I lived at the Aberdeen for three years. I can say without a doubt, that the Aberdeen is the best student apartment in the city. The management is deeply personal, and uncompromisingly kind. The apartments themselves are a cut above everything else in the city, and priced almost unreasonably low for the facilities and tenant experience you get. You truly feel cared for when you live here. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Been living here for 2 years now and I couldn’t have asked for something better. The units are nice and spacious with in unit laundry (a very underrated feature). It’s all furnished with tasteful furniture and very comfortable couches and a balcony too! They even have their own security who will take rounds and make sure you didn’t accidentally leave your door open at night. The apartments are great and the management is even better. You’ll never have a complaint and if you do, Kelly will be there to fix it in an instant.

I lived at the Aberdeen all three years I had an apartment during my undergrad degree at UW-Madison and I can honestly say this was the best place to call home during college! Kelly and the rest of the management team is unmatched in terms of responsiveness and kindness. They truly take such great care of their apartments and the people in them. There is so much included in the apartment (in-unit laundry is a HUGE bonus) and having a furnished apartment right in the heart of the city is hard to come by at such a great value. I cannot recommend living here enough if you are looking for a cozy, convenient, furnished apartment downtown!

Hands down the best apartment management weve experienced during the 8 years weve had kids on campus! Kelly is very responsive by either phone or email and she knows all of her residents by name! The building is clean and well cared for. My only regret is that our oldest child didnt find this rental when she came on campus back in 2012. It would have saved us lots of headaches and frustration!

Would lease again if I didnt graduate! Staff is friendly and very resident oriented--any issue I had was addressed/fixed in a day. there are various events for to residents throughout the year which makes the place feel like home. Updated kitchens and Italian leather furniture are cream of the crop. highly recommended!

Out of all the apartments I’ve lived in during my college career I can honestly say that the Aberdeen family were the best landlords I have ever had the pleasure of living under. They were beyond accommodating and always put their tenants first. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who asked!!67

Aberdeens management is top notch, especially in comparison to the other campus property managers. The apartment itself is great too.

The apartments are always in great condition and in a great location. The thing that sets Aberdeen apart from other apartments in Madison is the ownership. Kelly and the front office are remarkably available and accommodating. Of the four years I lived in Madison, staying here was by far my best experience. I’d highly recommend Aberdeen to anyone

I am currently living in The Aberdeen for my fourth consecutive year. Living here during undergraduate and now graduate school, I can tell you that the building has been a great environment to study in. I have never had an issue with too much noise. That being said, the building is meticulously cared for. Every weekend the owner and his wife can be found in the hallways vacuuming. There are a variety of apartments with different floor plans and up-to-date appliances; even your own washer and dryer! If I had a maintenance request, it was taken care of either same day or the day after (depending on the request). Aberdeen is perfectly located: with State Street super close, the capital a 10 minute walk away, two grocery stores to choose from (each a 5 minute walk away), and bus stops a block away. Kelly and Justin who work in the office are so kind and helpful. The fact that Aberdeen brings treats for residents (cookies, apples, pies, and Kringle) is definitely an added bonus. I have enjoyed living in Aberdeen every day and after only a short stay you will feel the sense of devotion that this family-run apartment brings. I highly recommend making this your next home!

My daughter has moved three times while in Madison , other than the dorms, and I can honestly say the Aberdeen was the best experience of all. The friendly management go out of their way to keep things top notch. The apartment was very clean when we arrived, including fresh paint and cleaned carpets. Short term parking can be a little difficult, however if you talk with management, they always found us accommodations. As a parent, the customer service our daughter received gave us great peace of mind that she was well taken care of at the Aberdeen. Thank for the great family atmosphere!

Pricey. They will demand a ceiling down deep clean before you leave and then suck money out of your deposit for “crumbs” and “dust”.

The Aberdeen is hands down the best place to live. I’m going on my 3rd consecutive year living here, and can’t imagine living in any other apartment. The owners personally take care of the building- they even come in on the weekends to vacuum! The managers take the time to get to know their tenants, are extremely accommodating and understanding, and are just great people in general. They will provide you will candy, cookies, Kringle, and lots of great chats. If the people who work here haven’t already won you over, the rooms will really give that extra push. Every room is fully furnished with stylish furniture that’s in great condition. The building is clean and pristine and ready for you to live in. They give you AC for free! And soon they will give you extremely high speed internet for free! Honestly, what more could you want? (Nothing). They have all you need for a legitimately reasonable price. AND they have a puppy. No other apartment offers you a puppy. Aberdeen is my home, and I’m so glad I’ve had the opportunity to walk through their front doors for the past few years.

I lived in aberdeen for two out of my four years of undergrad, and was so pleased with my experience! The family-run apartment building is furnished, in an incredible location, secure, and well-priced. The management and owners are extremely friendly, willing to help with anything at a moments notice, and are so accommodating. I’m so grateful to have lived at Aberdeen for 2 years and would strongly recommend it for an affordable and comfortable apartment downtown!

I lived in the Aberdeen Apartments my junior and senior year in college and had a great experience both years! I first discovered the Aberdeen when I was a freshman in college after attending a friends gathering at the apartments and knew I had to live there as soon as I could. Centrally located in the heart of downtown Madison on the corner of W. Gorham and University Ave, the Aberdeen is only a few short blocks from campus buildings and favorite bars and restaurants. The building is quiet and tenants are very respectful of the space and each other. Each apartment is fully furnished with leather couches and arm chairs, bar stools, coffee tables, end tables, beds, mattresses, dressers, and good-sized closets. All units have a balcony, some with sweeping views of downtown, Lake Mendota, the Capitol, and campus. Wifi, over 500 cable channels, and AC are all included too! The management team is wonderful. They know each of their tenants personally and they are friendly, approachable, professional, and incredibly attentive and helpful. They also serve cake, pastries, cookies, and other treats in honor of various holidays and celebrations throughout the year. Move in and move out were a breeze - they provided rolling carts and were there every step of the way if we needed anything. At the beginning and end of each semester and year, they also placed donation bins for any items to be given to charity. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience at the Aberdeen Apartments and highly recommend them!

When I look back at my time in Madison, I think of all of the friends and memories I made in that city. Things that went well and some that...didnt. In that time, I lived in the Aberdeen for 3 years and a 4th going in and out of its halls as a visitor. It was the perfect location for attending classes and Madison festivities. And while I cant always say I was the perfect tenant, I can say that I had perfect management. For those that would say management was overbearing, I would 100% disagree. The Witkins run the Aberdeen as if it was their home and care for it as such. I could contact Kelly with an issue and it was always solved within a day or so--this goes for emergency issues as well (trust me). Over the years, I could pop into the office, not just with concerns, but to chat with the owners and management. It still is something I feel comfortable doing today! You wont find this kind of personal interaction or attention to detail anywhere else in Madison. Truly, this place is a home away from home.

I lived at the Aberdeen Apartments for over two years and it was the best apartment experience I could have asked for in college. The price is incredible for the amenities you get, such as Cable/HBO/DVR and in-unit washer and dryer, and being fully furnished. The best part was the management - they are so incredibly thoughtful and attentive to all the tenants needs, and are also some of the nicest people you will meet. I love Aberdeen and would still be living there if I didnt graduate!

Aberdeens management makes the living experience there absolutely wonderful! They are extremely upfront about anything you ask, post reminders about rent each month, are quick and friendly about maintenance calls, and overall just nice! I love that it is family owned and managed so you get a personal experience with them instead of just being a number on a list of 1000s of residents at big corporate owned places. 3 things that stood out to me that really makes them the best: 1.) I dropped my key & fob down the elevator shaft and they were very understanding and just had me pay 1/2 the cost of getting a replacement key (not even the fob!) because they would retrieve it eventually when elevator repairs were made. This came out to be about $11. I did the same thing at a different apartment where I was charged $80! They also immediately left their office to walk to the key -copying place down the street and I had my new key as soon as I got back from class! 2.) Our toilet was having some issues flushing and needed repeated fixing over the course of about 3 weeks. Each time we had it repaired, they were extremely upfront with what potential costs could be IF certain things were the cause of damage. It ended up being a simple, but hard to find fix that cost us nothing (but their commitment to keeping us in the loop was fantastic!) 3.) Leading up to Christmas the staff brought in kringle about twice a week for everyone, with a new flavor each time. At the end each apartment could request a flavor and they sent each unit a kringle for the holidays! This goes to show how kind these people are and how much they actually care about their residents! I have lived in Madison for 5 years and Aberdeen was by far my favorite place to live, the only reason I moved was because I needed a car and could not afford the price of parking (though parking cost is equal to all other parking in the Southeast/State street area).

My girlfriend lived here and the management was extremely overbearing, they treated all of their tenants like children who had never had any responsibility, and they try to suck you dry when it comes to the security deposit. Decent place and the in-unit washer/dryer is a plus, but the management needs to chill out.
