Warners Tree Surgery has been a family business for over 40 years. I am Patrick Working, the youngest child of Warner and Pat, the owners and operators of the business. I had worked intermittently in the business all my life, and worked full time as a partner for over a decade. At the time of writing I am 32 years old.At Warners, I had the privilege to work for loyal customers the better part of my life. One of my greatest privileges was to work on the same trees year after year, getting to watch plants transform over a decade or more, letting artistic (and practical) trimming hone a tree into something more than could ever be achieved in a single pruning. I also had the chance to build relationships with the customers, some of whom have been with us since my family moved to Mesa in 1992.The tree business has been a home base for many of my family members throughout the years. I learned early from my family not only how to help people with their trees and plants, but how to operate a small local business that has sustained across 3 generations. Not long ago, we used to trim palm trees, preform removals, stump grinding, and tricky climbing and rope work on top of the normal pruning, disease treatment and fertilization. Over the years, the brothers and nephews have gradually moved on to other careers. and as of 2018, the business has scaled down to primarily my Mom and Dad doing tree treatments and injections. At the core of Warners Tree Surgery has always been my dad Warner. He is one of the most experienced plant biologists preforming tree care in the valley. Ive seen trees that look hopeless come back from the dead, and on the flip side, Ive witnessed him tell customers theres nothing that can be done to save your tree at this point and encourage them to waste their money. He has developed an intellectual and literal toolbox for observing the new developments in insects and fungus that are affecting the plants in the Valley, and is always working on testing solutions to plant diseases that the other experts havent documented yet.My Dad, Warner, is an eccentric person who can sometimes be blunt, and can sometimes ramble a bit (if youd ask my wife shed say those traits are genetic) but is very, very intelligent and dedicated to his craft. In all my life I have never witnessed him be dishonest or misinform a customer. My Mom, Pat, has been scheduling with customers, lining up work and getting my dad out the door for over 40 years. She has been the sweet old lady with the Indiana accent who helps build relationships with the customers and has kept the business glued together all these years.I worked at Warners Tree Surgery intermittently all my life, and full-time professionally from 2003 through 2014. In 2014, I took a fall on a skateboard and broke my leg. I decided to go back to school while I was healing and got enticed into another career. I miss trees and working with my hands, and I miss the customers and friends I had accrued over my lifetime, but I dont miss working outside in the Arizona summer :PThis was supposed to be a review, not my lifes story, but like my dad I tend to over explain and ramble a bit. But please consider giving Warners Tree Surgery a call If youre looking for a local, experienced expert to help you with your tree ailments. I dont know of a better company, and youd be supporting a real-deal Ma and Pa local business that has been servicing the valley for a long time now.The picture I am adding to this review is one of the beautiful trees we were fortunate enough to shape and work with for over a decade: a very old and very large Chinese Elm tree that is in a Phoenix historic neighborhood.
1 year ago my trees almost died due to insects. The tree lost most of its green foliage. Warners came out and injected my trees. Without Warners Tree Surgerys help I would have lost my trees which have been at this house for the last 25 years. There is no one in the valley of the sun that has more knowledge. The insects change yearly here in the valley and without his constant pursuit of the actual truth on the subject matter more trees would be dead. Thanks for helping my trees Warners Tree Surgery.
Warners Tree Service is not to be trusted. Warner is only interested in doing the least amount of work and getting paid, he does not care about your trees and plants and certainly does not care about you! Warner killed 2 large pine trees on my property with his neglectful treatment of injecting a chemical into my trees. After killing my trees I requested a follow up meeting with him and he refused to meet with me. He has no certification as an arbor specialist, he is not licenced, insured or bonded company. He is not registered with the better business bureau or the chamber of commerce. Stay as far away from this guy as possible, do not use his service, you will be sorry!
Warner saved our thorny Palo Verde tree in North Central Phoenix. Being new to the area we are still learning how to care for the local foliage. Our Verde tree that provides a lot of shade suddenly dropped all its leaves. Warner diagnosed and treated the cause and within two weeks our Verde is full green with beautiful yellow blossoms. Thank you Warner and Pat.
We recently had Warner come to our house because several of our citrus trees were getting sickly, dying sections, bad looking fruit, etc. We have 14 citrus trees we planted 20 years ago. They were always healthy and productive. Warner explained what was causing the problem. He treated our trees and gave us some addition things to do. He charged a fair price for his services. I recommend him very highly.
Would definitely not recommend this company. Came out to the house in May to look at a Palo Verde tree of ours that was dripping a lot of sap. Charged us $380 to drill a couple holes in the tree and inject some insecticide. Gave us instructions to put insecticide around the tree a few more times at an additional cost of $150. 5 months later the tree is still dripping the same amount of sap and is now looking unhealthy. $530 wouldve been better spent having the tree removed.
I was absolutely disappointed with the service we received from them. They charged me $100 to come take a look at my trees. He was here about 5 minutes and handed me a piece of paper that I could have printed from his website or other sources. Then he wanted to charge me even more money to do any work above showing up. Shouldn’t part of the labor be included in a service call? Maybe I will start up my own tree service if I can make this kind of money. I recommend going on o a local nursery, I had MUCH better results and it supported other local businesses.
Warner saved 5 citrus trees in my yard that were in bad shape - lots of dead leaves and bare branches. A few months after his treatment, they look better than ever before. Warner has a great depth of knowledge about insects & disease that impact citrus and other trees. Warner took the time to outline a simple on-going treatment plan that I can do myself to keep the trees in excellent shape. Thanks Warner!
This is a wonderful company. I used them when I lived in Mesa. They saved my trees that were on their death bed. They brought them back to life. Thank you
Warners Tree Surgery is the best tree health service in the valley! They offer great quality work and its a family business so you know you are getting the best service.
This is a great service, and Mr Warner knows a lot about trees and their problems. We have problems with the white fly on our citrus trees, and he is addressing this. We are working on several approaches to get rid of them and save the trees, one of which was obviously dying. He is a pleasure to work with, and I can definitely recommend his service.
I have a queen palm that is having troubles. I had seen several adds of business that would treat trees, but I thought Id do a little looking around on the internet first before I decided who to call. I found Warners videos on youtube and he seemed to really care about the trees. I called him and he was able to come very soon thereafter. Besides treating my sick queen palm, he showed me other issues that were going on. He then took the time to educate me on not only my queen palms, but my other trees as well. He gave me the information and resources so that I could treat the trees myself. It was not overwhelming. I now feel that I can give my trees what they need. Warner was very kind and patient with me. He went the extra mile to help me. I was right, he not only cares about the trees, he cares about his customers. I would definitely call him again if and when there is a need.
I love this company. Nice people and good service!
