The cars are never ready at the scheduled time for pickup. Plan on waiting at least 30 minutes to an hour after you check in for your car to be detailed and brought around to you. Also my husband made the reservation in his name do his rewards account but we paid with my credit card. When completing the paperwork they asked for my ID when I acquired why they said because we were using my credit card. They never spoke of an additional charge. When leaving we realized we were charged an extra $100 for an additional driver. This was never told to us. So just sharing to help the next person.Update to my review-we were contacted by Enterprise and they corrected the issue of being charged for the extra driver. They were apologetic and helpful. I appreciate them correcting the issue. This has caused me to raise my overall rating from two stars to four stars.

I called this location at 10 minutes before they were closing and asked if they could wait for me to get there. I had never been there before and I was going to be there about 5-10 minutes after closing. Hunter Mitchell said that he would wait and had the appointment team get all my information so that he would be all ready for me when I arrived. When I got there Mr. Mitchell was not only ready for me but, I had a choice of 3 vehicles (he said that he wanted to be sure that I was comfortable) and from there it was pretty much sign and go! I can’t say enough about Enterprise as a company and especially about Hunter Mitchell and the kind folks at 7006 Mechanicsville Tpke Va!! Thank you Great customer service!!!

One of the things I must say about this location is that two individuals who work there are world class professional outstanding honest and just great all around guys their names Hunter and Ian they will go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that you have a great experience and that you won’t stress while renting a car. They did that for my wife and I on two different occasions and for that we are forever grateful. Both our vehicles had to be at the shop for repairs literally back to back and Mechanicsville Enterprise location Hunter and Ian and some others were the very best. I will never rent from anyone else.

Great staff, pricing, and vehicle line up

When I arrived, one employee was on his cell phone talking loudly on his speaker phone. His conversation consisted of his workouts. Then I was privy to what seemed like a conference call he was on on speaker as I waited for my car to be pulled around. Extremely unprofessional. When I received the car, the employee had me sign and initial everything then gave me the keys without offering me the opportunity to walk around the car. He told me “I already did it and didn’t see anything.” I insisted I do the walk around for myself too and pointed out some things which he mentioned were not big enough to report because they were considered “normal wear and tear.” To make matters worse, I was given a car with low tire pressure and didn’t realize until driving off when I received the warning. I had to turn back around to let them know. When I walked back into the office, there was 4 employees sitting in there with 2 on the phone. I was not acknowledged by anyone, nor was I greeted by anyone. The two employees who were not on the phone both looked at me, 1 pulled out his cell phone and the other got up to go to the bathroom. After about 5 mins of standing there, I was finally helped when the gentleman who originally helped me got off the phone. I told him the issue. He checked the dashboard and had me pull the car around to the rear of the building to have one of the attendants put air in all 4 tires. Lastly, while driving this evening I noticed all the windows are dirty with a greasy film which caused a bad glare. Terrible representation of this company, and poor customer service skills. I do not recommend renting from this location.

Got there at 8am but no full size cars available, however the employee was very nice and help accommodate me when I got back at 130pm. I appreciate both of them and they was respectful and car was clean. This is my 4th time renting from this location.

This is an Awesome location! The staff there is so personable. I needed to switch my vehicle and they did without any hesitation! When needed, this will be my location of choice!

I found the staff at the Mechanicsville location to be more than just accommodating. They went out of their ways to make sure that I was handles efficiently and courteously.

The customer service and ease of the transaction was great, but I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the exterior. In all fairness, it snowed over the weekend but that was 5 days ago. Im not sure when the car was returned, but Ive never received a dirty car in the 15+ years that Ive rented with Enterprise.

Made a reservation on line. The car I wanted was not available when we got there but they got us something better. They process was super easy and the staff was extremely professional and friendly.

Very pleasent and quick service. Ive had appointments multiple times and the cars werent available unfortunately. I now call to make sure one has my name on it before picking up. Otherwise, no issues.

Went to pick up rental car and first car I was given had a horrible odor throughout of cigarettes or cigars. I explained I couldn’t take the car and was given a second one. It was the same model but different color and again total car smelled of cigarettes or cigars. Entire time I had it everything left or placed into the car including ourselves smelled like smoke. I’ve rented from this enterprise location many times and had good experiences but this time not good.

Worst experience of my life. Had some issues and the manager named Hunter was very un resourceful in helping resolve my issues. Kept giving numbers that didnt work, and then told me to call another number to report the non working number. I asked Hunter to report it and his response was very similar to its not my job attitude . Very un professional and rude. Never rent there or Enterprise again.

I just finished another great rental from Enterprise, Mechanicsville, VA. From picking me up right on time, to having exactly the type of car I reserved, to the friendly and courteous service that got me on my way, it was an excellent experience. I had no problems with the car over the 9 day rental. Return was just as pleasant, and the staff remembered why I was there. They asked about various events I was there for, and were genuinely interested in how well things went. I have been renting from this office for over 12 years and have never had a bad experience. Representative Jamar Carter was exceptional. He greeted us with a smile, was very professional and knew his job throughly. Any questions we had he knew the answers immediately without hesitation.Excellent customer service. On that is lacking so often with many customer facing businesses.I will do more business with this location in the future, great experience.

Customer service was good bit the car was horrible, I literally left the car sitting in driveway because is smelt like pot..skunk weed after I sprayed it with febreeze .. left car sitting while we went on vacation only to come home in 90 plus degree weather and the smell was even stronger.. calked for them to pick up car and they put me on the back burner charging my insurance company..car still sitting at my home..been on hold for 27 minutes to call and see if there going to puck up this var or not...not a happy camper..

Rented and charges were overstated. Been two months attempting to resolve. Three Enterprise Reps indicated the charges were in error but charges remain on credit card. Four emails indicate Regional Rep will be in touch. It has not happened. If it is an error, fix it. That simple.Update: Charges were corrected after posting this review.

I am a frequent renter who visits the Mechanicsville, VA Enterprise location on Mechanicsville Turnpike weekly to pick up vehicles for business travel. I have been extremely impressed with the level of service provided by the entire Enterprise team at the Mechanicsville location. The team always welcomes me with courtesy as I walk in the door, and their prompt and efficient processing gets me out and on the road with ease. The team at the Mechanicsville Enterprise location are always there to take care of my rental needs, and I am both pleased and delighted with my decision to do business with Enterprise.

Arrived to pick up car and was 3 hours past my pick up time. The assistant manager Ian Brown let me know that because I was late they had given away my car and had nothing to offer. He did not attempt to contact another location or do anything. He then quickly wrote down his Area managers name Anthony. I called him immediately and left a message. He has still not returned my call. I was more than disappointed in this customer service. I then phoned the main Enterprise number and spoke with someone who apologized for this and tried to find an alternative. She stated someone would be in touch with me however no one has called. All of this happened 4 days ago. Will not use Enterprise again.

I reserved an economy car but when I arrived I was told the only vehicle available is a Dodge Big Horn 1500 with a Hemi motor, I ended up paying 3 times the amount I would have in an economy car. It was also hard for me to get in and out of abd very stressful to drive as Im not used to a large truck.The young man that helped me was very pleasant and it wasnt his fault. I feel that if you have a reservation for an economy car then one should be made available

They were short-handed and there was a delay in my getting my car, but the rental agent on duty was apologetic, quick, and friendly. His degree of customer service went a long way to keep this from being a negative experience.

Fast friendly service. They had the type of vehicle I wanted. The vehicle was ready for pick up as scheduled. I had no issues while driving the vehicle and dropped it off after hours, which was simple to do with a key drop available to complete the task.

Though my initial experience started off somewhat frustrating due to my reservation not being ready on time my overall experience was salvaged thanks to Brady! He worked as fast as he could to ensure I would not be unnecessarily delayed. From cleaning to fueling my rental he was very attentive and understanding of my frustration. Overall I would recommend Brady and this location.

The absolute worst customer service experience. Dylan Price, branch manager, has no tact in dealing with customers. Unfortunately my company has partnered with Enterprise so I have to continue to rent cars from them but I will go out of my way before I ever have to work with the Mechanicsville location again. I will also be lodging a complaint with the area supervisor in hopes that he will spend time with Dylan and improve his customer service skills. Do yourself a favor and work with a location with a professional staff.

3 stars as that $200 deposit pains me. Yet, I have had nothing but good experiences with enterprise. Vehicles are always in good condition. Mr. Carter at the Mechanicsville, VA location is very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.

Had to have a 7+ passenger vehicle, deff had one on hold for a few days as we needed it fast for a funeral. Got there, they wouldnt take my card without some kind of bill... went to another enterprise they were the same but $500 more expensive! Finally after going to yet another enterprise, not without headache, we hit the road. They said it HAS to be back by no later than 4PM Sunday evening so I cut my family time shorter and returned only for no one to checkout my returned vehicle, even stating on the building that if you leave and you opt to use the dropbox for keys, you are assuming ALL responsibilities for ANY damages even if you have proof you didnt do it..... so done.............

Amazing experience with Enterprise in Mechanicsville! I reserved a medium/mid-sized truck and when I showed up it was damaged. They went out of their way to find another truck for me. Once they found the truck it was very dirty inside so they took the extra time to clean it. Unfortunately, we had to wait approx. 2 hours before we finally got our vehicle but they upgraded us to a large truck at no extra cost as it was a problem on their end and the long wait! Every one was so super friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be using them for all my future rentals!

Enterprise is a mixed blessing. This us where your insurance is going to send you if you have a claim. Youll get a car and have wheels, so thats good. On the other hand, you can try to reserve a specific model, but they dont even attempt to honor those reservations. Thats just how enterprise is, so deal with it.

Good experience we rented twice from this location. Very transparent with pricing and no hidden fees. I can’t say that about other companies. I would recommend.

Last week I had a need for a car rental that, depending on circumstances, may or may not have been a “one way” rental. The staff handled it perfectly, and I appreciate their flexibility. Great car rental experience.

I had to rent from them because my insurance company uses them, but god forbid that happens again I’ll be renting from a different location. The man who processed my rental tried to rent me a dirty SUV because the size I was approved for was not in stock. He first claimed it was not washed on the outside because their hose was frozen. Upon further inspection it was clearly never cleaned inside or out. Then he rented me another SUV and after driving it away the car alerted me that there was no windshield washing fluid in it. Because their hours are terrible, I was never able to have this replenished. At the time he quoted me a price which was said to include taxes and fees. However, the manager of the location calls me two days early to let me know it was due back that day and that I was over my insurance allowance. She was kind enough to cover the overage because of the original person’s misinformation, and I never would have left a review after her call. Later on though, I receive a call from the man you originally rented me the car following up and incorrectly stating the day I turned the car in and that frustrated me. Had he done his job properly I could have retained the car for the days I needed it instead of leaving my family without a car. I won’t go to this location again, and probably won’t rent with the company again. I cannot stand customer service people who half-ass their job, as I have done this for the majority of my careered life.

Had to take my car in for repairs. When I got there the representative was there waiting for me with the vehicle. They had a vehicle the was similar to mines. When I pick my car up from the repair shop they came to get the rental. Everything was wonderful.

I have used this location several times to rent cars and have always been pleased. The staff is friendly and always looks out for me. I even introduced my daughter to them so now she is renting from them also. The cars are always up to date, clean and they have an excellent selection to choose from.

I rented a nissan rogue for a week. I was very pleased with the vehicle and the rental cost. I received excellent customer service up until I returned the vehicle. The female, who I believe is the manager of the Mechanicsville store, never once acknowledged me. I completely understand she was with a customer when I arrived, but when she walked out with the customer to get her a rental, the manager walked past me, looked at me, and walked out. A simple ,I will be with you shortly would have been sufficient. But to not even acknowledge my presence is totally unacceptable. Hertz is right down the road and has the same prices.

Happy to find an enterprise office right in Mechanicsville. The people were friendly and helpful. We used Amex points and though the staff wasnt familiar with them they found out how to handle them fairly quickly. We were very pleased with our experience.

I fully enjoyed the vehicle I rented; HOWEVER, they were 45 minutes late picking me up. This made me late to meeting my group for a field trip and thereby causing the group to leave late. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE RECEIVED.

I rented a car up in Massachusetts, it was the most unsafe car I ever had !!! Merging into traffic was so scary. No get up at all. Then it started to rain and one of the wipers didnt work. The car smelled like wet dog. The worst part about the whole experience was the fact was that the man who rented me the car knew it was unsafe !!! He said that he drove it into work that morning. Danvas Mass. Is not a place to go to. This place is not to be trusted, if you have to use them be careful everyone !!!

I rent here often for business purposes, but I am considering renting down the street at Hertz. On my most recent visit, I was headed to Washington, DC for a meeting. I was greeted with a curt hello and a blank stare. Did the words how may I help you? die with the millennial generation? After assigning me my rental, I was informed as a final detail that the tank was only 1/4 full and that I could just bring it back that way. Meanwhile there were three employees sitting on their duff in the office. How about filling up the tank before you give it to a customer? Why am I taking time out of my schedule to fill up the tank before I can even reach my destination? And then I had to ask for my salesperson to go with me to the neighboring lot at A.C. Moore where customers are required to park. Its not my problem that Enterprise is trying to cram too many vehicles on a tiny lot. And by the way, I bring the rental back to your parking lot even when I have my son with me at night and dont feel entirely safe walking across vacant lots. The least you could do is accompany me to my car when picking up the rental so I dont have to backtrack another trip. Finally, I get to the BP across the street to fill up before I can get on the road, and my bank is alerting me to a $1700 hold on my credit card because the salesperson made a typo. Nice. It was not a good start to the day. I know the employees there are in their first job, but they need to step it up. The Enterprise training program used to have a wonderful reputation of training from the ground level and promoting within the company. The standards have really dropped. Oh, and there is nowhere on the Enterprise website to contact someone to submit feedback directly. I am writing this review because this is how Enterprise requests feedback after a rental.

Very nice people. They were willing to pick me up and take me home after I returned the car. When the website said no cars were available, I called them and they called me as soon as a car was returned and available.

I have been using Enterprise Rental for 3 years and am now an Enterprise Plus member. The service and cars are excellent! ! I have no need to seek rentals elsewhere because I know the service and cars would not be comparable to Enterprise.

I was not please with my experience this time at Enterprise. What I talking about is, I started with one representative, we went through the process and finance information. We talked about what vehicle I wanted and the representative agreed, however, we had a short break, the representative went to talk to another customer. This representative asked another representative to assist me. Instead of starting where I left off, we started over again and at the end of this process, this representative said the vehicle that I wanted was not available . I was disappointed and I advised this representativw, how unpleased, I was! The representative was showing me another vehicle, when the vehicle I wanted was turn-in. The representative said that I had to wait(20 minutes) while they clean and wash the new vehicle. I did not feel overall welcome, as in the past, but, did received the miminal services. My wife, Aurelia and I, Thomas, did not received first class service.

The staff was quite courteous and polite, I actually got an upgrade that I did not have to pay for. The locations could not have been better. Enterprise has been my number one for many years now.

Decent experience here; not sure if I’ll go back however. Friendly staff and plenty of associates on a busy Monday morning got several customers on their way in less than 15 minutes at the same time. My only issues were that the young man behind the counter didn’t tell me there was a difference in rates from a mid size suv to a large one. Had to have the branch manager adjust the rate down to a mid size when I turned vehicle in. She was very helpful. Also, I had to pay to have the vehicle washed since it was to cold for the workers to do it that morning and I couldn’t see out the back window. The outside of the vehicle was filthy. Lastly, Enterprise should have called me several days before I turned in vehicle since they knew my insurance company was only going to pay up to a certain amount and day for a rental. I would have turned in the vehicle earlier to save myself the out of pocket expense.

ERAC was supposed to pick me up from the dealership. When they failed to show up the dealership drove me to ERAC. They had only one car to choose from and it was dirty inside and out. Sadly, the worst experience Ive ever had with ERAC! The staff were friendly but not apologetic for the oversight and lack of cars.

Enterprise prides itself on its customer service. We rent often, and although a couple of the vehicles have had small problems, the staff has been 100% on point.

They never have the car you choose when reserving online. We always rent the smallest car and end up with either a truck or van.
