Ive given this store several attempts, including going in intending to spend a couple of grand or more on a bicycle.I must not look like their target demographic or something. I won a $100 Trek gift card, and I live on the west side, so I keep trying, but I think Im done.Ive been there three times, and although the store is never crowded, it takes several minutes for a sales person to offer to help me, and theyve never actually been helpful. Last time I went in looking for sunglasses. Eventually a sales guy came over to the case full of Oakleys and told me he recommended going to the optometrist up the street.When I went in looking to buy a bicycle the woman that was helping (who interrupted our conversation to take a five minute call on her cell phone) told me it would likely be at least a year before they had a bike that would work for me (I bought a bike at Erics a week later).This time I went in looking for cold weather riding gear. The sales guy waved me towards a rack and walked away.Its almost like the folks at store dont want to sell stuff. I had a very different experience at the East side store buying a helmet for my daughter. Super helpful and took the time to ensure that I got the right thing.I guess I need to go there.

Got a flat from a nail next to a construction site, and the staff was extremely friendly and got the tube and tire replaced within 30 minutes. The staff was engaging and made me feel welcomed in the shop. Could not give higher remarks. The technician Jake was clearly knowledgeable and even checked the other and aired it up without being asked. Extremely satisfied with the service, the promptness, and the price!

Great service. Got a tune up recently (2021) which included a full breakdown of they bike for washing, reassembly, and a few new parts. I shopped around before getting this done and Trek was the most reasonably priced and while other shops were estimating weeks to complete service Trek estimated max 3 days and had it done in less than 24hrs - bike looking and feeling like new.

Just bought a madone earlier today. Very happy to find such a great bike. Less happy that I left the store w/o a tinny parts necessary to attach water cages. I am completely new to road biking. Therefore I had to rely on opinions and answers from staff. I was let go w/o a part that is probably worth few bucks and should be included in. I learned about that in another Trek store where they put water cages on. It is not about few bucks. It is about treating people like me the right way. I hope the harsh rating may help avoiding this kind of situations in the future.

A little pricey but its wonderful quality. The staff that we worked with was helpful and friendly. Our kids love their bikes!

Got a flat tire a few blocks from here while riding, figured Id go in and see what theyd charge to replace it and if nothing else get the inner tube. Go up to the maintenance counter and its already got two people in line, but one of the guys behind the counter is just sitting there jabbering away with a colleague (who was actually working) instead of helping anyone. After waiting like 20 minutes I got sick of that so looked for inner tubes but there were none hanging up. This place is a waste of time.

The staff was super friendly and very helpful. I recently moved from Florida and needed to get some new cycling shoes for my girlfriend so she could use her new peloton. I left with the product that I needed in a timely manner. Sometimes at cycle shops if you arent buying a bike or expensive gear the staff can overlook you or not give you the attention you need. The staff here was very attentive and helped me very promptly. I will return to buy bigger ticket items to include bikes from them because of the level of attention and care they gave me for my first small purchase.

Very nice and helpful staff. I have no pre order and the bike I wanted was still in the box, the moment they knew I came all the way from illinois they tried to built the bike right away so I dont have to make another trip without me asking for it. It was done within an hour. I went there not expecting to come home with the marlin 8 that day but I did.

Matt in the service department is great. He explains any issue with the bike and gives alternatives about the issue could be fixed. Other folks Ive interacted with have been great too.

Why is this particular Trek location even open? Not much of a selection of bikes or accessories.

The whole experience was very unenjoyable. After finally calling to check in on the status of my bike, the salesperson notified me it was back ordered a YEAR because things change. Its very irritating ordering (and paying) for a bike with an expected shipping window and not getting any indication things changed. I will not be shopping at this store. Buy from a local shop instead.

I recently purchased a new bike and havent ridden one in almost 20 years. I needed some general maintenance things, so I popped over to Trek. Great customer service! I explained my situation and the salesperson was quick to help me find lights/reflectors, a lock, chain lube, and a pump. He took the time to explain the various options for each and didnt pressure me to choose any one.

They did a great job on my bike repairs. Timely in getting me back on the trail and paid attention to detail with my issues. Also gave me great suggestions down the road to improve my rides. Thanks!

After 2 months of searching/stalking my local stores, i finally found the bike i wanted (marlin 7) in stock at the west madison trek store. so, i drove down from minneapolis to get it. called ahead and put down 50% to hold the bike for me. sales associate was very friendly and helpful. as a bonus, they had an ice cream truck out front with homemade ice cream. well worth the 8 hour round trip drive.

Prompt, friendly, and courteous. Tech performed a solid hour of maintenance and installs with no appointment, and no wait time. Tech was thorough and efficient. Tech listened thoughtfully, gave sound advice, and explained my options. I would recommend Trek West or East to all bike enthusiasts.

I took our two bikes in for tune-ups at noon and were told they would be done in 3-4 days. TREK Bike Madison West called the same afternoon I dropped them off to tell me they were ready for pick-up. Great service! My wife says her bike rides like it’s brand new.

I was highly satisfied by my experience at Trek Bicycle Madison West. I was mostly impressed by the superb level of service I encountered with Tyler. Tyler asked all the right questions to help me find exactly the right shoes and cleats I needed to order for spin. As someone who is new to the cycling world, I felt confident in Tylers knowledge of the product and grateful for the time he took to answer all of my questions. His efficiency went above and beyond expectations as he installed my cleats before my arrival and was on his way to grab my shoes from the back as soon as I walked in the door to pick them up. I got a carbon bike for hundreds less than I thought possible. The sales people were all extremely helpful and did not pressure me when choosing the right bike for me. I was able to test ride a variety of models and find the right bike and the right size. I was given the opportunity to upgrade the tires with free service at the 30-day adjustment appointment (considering tubeless tires for my FX S5). It was an all-around pleasant experience and I hope that the service experience can match that when I return for adjustments and tune-ups!

This place is absolutely awsome have a cheap bike from walmart last year needed a tweak and didnt charge me! Since is a such cheap bike I didnt want to put money into it when I brought it to another place they wanted 160.00 thank you so much for help and assistance I will definitely be back!

I would say that my experience at TREK bikes has been excellent. First of all, the quality of bikes is very high. Next, a variety of types of bikes is wonderful. Lastly, the people that work there are outstanding in the way they treat the people who come in to TREK. This place, products, and people are so much worth the time!

We bought three bikes at Trek Madison West. Katherine walked us through the whole process. She was knowledgeable and patient and wonderful to work with. We ended up with three fully outfitted bikes and have been enjoying them on family rides ever since. Isaac was so helpful when I picked up the last bike and car rack. I had yet to get a hitch and the rack didnt fit in my vehicle. When he found out we both lived in Janesville - he put it in his truck and dropped it by my house on his way home that evening. I had called another local bike shop about tightening and checking new brakes on a bike we’d purchased online and was told it might cost $100-$150. I understand this was over the phone without seeing the bike, but I was very pleased when Trek service charged us $20 and fixed the brakes in 10 minutes. Thank you so much.

The sales associate I worked with helped me find a perfect bike for me and my wife. He took the time to teach us about the differences between bikes, and let us try many different sizes and types before choosing. There was no pressure to buy or push to sell expensive or useless products. Each recommendation for accessories came with a discussion of pros/cons and range of prices, including a recommendation for our level of biking. I felt safe and secure in my purchases, even though I walked in not knowing much about biking and even walked out with bike route maps and the information on how to register my bike.

Went in looking for a security system for my bike rack so it can’t be stolen off my car. The young guy who helped me had no clue what I was talking about. He tried to tell me you can’t steal the rack off my trunk (sorry man, but I put it on without opening my trunk) and that nothing like that existed. Walked out to my car and bought one off Thule for $20..Chill store, but there are better ones in the Madison area.

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. The staff really wants you to understand what if going on with your bike and they dont belittle you for having limited knowledge of your bike. I am an aspiring home mechanic, so Ive done a bit of homework but I dont always know the full story. The mechanics talked me through the problem I was having, an politely rectified some of the misconceptions I was having without talking down to me. I learned a lot just from casually chatting with them. I only note these things because it has not been the case at other shops in the area. Excellent service, upfront pricing, and a lot of fun chatting with true bike nerds!

Had a triathlon coming up and needed maintenance done on my bike plus a couple of extra purchases that would make my life a little easier. Staff was extremely helpful and the guys who tuned up my bike were knowledgeable, friendly, and quick with turnaround. I got my bike back way ahead of the promised time frame and in noticeably better condition than I left it.

Went in for some bike tune ups during pandemic and they still provided top notch service and a speedy turnaround. Will be back in the future!

Took my bicycle to Trek for a tune up. The technician was honest and informed me, the bike wouldnt need a tune up as it was in very good condition. A quick look over and I was on my way. Saved $60+. I will take my bike there for any service work in the future.

The repair technicians are always friendly and dont try to sell me services I dont need. On several occasions I have stopped in with a problem and they have fixed it while I wait, sometimes at no charge.

As always, service was great, got right to the issue and fixed replaced the pads. Had no issues for my trip. Happy rider.

This was my first time buying a nicer bike and I am definitely a bike novice. I met with Corey after my FX 2 was built and he informed me of a deal on the FX 3 for the same price. They didnt have my size frame for the FX 3 so I had to have it built. Within a week, which was quick in my opinion, I received the call to pick it up. I really appreciate Corey taking the time to educate me on basic things and having my accessories installed before I left. Overall great experience, I appreciate the professionalism and attention to detail. Thanks guys!

Condescending. Always act like Im bothering them when I call about service. I told them I needed a shifter replaced, they cleaned it instead of replacing-- and it immediately stopped working of course.

I went to Erics bicycle before Trek on a mission to find an e-bike. The service I received at Trek well surpassed Erics. They even stayed late to move my accessories from my old bike to my new bike. Thats great customer service!
