So we tried to hire them, they confirmed for a date we had then called us a day before to cancel the scheduled translation. Do not use them because even if they commit they might cancel on you last minute. Huge waste of time.

Im not usually one to leave reviews. In fact, I almost forgot to review this place, until they reminded me to a couple of hours ago.I contacted this place on May 6th, to get a document translated. They emailed me back telling me that in 1 day, they would invoice me, and translate my document. They remembered to do exactly which one of those things. Guess which one it was. If you guessed charging me money then yes, that is literally all they did by this point. I needed this document translated by the 15th. By the 11th, I had called to see what the status was on my translation. The person who picked up sounded like English was his second language (I guess that makes sense) and had no idea where my translation was and had to look it up. Surprise surprise, not translated yet. I asked to cancel the order, and made sure to get a confirmation in writing that they would cancel my order that very day.On a side note, at the same time I contacted another company to translate my document, and the next day I had a certified translation, the day after, I had a sworn translation. Two days in total for both.Back to the review. The 18th rolls around, and I still havent heard anything about my order cancellation, so I call again, and the same thing happens. Confused person on the line, looks up my order, nothing, says well cancel todayDo you think they cancelled my order yet? Let me answer that.So now its the 27th, and I call again. This time, they cant refund my order because its been TOO LONG since I made it, so I had to give them my card information again. Finally, I got refunded. I breathed a sigh of relief, because I was sure I would never hear from these people again. Overall, Id give two stars.Until now, when I woke up to an email from them literally accusing me of fraud, showing me my refund receipt and telling me that unless I confirmed with them that I never got that receipt, they would report me for fraud.Well I definitely did get that receipt, but thats little merit to accuse me of fraud. I triple checked with my bank to see if maybe I accidentally decided to commit fraud within the last three months, and they confirmed that I did not.So yeah, if youre wondering if you should utilize this company, if youre wondering if you should contact this company, or if youre wondering whether you should even be within 5 miles of this company, get away.

I used their services for translation of my birth certificate and passport. 1) The details of the provided services was not clearly communicated, I had to email a few times in order to clarify them.2) I emailed them the documents and made a payment early Friday afternoon, and was told it would take one day. In fact, my translations were ready on Tuesday.3)Besides that, I actually had to correct how they translated the names of the places where I was born and where the certification was registered. 4)Upon initial contact I was told that the documents will be mail either by the 1st class mail or Fedex for additional $50. Although, they mailed it without asking me how Id like to have them delivered and sent it by regular USPS mail. It took over a week for me to get the hard copies of the translations: they were mailed on Tuesday, and I received them on Wednesday (!) next week, and I live in the same city!5) The photocopies of the original birth certificate and passport were done on the printer that was running out of ink. The printed copies were of very poor quality with white lines from the printer through the pages.

L.A. Translation (Junhui Park) announced a job on the ProZ.com, indicating $0.01 USD to $0.05 USD per word price.(Mention from the Proz.com staff:The budget entered for this job is below the rates charged by at least 80% of ProZ.com members for this currency and these pairs:English - French, English - German, English - Polish, English - Portuguese, English - Russian, English - Turkish).I sent an e-mail to the company, indicating that this price is absolutely unacceptable and pointing that at least six translator have mentioned significant non-payment issues on the so-called Blue Board of the company. I received a response from Jay Gosu (proz dot latranslation at gmail dot com, no title, no signature whatsoever) with a file attached (?) and the following text: (with no name at the beginning, no signature in the end)Hi can you please confirm? I will be going to sleep soon.I sent him a response with a request to change his style, mentioning that If you would like (to order) something, you need to ASK.And I received an astonishing response:Didnt take your meds today? If you knew how to read English, you can see I was asking you questions, not ordering you.I think my response was still proper:Dear Mr Gosu,I do not know who you are there on the other side of the world but this is not the way you shall to communicate with anyone.Your style is the worst ever I met in 27 years of being in this industry.Your future e-mails will remain unread and will be not answered.I am publishing all this because clients shall know how this company is recruiting translators and how this company communicates with them.No one shall receive such e-mails. No one shall be offended, abused, humiliated at work/in any collaboration.I addressed him in all my e-mails as Mr Gosu and tried to remain respectful. All my e-mails contained my full business signature. In my opinion, such company deserves to be excluded from the community of professionals and clients shall know about this, too. Translators shall be heard not just treated as slaves/animals. Project managers shall treat foreign translators as business partners. At least if the company wants loyal subcontractors.I hope very much that Ms Junhui Park will make appropriate actions and respond...

One of the worst places I dealt with. High prices and there is no accuracy in their work and time. The guy works in the reception said we will contact you once the paper finish and he did not call. When I contacted them to make sure that the paper is ready, a woman replied does not know anything. I came to the office and found that he did not translate at all. When asked him about it he said take it and get out and we don’t need your money . He was so racist, rude and impolite guy. I went to the manger, she didn’t give me any solution and her personality is very weak. They are unprofessional, I would never recommend dealing with them.

I got my certified translation from them first, but the Spanish Consulate told me it has to be done by a Sworn Translator. I told them and they got me a Sworn Translation from Madrid Spain without any extra charge the next day morning. They could have asked for more but they didn’ t so I ordered some more translations. I had very positive experience with this company.

I recently had to get my college transcripts and resume translated to apply for grad school abroad and LA Translation helped me every step of the way. They answered all my questions about pricing over the phone and were fast and efficient in translating my documents under a rushed deadline. I just e-mailed them my scanned documents and they were ready for pick up the very next day! I would highly recommend them for all your translating needs--I know some of my fellow future grad students will be using them soon!

Keep away from this place. They play with your time... worst experience ever and they seem like they use internet translation to do the work, as they kept bringing the papers with mistakes and arguing that the original said that. It was my personal papers so for sure I know names and other words were incorrect still they will say thats what the paper says. I had to point the original many times so they could understand the translation was wrong. Time and money wasted. At the end I missed the delivery time for the documents and lost the money.

We needed an Arabic translation of a deed to record it in Norwalk to close the escrow, and the owner was a court certified interpreter and a paralegal as well, so she navigated through the complicated system easily and provided us with a certified translation in a day at a price much lower than quoted by others. Very professional.
