Good restaurant with lots of open space outside and plenty of room inside with tables apart. The provided plenty of gloves and had facemasks all the time. The food is great.

Amazing food, desserts were nice. The chocolate cake and tiramisu were amazing. The service was good overall but we had to wait a while for the check but were the last ones over there.

Amazing experience .... loved their spicy sauces and their meats & seafood is cook great. When combined with their in-house spicy sauces, the food tastes great.I ordered the Lamb Shank which was a special and my friend ordered the Shrimp Caprese, which were delicious. Ill be back :)

For a party of 8, most of us had a good meal and enjoyed the evening. Our visit started off with good attention from the waitstaff. When our meals arrived things went downhill. One member of our party had a food allergy to onions and shared that with the waitress when we ordered. When his meal arrived he began eating and found onions in his dish. The waitress never came back to find out how our meals were. We finally had to drag her over to the table 10 minutes after everyone had started eating. They were very prompt at replacing the meal but it was awkward to have the one person without a meal for an extended period of time. A similar thing happened when it came time for the check. It took the waitstaff a very long time before we finally grabbed them to get the check. Given that we were one of the other parties in the restaurant that night it is hard to understand why the wait staff was so challenged. We have been there several times and this is atypical but will make us question the choice in the future.

We came to this restaurant for lunch. we heard about this restaurant from quite a few people. Well, we were not disappointed. we were warmly welcomed by the crew and we felt fantastic. The food was just great. We had a great time and we will visit this place again. Recommended.

Great food. Love the ambiance inside, and standing heaters for the patio tables outside. The have a small bar and bar area, but i heard the drinks are great. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner when i dined and i cant tell you how nice he was and all the employees. Lots of parking in a well lit parking lot. I will definately be back.

Had a great experience here for my fathers retirement party. Great service through and through. Staff was super helpful in setting up a nice environment for the party. Steak and Salmon was delicious. The owner was very hospitable and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great night. I recommend Zahir’s Bistro to anyone looking for a great place with great food and great service.

Fantastic dinner with great service. We went around 6pm on a Saturday and had a great meal. the prime rib fell apart as you touched it, the drinks were mixed well, and the waiting staff was very attentive. Must repeat and if you havent tried the place, youre missing out.

One of the high end restaurants in Milpitas. Theyve moved several times to different location within Milpitas over the past few years - not sure the reason. Theyre quite pricey, which is ok if the food is good.... Microwaved prime rib, over cooked pasta, tiny portions do not justify the high cost they charge. I do not recommend.

Very prompt service throughout the entire dinner. Food was pretty good, dessert was delicious. Deducting 1 star simply because we felt the price was a little high for what we were getting. The restaurant was a little empty, but Ill certainly be back again!

Best Steakhouse in Milpitas

Fairly tasty food. Poor service. After 7 minutes waiting for some one to show up at the hostess desk, I had to essentially poke my head into the back room and start yelling for another few minutes before someone showed their face.

I had an amazing time with my family, the person serving us was very kind and a good environment. They also gave my kids an extra cherry drinks for free that helps the food digest easier. Overall, I had a great experience.

Here is my experience. I arrived at about 5:30 pm to find one other small family there. This should have been my first warning. The service was very good. I was greeted, seated, and had drink and bread within minutes. I quickly put two small wrapped butter bricks into the bread basket to start warming the butter. The bread was good, better with soft butter.I ordered calamari, which was also good. Then came my entrée. I ordered the Fillet Mignon medium rare. It came perfectly cooked and very tender. This is where the good came to an end. That was the most bland steak I have ever eaten. It was as if they forgot to put anything on it, at all! The veggies were likewise bland, and I am 95% sure that the mashed potatoes came from a box. There is no way those mashed potatoes came from fresh potatoes.I asked for salt and pepper, which they promptly brought out. I used my very soft butter on the steak along with salt and pepper, which made a big difference. The manager or owner them came out to ask how my meal was, which was nice. I didnt have the heart to tell him what I really thought. I almost asked if I could come to the kitchen to see what were, or werent doing. It honestly tasted like food to be served in a nursing home cafeteria.In summary, the service was top notch. But I wish I would have just gone to Outback for a steak.

Went here for a private party and the food is good. The owner said they serve American and their prime rib is one of his specialties. Inside looks good and bathrooms are clean. One of the cleaner and well designed restaurants on Main Street Milpitas.

Zahirs is know for their prime rib and also has a nice selection of Italian and seafood dishes. The atmosphere and service was good. The have a selection of signature cocktails and a reasonable wine list.

Wow. Awesome service, awesome meal. I had the blackened rib eye with grilled prawns, others at my table had seafood. No disappointments whatsoever. The kitchen staff definitely knows their stuff.

Close to my home, Zahirs Bistro is a nice place to unwind over a glass of wine. Food is consistently good as expected from a place like this.

The starters and main courses came out luke-warm. Shame because they would have been really good otherwise.Their chocolate fondant is just chocolate cake. The tiramisu was really nice and light, and not too sweet. Definitely the best part of the meal!

I love it here. You are often greeted by Zahir or his family. The food is amazing and fresh. He tries to use local grown. You just dont get this personal touch when you hit any of the major chains. We have all of our office gatherings here. I would recommend this for a group or a romantic dinner for two.

Wonderfully prepared and presented food! Warmly welcomed by the owner, quiet bold ambiance, unexpected quality in the flavors. Someone REALLY knows what they are doing in the kitchen!! Best seafood I have ever experienced -- sea bass almost, but not quite, crusty outside and so moist and tender inside each flake melts in my mouth. It was not the usual butter sauce. It was the sea, itself. The establishment engenders new adventures in dining, and created memorable moments. How is such a dining experience hiding in little ol Milpitas?

The place was quiet, but mostly because there was no people. The food was way overpriced. I ordered the house s special, Zahir s chicken. It was poorly served, it consisted on chicken wrapped in some pizza dough and some beats and beans aside: $32. It was not appetizing. Needless to say, I wont be back there.

I guess I went in expecting something else looking at the reviews. the decor is decent but nothing that catches your attention. Food looked good, but tasted pretty average for the price. I had the Filet Mignon - Tornados; and it just tasted OK. Nothing to rave about. I generally prefer my steak to lean towards the rare side when I order medium-rare, so the steak was a little over done for my preference. My wife ordered a Chicken Marsala, and was pretty disappointing. The sauce tasted a bit unpleasant, and the chicken felt like it was just boiled in water. Absolutely no texture. Tomato Basil soup was decent, but then Ive had better.

Ive been meaning to try Zahirs Bistro for a while now because its rather difficult to find this style of restaurant (semi-fancy) in the area. When we walked in, the decor was nice, and we were immediately greeted by a man who seated us. We sat down and met our waiter, who was a very pleasant and helpful guy. They brought out warm sourdough with butter after taking our orders, which were fine. We got the Zahirs Combo appetizer, which included fried calamari, cajun shrimp, and stuffed mushrooms. It was the right amount of appetizer to split among three of us. The calamari was crispy and came with two sauces. One was a standard marinara, and the other was some flavored horseradish sauce that I quite enjoyed. The shrimp also had nice cajun seasoning and came with a roasted red bell pepper sauce, which also tasted nice. The stuffed mushrooms came with a ton of cheese on top along with what I think was a bechamel (white) sauce; tasted great.Unfortunately, I ordered the sea bass special for my main course, and I was disappointed. While the fish itself was very nicely cooked (juicy and flavorful), I felt that it had a slightly fishy taste (indicating it not being very fresh). The shrimps that came with the dish were seasoned with just a hint of salt, so additional seasoning or a sauce would have been a welcome addition. The sides were also nothing special: roasted squash and zucchini, which tasted fine. The other side was some sort of rice pilaf which wasnt as flavorful as it looked visually. However, it had a nicely crisped bottom which added a much needed crunchy texture to the dish.That said, the other two main courses my party ordered looked significantly better. I was torn between the sea bass and the breaded filet, which my friend ordered. The filet looked significantly better (cooked to the requested temperature), and it had a potato croquette side instead of the rice I got (which I tasted, and really liked). Another got the ribeye speical, which also looked nicely cooked.We didnt get dessert, and I dont think Ill be running back. I wouldnt mind giving it another shot with something on the menu thats not seafood.Appetizer came out fast, main course took quite a long time to come out, but service made sure our bread basket was always full. I was satisfied overall with the service and atmosphere.

My wife and I recently ate at Zahirs on Mothers Day; to say the least, it was wonderful, outstanding! Weve been going to Zahirs Bistro since the 1970s. Though their location has changed over the years, the outstanding menu and hospitality has always remained the same. This is a culinary jewel in the midst of North San Jose/South Milpitas area where we have too many mediocre restaurants and fast foods, but no outstanding restaurants. Though a few dollars more than others in the area, it is MORE than worth it. You must give it a try!!!On our last visit, my wife had the Chicken en Croute and I had the Prime Rib and Eggs. Both were so delicious. Further, as he always does, Mr. Zahir himself came to our table to catch up with us; he has an astute memory for all of his patrons. And, because we have been such a long time admiree of he and his restaurant, he sent over a dessert on the house; it was fabulous.Dont miss this place; it is the best in our area!

Okay, first of all I would like to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in to look at Zahirs menu. I was looking for a Middle-Eastern/Mediterranean restaurant because I was really looking forward to shwarma and humus. However, I am so glad I found this gem of a place. I sat at the bar as there was a large party in the main dining area. I just so happened to sit next to the owners son-in-law, Gustavo - who was a joy to talk to. I ordered the filet mignon in dijonaise and it was absolutely delicious! Very tensor filet and the red potatoes that came with it were incredible as well. For dessert I had Gustavos own recipe canollis - again, incredible! In fact, the best Ive ever had! If there was any complaint, it was that everyone was too friendly and the food was too good; therefore, I overindulged!
