If you are any type of guitarist, you know that finding a tech that knows what they are doing is difficult. Stop looking. Brendan knows his stuff through and through. He has serviced a number of my guitars and he makes me sound better than I actually am (which is the point, right?). The store itself is friendly and helpful. Good stop for any level of musician.

Stopped in to have our guitar checked out, Brenden was awesome, filed the frets and made sure it was properly tuned. Didnt get a chance to explore the expansive store, but my son is excited to go back again when we have more time!

I had been eyeing a Yamaha guitar on one of the online retailers for a bit and decided I needed to have it. I wanted to get it from an independent music store, however, and seeing as I live in rural SW Colorado, I had nowhere local to purchase the guitar from. I found this store online as the closest one with the guitar and decided to call. I spoke to JP who gave me a wonderful, very informative overview of the guitar, did not pressure me to buy at all, and was all around very helpful. I purchased through their PayPal immediately after getting off the phone and the guitar showed up 2 days later in immaculate condition. They even shipped it with a Music Nomad humidifier for protection in these arid western climates. I would definitely buy from them again and will 100% stop in when I visit the Phoenix area.

I use Brenden Dezember, the luthier, all the time. For almost ten years. He is a master.. He is a level above the rest when it comes to customizing guitars. I will never trust my axes with another.

Great first experience! I pulled my old violin out of storage and two of my strings were broken. The music store helped me out. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to get my strings there and get them put on and tuned. They have tons of books for music and cool stocking stuffers for people who are all about music. They also offer lessons!

My favorite place to go for sheet music. They have the best editions for classical musicians/teachers and the staff there is always so chill and helpful.

Knowledgeable, friendly staff. The owner is pretty awesome.They don’t have the inventory of a Guitar Center, but their inventory isn’t in poor shape, either. The prices and experience of buying here is more than enough to keep me coming back. Wether buying a violin, guitar, or a ukulele, you’ll get it better here.

Great store and they are a Mesa boogie dealer. They matched the online prices and I got a great deal on a Mesa Mark V. The owner is a very fair man and is always happy to help out. Very accommodating and they definitely appreciate musicians. Buy locally and support these guys, especially if you’re a serious musician and want to up your game with a Mesa amp or one of their boutique guitars.

Stopped in to inquire about and check out their Tom Anderson guitars. The young man at the front was very helpful and pointed me in the direction of Jon, the Anderson expert. Had a nice chat with Jon about the process of ordering a custom model from Anderson, and he showed me the guitars they have in stock. He had a lot of useful information and was very helpful in detailing the order process and popular specs. Highly recommended if youre looking for a nice guitar, or a Mesa Boogie amplifier, which they have quite a selection of. Very well-organized store.

I have been stopping in from time to time to pick up strings or a strap or cord. Nice folks! About a year ago I was in buying a strap for one of my guitars when I spotted a 12 string Fender. I played it and fell in love. All I can say is they worked so hard to get it all together, found just the right case, AND gave me a better deal that Guitar City could offer! I have been coming to this music store for years since I was a child. I know that their prices are higher than ordering online, but Ive still paid their higher prices to support them. Today I came in with a question about how to get a simple cleaning rag, which was stuck, out of an instrument. The guy behind the counter was extremely rude did not answer any of my questions, told me that no one in the entire store had any experience with this sort of question. Sorry to say, but I will not be giving my business to the store any longer. I would recommend milanos music, or ordering online.

I dont have much to say about the instrument and sheet music retail section. Im new to Arizona so I decided on The Music Store for a setup for my guitar after the move had the neck bent out of shape. Regarding customer service, this place ranks very highly. Brandon in repairs was very personable and down to earth. Regarding technical work performed, which is what actually matters the most, this was the best standard setup that I have ever had. Im used to paying $60 for a neck, action, and bridge adjustment and advice on what additional repairs I should pay for. The attention to detail is what made this setup superior. Neck, nut, fretwork, pickups balanced, intonation, and details all the way down to two missing screws in my output jack faceplate. I bought this guitar used in 2008 and I think this might be the best playing condition its been in. Summary: the skill level and attention to detail used during each phase of the repair process here is more than worth the money. Mom n pop store doesnt always mean guaranteed high quality but the proof is in the pudding for The Music Stores repair department.

I worked with Brendan (sorry if I spelled it wrong) in the repair shop. It is the only place I will use from now on. I had to get a guitar completely rewired after I messed it up, and he had it ready for me the next day. When I showed up, he explained exactly what he did. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I would definitely recommend him to anybody.

Came here to rent an instrument. Everyone was very friendly and I was walked through the entire renting process as it was my first time. For anyone looking to rent an instrument I would recommend coming here.

I use The Music Stores guitar repair shop for all of the work I need done to my basses. Brandon has always performed exceptional work on my gear and I never have to worry about anything. He is excellent at what he does, and a pleasure to do business with.

I have used this music store to find curriculum for both guitar and piano on two seperate occasions. Not only did I find exactly what I was looking for, both times I went, I was also greeted with amazing customer service and friendly employees who offered to help me find the curriculum I needed. Another thing worth mentoning is their extensive and organized curriculum and book section. I was a little overwhelmed at first by their collection, but those feelings receded quickly as I realized just how organized and orderley there selections were. This is by far my favorite music store, and my go to recommendation for other musicians!

Let me start by saying I have very limited knowledge about guitars.I bought a new (fairly inexpensive) A/E guitar and it didnt sound how I thought it would. I figured it would sound like an amplified acoustic guitar and not so electricky. Also the strings seemed to be pretty high off the neck. So, I took it to Guitar Center to find out a) if it was normal for it to sound the way it did, b) if there was anything I could do to make it sound better, and c) to verify that my guitar wasnt a total piece of crap. The guy there didnt even plug it my guitar to see how it sounded. In fact, he didnt even touch or look at my guitar. He didnt even get out of his chair or put down the guitar he was practicing on. He just said, yeah... uh... could just be a cheap guitar or maybe the electronics are broken. Then he took a phone call for 5 minutes, and when he got off, he asked the person behind me if he could help them. So I left.I drove a few miles out of the way to The Music Store. When I walked in, I was greeted by the gentleman there. He even got off his chair and asked how he could help. Crazy, huh? I told him the issue and although the guitar tech would not be in until Tuesday, he still inspected my guitar, made a few suggestions, and really took an interest in what my concerns were. He even looked at my other acoustic guitar which I brought with me as well to see if it could use some work.Before I left, I wanted to get a new strap for the new guitar. I was very impressed that the guy offered to hang up my guitars for me while I shopped. He even helped me pick out the strap.The following Tuesday I returned to talk to the guitar tech who was equally as friendly. He recommended doing a set-up on both my A/E and my acoustic guitar and swapping out the strings on my new one to help tone down the brightness. Ill be back on Thursday to pick them up.All in all I was extremely satisfied with how I was treated at The Music Store. Their positive attitude and willingness to help really made a true guitar amateur like me feel comfortable. I highly recommend them. They actually made me regret buying my guitar online. I would have gladly paid more for their level of service (and probably would have ended up with a better guitar as well).
