I have had nothing but positive experiences with Northwestern. Angela has been amazing and Holly really cares about her employees. I had corporate experience after grad school and hated the rat race. I was a number in the company and the day to day was mind numbing knowing it wasnt going to take me anywhere. Northwestern Marketing is the complete opposite. I get promoted based off my merit. As a college athlete I love that. I get paid for my hard work vs my employer deciding my worth.

The interview process was amazing. I felt like the company really took time to get to know me and were very intentional with their explanation of the position. I was lucky to be offered a position and training is AMAZING so far. The people are awesome, and for the first time in my life I am excited to go to work.

I never actually applied to work in this company. A from human resources contacted me because she saw my resume in ZipRecruiter, she told me I was a good fit for an Entry Level Territory Sales Management Position. I was very happy and excited because I had googled the company, saw their Youtube channel, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. and it seemed as a very friendly place to work with growing opportunities. Also, they speak great about the owner Holly (which I didnt had the pleasure to meet), but they make it seem as if its a big family that travels, shares, and hangs out together (which I loved the idea).I, conducted my interviews (apparently he is a manager). They all seem very friendly. He explained it is a professional environment, but they are a big family that goes on hikes, listens to music on the office (during the first interview I mentioned that the office was at the Village in Meridian, Idaho. But, on the second interview I said that they HAD an office before, but all the work is from home and that they meet at restaurants to talk about business. So, this was a little weird to me). However, they do not tell you directly that the job will be A DOOR TO DOOR SALES.During one of the interviews (via Zoom), I explained the work. So, even though I was recruited as an Entry Level Territory Sales Management Position, I needed to start as an account representative, after some time you move into leadership, then to an assistant manager, and then to a manager, and it doesnt matter the position you apply and/or are recruited for, you go through this. I mentioned (because I asked him), that it would take 1 to 1.5 years to do this. Then I asked him about the actual job and I mentioned that it is a 10am - 7pm job. From 10-12 you learn leadership skills, communication skills and that kind of stuff (basically sales on Zoom), and from 12-7pm, you go knocking on leads houses (from a list they give you) to sell their services. The compensation, in my opinion, is very bad (for the kind of job, at 100-110 Fahrenheit). YES, they mention that you get bonuses from company and clients, but honestly for me it wasnt worth it.I asked I about the averages number of successful sales. I said that from an average of 90 houses you knock daily (in the sun at 100 degrees), only 30-40 open the door, and out of those 30-40 houses that open the door, you only sale, on average, about 2-4.The benefits they offer are very poor: healthcare is from the market place (apparently the company is too small to offer other kind of healthcare insurance for their employees), discounts at stores, restaurants and gym in the Village, and a 57% bill discount with AT&T.Even though they seem friendly I didnt like that they are not clear and transparent about the job from the beginning. They play mind games by calling you multiple times, to schedule interviews. They make it seem as if there are so many people applying to this important job... but honestly is not what it seems. SUPER DISAPPOINTED.VICTORIA B.

My experience with Northwestern Marketing Concepts started when I followed up with a job listing posted on Indeed. The job description stated that Northwestern Marketing Concepts was a marketing firm looking for a middle manager to supervise a team and we discussed the different methods of marketing. During my first interview they stated that their client list included big names like AT&T and some well known T.V. providers; I was actually super excited to be in the process of working with what I thought was a well established marketing group. I went though 2 more interviews, one of which was a 2 hour interview at 7am (6am my time) and finally a week after the third interview, they called to say that I had gotten the job. However they stated that the job they were offering me was door to door sales... upon more digging on Google it seems like the only thing this company does is door-to-door sales which was never mentioned in the interview process. It seems as if they are intentionally misleading people because when I brought up my concerns with the employee I have been talking to during this hiring process, I got blown off. I feel very misled, and hurt. 0/5 would not recommend.

I had the opportunity to go through 3 interviews with this company. They do seem very friendly and it appears that they may have a good work culture. However, from the other reviews I read online and from even asking questions during my interviews, they will not tell you directly that the job will be door to door sales. It felt as if they were a bit deceitful, presenting the job in a way that does not directly clarify that you will be doing door to door sales. It appears that this has also been experienced by others when reading the reviews. Also, I indicated that I was not interested in the job in my third interview because it does not fit exactly what I’m looking for, but the company still called me back after the interview to let me know I had not received the job, which was confusing since I had previously stated that this is not a job that will work for the season of life I’m in. This may be a good job for you if you intend to dedicate a lot of time to it, while also being willing to do door to door sales. Ask questions during the interviews to clarify what the day to day will look like to go in with an understanding of what the job entails.Edit - added after receiving a comment from Northwestern Marketing Concepts:Thank you for your feedback. However, after asking questions about door to door sales towards the end of my 2nd interview since this was never mentioned during the interview, I was told specifically by my interviewer that in the afternoons, if I did work with your company, that we would be going door to door using information given by companies working with Northwestern Marketing Concepts to try to sell people specific services for specific companies working with NMC. I understand that NMC may not call it door to door sales, but it still feels a bit deceptive to not be upfront with this aspect of the job. This company appears that they would possibly provide much professional growth, but even as seen in their response to my review, they might not be upfront that one aspect of the job will be going door to door.A previous employee of NMC left a positive Google review a year ago and shared many positive aspects of working for this company. However, she also stated this, “Many would qualify this position as “Door to door salesman”, the but the difference at this company being that you knock with more information on hand about the client than just showing up randomly.” This company honestly appears to have many positive aspects, but even as seen in this comment from a previous employee’s Google review, from other reviews I’ve read, NMC’s denial of this being an aspect of the job in their comment to my review, and also through asking questions during the interview since this was never mentioned, going door to door does appear to be an aspect of this job that NMC is not being completely upfront about.

Great company! I have the privilege to work here and it is a great experience. You get to work with amazing people and learn about business inside and out. The personal development you receive at this company is amazing. Im a completely different person now and I credit my personal and professional growth to this company. The president has decades of business experience allowing me to have a solid business coach to teach me the ropes. You are paid what you are worth and the president gives out a ton of bonuses which I took full advantage of. If your looking for experience or a career I highly recommend trying to get an interview! If you get hired, work hard and open a new location like 20 other people have done!

Look what our employees are saying!Blessed to work with a company that encourages and understands the beauty in giving back. Tonight our office donated $2,000 to a local elementary school and 4 carts of toys to the Toys for Tots program this Christmas. Thank you Holly for always setting the example and encouraging us to build our empires, not just for ourselves, but for those we get to help especially. Tonight my heart is full❤️

This review has both praise and caution in it.Let me first start off by saying that this 5 star review is for my experience with Holly, as well as with Sawyer (who I believe has moved on to start his own office). These two helped me so much with life lessons, and if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have learned to become as professional and polished as I am at my current job.I don’t work at NWMC anymore- I was there for two months. As an emotional person, the position really wasn’t for me. Many would qualify this position as “Door to door salesman”, the but the difference at this company being that you knock with more information on hand about the client than just showing up randomly. If you are thinking of working at this company, I would recommend going in with a strong heart, and committing to it all the way. It will be tough, but if you have the patience and the right leaders around you, you WILL be successful. Just remember it’s not for the fainthearted.I can guarentee you will learn a lot about yourself.
