I have been going to DanTera for about 4 years. I highly recommend, Matt for hair and Fatima for waxing and threading. The front staff is always nice. They offer complimentary coffee, water, and wine. They also send you text reminders prior you appointment, which I appreciate.

Lee is the best! She did my hair yesterday ( balayag ), it took 3 hours of work. She chose the best color that can go with my skin tone and my eyebrows , I love my new hair color!

I went here yesterday. I received a gift card for my baby shower 5 months ago. I never EVER go to a salon. My hair is way past my bottom and thick. I just wanted to get it washed and styled a little bit. When I first met my stylist, she was quite rude. She didn’t say a word the whole time I was there unless I asked a question then she would answer very abruptly. I was almost in tears because it hurt so bad when she brushed and dried my hair. When she was finished and my hair was still wet, she took the cape off and walked away. I didn’t even know she was done. Yes, my hair was soft when I left, but I could have done that at home. I was looking so forward to getting out of the house and relaxing, but it was an awful experience. I won’t be back.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Service was high quality and impeccable. My facial was so relaxing and catered to my skin spot on. I had a full day of facial, massage, pedicure, manicure, sauna. They use amazing scented products by Aveda, I love the lavender, but mint is a close second. I will be returning and highly recommend to anyone who needs some pampering. I will absolutely be returning.

Not good. I had my brows done and they have no arch, and are lopsided and way too short. Super sad I stopped in. They looked like a reputable place, higher quality... but you never know until you try.

I got the signature pedicure for $60, but I would’ve been disappointed even if it had cost $30. I’ve had pedicures 10x better for literally half the price. Aside from her not being friendly, she didn’t get my cuticles and the massage was less than satisfactory/very short. My $35 pedis have a higher quality/ longer massage. She seemed more concerned about keeping her own nails nice than providing the service I was paying for. Just a fair warning— not worth the money. I won’t be back.

Note to owner.....My last experience was not good. I will not go back. The manager of this place, Beverly, has no clue how to run a salon like this. This is an elite Salon so why cant my hair dresser ask for wax to be changed when there was only enough for my brows, almost none. I guess I dont get my face waxed. Its a shame. All the yrs Ive been coming to this salon, I have never had an issue until now. I love Kim but I wont sit back and watch her be treated the way she was treated. oh theres enough and you have to finish whats in there she and the other hair dressers know what they are doing. They are PROFESSIONALS! Let them provide the awesome atmosphere and services at DAN TARA that they have always provided. Trying to save money at the expense of a customer Beverly, is not good. I love all the girls upfront also. Their AMAZING!

I went to a salon about a month ago and the person I saw damaged the ends of my hair, so I decided to go see Tabitha after a friend recommended her. She was great!! She listened to exactly what I wanted, and made my hair feel healthy again! I will definitely go back to her!

I am new to Huntsville, but after a little research I stumbled upon DanTera! I called early and was able to get an appointment for the same day. Stephanie cut my hair, and did a wonderful job! I came in with pictures/pretty good idea of what I wanted and she delivered! She was also incredibly sweet, and easy to chat with. Super great salon. Everyone was kind and welcoming. Good coffee :)

This spa is amazing. I went for the 15 minute Tension Tamer massage and I was in heaven. Even with such a short appointment they still made sure I was relaxed and comfortable. The end price was so affordable I was able (and willing thanks to the awesome masseuse) to give a larger tip. Definitely a 5 start must go.

Love, love, love Matt!!! Had a wedding in Alabama so decided to get my hair done there. I’m glad I did! First time at an Aveda Salon, and I can feel the difference. I was booked with Matt, and he did a fabulous job! Showed him the photo of what I had in mind, and he worked with me using his years of experience to come up with a style that fit my face and style. Front desk staff was great! Will defiantly be back next time I’m in town.

Ive been to Dan Tera a few times now and have worked with Matt each time. I was very happy with the results. I have fine, damaged hair and appreciated him advising me on what I should and shouldnt do for my hair type. The salon itself is always clean and welcoming, and the front staff was very nice and helpful.

I have received 2 excellent massages from Megan. She is very knowledgeable about the musculoskeletal system and knows all of the correct techniques to relieve pain and tightness. She has been extensively trained in massage therapy and also holds a degree in microbiology. She is willing to work with your insurance so price is on point. Looking forward to my next treatment!

Talk about an amazing experience. DanTera offers everything for great prices and an amazing experience. Would recommend this company to anyone who wants the experience of a life time. The staff is fun and friendly and they sale some of the best products in town.

While this salon is nice and has every service imaginable, the prices are high for average results. Not a fan of the entrance off HWY 72 or parking. The Dan Tera Salon in Huntsville offers the same services, but the staff feels more service oriented and it has easier access.

The day before my wedding, I booked appointments for myself and several family members for manicures and pedicures. The atmosphere was relaxing and we had the room to ourselves. They offer wine, drinks, snacks. They were very accommodating as I had extra family members decide they wanted their nails done, despite not having appointments. It was enjoyable; however....Unfortunately, their manicure and pedicure skills are lacking. We enjoyed ourselves but discovered our manicures and pedicures were done poorly almost immediately after leaving. I get my nails done monthly, and I always get a gel manicure which lasts me roughly 3 weeks. Gel manicures should be set and completely dry upon completion. At my usual nail salon, I am able to to do nearly anything without messing up my manicure immediately after my nails are done. At DanTera, my nails were not dry at all. My nails smeared before even leaving the salon. I had the lady fix my two smeared nails, but a few hours later, I noticed my nails had smeared once again. It was late at night, and I never had an opportunity to get my nails fixed before my wedding. I was very disappointed. We all agreed the ladies at DanTera were very nice and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing, but I do not recommend going here for nails. I do not think they are properly trained. I watched her as she did my nails, and I think she used regular nail polish with a gel top coat? She would paint the tips first ( I got a French manicure), then she would paint the base of my nail, painting around but not over the tips. Then she would paint with a top coat. It was very strange. I had this all done on November 6th. Within a few days, the tips that had not smeared off started cracking. Concerning my pedicure (which was not gel, just regular polish), the lady checked and stated my toe nails were definitely dry. She assisted in getting my socks and shoes back on my feet. That evening when I got home, I took my socks off only to discovered that they were stuck to the paint on my nails. They still werent dry! =[

Erin is the greatest she can make my super curly hair do anything. She has a great eye for Style and is incredibly nice. Salon is always relaxing and the staff always friendly.

I got the most amazing service and massage today by Megan. Shes extremely knowledgeable and amazing at her profession. Ill be back in a month!!

Edit:The owner has been in contact and promises to make everything right. I will update when that happens!Someone gifted my friends new foster daughter with a gift card to have her hair done. The last place she was in made her cut it short, so we were looking forward to having it cut and colored for her to start her new school this week! I called and made an appointment Saturday for her to go today, Monday. I told them a little of the story and said wed like a cut and color and wed be using the gift card we were given. When we arrived, we are told there is not time for color, that we didnt request it. I tell Courtney that I will color it later, myself.When we go to pay, the women at the front desk tell me the system for the gift card isnt working and that I need to pay. They give me no other options and are not apologetic. I dont want to make a scene in front of this child who has been through more than enough already, so I just fork over the $66+ (with tip, because the stylist was great and its not her fault) and we leave. I am still steaming. Shame on you, DanTera. This is not how to treat people.

I moved here from NYC and this is the first spa that I came across. It was clean, the people were nice and the massage was amazing. In fact, one of the best Ive ever had! I am definitely returning.

I have been going to Jamie for almost two years now, and she has given me exactly what i have wanted everytime. She is so sweet and personable and very talented with color and variety of styles. She also did my hair for my brothers wedding in May, and it was absolutely beautiful. Everytime I come from college, she always strives to accommodate. Thank you Jamie for being the best hairstylist, and for giving me a new “do” today, i LOVE it!

Had my hair cut by Nanette on June 28th because it had been 10 months since my baby was born. I had read the reviews and chose Nanette because of a great Google review. She seemed very knowledgeable about hair with a lot of experience so i was excited to finally get a trim. After my haircut, I expressed how it still looked homely and that I wasnt that crazy about it and how I liked how hers looked, and what i liked about it. She told me that it will grow on me and that she was just blessed with great hair. She didnt ask me why I didnt like it, what I/she could do to make it look better... well, it has NOT grown on me and I dont like it at all. It was actually cut crooked and too much was taken off. There was no shaping or any added customization done to shape it up. No talk of how to make it right but just time. It looks bland and basic. The point-system for the Aveda was extremely confusion as well. Very, very disappointed... sweet staff though.

I would never go to this salon ever again. I went two times and both times wasnt impressed. My first haircut was ok and the second the girl just did not listen to what I wanted. I waited a half hour after my appointment was supposed to begin to ask how much longer I was going to wait for my actual appointment to start. Well the girl who was doing my hair was sitting there with about 5 other employees talking the whole time. Once they realized their mistake no one apologized for my wait they just took me right back like I didnt just listen to their conversation about just about everything and a lot was not appropriate for customers to hear and they were sitting just about 4 feet away from me. All in all I did not leave a tip and was not happy with my hair cut at all. She tried giving me her card to come back if it wanted her to fix it but after the service I did not receive and the $30 haircut I hate I am just cutting my loss. The girl also tried to tell me that my haircut last time was uneven and I just laughed considering I was there just 6 weeks prior. My warning is to not go here and try somewhere else. I left not relaxed and pissed off.

Ive been to DanTera three times. The receptionists are immature and dont seem interested in providing a spa-like experience or atmosphere. While my cuts have been passable (not great), the color has not impressed me (I go to another Aveda salon for color now). I really want this location to work for me, but I always feel rushed, forgotten, and unimportant as a client.The inside of DanTera is pretty unimpressive, not spa-like at all. They generally have a decent selection of products, but no one ever tries to educate me on any of them or to show me whats new, suggest that I try something, etc.

Im just the occasional IT guy, but all the people here are awesome, and it smells really good. Nice place!

I have been going to Dan Tera Madison for about a year now. The last two appointments I had to get my hair done have been the two worst haircuts I have ever gotten in the almost 40 years of my life.Bad Haircut 1: I told my hairdresser that I liked the length of my hair and to just take care of the dead ends and shape it up this time. When I left, it was like no one touched my hair. It was still dry ended and frizzy at the ends.I called, told them I was unhappy and asked for a different stylist when I booked my following appointment.Worst haircut of my life 2- I was given an appointment with Matt and told he was highly skilled and also really friendly. Communicating with him was like having to collaborate with someone who hated either his job or people in general. It was awkward so I just read my phone. While he was mixing my color, I saw a girl who had exactly my hair type and length and our face shape was similar and said, Oh, I really like her bangs. Those are exactly what I want. I had the stylist that did the girls bangs just show Matt the bangs (he was mixing my color). He seemed fine with it. Maybe this is what made him deside to mess up my hair??Now listen, I am not saying he intentionally fd up my hair, but it is so bad, I wouldnt be shocked if someone told me that was his intent. Someone that is skilled in haircutting might give someone this comically bad haircut and laugh. I am not calling Dan Tera to give them the opportunity to make this even worse. If it gets any worse, my hair will have to be cut as short as the shortest blunt layer. (Which is pretty dang short and blunt and unflattering)I will be calling their competitor and I will be begging them to fit me in so they can blend and soften these nightmare layers so I can wait this hairstyle out.I wish I just handed my 6 year old her school scissors and asked her to go to town on my hair. Would have yielded better results I didnt have to also pay for.EDIT: I spoke to Beverly at the Salon. Although she seems like a nice person, only after standing by Matts talent and arguing with me, did she then want to see pictures of his work on my hair. (I would think she would want to see proof pics first, but ok).I sent pictures of my uneven blunt pageboy bangs and mullet sideburns. I also sent a before picture of my long hair that went half way down my back. Really makes me feel the loss. I havent heard anything back. I am just really, really lucky that I wasnt getting my hair done for a wedding or an important event. If you have something you need to look your best for, BEWARE OF THIS SALON.They did offer to have me go back in so they could fix it. My hair is gone so it cant be fixed. Even so, if he is the best person there, I dont trust them anymore. That was the only thing they would offer. No refund for my cut, nothing. You know, an apology would have gone a long way.

Extremely disappointed with the Aveda Salons in Madison & Huntsville, AL. What is with this new a la carte pricing menu? Its nothing but price gouging! I walked out after paying $300 ($150/per hour) & still had wet hair. $20 for an extra bowl of color? $45 for toner? Ive been to Aveda Salons across the U.S. for years, but this has ended my relationship with Aveda. While I can afford their exorbitant fees, I simply refuse to pay more than what I pay for health care. I cannot & will not abide the greed.

Ive had great experiences here with Heidi and Rebecca as my hair stylists. Ive had GREAT experiences with specifically Heidi on hair color and Rebecca on hair cuts, but not always great for both cut and color with each stylist.

Id been going to Dantera in Madison for facials/massages/haircuts for 11 years and never had any kind of problem. *Then* they turned their whole staff over. The old counter staff and my previous aesthetician were gone, and suddenly its like walking into the Mean Girls Club, with the counter staff barely disguising their contempt that Id darkened their doors and the girl who did my facial almost acting like she didnt want to be bothered with it. I had also requested a 60-minute facial of the kind Id been getting for some time, but the girl said she couldnt do it because she was unfamiliar with the prescription cream I use on my skin--a precaution I would normally appreciate, but 1) the names in my dang file, and 2) I told her at least three times I could get my phone and google for the name (which is a stupid common cream she *should* have been familiar with). In neither case was she interested in lifting a well-manicured finger to get said info, so instead, I got a mostly useless 30-minute facial, during which she commented that my skin was awfully congested and she would do something about it next time. Like, WHY AM I HERE NOW, THEN? She also blithely commented that my age was starting to show, which, yeah, that kinda happens when youre a human over the age of 30. So, for the low low price of $70 + tip, I left feeling far more unattractive/old than I already do, and that healthy dose of shame is still with me six months later.

Massage was not deep tissue as asked for! Therapist (Kelly) did not ask if pressure was good or if more was needed. I told her three times that she could use more pressure and it really did not change much. Feed back at reception was not well received. Very disappointing! 😒

I have been going to Dantera for 6 years and I love it there. All the stylist and staff are sweet, funny and very caring. The price is very fair, especially when compared to other salons that are not even as close as talented as the amazing people at Dantera!I have been seeing Nanette since the day I went in to interview her, I always interview my stylists! I had interviewed numerous stylists at other salons, and Nanette blew me away, it was a no contest! Nanette listens to what I am thinking of doing and talks to me about it until we have it figured out, and then she does her magic and my hair has been perfect since the first time! I love and adore Nanette and we have such a great friendship. She is amazing at what she does, from the amazing hand massages, the head massages when shampooing my hair to waxing! I never want her to leave! We are currently working on a ombre balyage color and has not only helped me understand the steps but has taken the time to help me learn the best way to curl my hair to make the colors pop! I have never been able to curl my hair until she helped me out, and I love my hair curled!!!! She really goes above and beyond to help her clients! I really cant say enough good things about her, and the salon! I have many services done there and I would never go anywhere else!If you have not tried Dantera, what are you waiting for? Best Salon and my best stylist of my life anywhere, and I am an army brat and moved around every 9 months!!!

Literally just got an inch cut off my hair, no shampoo, nothing else took all of 5 minutes and got charged $29. I even tipped her $5 but that was before I got charged. Insane 😡
