We started off with one introductory session for two hours. I cant imagine anyone (even at Adobe) knowing more about Premiere Pro than Alex knows. Alex also knows quite a bit about film production, and he teaches standard/common practices in that business, for example: how to organize a project in the standard way so that another video editor can get in there and take over. He can recommend publications on film production. He also knows his hardware.I first met Alex ca. 2014 to learn to use Premiere Elements (the el-cheapo version) before moving up to Premiere Pro. (I do not recommend this path because they are really different products with little in common.)Alex is articulate and affable. And he can accommodate every electronic payment system that I know of (Paypal, Chase, etc.).

Later, I found that he consults on social media marketing, in addition to offering the exact kind of lessons I was looking for.In four two-hour sessions, he taught me the basics of file management, editing, transitions, and exporting. He also peppered these lessons with a great deal of real-life examples on “how to think” like an editor. And gave me quite a bit of bonus information on storytelling which fired my creative imagination.I am no longer intimidated by the medium or the message. I still have a lot of work ahead of me. I will have to turn what I’ve learned into habits and systems. But I do feel like I learned the basics as thoroughly as I needed to, in order to move forward.
