SOVA Food Pantry has got to be one of the best in helping the homeless community and others who are going thru hardships due to the pandemic. They provide an abundance of groceries for you and for those with families as well. They provide housing information and contacts to help you get housed. They offer medical services and other health related places to be taken care of. Everyone who works there are volunteers theyre there because they care. Keeping it real they even helped me out when I needed it. We all go thru struggles in our lives its good to know that there are places like SOVA FOOD PANTRY willing to help you out.

Folks can you be open for longer hours? Many of us recently lost our pandemic unemployement benefits and live on the street. In the heat walking sometimes it is hard to make it there by your place on foot.some of us are really at times are starving..I personally dont mind doing volanteer work for food. There are so many hungry people. But I have no car BMW repoed my vehicle when I lost my job last year and I got thrown out on the street..So if possible please adjust the hours so we all can make it. Some of us dont have cars..and backpack is filled with clothing and we cant intake much food. So it would be nice if we can eat there at those tables..

Wow. I was really impressed. The man in front of me told me how it worked. I registered in minutes with a friendly staff member. Then a gracious volunteer told me to go to table 2 and within minutes I got really good food. I appreciate the food, the staff and all who volunteer there. God bless them.

One of the best food pantries in greater Los Angeles. Ive often received foods from two VERY popular speciality grocery stores here.FRIENDLY, warm, caring and very professional staffing agency.**BE ADVISED only serves individuals/families who reside within specific zip codes. (aka SPA) HIGHLY recommend checking their website for eligibility information AND REQUIRED paperwork necessary for registration on your first visit.**

Great place to get help with food

My family and I visited here for the first time. Requirements basically, they would ask you the zipcode you live in, form of Id is required, i have a toddler so his birth certificate they needed to see and address where you live. If you have any dietary restrictions. Ms. Joan registered us very pleasant and helpful. Gave a monthly calendar to have an idea of days available and activities. After Ms. Charlotte distributed the items to us she was very pleasant as well. Got alot of foodstuff. Posted below is not all the food we got. A few items of the foodstuff may have been a couple days old but the majority were good, great quality. Another lady gave my husband books for our son so nice. The security guard was helpful. This elderly gentleman at the front desk didnt get his name gave my son a ball and some stuffed toys. God bless them, they are doing a great job. Is best to go early as there are alot of persons waiting to be attended. Thanks again and blessings to you all.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish I could give them a 5, but theyve unfortunately expressed prejudice, racism, and double standards. If I could Id give them less than 1 star rating. If one is simply from a certain denomination, they have the right to refuse services? Thats ludicrous! I cant believe this is a nonprofit!? More like a front to collect a ton of information of residents so they can apply it to their tax donations. I wonder if how ethical the process is when it comes to how many donations theyre reporting and what actually is taking place.

SOVA Pico has been kind to me, a misfit, for years. They give us clients fine foods, soaps, vouchers for clothes. I consider them to be holy, even though I have no religion. I cannot say in a few words how grateful to them I am.

This was my first time visiting. They made me feel welcomed. They did not look down on me because I was there to get food (times are hard right now).Im guessing when its your first time there you dont have a super uber long wait which was really highly appreciated. I felt very special.The food they gave me was enough for me to share with my neighbor.I havent been back because I dont want it to seem like Im taking advantage😒They also have all kinds of services, more than just food.....

They seem to know what their supposed to be doing---GIVING!! And everyone has a spirit that more of these type of places really need. Noone gave me a bad attitude for being there. WOW!!! 😀 😁 😊

Very generous food bundles for needy families. Its a bit of a slow process to get registered and get your bundle. Best thing is that you can have choices so that youre not getting food that wont be eaten, you can select items, within reason. Most items are not canned foods, and meat and dairy items are included, along with some fruit & vegetables.

Supportive kind folks with nutritious options such an amazing staff. Has supportnour family through poverty , Dv, a shelter and now while we have been Housed! Lots of books for me and the kids!

The people who run this organization are great. They always try their best to reach out to the economically challenged of our society. It is very commendable how they strive to make sure everyone is taken care of in getting food and things to help them along. It is hard to complete this task daily especially when dealing with many different types of people and personalities. It would help everyone involved if the people going to Sova to get help would just follow the instructions and get their numbers and remain seated until their number is called. When they get their food they could take it with them outside and not create a back up chaotic situation for the next person in line.Too many people are walking around and not sitting down or going outside to wait for their number to be called. The security guard could step up and put the people who will not stay seated outside to wait in order to lessen the chaos for all involved.Many times though, items asked for were not received and it was disappointing. I think the chaotic situation causes the people filling the orders to become distracted which causes them to leave out things in orders or skim over some individuals orders leaving out key ingredients or items on orders. This has happened many times. Other than that the work of the people of Sova is commendable.

Nice kosher food give away during the week.

Not bad. When your hungry this is an option. Fresh fruits and veggies. Wait time is moderate, paper work is simple. Theres street parking. Not a bad place.

Staff and volunteers work tirelessly in highly coordinated chaotic environment with the patience and compassion of Angels to tailor make bags of groceries for low-income individuals and families and provide items that do not require facilities to cook for those that are homeless (homeless persons can visit the food bank twice per month!). On Thanksgiving, Hanukah and Passover the food bank gives out special bags of groceries to clients on a first come first serve basis. There are Social Workers available most days to provide assistance with a variety of benefits and sometimes a representative from PATH for those needing housing assistance.

Sova ROCKS with organic and Vegan food as well as regular choices. They are a blessing in times of need!🙏🙌🙏

The First Time I Went To Sova..I Was With A Friend Of Mine...These People Are Truly God Sent..The Staff And Workers Are So Nice...They Really Care...They Make Your Experience With Them...So Comfortabe....And The Food Is Great...

Not to make any excuses or beat it like a dead horse. But I am having trouble understanding why they could not help me out. I understand they have rules to go by and they had to do what they had to do but they could have helped me out a little rather than hand me a list and basically tell me to kick rocks. I am a student, veteran, and a person who was having a little difficulty this month. I do not go to food banks very often but I needed to go and I happened to pick their food bank but I had a zip code which was outside their area of service and I needed to go to another one of their phicalites to get food. Well list and out the door. I can understand in some respects becuase I do not have short hair and I am not clean shaven but to just basically be almost push out the door and made to feel unwanted I just want to thank them one more time. I am not mad but I am disappointed. But it is all good they do help other people I was just put in a category and pushed to the side and that is okay dont you think? What a great pantry who helps those in need. It gives quality food for those in need one time per month. It also offers help to sign up for CalFresh benefits to those who want to apply for foodstamps.

I leave there with 4-5 bags of food and that includes bread, meat, chicken sometimes 2 bags of frozen fillet fish which I got last time. Also you can sign up to see a social worker to help and answer any questions you have. Plus theres one wall with different flyers pertaining to housing , emergency shelter , lawyer help, clothing , schooling , jobs Etc.... I cant say enough about this place , they are Gods Angels. 😇

Fantastic organization friendly people dont judge you or rude to you like some other places Ive been they give out first and delicious food you better before the open and youll get out fast otherwise you will be there for hours I would recommend Burbank to everyone

I was treated very nice by the people that ask the questions on what you need, but a man with a ponytail and and two women that are in the fron desk are very rude, sarcastic, I felt harassed, and walked with no food. I rather starve.

My wife has gone 2 tims to your guys free food program, but you guys gave her like a lot of food, but only one of the food is not expired and the rest of it is expired. U guys said that u help people, but I called this harming.
