I just relocated from California and visited Maddox Apartments this morning. I was very impressed with the customer service I received from both of the ladies in the office. Unfortunately they did not have anything available for immediate moving in but if they did I would have signed today. Very friendly and pleasant atmosphere.

AMAZING apartment complex. People in the front office are always willing to help to help and always up beat and nice!! maintenance is helpful and fixes repairs in apartments ASAP!! Property is well kept and clean! love this apartment complex and glad it’s my home!!

My family and I moved in almost 4 months ago and we love our apartment. We have a updated 2x2 and the kitchen has the prettiest blue back splash. Love love love it. The office staff is nice and the guys I see picking up the grounds are friendly too. Plus there is a Trader Joe’s a block away I can walk there.

A year ago they changed the administration and since than everything has not been the same, security wise its not the same either I have 4 years here and my car has been broken in 2 times, I do not recommend this apartments specially I went the other time in a saturday to the office, I have never seen the girl that was there and she was really mean to me and my son that its 3 years only because I asked her information on my rent payment she assumed the information I was giving her was incorrect until she checked the system and confirmed I was saying the truth. Her attitude was horrible maintenance orders take forever.Not recommended

Happy they finally got the fountain area taken area. I didn’t like looking at a big hole of dirt. Review is mainly for the staff. They are very friendly and go above and beyond for us. I have never had a negative experience with them even when I went into the office yelling about the pool And exercise room being closed (They are now open). They put hammocks in and it looks really nice. I have been here since 2010 and plan on staying.

Have been living here for a year, except for the initial visit (when they told me I could schedule a visit at 5 pm but when I got there they said it was dark and they wont give me an apartment viewing), the experience has been really good. Apartment amenities are new. The new staff are great (unlike the one I talked to initially). The 24 hour gym is pretty good compared to a lot of other apartment complex. The location is the best, close to highway, shopping, and entertainment but also pretty quite. The neighbors are pretty nice people too.

The Maddox formerly Windemere Apartments has a recording that says they are a premier complex. I’ve lived here for three years and I can tell you that with the new owners and management, it is far from premier. Dog owners allow their dogs to go anywhere they please. It sets there for days and days. In the summer you will lose any appetite you had walking to your home. The worst thing is they decided not to carpet several apartments upstairs when they rehabbed them. So when anyone walks on the floor the sound is in your face. They rented to someone with 2 small children and they do relay races back and forth all day and up until 10 P.M.Although Ive complained about his for the last 18 months, the old owners and even now the new owners and managers have done nothing to fix this, and refused to carpet the upstairs. IF you rent here, make sure you do not rent below a unit without carpet. We will be seeking legal recourse to get out of our lease and move to a quieter, cleaner complex. Don’t make the same mistake I made. See picture: The dark spots on the ground is all the dog mess that stays there for days and days. And I guess if you dont mind smelling other peoples marijuana and cigarette smoke, youll be ok living here. Smoke gets sucked into the cracks in the windows and front door like a vacuum.

I have lived in these apartments for 3 years and the current management is very friendly. I go into the office for coffee and they always say hi and smile. I just renewed my lease. I was planning on moving but am happy I decided not to. The new managers are the only ones I see that pick up trash. The two thin girls in the office are always outside picking it up. I never seen that before. I read some of the bad reviews about where I live and feel bad for the people that write them. They must be very negative people and should try yoga or running or go to the gym to release their negative energy.

I love my apartment!!! The office staff is great, all very friendly and helpful. The grounds are kept up nicely and maintenance is very prompt. I am beyond pleased. They have great insulation, I have not once heard my neighbors from inside my apartment. They have a dog park, which my dog LOVES and a place to wash my car. Best part about it all though, there are no bug issues whatsoever, thats HUGE for me!

Management has decided to put pigeon traps on the rooftops. Today I watched a baby pigeon bake in the hot sun while its mother tried to reach it through the wire. Another neighbor says a pigeon near her place was left in a trap for *at least* 3 days (it overturned the bait dishes of food+water and must have been suffering greatly with nothing to eat or drink, and no way to get out of the sun.)Please stop.

This is worse than any place I have ever lived. I complained about roaches 2 months in and they blamed it on the neighbors. The washer and dryer never worked, they replaced it 1 month before I moved out. I had a 1yr. Lease! After I moved out, I spent a day cleaning it out and leaving it ready for move in and still they kept my deposit, the good thing is I took pictures and disputed it. They tell you to freely use their fire place but upon move out, they charge you a resurfacing fee. These people are thieves. If you have to live there, please I urge you to take pictures of EVERYTHING! If you have to talk to anyone, do it with Emma, she is the only one in the whole lot who has any sense, Liz will never do anything for you. Also the maintenance manager is the best, if you need something done he will help you. Be careful with this place they will scam you.. Check all added fees before you sign.

This place was great until new management. They let EVERYONE go and have new people. The office is ALWAYS closed for HOURS. I overheard the two ladies at the front desk wanting to kick kids out of the game room. They were not doing anything bad just a little loud. But.. its a GAME room where they are supposed to be welcomed. They made it seem like they were destroying the place. They just seem really unprofessional. The old management always made you feel welcome and willing to help.The place is not as clean as it was before. The old maintenance guy cleaned the whole place everyday. It was seriously spotless almost everyday. The new ones barely take the trash out. And it has over flowed for days!! Honestly would not recommend this place at all. Wish the old crew could come back.

We are on the second floor, love the high ceilings, the complex is quiet and the office staff is always friendly. The complex itself is clean and there is tons of parking - seriously, we have 2 cars (one covered space) and I have never had an issue getting a space close to my apt. I almost always get the same exact spot even. Our neighbors are all very polite and friendly, no issues at all. Its comfortable.

Ive lived here for 5 years and ever since the new management AMC came in things have never ran better the office staff is incredibly friendly and the maintenance team is solving problems that have been plaguing this complex for the last few years I will be renewing my lease with Vanessa the new manager next month I would recommend this place to anybody those who write bad reviews are simply not being honest about how this place is being ran now...

So, to begin, if you have a dog and are planning to live here, dont. Im a single female living by herself and felt so uncomfortable around the maintenance crew. They are trash and super sketchy. Takes 2 weeks for them to answer a request. They are unsafe around dogs, try and pet them without your permission. They broke their key to my apartment trying to get in when the door was already unlocked. Only one pool is open, sometimes. Apartment tried to evict me under sketchy circumstances and I fought them on it and won. This place is so bad I ended up paying the early termination fees just to leave. Safe yourself some time, effort, and money and dont live here.

Been a resident at Windermere now Maddox for almost 6 years. I never write reviews but felt this one I had to. I told a friend about this place and after him reading the reviews he decided to take more time to think about it. It actually disgusts me about some of the things that are said. I am in the office 7 days a week for coffee and have NEVER seen someone in the office staff rude. They have always gone out of their way to make me and anyone else that was in there at that time welcome. Today I was there and my coffee spilled all over me and the floor and the ladies in the office came over to me to make sure I was ok. They deserve 5 stars in my opinion. Thank you ladies.

I recently relocated from Texas to Arizona for work. The manager, Ashley.. helped in every way possible making this as easy transition! The complex is great and I would highly recommend to all the Google reviewers like myself. Im currently renting a 1 bedroom on the 1st floor, and its a perfect fit for myself and the dog! Addressing the previous comments, yes the carpet wasnt brand new when I moved in but very clean. Im positive they wont charge me when and if I have to relocate again because theyre understanding and honestly genuine, unlike other apartment staff!!They are pet friendly and this is defiantly a great place to start or raise your family.*The only complaint I have experienced is due to my surround sound, the way they are making movies these days some parts suddenly get really loud and my neighbor complained, it was addressed and hopefully resolved.. They have gone above and beyond for me (KYLE C) and will work to keep you a HAPPY RESIDENT!! Just witnessed one of my neighbors going off on the office staff for a flickering lightbulb near the coffee bar??? I rarely associate with anyone in the office unless I am paying rent or passing through to the parcel lockers! Today I felt so bad for them because I get it. I work in the restaurant industry and customer service is not easy. I am spoken rudely to on a daily basis but it doesn’t make it right. This review is in defense of workers like me and them and people like my neighbor should be ashamed of how they treat people.

ONE OF THE WORST APARTMENT I EVER STAYED IN. why ?my moved out day was over charge to almost $2000. the new lease management is terrible. the old lease manager was amazing until they change it up. EXTRA CHARGE FOR WATER! AND HIDDEN FEE AFTER YOU MOVE OUT! before when i would get mail from office the old manager give me no trouble now they check for everything. it like going to a club they need to check for your ID. After i moved out the last month they make me stay there which i did not stay because how rude they are. And yes they still charge me for for water and rent which was not in the contract. THIS APARTMENT IS A SCAM! MOVE IN GREAT AND LOVELY MOVE OUT TERRIFY OF THE FEE!!!

This was a great place to live till the new management. I loved it until I moved out and they charged me 1100 for carpet claim it wasnt clean. Mind you theres only carpet in the bed rooms. I called them spoke with someone who said they will call me back never reacieved a call but got a collection notice. With that being said no professionalism just greedy slump lords.... I would love for someone to contact me. Do your research before moving in.

My boyfriend and I were excellent tenants in these apartments for 4.5 years. We had no incidents or complaints and took very good care of the apartment we rented. About 2 months before we left, they pushed everyone to online pay only. They would no longer accept the cashiers checks I had been paying for the past 4+ years. Once you signed up for the online pay, you could pay with a debit or credit card, but you would be charged a fee. I was already paying almost $1000 for a 1 bedroom apt (that was not one of the updated ones) and didnt want to pay the fee, so I signed up for the auto pay (which was free). This is where my experience went south. For my final payment, they still charged the full months rent (even though it was supposed to be a pro-rated 1/2 month). A few days after rent, I went in and asked them about it. They informed me that it should have pro-rated, but after I moved out the following week, I would be reimbursed the $425 owed to me. I moved out April 15th and called in a week later to ask where the money was. They informed me that they were only going to be giving me back $94 (which I still have not received). I have tried to call numerous times to get this situated and no one has bothered to take the time to call me back and fix it. After having a wonderful experience there, I can honestly say that it is now the worst. I do not appreciate money being stolen from me and I would no longer recommend them to anyone.

Living here has been pretty perfect. No loud neighbors, the maintenance team is always quick and efficient, the amenities and apartments have been completed remodeled and the price is decent for what you get. The office staff can be kind of stand offish... but theyre not mean.

Their new billing system is garbage. They say theyve gone green but thats just a way of saying theyre cheapening up. Heres why:Going green in general would mean using less paper, or taking less paper payments such as checks, and migrating payments to an electronic system.Their system is flawed in both ways. First, their electronic payment system only works for a few days per month, at the beginning of the month. My utility bill was not posted on the first when I paid my rent, so I had no idea it was left unpaid. Now that its a week into the month, I cant pay electronically until the first part of next month! They shut off their e-billing system after about 5 days into the month. If my balance had been over $100 for utilities and I can only pay electronically, Id be charged late fees on a daily basis until the next month started and their e-billing was turned back on.The second way its not really a green system is they allow for cashiers checks. This isnt really a big deal to me as it allows customers that added convenience of paying, but its not going green. They justify it as going green by removing the ability to use a normal check to pay rent/utilities. This wouldnt necessarily pose a problem IF their electronic bill pay system worked during the month! But it doesnt! It only works 5 days out of the month! Customers must resort to taking time out of their day, spending gas to go to the bank and getting a cashiers check which is still paper, in order to pay and prevent any late fees from accruing. Its a flawed system that theyll ignorantly defend to the teeth while the reality of the insanity flies over their heads.Update: its halfway through the month & by this time Ive received two full identical pages posted to my door informing me that Im delinquent in my payments for the complexs utilities. This is also counter-productive to their own going green philosophy. They already know I cant pay over their app, nor will I take time out of my day to go to the bank and get a bank note. So theyre going to waste paper in an effort to go green. Thats just dumb.Update: I see they’ve responded to my initial review by saying it’s in my lease there’s a pay window.In response: Policies are made for people, not the other way around. Just because a business wants to flip a property by cheapening up on a billing system does not make friends. I lowered my rating to one star. No excuses; be friendly or get a low rating.

I came here because I am currently looking to reside in Mesa. Sarah was the lady to assist me. She showed me the floor plan on paper, and wrote down the price. After telling me that she couldnt show me the classic unit just the newly renovated. I declined the showing. She rudely snatch the paper off the desk, threw it in the trash, and got up and walked away from the desk. Not really sure what ticked her off but that was very rude. Hopefully she treats the residents better!!!!

I have lived here for quite some time, It is in a convenient location. Until recently the office management had changed. In my personal opinion the office staff needed to go, the assistant manager prior was very unprofessional, she would ignore people who go into the office, she never got back for any issues, & she had a very unwelcoming attitude. The new manager however is very knowledgable & very nice, she listened to all my concerns and problems and is fixing them. I look forward to the change she is doing to make this community better..

This place was my first apartment. Iv been here for 3 years with a half year hiatus. all I can say is I am truly sad to say bye to this place. the staff are so understanding and were helpful when things got bumpy for me. the maintenance staff are incredible in my opinion. i see them out all the time it seems like they never have a day off. every time i put it in work order it took no less than 24 hours to respond and even fix it. Emma, sarah, and liz were always so freindly and were understanding with my situations. the apartment its self was very nice as well. i has the renovated 2 bedroom, i belive the royal. thank you guys for everything!

Its sad, it is a descent property in the apartment world. Also had a great staff until a month ago. The previous Management and leasing team were great, the current Manager and whatever leasing team is left is the complete opposite. Manager leaves the property a lot, is rude, seems to not know what she is doing or how to run an office let alone a property. You ask questions and its like speaking to a child or someone with no answers. Im not sure if she is really that clueless or just acts that way to avoid answering difficult questions. BE WARNED, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY AND THIS COMPANY!

Move in day I was scheduled to puck up my keys when the office opened and the fact that they were on time was about as good as it gets here. Upon walking in the carpet was noticeably in horrible shape with stains everywhere. Apparently nobody had done a walk through at this point so Im not sure how they deemed the unit ready for move in. They did however get the carpet replaced that day which was nice if you like unloading a u-haul in the middle six these day. During my own inspection there was plenty of work done by matinence with more corners cut. The big thing was the sliding door which I was able to pull open even when locked with a good tug and I had asked to be fixed multiple times throughout my lease and they never did do anything besides shrug their shoulders. Tiles started falling off the shower and lots of mold started growing because if the hurried job in the guest bathroom and mold under the tub in the master for the same reason. I moved out two months early because I started feeling sick being there. My lease ends on Oct 1 and I was able to find a home to purchase unfortunately this left me short and unable to pay the last months rent on time so I spoke to the one of the leasing agents in person and on the phone about when I would be able to pay because apparently they do not accept any payment arrangements although she said they wouldnt start taking action till the 17th which was perfect. Well today is the 16th and I just found out that I was given a 5 day eviction notice yesterday. Yes I completely understand that they have a business to run but there is obviously no communication between employees or willingness to work with tenants so my advice to anyone looking to move here would be to make sure to check out other properties and if you do end up here be ready to deal with horrible parking and make sure to document everything no matter how small.

You get what you pay for! TL;DR Not bad, but ready to leave as soon as the lease is up. ★★I was happy to find the square footage we got for the price. For the most part, the unit itself is solid and spacious. We only hear our neighbors because they are door slammers downstairs and midnight vacuumers /stair stompers next door. Otherwise, it is a solid unit noise-wise.There were a lot of maintenance issues discovered after settling in. We made one work order up to get a dishwasher part replaced since the water spray arm was metallic and rusted out. It dripped rusty water after cycles.The unit was old, so they left a note saying theyd replace it in a week. Two weeks went by and they entered without notice. We keep our pups in the kitchen. We came home to a new dishwasher one day with a mess of dog poop and pee since they moved the pads we leave for them and did not replace them. No note. They left parts like the WIRE COVER out. After installing these units many times myself, I can assume they didnt have the right tool to screw it back into place since its a special driver, but at least hide the evidence of your novice ways.Days later, my wife and son were unloading the dishwasher and it fell forward with the weight of a loaded top rack being extended out for unloading. It wasnt even mounted to the cabinetry--so safe. I put in another work order and the guys came on schedule to take care of it, but they just screwed the unit directly, like, through the plastic wall of the dishwasher, to the cabinetry--they did not use dishwasher mounting clips. Too funny.The DAP Kwik Seal caulking in the tub myself as its already coming up. Note that they caulked pretty well, but the company provides the cheapest caulk on the market for them, so nightly toddler baths have it coming up within two months. Id use GE Silicone II--the good stuff. It looks cleaner and will last years.My shower doesnt drain because the pan is sloped and pools up on one side. The shower handle cartridge is not only old and stiff, but it is also installed upside-down so it is H for cold and C for hot. At least the paint job was nice!!!... but I bet they outsourced that job.No complaints about the office staff. Theyre attentive and always seem happy to see you. After working with some rotten attitudes in multi-family offices before, this is really pleasant and what separates this property from one Id give 1 star. They could walk the property more and get maintenance busy, though.Alliance should be ashamed of themselves for charging us another $80!!! for utilities for the cost of running THEIR business. Water is averaged so our water saving means little to our bill. I also wonder if residents are paying to keep their failure of a fountain pond running as they have to refill it 2-3 times a month. It needs to get filled with dirt and forgotten. The pump is old and LOUD.We also pay for garbage services when the dumpsters often go overloaded and unkempt. This goes back to the lackluster maintenance team and partly City of Mesa/Alliance for not providing recycling cans to keep them from filling too quickly. Its 2017--no recycling?? Wow.I think the second-worst part of the utilities cost is the common area lighting/gas. We pay for the property lighting, which to me is a cost of running business, not a luxury to be paid for by tenants. It should be factored into rent if anything. If all the lights worked (my local courtyard has 8 poles, only 4 with good bulbs) it might make it seem fair... but no. Broken lights are easy to spot at night, broken enclosures on every single post it seems. Hallway lights are covered in cobwebs and filled with dead bugs.Worst part? They charge us $ to have the bill sent to us!!! A service fee. LOL!Pet rent: Where does it go? NOT towards emptying pet waste receptacles or filling empty poop bag dispensers when they run out. Dog park? More like dog poop graveyard.In general, trash cans on property seldom get emptied. Mailbox trash cans are always flowing with junk mail and wind blows it into the pond.Classy. ★★

So glad i missed out and 12 months of horror!!This a very unorganized, unprofessional, lacks customer service, doesnt return your phone calls. etc... I dont think a new tenant should be treated so badly and should. Also when it comes to move in day dont tell you new tenant that there apartment is not ready especially when you call them 5 days in advance and scheduled an appointment to move in. Also you walked through the apartment before they cleaned it and there is dog doo doo all over in the living and in the carpet. Plus it STANK!! You tell me that you are just going to clean it. Sorry but who wants to live in someone else dogs doo doo. So glad we end up finding a different apartment and were prepared for this!! Do Rent Here
