I have called and called several times and I get hang up after 2 hours. My medical isn’t active and my daughter medical hasn’t been active for 8 month already! I am furious! The fact that they told me it was active and it wasn’t for a long time and I kept calling. I can’t believe that with someone who desperately need help doesn’t get help. Unbelievable.

My experience has always been good here.You do have to wait but it aint so bad if you have an appointment

Terrible place! Looks, sounds amd feels of a correctional facility then humanitarian services. So upon arrival the entire sidewalks leading to the door are saturated in people pressuring you to get a governmental cell phone to the point of harassment. Once finally close to the entrance theres usually a line starting OUTSIDE of the door as if the people were cattle. After waiting in the longest line ever, theres less then friendly security demanding the removal of all personal items while youre greeted by a barrage of lighters thata been trashed before entrance. Once FINALLY through all security measures youre then greeted by EVEN MORE LINES . there is no clear idea or direction of where to even go and no one to help. So after the confusing bouts of figuring where to go on comes more exceasive waiting for less then nothing to be done. Hated it. Never again.

I was a very quick visit to the office.

I was homeless at one time in the beginning of 2018 on the streets of downtown Los Angeles anf I carried my hair clippers in my back pack. They tried to make me throw my clippers in the trash before I could enter the building. They said my clippers could be used as a weapon. That is so stupid. Lets say I didnt use their services and I kept my clippers.

PROS: when times have gotten hard and family counted help Ive turned to getting a return on my tax money. Ive been to 3 offices in LA and this one by far my fav. fast service (I mean out in 10mins with appointment, out in 2hrs coming in any time a day with no appointment, same day food stamps), friendly services, clean lobbies and not over crowded. I didnt know the DPSS could be this efficient.CONS: Their voicemail box is always full and workers dont answer their desk phones. If they assign you Mr. Mereno ask for someone else. He clearly doesnt want to be there for any reason other than the paycheck and hes lazy; dealing with him is not fast (I got laid off and had to reapply). Everyone else is great.

Too craudly and the people outside is anoying

Its crowded as hell every time, its ghetto as hell, the workers take their sweet time doing anything. Just very taxing waiting.
