The LEAP ACT class offers basic strategies and info, plus time to take practice tests. The individual tutoring is extremely helpful in reviewing specific strategies and content. We loved Leaps ACT Perfect Practice Program. It was helpful to have so much repetition on the test taking, and then getting it scored with feedback. This allowed my daughter to go work on what she was missing and practice more in those sections. She had a 5 point increase in her test score.

My husband and I debated about using a test prep company to help increase our daughters score on the ACT. We had heard some positive things about LEAP and decided to give it a shot.I cant speak to how LEAP is compared to other places as we utilized their services for our oldest child. However, Sheri from LEAP took the time to call me and discuss the program in depth and answer all of my questions. I had several questions, including the amount of work that my daughter would be required to do after each class. Not only were we spending our money, but our daughter needed to be invested and agree to do the work required of her to make it worthwhile.We felt that if our daughter could score over a 30 on the ACT, the return on the investment could be considerable. After the group class, our daughter improved her score by 2 points. We also invested in 10 individual tutoring sessions that LEAP recommended based on the results we hoped for our daughter to achieve. After these individual sessions, our daughter increased her ACT score by another 2 points, getting her over the 30-point mark we hoped for her to achieve.We are so proud of our daughter for all her hard work and investing the time to achieve the lofty goal she set for herself. Sheri was very professional and offered a tailored one on one tutoring plan after reviewing my daughters initial test scores. This plan included support in areas to improve, but also suggested tutoring in areas where she scored well to maintain results. My daughter found her two tutors helpful, and did the homework and practice tests they suggested on a weekly basis. All of this resulted in a 4 point composite improvement moving her into the top 3% nationally. WOW! I believe the guidance LEAP provides is absolutely worthwhile when coupled with the student doing the work outlined in between tutoring sessions.

We used Lisa and the LEAP staff for our son who is now in his junior year in college and thriving. If this is your first time going through the college process, their guidance is a must. We used most services that included career coaching, resume help, determining college list and what schools to target for merit aid, interview preparation, and negotiating college scholarship offers. So glad we used LEAP - they helped my daughter raise her ACT Composite score by 7 total points. She took the class in person and her score went up 3 points. She wanted to try to raise it a little more, but thats right when COVID hit. I was skeptical about remote tutoring but we signed up and she did it via Zoom with Jay and Logan. I am a first time college applicant mom and wasnt sure where to turn in the area of ACT prep. LEAP came recommended to me by several friends and family members so I gave them a call. From the initial conversation, it was clear they knew this process inside and out and gave me relevant and clear suggestions. My son called me after his first tutoring meeting and said this is awesome - she really knows here stuff. Hard to believe from a 17 year old boy...but true! The LEAP Program has been an invaluable tool to help us guide our three daughters through the entire college application process. LEAP provided a learning plan specific for my son based on his previous scores, current classes, etc. My son was hesitant at first, but started to enjoy the classes as he learned great tips and tricks on how to navigate the tests. His ACT scores increased a full 9 points in less than a year. He will take it one more time and with the practice exercises, I know he will continue to improve.I recommend LEAP to all students -- it cant hurt and can only help.

LEAP is a valuable organization which helps students and parents walk the high school experience toward college. We are in the midst of our second child going through the program. It has been just as helpful as the first round. As a parent, the wealth of knowledge received from the blogs and webinars are helpful to stay focused and make informed college decisions. The staff are resourceful and responsive in making the best individualized plan for each student. My child set his own ACT goals. He completed the program and raised his score which exceeded his expectations. Our family is thankful for the guidance and encouragement they have given us along this journey.

Our son had a primary college in mind that had considerable merit scholarships available if he could score a 30 on the ACT. After taking his first test and attending the LEAP ACT prep class he scored a 24. We decided to invest in individual tutoring services through LEAP to see if that could help his cause. The tutors (one for math, one for the remaining subjects) met with him 1-on-1 to go over test-taking techniques, reviews of practice tests and assigned practice homework before the next session. After these sessions of tutoring you could see he felt more comfortable with the testing process and had more confidence going into the test. The second test resulted in a 28.After a small break we decided to try additional tutoring sessions in order to reach the 30 mark. He did get a different tutor for one part, and that actually turned out to be a great thing. He was able to pick up additional tips and viewpoints from this new person and combine that with what he had already learned. The 3rd attempt resulted in a 31 ACT score, so over the course of working with LEAP he improved 7 points over 2 tests!I mentioned earlier that the tutoring fees were an investment - the total amount we spent on tutoring over the 2 test cycles was appx. 10% of what was gained in merit scholarships, so that is quite a return on investment. I would highly recommend the ACT tutoring services for your child.

I could not be more pleased with this program! Both of my children completed LEAP’s ACT-SAT Prep Essentials Course after their first attempt on the ACT and ended with composite score increases of 3 and 7 on their second attempt. We have worked with LEAP and used many of its services. Our experiences have been excellent. One of the best experiences has been with my sons ACT preparation. One by one we brought our 3 boys to the LEAP program, and had them take the Birkman test to help them recognize their own personality and how specific careers would be a good match for them. The people at LEAP are very thorough and have an in-person meeting to explain the data and the opportunities to each student.

I both attended their classes and had tutoring there, and it was 100% worth it. From tips for the act specifically and test-taking in general, this program has it all. I couldnt have gotten my 36 on the actual act without them. 10/10 would recommend.

The tutoring for the ACT made a huge difference for my son. Learn from my mistake. I tried to save some money by having him tutor only 1 subject and study the others on his own for 2 of his ACT tests. His composition score resulted in the same score both times. This score was respectable and good enough to get in to schools, but not amazing. The 3rd time he took it (which was going to be his last) we just said, study on your own and hope for the best and see what happens. Well, his composite went DOWN 1 point. Well, here is where the proof comes in that tutoring works. After finding out that his math score needed to be 2 points higher to get into the program he wanted in college we decided to give it 1 last ditch effort and go for round 4. He had to at least maintain his current highest composite AND go up 2 in math. So the plan, tutor ALL subjects. He tutored 4 days a week to cram it all in that month before the test. The result - up 5 In his composite score! Up 4 in his math! Obviously the tutoring made a HUGE difference. So my lesson to you, trying to save money in the beginning ended up costing us way more in the end. If I had followed Sheri’s advice to tutor ALL subjects after his 1st test to get the score we wanted would have most likely saved him 2 extra tests and headaches in prepping and saved us $$$. LEAP did a great job and I highly recommend them.

They were more helpful than I could ever imagine. Leaps team of professionals were with me and my family through the entire journey. There amazing tutors got my ACT composite score up 8 points. They also helped me select which schools I should apply to along with what major I should select. I definitely wouldn’t of been able to stay on track applying to 12 schools through 3 different applications if I didnt have their guidance. Also Leaps expertise in editing essays was way better than my friends that used other services. I will happily will be attending my #1 school this fall something that they played a GIGANTIC part in! I truly cannot thank them enough!

All three of our children have used LEAP programs at various times. The tutoring and college preparation LEAP has given our family have been outstanding. Communication with the program coordinators and tutors has been excellent. They have been wonderful partners as our girls journeyed through high school.

So pleased with Leap. Their group classes are a great start that helped both of my kids improve their scores. But the detailed personalized tutoring plans and the tutors are just amazing. They are very honest and upfront. One of my kids did not have a lot of room for dramatic improvement given his specific subject scores and they didn’t recommend I spend additional money on tutoring. I was pleased with their transparency. My second child, however, they predicted could see significant improvement with focused tutoring and while my child was reluctant to see the need for some of the sessions they recommended, he followed through with their exact tailored plan and improved his score by 4 points! We could not be happier with this organization and their leaders and tutors. He now qualifies for free tuition instead of 33% off tuition at his chosen school. A huge savings for us - thank you Leap!

If your child has finished algebra 2 as a sophomore, they can prepare and take ACT over summer after sophomore year and early fall of junior year. Getting testing potentially done early would be nice We did not find LEAP until later--but I agree with LEAPs recommendation of not taking ACT or SAT blindly. You will safe money if you do some test prep first, so you can hopefully only have to take test twice at most!

I worked for LEAP for a year, and while I enjoyed most of the staff, I found the owner to be argumentative, inflexible, and occasionally spiteful. The tutoring services are excellent, as are many of the tutors, but I would not suggest working for the company.

This organization does not treat its tutors professionally. The administration tends to micro-manage employees and verbally degrade them. It is all about the almighty dollar to this company.
