Bayer Builders and their entire crew are amazing! They renovated our two flat into a single family home. Although it was a longer then expected process, everyone that worked in our home was a pleasure to have around daily with our family. So much as that my kids ask for them to come hang out. Bayer Builders - A seamless experience. Highly recommended. John provided good timely communication. He listened to us and provided good insight and suggestions and did the job the way we agreed. John was here everyday (sometimes more than once a day) to make sure everything was going according to plan. His employees were courtious and provided great workmanship. They were on time and worked hard to get the job done right. The worksite was clean and organized, they did everything possible to keep dust out of the house. The job was done on time and in budget.

Gotta love these guys!! We went from a cubbie sized deck to an area for friends and family! Reasonable, very attentive, clear and honest about what can/cannot be done. Prompt, efficient and respectful crew!! We will most definitely call Bayer Builders again! Thanks guys for giving us a new area to enjoy.

I very highly recommend John Bayer for any home renovations. Winter 2018, every pipe in our Chicago condo froze and burst, and unfortunately, the condo had to be completely gutted and renovated. I live out-of-state, and John coordinated every step of the process, from the demolition to the finishing and preparing it for sale (and even working with our realtor). The work was beautiful, and the condo sold the first day it was on the market - I credit Johns expertise and craftsmanship. Despite living in another state, I always felt like I was connected to the project as John was always available, kept me up-to-date on everything and was wonderful to work with. I couldnt be happier!

We have an antique foursquare home and Bayer Builders replaced our back deck and front stairs keeping the traditional look we love, and we are so happy with the results! The project was a great upgrade for us and we were able to collaborate with John and his team throughout. John is very responsive and has great ideas, helping us with our decisions and putting us at ease. It is so nice and refreshing to be able to email or even text your builder and get a quick response. He helped us research building materials and offered great perspective based on his experience and our desires. He also directed us to some great examples and ideas that we would have never thought of on our own. After hours of personal research, John helped make our decisions easy and we chose pre-treated lumber for our back deck and Azek composite for our front steps. Both turned out beautiful! John and Seth are classic woodworkers, which is so difficult to find in this day and age. The craftsmanship of our deck, front and back stairs, posts and banisters are very impressive and exceeded expectations. The hard work, follow-through, and results speak for themselves, and were very price competitive. We are so happy to have found Bayer Builders and highly recommend them. We would easily and happily choose them again for our next home project.

We had a fantastic experience with John and his team! They resurfaced our porch, brought it to code (it was never built right to begin with..), and rebuilt our stairs. John was really great at understanding our needs and budget- and also ensuring that everything was done to industry standards/code. He was extremely professional and thorough with his quotes and specifications- and made sure to educate us about the needs of our porch. He also never tried to sell us on doing anything more than we had to.And it turned out beautiful! Seth, his craftsman, did a great job!

Wow! Bayer Builders just finished building a new porch, repairing siding on the back of our house and installing a window. We are so impressed with the owners and the work of Seth and Marco, the carpenters, was outstanding! John Bayer gave us a detailed estimate, worked hard with the city to get our permits (even with changing a few things), and was honest with us about what could be expected. This is definitely the company to hire! We will be using them again and again!

Phenomenal job overhauling my home done by Bayer Builders! The entire team has been a pleasure to work with from tile to demo/reconstruct, plumbing, and painting. All the guys are very detailed in their work and take their time to do the job right. With so many construction companies out there, it was important to me to get guys that I felt I could trust alone in my home. I have to say, these guys proved to be extremely professional & trustworthy. I am so glad I didnt have to worry about any of my valuables or safety, these guys went above and beyond to secure my house even while I was out of town on vacation. John even came by at 7:30 at night to check my house because my Adt gave me a false sensor from my phone app while I was on vacation. I purchased a 20 year old home and John helped me from start to finish gutting & remodeling the bathrooms and almost all the flooring from basement up. Chris did a wonderful job installing the slate on the first level, he took his time and was thoughtful in placing the pattern. He also did a beautiful job on the ceramic in the basement and the master bath is a spa dream come true now! Henry is an excellent painter and did a fantastic job doing multiple rooms in my home including a stripe patten on my bathroom walls. Aaron was excellent fixing my toilets that 3 other plumbers couldnt figure out how to fix, and he would come by on the drop of a dime to fix any issues caused by the previous home owner. I really appreciate all the hard work and pride Bayer Builders puts into every job they do. I am so extremely happy with he results of my remodel, everything is exactly as I planned, pictured, and hoped for!

My wife and I had John repair wall damage in shower/tub and do a complete tile job including installing new shower doors.John is honest, dependable, fair, and a super nice guy to boot.His quote was very detailed and clear, which really eased our anxieties as we moved through the process of working through the project. John promised to bring in an expert tile man, and he certainly delivered with Chris. Chris turned out to be quite the craftsman and artist with the tile. Chris, as John was, turned out to be very clear and transparent with what he was doing throughout. He was also a very friendly and pleasant person to have in your home working.The results look great and, get this, we somehow managed to come in nearly $500 under budget due to Johns diligence and transparency. Bayer Builders is terrific. They laid tile in an outdoor deck. John is a perfectionist, making sure the job was done right every step of the way. I am very happy with the job and would recommend Bayer highly.

I hired Bayer Builders to repair water damage in my bathroom ceiling.The team did an excellent job, finishing on time and under estimate. Our floors and moulding were well protected, you couldnt even tell they had been there. The ceiling looks better than new, and quality parts were used to replace the damaged lights/vent.An additional note, they were always very careful around our pets, which is very appreciated.

John is fast and very reliable. They got me out of a rut after my old contractor ran away with my deposit. They made time for the install in the middle of busy season after I had a issues with the project. Johns easy to work with, quick to respond, and reliable. Seth, one of his carpenters, does an awesome job, even city inspector was pleasantly surprised.When you do your contractor search, start with Bayer. Itll save you a lot of time.

Can’t recommend John and his team at Bayer Builders enough. We had an old rotting wooden deck that was not build to code that needed to be replaced. Several contractors came out, gave us quotes and tried to upsell us. John came out and did a thorough inspection and pointed out where he might find some issues due to the rotting wood. We were impressed with John and are so happy we chose his team.They did encounter several issues that were hidden by previous owners of our home, not a surprise to anyone who has bought an older home. They quickly brought them to our attention and provided us with budget friendly solutions. Now we have a beautiful deck (Seth is an incredible craftsman), and a safer home that is all up to code. John and his team take pride in their work and are very professional. We’ll be hiring them again for future projects, that is for sure.

Art has come to our house twice now. The first time was for an emergency leak of unknown origin and the second was to install ceiling fans, including wiring, and fix the ceiling from the leak. Art and John were always professional and did a great job. They also cleaned up very well after themselves when the work was done. Even my two girls loved them! We will definitely call them again.

Amazing experience! John came right out when I called and gave me an estimate. He contacted me right away with questions or problems. My window was transformed to French doors. The deck is almost done and will be ready for BBQ season!

I recently had Bayer remove a load bearing wall between the kitchen and living room. Their attention to detail was amazing. From the second they started working you could tell they really cared about the work. They put up plastic and put down boards to keep my house as clean as possible. When any issue came up, as they certainly do in projects like this, everything was carefully explained and their solution was beyond what I would have instructed them to do, which kept me knowing that they cared. They came on time and finished on budget. I couldnt recommend them higher, i wish i could do 6 stars.
