We gotta keep it quiet. We dont want to over work the staff at Bolyards. Best butcher in town, with the best sandwiches and dont forget the stock too. Highly recommend ordering a Turkey at Thanksgiving. Though a bit pricey. By far the freshest, best turkey. Only downside.....those rare occasions, when I have to purchase meat from grocery store. Grocery store meat doesnt taste right.

Sorry all you big fans, my sandwich was a huge disappointment. I got the roast beef sandwich. The bread was very fresh. The beef was virtually tasteless. There were grilled sweet onions on top that were all I could taste. This was literally a sweet onion sandwich. I should have sent it back and asked for a refund, but I just trashed it. Sad for a butcher shop.

So many menu items keep us coming back. Smash burger--the best we have ever had. Fries--addictive. All the pickles are beyond good! Specialty sandwiches--yum! Charcuterie--so good. (can you add some cheese?) Seasonal salads--really loved the one with asparagus. We havent tried the brunch, yet..but we will!

Straight up amazing fries - Id go there for these alone. I also got the dip and found it to be one of the best Ive had. Will definitely be returning.

Had a delicious lunch outside with my son. Smash burger and chicken salad sandwich were delicious! The fries were excellent as well. Very high quality ingredients. The service was great. We ordered at the counter and they brought the food to us outside. There are about 6 small tables on the sidewalk out front. Not much shade though if thats what youre looking for. Will be back for sure!

Food was great! I did think the prices were a little higher than expected. But I would definitely eat here again. I really liked the fries and their voices of aioli sauces!

Until today, Ive never had a burger and fries give me the chills. Umami burger and fries with black garlic dipping sauce. Straight up amazing. I even got it to go and it was still amazing after sitting in the bag for 15 minutes. Do yourself a favor and get some Bolyards!!!!

I never went to the old location but the new location is super nice. Plenty of room and clean. I went in for lunch and loved it! Got the Reuben, tallow fries with gochujang sauce and a Civil Life Rye Pale Ale. I enjoyed it all very much and would high recommend if you are hungry for a good sandwich. They have high quality cuts of meat for purchase as well obviously. That is their main focus, sandwiches are kind of like a happy addition it feels like. They had probably ten different sandwiches to pick from and they all sounded great. I like reubens so I got that.

My weekend brunch routine always includes Bolyard biscuits and meat. This place is wonderful and they are very knowledgeable about their product. I genuinely love the new space. It was very warm and inviting and as always the food was delicious. We have purchased steaks here in the past too and we could not stop raving about the quality of the meat offered here!

We were there on Saturday. Lunch and delicious pimento cheese for later. Burger and fries were delicious. So was the French Dip. Wonderful people. Great food.

My friend and I had an excellent dinner at Bolyards last night. The highlight of the meal were the tallow french fries. Those are a must try for every visit.The new location is much bigger with both indoor and outdoor seating with large windows looking out on to Sutton.The only complaint was that our food order was initially not submitted properly but when we notified them, they were able to rectify the situation. The burger and fries were worth the wait.We will be back.

I come here several times a week to get food, both take out and meat to cook at home. I’ve always had a pleasant experience until today. Today my experience with awful and I was not even able to get my food. I do not recommend this place if you prefer to use Apple Pay rather than physical credit cards.

A pretty basic burger.

Absolutely amazing burger and fries. We have always loved Bolyards meat from the case and homemade bratwurst and now that they offer their Smashed burger and tallow fries every day this is where we choose to go when we want a burger! We also enjoy several of their sandwiches that we have been able to try to include the turkey their Cubano and the French dip. If you’re looking for a place to try for lunch or dinner definitely give this locally owned family owned butcher shop a try!!

The char siu sandwich is pretty darn good, but the tallow fries are what really set apart my meal. Perfect fry texture, crispy outside and soft inside, with a wonderful beefy flavor.Their butchery items were also quite expansive and tasty, especially the pancetta I had.

Modern, clean store. The meat selection looked interesting, but their Bolyards burger and the Cubano sandwich was incredibly disappointing. For a restaurant with its own butchery, its unfathomable how they could make such an inedible burger. The burger tasted bitter and burnt, although the meat didnt appear burnt, which suggests the burger picked up its acrid flavor from some mysterious source. Shame on whoever tested this burger and decided to make it Bolyards flagship burger... The Cuban sandwich was also underwhelming, such that the mustard was omnipresent and overwhelmed the sandwich. Overall, I would give Bolyards a 2/5, but, given its respectable mission to locally source their meat and that the food did not make me sick, it deserves a 3/5.

The old storeUsually, I am not a fan of sandwiches but I like the sandwich they make here. We tried the Dip & Pig Pen, they were both delicious.The new store opened in 2021They elevated to a restaurant! Sandwich still available and they create more dishes. We tried three new dishes and they are both good.

Excellent sandwiches!! They will hook you up with a combination of delicious, great portion size, local and much more. The little things: they have compostable cups!

Called and asked for custom cut short ribs. I was so pleased with their service and the short ribs were excellent. I picked up some of their homemade broth that I used in the beef stew that I made, which added extra flavor and dimension to the stew. I love the variety of stocks/broth they make! It saves me lots of time when I dont feel like making my own. Have I mentioned their biscuits?! My family only wants to eat Bolyards biscuits from now on. Definitely worth going to a speciality butcher such as Bolyards to get the best quality. Their store is charming, warm and welcoming. I highly recommend Bolyards.

What a wonderful place. Located in a cool old building and everything that I have ever bought there is excellent. The andouille sausage is amazing. The Tasso ham is that perfect addition for red beans and rice. Ive had sandwiches and they dont disappoint. Great service. You may want to call ahead for certain items just to make sure they have it. Give them a try, you wont regret it!

This place has the highest quality meats! All the meats are dry aged even before it arrives. Its higher end pricing but you will be able to tell the difference. The people are really nice and love helping with custom stuff. Thanks Chris

The sandwich I got cut no corners and was super creative. The pork chops I brought home were better than anything locally in St. Louis Ive ever gotten. The beef sticks are a great snack too, highly recommended. The dudes there working are slightly off putting and unfriendly, but its not a deal breaker. Rad building and decor too.

Good ole fashioned butcher shop with a upscale flair. Meats cut to your specifications...pasture fed..locally sourced...and a fantastic menu of sandwiches. I recommend any sandwich with the pickled onions! Best pork chops ever!

Awesome gem, hidden in Maplewood. Excellent sandwiches and dont sleep on their biscuits on Saturday mornings.

They are always so knowledgeable, friendly, and very skilled at their craft. Im happy we found them and I try to go out of my way to get any meat products from their expert butchers.

Did not meet my satisfaction at all! Very frustrated I called in to notify my complaint and the associate there literally did nothing. Whatever is in that meat it ruptured my stomach terribly. I feel sick. NEVER NEVER eating there again. ( thought I’ll try something new, never again !!) the sandwich was soggy, Jalapeños we’re well past due had no type of spice at all annnnd oh the meat was horrible ( did not look fully cooked at all) eat here at your on risk.

Great local place to buy some real meat - and they can actually tell you where the meat is coming from. They are very helpful in recommending ways to cook it, or helping me to figure out exactly what Im looking for. You can call in and they will prepare a special cut for you. As far as Im concerned, the boys at Bolyards can handle my meat all day, every day.

Very rarely do I give anybody 5 stars, I feel nobody can be perfect. I would like to thank you for absolute perfection the mixtures of flavors on my pallet I could not explain, except complete and utterly amazing. Hands down probably one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten.

Incredible butcher shop utilizing only the best meat and working directly with farmers to deliver superb quality. One of the best in the area, with great customer service and atmosphere. They also do exceptional special order service and have a great selection of cured meats and provisions. Dont miss the Wednesday smoke outs where you can pick up a great smoked dinner. Their sandwiches are incredible also. They might nt always have everything in stock due to the fact that everything they do is whole hog butchery, utilizing the whole animal.

I go there every day. The bone broth is excellent and the meat is wonderful. I love it. Chris and the gang know their stuff and you can just tell they love what they do. They make me feel like one of the gang when I come in for my daily broth.

The smell of this place alone is awesome.Meat and other goods are very expensive but excellent quality. Sandwiches are the way to go if you cant afford the raw meat.Four or five are offered...everything on them is made in house or nearby...$10 or $11 includes soda or chips. Beer is $6/bottle but $3 if substitute for the soda or chips.

Amazingly high quality locally sourced and properly raised meats. Tried pork belly, porchetta, chicken liver pâté, and eggs. Its pricey for sure, but absolutely worth it. Definitely want to try some steak and lamb from them too.

Even though this is far from my house I will only go here because they have grass fed beef and bones for prices that arent too bad and I just love the atmosphere. The people are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

Best! Absolutely best butcher in town. Boylards approach is that of health. They are knowledgeable about bone broth which was set out to figure out. I wont go anywhere else, no one compares to them in STL. I was so excited to find them.

Amazing quality meat and helpful staff who are always willing to cut according to your specifications. I do a lot of Asian cooking and its unbelievable how hard it is to get really thin-sliced pork and beef. Bolyards always delivers and with some very high quality product. Yesterday I returned 1.5 lb of ground beef that had spoiled within 24 hours (I still dont understand why). Bolyards replaced it with no trouble and the new beef was fantastic as always. My wife and I will be coming here for delicious, ethically sourced meat for the forseeable future.
