I was looking for a Roland Digital Grand Piano and I happened to call Madison Piano Place. I spoke to Deb who answered all of my questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner. A few days later when I was able to visit the store, Deb went through all of the features of the piano including how to sync it with my iPad. She also gave me the chance to completely look over the piano and play it. She arranged to have the piano delivered to our home, which was over 90 miles away, with a service that arrived on time and completely set up the piano. During the entire process Deb kept in contact with me. I would highly recommend Madison Piano Place for their sales and service.

I came to the store this week to begin looking for a replacement piano. I was greeted immediately by Deb. She was professional, personable, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend! Update addition: I’ve now had my GP607 Roland mini grand digital piano for two months and am so pleased. Deb helped me via phone to download two apps that work with the piano. Her excellent and pleasant service continued after my purchase. She goes above and beyond!

I reached out to a few places when I was looking to move a piano - Deb @ Madison Piano Place was hands down the most responsive, the most polite and the one who genuinely seemed to care about the piano. She arranged for movers, followed up afterwards to make sure everything was ok and then I just returned for a tuning, too. Great knowledge, great service. Highly recommend.

Worst customer service that Ive ever experienced.

I just used them for a piano move from a friends house to mine, and they were so easy to work with. Piano got moved safely and communication was fantastic every step of the way!

We bought a beautiful upright Essex. The salesman Tom was very knowledgeable about the different pianos and their sounds. Deb in the business office was easy to work with. Steinways price beat another dealers price for a similar piano by several thousand dollars. The delivery men were professional and courteous. We cant wait to use our piano and expect to have it for many years.

We purchased a grand piano from Steinway Madison recently. It was an absolutely pleasant experience. We had been thinking about buying a grand piano for a while but the price was a big concern. We mentioned this to Ben when he came to tune our piano. He asked about our comfortable price range and told us he would look into it. Then some time later he recommended one for us right in that range. We arranged a tryout, the kids loved it, and we made the purchase. A couple of days later, it was put in our house. Throughout the process, we didnt feel any pressure at all from Ben. Rather we felt that he sincerely wanted to help us find what was best for us. He discussed in detail the pros and cons of different brands of grand pianos and what best suited our need in our price range. He explained in detail about the features and characters of the piano we purchased during the demo and tryout. The delivery was much faster than we thought. After the piano was set up, Ben cleaned it meticulously. The free tuning two weeks later was also done promptly and highly professionally. I highly recommend Steinway Madison.

Recently had my piano I received as a child moved to our home. Moving process was organized and communicated well. Next step was to have it tuned. Barry came out and tuned and and corrected the pitch -- he was very informative, and communicated along the way what he was doing. The whole process and follow up was first class -- would highly recommend!

Deb was very helpful with my purchase of a keyboard. They had a lot of options of keyboards and showed me all that were under my price point. Very knowledgeable with differences in the pianos. I got a full review of how the app works with the Roland keyboards and was told as I can come in anytime with questions about my keyboard or the app.

They seem to have quite a bit of positive feedback here, however I did not have a good experience. I went to their store to look at, test out, and see what piano I wanted to get so I coulf save up to purchase it. As soon as they caught wind that I wouldnt be buying it that day, they did their best to make me feel as if my presence was not welcome if I was just going to be playing their pianos. Once I am ready to buy, it will not be from them! Wouldnt want to inconvenience them. My visit was a while back, and was definitely this location.

We contacted Steinway & Sons for assistance moving a baby grand piano to our home from about 90 minutes away. Their pricing was competitive. The office manager, Deb, is responsive to customer inquiries in a timely fashion by both email and phone. The crew of 2 guys that delivered the piano were both really friendly and helpful (ex: calling me so I could leave work to meet them for the delivery time with limited wasted time waiting) and arrived on time. They were conscientious, making sure everything was in working order before they left. Definitely would recommend!

Deb and Ben were very helpful and courteous. I knew absolutely nothing about pianos at all and left with a pretty decent knowledge of whats going on. Their rental program suits me just right.

We purchased a Roland Digital Piano for our adult daughter who lives in an apartment - so silent play was a priority - she is an advanced player so the touch/response and authentic sound was important. After a number of years without and instrument, she quickly returned to form ! I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Steinway & Sons, Madison! I recently moved to Madison from Australia and wanted to purchase a piano. The staff was beyond accommodating, allowing me to play all the gorgeous pianos in the showroom (even the ones well above my budget) to get a feel for the type of piano I wanted. I never felt pressured to purchase by the salesperson, Tom, who was a delight. Despite being incredibly busy, Ben--the owner--took the time to explain the various piano types and the mechanisms within (which was fascinating!). We purchased the Roland GP607. What a great instrument for someone that needs to practice. The ability to stream audio to the Roland via Bluetooth has been a tool I could only once dream of. I play in a band and can now play along with the songs we are working on when I practice on my own, even through headphones! Speaking of the headphones, the Roland headphones that are included with GP607 are so good I thought they were not working. I plugged them into the slot and I heard the piano play out side of the headphones. I took off the headphones to check what was going on. I hit the key again and the headphones WERE working. They allow in ambient noise and the piano sounds very natural through the headphones. Best headphone experience Ive ever had. The piano is designed around sound modeling which is fascinating in theory. In real life, it gives the player the most authentically key sensitive playing experience that can be had on a digital piano. This authentic look and feel has not only made me increase my practice time, but it has inspired my wife and daughter to begin their piano playing experience. The Roland GP607 looks great and sounds even better. It will be part of our family for years to come. The 10 year warranty gives me great peace of mind for such a long term investment. I have become a better player even in the short time of owning this instrument just because it is so easy and enjoyable to spend time with it. If anyone asks me what kind of digital piano they should get and where, Im sending them to Steinway and Sons of Madison for a Roland...unless they are looking for the real thing...in which case I still send them there! Beautiful showroom full of the best products in piano, Steinway and Roland.

The piano technicians at Steinway & Sons are all really professional and if the customer wants, theyre willing to teach you a few tricks on how to determine if a key is off-pitch of not. Tuning usually takes about a hour to an hour and 30min.

We acquired a piano from a family member that hadnt been used or tuned for several decades. Not only did Barry do an amazing job with the piano, but he was very patient with my kids who were curious about the tuning process.

Ive recently retired from teaching. I had a home studio and rarely played the clavinova-type keyboard I used for lessons. My husband strongly suggested we invest in a piano I would enjoy playing. I checked out all the stores in Madison and accidentally found the Steinway & Sons store tucked in between two other stores, barely visible from Mineral Point Road, in Madison, WI. I wanted a REAL piano. No more electronic models. Tom greeted me with the warmest smile! His gentle demeanor and obvious instinct as to what I wanted helped me to view many options. Space was an issue. He showed me the Roland GP607 digital mini grand and it was love at first sight! To my chagrin, it WAS digital with headphones, a light, and the most incredible sound Ive heard from any piano. Although I was never into the hundreds of sounds one could produce on digital pianos, the beautiful grand piano sound gave me much satisfaction. After checking out other types of mini-grands at different stores, on-line, and private ads, I went back and got a great deal on a brand new baby. I was treated rudely and/or not taken seriously at other stores, but Tom was genuinely interested in my satisfaction. He more than met my expectations and I am thrilled with the purchase. I have had other pianists play on Baby Roland and everyone of them could not believe the quality, style, and enormous, in-tune sound produced by this little giant piano. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. A great combination. My rating (as a teacher) is A+!!! My suggestion is to follow my footsteps. Stop at Steinway & Sons FIRST then go and check out other piano stores. I am positive you will head back to Steinway & Sons as fast as your vivace feet can run!

What a wonderful experience! Many thanks to Ben Garber at Steinway in Madison, Wisconsin. I have a 1926 Model M and have, actually, received tender care for the piano from folks in Milwaukee. A recent stuck d and ivory fly off prompted me to call Steinway here in Madison as I was having difficulty reaching my regular genius (in Milwaukee). I spoke with Tom who promptly referred me to Mr. Garber who heard my plea and was able to schedule an appointment for me the very next day. Not only did he do an amazing job with the stuck d he did stuff that I did not even know needing doing and fixed my botched attempt at gluing on the ivory and provided a truly expert tuning. So, obviously I am a new fan and client and it is wonderful to know that there are folks close by who are truly professionals.
