Ive been going to Bits n Bytes for all my computer related needs for almost seven years. They are extremely knowledgeable, always fair & helpful, and Ive recommended them many times to others who have also reported great experiences in dealing with them. Not only have they worked on my MacBook Air laptop, but I purchased a refurbished large touchscreen desktop computer for my mother here and it has been working perfectly for several years, as well. I purchased a refurbished laptop from them. It is a great computer. I had a problem loading some software once during quarantine..I called and left a message and I received a call within 30 minutes. Numkene helped me fix my issue and didnt charge, where at other places I would have been charged a service fee.The staff is friendly and helpful. My knowledge of current technology is some what limited;however, any questions I have had were explained to me in a way I could understand. Great company, excellent service, and friendly staff.

I purchased all the parts to build a gaming computer for Christmas for my son. (Regretfully not from this store)He put it all together but something wasnt right. We took it down to bits n bytes. And T.J. took a look at it and had it up and running while we waited. I was really anticipating he would come out and tell me it was going to take hundreds of dollars to fix it. Not very helpful nor friendly at all. I called to inquire about getting my laptop fixed. The guy was rather passive aggressively rude. I won’t be calling back and I would recommend calling anyone other than this place.UPDATE: Its now 6 months after posting my review. They now just reply to the review. No apology. Just a, Well, we were great before you came along and well try harder to be great now that you are gone. (rather arrogant, if you ask me.)If you really believe you have excellent customer service, why does it take 6 months to address a customers review? Rhetorical question, of course. I already know the answer.

Service was ok. It took about 5 days for them to tell me my hard drive was bad and needed to be replaced. I went ahead and did it since it was cheaper than buying a brand new laptop. One of the guys I talked to was really nice and explained the process, he was the one who actually did the work. There was another guy up front who was a bit rude, almost like he didn’t like dealing with customers.Not sure if they are reasonably priced because I’ve never needed a laptop repaired before. Another downside is when I got home I had to update all my Lenovo drivers for the shortcut keys work, not a big deal but would have been nice if they told me it needed to be done.

Sent my friend there to get some replacement parts for his PS4 everything worked fine. Only complaint was rep wouldn’t check pricing over the phone. Told me to come in.

My computer died. Completely black screen. I took it to the Geek Squad @ Best Buy and they wanted $159 to even look at it or I could buy a protection policy for $199. (And then I would I would have to buy parts and service) Someone told me about Bits and Bytes so I took my computer there. They quoted me $79 to open it up and check it out. They discovered it was a swollen battery. They applied the $79 to the price of the battery and a $39 fee to replace the battery and I got it back 3 days earlier than estimated. I am a happy camper!! I highly recommend Bits n Bytes Computers

Bits and bytes sold an animal welfare charity a laptop for full price telling us it was functional for our needs. I was told the computer had an Intell centrino class CPU and it contains a core 2 duo cpu. It also has a QUARTER of the ram. I am not computer wise and I have to pay for professional help to know what I am doing. I was in a situation where I needed the computer to carry on a very intricate case far from home. Our animal welfare charity was taken advantage of by this business. We now own a paperweight of a Laptop that hardly functions beyond what it was used for during the case which was to view SSD cards with footage from trail cams. I fully intended for this computer to be usable for the rescue and the business in the future and it has performed poorly from the beginning but I figured it was misuse so I took it to a professional only to find out that we had been ripped off and had been expecting things of this computer it couldnt possibly live up to from day one. I gave the owner the opportunity to send us the parts to upgrade the computer to barely functional for our needs or to accept the computer back in exchange for a refund which he declined. Take your business to honest people. These arent them.

I went in today and got a laptop cheaper then what Amazon was showing. When I had more questions afterwards very responsive with my questions. So far no complaints I will definitely be bringing in my other laptop into to get checked and fixed.

I purchased a refurbished computer here 10 days ago. Being older and not computer literate I asked for lots advise. I did not purchase the same computer brand I had, but a Dell. Was advised it would not be hard to change to a Dell as well as Windows 10. I really love this computer and the way I was treated by Ken and Anthony. Thank you guys so very much!!!!

My laptop crashed all of a sudden. After googling repair shops I found bits n bytes. I stopped by and talked to the great guys there. I decided to leave my laptop in their hands to diagnose. Before I got home I received a phone call from them telling me I had a dead SSD. The fix was extremely affordable and the speed of the repair was faster than I could have ever believed. So I decided to try this family owned computer store and when I walked in, the staff was very polite they showed me a 2013 Mac laptop which they sold me on. The problem was, when I was going to pay they couldn’t enter my card number it had to be scanned. They said they do not have that technology. Keep in mind I drove pretty far thinking they would, since it is a computer store. None the less I hope they adapt (2019) and improve their technology which would obviously make good business and we know good business means happy customers.So I called after you replied to my review but never got a call back. Also I am 100% positive that your store is the right store. After you telling me that you guys definitely enter card numbers manually just made everything worse. I can’t believe I was denied and told a lie after driving 1 hour to get to your store.All I ask is you please train your staff just a tad bit better please.Thank you.

Ive known both Tom and Tj since Feb 2012. I have seen them work tirelessly at the Mesa Market Place (Swap Meet) and Their Old Location In the same Plaza off Apache Trail. Super all around service, Requested them to install SSD and transfer data. They were fast and very reasonably priced. Service tech Anthony spent time explaining the differences between the old and new drives. They also tweeted and cleaned all unnecessary junk out of it. Service was great as always. I came to swap a charger and picked up an awesome deal on a desktop.

I bought two computers there in the past couple years. The first one yes it had where in tear and I figured it would have to be replaced. Then I bought a second one lasted for a while and I took it in because I wanted the USBS checked. When I got it back they said the USBS was OK, but now one of the key sticks and programs keep opening over and over again. It did not do that before but I didn’t notice that they had cleaned the computer keys in the whole computer, I’m not sure but I think they might have gotten some of the cleaner into the keyboard. So now I have a key that keeps opening programs and then all of a sudden my Microsoft program was deleted for some reason. No it will cost me more to fix the computer than I paid for it just to fix it and they still can’t promise the key won’t stick. Now I have to buy another computer to replace the one that is now worthless.

On Monday morning I took my 5 year old laptop into Bits N Bytes on Apache Trail. On Monday afternoon I received a call to tell me that the laptop couldnt be fixed. Tuesday morning I drove to the shop and with Anthonys help, I ordered a replacement. Thursday afternoon I received a call to let me know the new laptop was ready to be picked up. I have to admit that when I got home I was worried if all my files would be loaded. Not only was everything there, but they were able to load a program that was no longer being supported that I desperately needed. Service was great, price was good (a lot cheaper than any store I used before) and turn around time fantastic. Will recommend Bits N Bytes to everyone.

I had my laptop taken in to get fixed and factory reset. Thought they fixed it that I know of so far they were specificly told not to put a password on the account once it was reset but they did anyways and now I can’t get into my laptop. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re really hurting for money. You get what you pay for.

Took my custom build in to confirm a problem with my GPU and they were very helpful and allowed me to use one of their testing systems to confirm my problem component. They wouldnt accept my money even though I spent over an hour using their system and knowledge. Awesome place and met every expectation !!!

Ask for TJ or the dad as Anthony and Kenny do not belong in customer service from ignorant disrespectful comments to the fact they hate Apple and will do their best to try to talk you out of buying one in the most rude way. Brought my 8yr old computer to them for a free computer check. They wanted to charge me nearly $320. to switch out hard drive and re-install windows. They quoted me a price of $99. for 2tb hard drive. When Frys electronics sells them for $49..... I went to In Home Computer Rob Star instead they did it for half the cost with no hassles or disrespectful comments. In Home much better friendlier option.

I am an older guy with not so extremely much computer knowledge. When my old computer broke down several years ago I bought a used desk top from Bits n Bytes (at an unbelievably low price) after I met them at their booth at the Signal Butte Flea Market in Mesa. They did install all of the programs that I had on my old computer (for free) and helped me showing me how to set it up. Over the years I have had a number of times where things didnt work as they should and I was always helped. Many times I received free help and advice like nowhere else before. A few months ago it was time to replace the laptop I had bought from them for another used one from them. The computer had caught a number of viruses and I was glad to, again, exchange it at a low price for another good one I can use every day. When I needed help with connecting to my new printer the guys did the programming work for me at no charge. Now I need help again to send digital pictures to friends and family in Germany. Again, just talking they told me to come in whenever time allows and they will show me for free how to transfer those pictures. What a great bunch of guys. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. To give insight on my experience with Bits n Bytes, a little over 2 weeks ago I was searching for a place relatively close to my home that could repair my PC. I found Bits n Bytes in the area, and decided to check out the reviews online which were mostly favorable, taking that as a good sign and deciding to take my PC over to them.I brought my computer in, letting them know my PC wasnt booting up correctly after recently replacing the Motherboard. They told me they could fix the issue for $99(which Ill admit is a reasonable price), and provided me a number that I could use to text them and see the status of my PC repair. Now what I still dont understand, is why I was even given that number in the first place, because it was never utilized. Over the course of the 2 weeks, I texted the number once and never received a reply nor did I receive any update status on my PCs repair. The only way I was able to keep in touch was to call them myself and ask, in which each time I called I was met with still working on it. and occasionally a well call you back either tonight or tomorrow., which surprisingly...they never did! Im not sure about anyone else, but as a customer I sure dont like being kept in the dark about something Im paying someone to fix.Fast forward to week later since taking my PC in, I finally got a call letting me know my PC was finished and ready to be picked up. Awesome! I drive down to the store, pay them the $99, thank them for their work, and head on home. After hooking everything back up, I turn on my PC, and what do you know the thing is unusable. Constantly rebooting, and occasionally freezing. Im sorry, but did no one boot this thing up in the store to even check this before telling me my PC was Fixed?I immediately called Bits n Bytes to let them know that my PC was not fixed, and was told to bring it back to the store. I did exactly that, was told it would be awhile, and waited. 3 days had gone by with no word or fix. I decide to give them a call, and Im told Well we fixed the rebooting problem, so it isnt doing that. We think its your Hard Drive and SSD so we are testing them.. So there I am waiting again, day after day after day, no response, no fix. After waiting so long, I said forget it. I drove to the store this morning to pick my PC up, was nice to see they had time to take smoke breaks out front but couldnt bother with my PC that I had already paid them to fix but wasnt fixed. I walked straight into the store and waited. Told them it had been enough time, tired of waiting, and wanted my PC back. Simple as that. Didnt ask for a refund or demand anything, just wanted to take my PC elsewhere. Before I left I was told they were testing the Graphics Card because they think that was the problem.. So here I am thinking, if it wasnt the Graphics Card, what was it going to be next while I wait another week or two. No thanks!

I had them install a new SSD into my 27 iMac. I purchased the drive on my own and backed it up so all I needed was for them to simply replace it. I went to the business but they told me I needed an additional part that is needed when upgrading to a SSD for older iMacs....I appreciated this because my computer fan would have just spun at max speed, be annoying, and break sooner without it. I also thought it was nice of them because they easily could have done the work I asked for and then charged me extra down the road for fixing what I didnt know would be an issue; however, before the work began they let me know I had a problem with my plan, showed me which part to get, and then did a great job once I gave them what they needed.

I called the place yesterday and asked if they buy laptop computers etc they said yes and we pay a fair wage for them I took in two go laptops that worked a 20in hp pavilion that needed minor repair and a tower for parts they have me 10 dollars it was not fair I called other places afterwards and was told 80 was fair would not recommend my opinion I got totally ripped off save it time and old computers and go anywhere else they are Worth something hope this helps some honest people dont get ripped off like I did

Experience 1:I am very disappointed with this company. I purchased a $99 dollar refurbished computer at the swap meet in AZ. I know you get what you pay for, but I did expect the computer to stay on and not keep shutting off. After the battery was charged, if you unplugged it, it would drain in 3 minutes and shut off the computer. I spent $35 dollars to ship it back to the company since I was on vac and live in CO. T.J. said, we do not normally fix those kinds of things but we will do it this time for customer service. I received the computer two weeks later and it did the same thing. After much whining he agreed to take the computer back and refund my $99 but I had to pay to ship it back to him. T.J. refused to pay for shipping of my computer even tho he sold me junk!!Experience 2:At the same time we purchased a $199 refurbished computer for my son. What a joke. This computer stays on, but the disk drive does not work. It does not play the games he wants it to. Kyle that works for this company said, had I been at the swap meet I would have asked you WHAT games he wanted to play on this computer and I would have told you, it will not support the games you want to play. We cannot figure out how to get any home page to come up on this computer. I decided to shop locally for a solution for my 6 year old trusty laptop, a Toshiba Qosmio. TJ and Tom Watson, Bits n Bytes advised me to trade out my old hard drive for a solid state hard drive for my Toshiba. Wow. My boot up time went from 90 seconds to 10 seconds. Big success. Its like I have a new computer. And the solid state HD runs very cool: very good for any laptops life expectancy. They installed the Windows operating system and set up the HD so it was ready to go. The solution was much less expensive than the cost of purchasing a new laptop.So, based on this success, I decided to add a desktop computer to my home equipment, too. I asked Bits n Bytes what they could do for me. They evaluated my needs, and built me a customized computer to accomodate my video/ graphics/ business needs.Another Wow! I got a customized computer for much less than I would have paid for a new one off the shelf at an office store or online. They installed a solid state hard drive in my new desktop, and once again, am enjoying an almost instantaneous boot up.Ive come to rely on them for hardware and software advice now, too. They advised me on how to pick the right webcam, and the right HP laser color printer (even though they dont sell them.)There are some things you just cant get when you buy online that youll get when you buy from a reputable local company. Youll get a quality product and the sum-total of their experience.They sell quality used computer equipment, too. My advice: give Bits n Bytes a try.
