Waverly isnt what it use to be. Ordered a grilled chicken salad today. No points for presentation or taste. Long wait and small portions.

Great outdoor area and barFood just okay

In the past, this has been a common place for us to go in the summer as we found the food to be consistently good and always enjoyed the availability of the outdoor seating. Today had to wait 43 minutes from order to receipt of food which alone would have not been worth a concerned review, but when I reviewed the check prior to payment (which I rarely do) I noticed a convenience fee, charge for marinara that was provided with the appetizer and not asked for, and a charge for a beverage that was not ordered. Being in the industry for over 20 years it is difficult for me to provide this feedback, but I was not happy with the experience and will take my business elsewhere going forward.

Pros. The food tasted good. Quick service. They had a nice band. An employee was kind to me. Cons. The bun for the shrimp po boy was chilled, sucking the heat out of the shrimp. The sidewalk area near the band looks pretty but it is hard to dance on, or and/or hard to walk on for people with older feet. Overall I will be back again!

Waited an hour and a half for a salad and a BLT. What a joke. We ordered the 2 easiest things to make because we were stopping for a quick lunch. Outside wasn’t even that busy maybe 4 tables. Inside 2 tables. The people next to us came in and ordered 15 min after us and got their food the same time. Food was cold. Menu has very limited items on it and 25% sounds good the other 75% doesn’t. They need to change

We were just there for a couple drinks and listened to the band. Its a very nice atmosphere, and there arent people running and yelling and trying to start fights. Its a place where 4 generations of a family can go and enjoy themselves.

Outside menu was limited and portions were small. Our waitress was very lacking, we had to ask for silverware, napkins and remind her to bring our drink order. When our food came we had to ask her again for silverware, napkins and sauces that were ordered with our food not to mention mayo on my sandwich that I asked for without. Then our bill was all messed up. Love the location and really hope they can figure it out.

Worst food ever. We had a party of 9 and all of our food was awful. From the Friday fish, to chicken Strips served with a splash of ranch in a cup that looked like someone had used it already! Completely grossed out....There are so many wonderful places to eat in the area, dont choose this restaurant.

Even though I live in the area, this was my first time at Waverly. What a neat venue! Beautiful view right on Lake Winnebago!Drove the 30min from De Pere to see The Glam Band. Huge, nicely decorated banquet/event room with a nice sized bar and plenty of restrooms so youre not waiting. We ate dinner first on their outdoor patio. The food was good, upscale, not just bar food, large menu. I noticed a huge outdoor bar also which would probably be used for venues once the weather is warmer. Ill definitely be watching the event calendar for Waverly so I can come back and enjoy this beautiful place!

Atmosphere cant be beat and the servers did the best they could despite the long wait time for food.....ordered off the app menu and still waited 45 minutes for our food...when it finally arrived it was cold. Thank goodness we had a beautiful view and a decent server or it would have gotten a horrible review.

Waverly Beach WAS one of our go-to choices for dining out. However, since the change in ownership the quality has gone down significantly. Changes to the menu include dropping the seafood platter as well as scallops. The perch is terrible (very fishy taste) and the baked potato that came with the meal might have been leftover from yesterday.I ordered an old fashioned sweet and was charged $5.00 for the drink and an extra dollar for the garnish. My companion asked for an extra tartar sauce and when the bill came we were charged an extra $.50 for it.All-in-all it was a lousy experience.

Has a big indoor concert/reception/volleyball area. On nice summer days the huge patio, corn hole games, and playground make the place good for the family. There is also beach access to the lake. Many boats anchor out and people wade in. Water is only2-4 feet deep for about 50 or so yards out.

Good food but not 5 stars however the location is unbelievable and every time we go the staff is excellent and always feels like they truly care.

The bartenders were awesome and super friendly. I ordered a salad to go, got home and opened it to be majorly disappointed. Quite a bit of the lettuce was wilted and brown. Threw about half of it out. To send food out like that is completely unacceptable.

First time here for the Old Salts Company Marine Corps Birthday dinner, our previous location closed down since last year.The staff was very friendly, great service and food. I wouldnt have minded a wider variety of beer selections to choose from, but Im also very picky about my beer! It was a great night overall, Im looking forward to next year!

It took over an hour for our food to arrive. When it did half of the food was room temperature at best. Really long wait times combined with horrible service. (Update) Youll see that Waverly responded to this original review with a contact email. I followed up by responding to the email they provided. They did not reply. This goes to show that Waverly doesnt care about the poor service they provide.

Food was good but service has a lot to be desired for. Upon waiting for our food I finished my drink, our bartender brought our food and failed to ask if we needed refills or new drinks and whats better yet is the other bartender was standing directly in front of us cutting and preparing lemons and condiments and never looked up to our empty glasses. Although the bartenders In question did appear to be friendly and more attentive to regular customers. Its too bad nice outside area with great view of the lake.

Great place overall. Lots of fun stuff to do outdoors, right by the lake. Nice bar area, and good (bar) food for the price.

We have always loved the atmosphere at Waverly. Our food was only fine, hence 4 stars, my husbands wrap was small and my beyond burger was pretty well done. Loved my summer drinks though! Will be back, if only for drinks and the view of the lake.

Cool tiki bar, classic margaritas could be better. But I still had fun.

In a beautiful spot on the lake, its a nice place to be. Prices are average, and service is great. I have only been here for events as they have a large indoor and outdoor space as well as two large extra rooms. This latest time I was here was for a volunteer project that they donated one of the rooms for, and they were very accommodating and helpful. Bathrooms were clean, the space looks great. Definitely a great place to host projects and events!

Sat in the outdoor bar area, the bartender covering my area was to busy wandering aimlessly at the opposite end to notice I was needing another beverage. It took the gal checking the stock, to finally ask if I needed anything. Food took a bit to get to me, even though I noticed others who arrived after I did, getting theres first. All I had was a simple burger.

On Sunday our group of 4 went to Waverly Beach. We arrived at 1230. We initially sat outside. We placed our order within 10 minutes of arriving or so, but the bees were pretty bad so we decided to move inside. We went and asked the bartender at the tiki bar to let our waiter know. A new waitress and our trainer came to our table within 5 minutes of being inside. We told them the waiters name and that he mentioned he had just clocked in. They said not a problem to transfer. After a couple minutes we ordered another round of drinks with them. It had been about 15 minutes since we had ordered our food. After an additional 15 minutes the waitress came snd told us that our initial order never was put in. We laughed it off. We blamed in on the bees and reput in our order with them. We now also ordered appetizers as we had been there for about 45 minutes. Our order was 2 salads, a wrap and a shrimp po boy. After an additional 30 minutes and another round of drinks, my son asked the waitress if we were ever going to get food. She thought he was joking and gave a flippant answer. Had he been joking and if at this point we hadn’t been there for about 1 1/4 hours, that would have been fine. We waited an additional 20 minutes and then angrily cancelled our order. It had been over 1 1/2 hours (45 minutes from the second order), and not even an appetizer. The manager said the kitchen had gotten slammed. I have to assume it must be an impressive take out orders as there were 5 tables inside and about 10 tables outside. Friends we have spoken to over the summer all have had similar experiences with Waverly. My family is in the service industry, and I feel 1 1/2 hours was being more than patient. If Waverly cannot handle a Monday afternoon, how in the world would they ever be able to handle an event or wedding? The owners and management need to wake up as to what is happening to their business. As it wasn’t very crowded on a very beautiful summer day, my guess is word is getting around. Also on a side note, watch your receipt. They charge a credit card convenience fee before you present method of payment…yes believe it or not they charged us for every single drink while we were there. When we asked about it, according to the manager if you don’t pay with credit card they remove it. Based on their performance, if you are paying with cash I would remind your server.

This isnt broasted chicken, why would you call it that on your menu? Is it normal for the fried fish to be served on a Styrofoam plate? Bar drinks served in plastic glasses. Nachos were cold and completely underwhelming. Waited around an hour and a half for boring food. Id rather have had kwik trip.Our poor server was great. Dont remember her name.

First time there under new ownership, food and service were excellent. Had to wait a pretty long time for the food, but our server was very attentive.

We were in town for our sons college baseball world series, and this place was recommended to us by the locals. We had a group of 20+ (we made reservations earlier that day). The food was very good. I wish we could have gone during the day, but we got there in time to take an outdoor group photo by the water. It was a cloudy day, and had been raining so next time Id like to eat outdoors on a sunny day!

Sunday afternoon band was fabulous. Sat down for dinner at 5:45pm, received the meal at 7:20pm. Perch dinner for husband was good, wrap for me was not good.

Waverly pub is on dicotimus place.The waiting staff is great, save one. Burnt my tongue on the 180° F haddock, off the children menu, the bouncer Antwan is constantly hounding me. Bands are unconditionally awesome! Redwing salon is open from 9 to noon, no appointments necessary Superlative clientele Bill is my favorite bartender . I love the place, you gotta go really signed Chris Van Der Steen . The devil is into detail. God is one strange passenger on the firmament peace out

Terrible service but the patio area was beautiful. Food was cold by the time it got to us so I would never eat there again. I would absolutely come back for drinks and to relax but never to dine.

Nice atmosphere. Great view of the lake. Bloody Mary wasnt bad either.

Great experience Bill the bartender was awesome and gave excellent service.Only downside was the family with no sense of humor or taste in music. My friend destiny and I had touch tunes and were playing banger after banger and her negative attitude brought down the whole mood. She kept making comments under her breath and refused to approach us with her issues. She choose to take the immature route and just leave instead of spending some money on touch tunes so she could play her own tunes. Disappointed in that family but otherwise great experience!

Its a celebration in Appleton of the season opening of sturgeon spearing on Lake Winnebago. Saturday and Sunday, February 9 and 10th 2019 with food and drinks in side. Sturgeon catch will be checked by DNR. There is lots of activity inside and out and the parking lot will fill and tables will be taken quickly by noon so start early. Enjoy the day with your winter toys on the lake and observe sturgeon as they are brought in for registration,

3 stars because its a nice establishment, service was great but the fact they couldnt keep the insects outside & someone in my party lemonade had a couple bugs in it. Other then that nice place

Very disappointed tonight. While Dave Steffens was playing. Someone placed the yard sprinkler in a place where several motorcycles got real wet. That was uncalled for. The manager dislikes Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Its been obvious for years.Its real sad that this happens.Why should I come back?

Told we had to wait an hour for food but didn’t even place an order. Been sitting here for half hour we now decided to leave. Going to the Stone Toad with no wait. We will not be giving them a second try.

We had a wonderful experience. We went last Sunday to try the Broasted Chicken. So many people were there really enjoying themselves. The yard needed more service attention although everyone was having a great time. Live band, drinks, dancing and food . This was my favorite picture I believe that I have ever taken. Thanks Waverly.

A cant miss destination during the summer. Went out of my way in my 40-mile bike ride of the Fox cities to stop here.

Party was hosted here for my wifes work at Lamers... Wonderful chicken dinner their cold pasta side dish was delicious!!Home made cookies were fabulous!!Great experience!!

The location and view is perfect. The restaurant is huge and the outdoor dining is one the largest Ive ever seen in the Midwest.Service was very good. Our server was attentive but not obnoxiously so. Had refills before completely empty.Food is decent. Its a Midwestern lake front casual dining place with burgers, sandwiches, friday fish fry etc and they do it well.

Food was good, 5 star worthy. But there were two 14 year olds playing music from their phones. This playlist sounded like one person with good musical taste and one with bad musical taste had an iPod together and, the one with wretched music taste used it 3/4 the time, and it was on shuffle playing at max volume. And on top of that, when we were leaving they said “yeah we’re paying for this” in synchrony. I wanted to say back to them “actually your dad is” but I had 1 pint of human decency left so, I didn’t. After this experience I came up with an idea, before letting people play music on the speakers that is so bad you will want to bleach your entire body, they should ID you and check your playlist, just to make sure. Other than that it was a pretty good place by the water. Biggest mistake was not getting an outside seat.

Waverly is a great place to enjoy a nice meal with the family, great customer service. But the breading on the fish was not that great. Ranch tasted very generic, almost like straight out of the bottle. The tater sauce was a bit to sweet. Maybe I just chose the wrong meal to enjoy a nice meal here, but definitely not my best experience.

Server-Kyle was absolutely amazing!!!! Haddock seemed slightly undercooked but this was their special for the night so Im sure they were trying to move them out quickly...I would go back though

Great place to visit and dine at during the summer. Lots of outdoor activities and great scenery right by the water. Very family friendly. We were there for a wedding and they have a nice hall area. I dont know if they make the food for those events but that wasnt great compared to their normal menu.

Price raise with new owners. Not worth it for the amount of food on the plate.

First time here and it seems like a nice place. The drinks and food were decent. Very large outdoor patio. Unfortunately, I was dying from the heat and the umbrella wasnt doing much. Very happy we had plastic chairs and not metal ones!

Nice space for concerts and okay bar food

The view and vibe is the draw. There are very few times I have been that disappointed by something deep fried. Had the fried pickles and it was 95% batter and just tasted like I was snacking on fried greasy batter bits.Had the fried walleye, Luke warm and once again dry/hard crusty batter. I had 3 bites of the (actually well proportioned) walleye dinner. Fries seemed like fried this morning hard dry crinkle cuts.Specialty drinks tasted like watered down fruit juice.Waitress and customer service was great. View was great and looked like the happening place for locals.If you go, I’d stick to the burgers

Wasted $35 on an Uber one way to be told, upon arrival, the kitchen was closed. We called ahead and it claimed to be open till 11. This is a lie. Kitchen actually closes at 8, or whenever it decides to close.

I love their tiki bar and patio on warm summer days. The Friday fish crowd is usually very busy. It was a 45 minute wait on Friday at 5:45. Grab a cocktail at the bar and pass the time. The bartender Emma was very nice. She made me a cocktail that wasnt on the menu even though she had to spend extra time on it. The Perch sandwich and onion rings were great. This is my first choice for a patio bar in Appleton.

We stopped for late lunch on a Sunday, we loved the lakeside seating, band playing & great food. add in the bag toss, grassy area for chairs & kids playground you have family fun!

Seemed very nice. Was there for my nieces beach wedding which was beautiful! Couldnt stay for reception due to COVID, cant say how food was.

I was there tonight March 3rd 2020 for the Darboy Kiwanis Taste of the town Event. There were about 20 different restaurants that came in and had samples from their restaurant or from their Bakery. It was $25 to get in. And it was a very enjoyable evening. When they have it next year take the time to attend it because you will enjoy it.

Taco Tuesday didnt dissapoint. And I made Happy hour.. buy one get one drinks! Whoo!!! 10/10

Good food, decent amount of choices, friendly staff, lots of outdoor seating thats nicely spaced out. Pretty decent view and lots of outdoors games and things to do, especially for kids who may not want to sit still while the adults hangout and chat.

Wonderful evening at Waverly Beach. The games on the grass, watching the families play together, laughing and smiling what a joy. The music was loud enough to enjoy but you could still talk. Wait staff was excellent, attentive and efficient! The food was delicious. The menu was varied giving everyone an option. Great place and we are looking forward to returning soon!

I have never seen such disrespect before in my life. I didn’t realize that bouncers now don’t have to ID everyone, As long as they look old enough they are told they look old and they don’t need to see it. How rude to say to anyone. And they singled only one girl out, We walked in with at least 15 of us for a party and they had no one in the bar so they lost out on a lot of business from us because after I had a chat with the bouncer who disrespected a girl with us they kick me out, so everyone else followed. If I was you I would find a different place to go to and never go back.

Good food and drinks. Great bands on Sundays overlooking the lake. Really a good time.. wish they had more setting outside for band listening.

Food was very good and reasonably priced The ambiance and view were nice. The waitress we had was extremely rude. We had a very small group for a funeral luncheon and she got very upset when we had 3 more people than originally expected.

Great venue. I just wish they had docks for boaters to be able to come in and drink and dine and enjoy the fun too!
