An absolutely wonderful bike shop with top-notch bike mechanics. Family owned, no pressure, extremely affordable, detailed explanation of costs and services, very good selection of bikes and household items and so much more. By far one of the best business I have had the pleasure of serving as a customer.

Great place they have here. They helped me install new parts on my bike and they did it finely. You can tell they enjoy their job because they seem interested and careful about what they are doing. Very nice family. This will be my new bike shop when I need one.

I was just there to get a simple rack installed on the back of my bike. the man wouldnt even look at it. He told me he didnt have the right bolts. I just left shaking my head and he continued to play on his computer. I doubt ill ever return. I went down the street to another bicycle shop. that man had it mounted and fixed in 10 minutes. But on the other hand, LA golden bicycle seems to be tops. I will be his repeat customer

Was looking for a cheap bicycle and they sold one that was far from good shape but would do. Went half a mile a found out that some electrical tape wrapped around the handlebars was the only thing keeping it securely in place! Went back for a refund and the guy was extremely rude and combative. He even accused me of being the one who damaged the bike. In the end he shoved my money at me and told me angrily to “get out of here.”

***ENTER THIS SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK***So I moved to L.A. A few months ago(raised in Ca.) and needed a bike shop, as I planned on riding to work. So I read the reviews about Catalina Bike Shop, they were very positive, so I decided to give it a shot. I knew I needed a tune up and possibly more. I arrived about two weeks ago and explained my concerns. Was givens a couple of pricing options and chose the $90 tune up which included straightening my rims, fixing my stem and housing if needed, and lube. I picked up my bike a week later and it appeared fine. The shop attendant explained that the stem was fine, they just took it apart, lubed it up and put it back together. I rode it home and it felt great. Two weeks later the stem is still shaky when I ride and brake. Then I got a flat tire. I called the shop ahead of time to see if they guaranteed their work. Ester indicated that they did, but she would need to look at the bike. I wanted to make sure that during the truing process, the rim wasnt damaged and that is what caused the flat. Other wise I knew I would need to fix it myself. So I get to the shop, remind Ester of our conversation (which she said she didnt recall only after two days), and allow her to remove the tire to check the rim, tire and inner tube. It took Ester about four to five minutes to remove, and check the rim. I never said I wanted a new inner tube (I have two at home) I just wanted to make sure they did the work correctly. Then Ester explains that they are going to charge me $5 dollars for checking their work. I work and five bucks is no biggie, but how about some customer service. I wont waste my to me trying to get them to fix the stem work that they guarantee. Could tell by all of their reactions that they really dont need or care too much about my patronizing their business. So I guess its back to either Pasadena, Montrose or La Cañada for services.***ZERO STARS IF IT IS POSSIBLE***PLEASE, PLEASE THINK TWICE ABOUT GOING HERE FOR SERVICE...OR THE LACK THERE OF!

Took my old bike in for a tuneup. I was pretty sure it really only needed minor work. Id been riding six months before, but it had been strapped to the roof of my van since, while I traveled. They had the tuneup finished in less than an hour and, when I picked it up, they told me it was ten bucks. I was sure Id misheard, but $10 was what was on the receipt.Ive never paid less than forty, and that was at least 20 years ago! Btw, they did a great job.

It is possible that they seem rude. Its because their English is limited. They are not rude. Their expression is rude b/c of their limited English.

Think twice before going to this cheap bike shop. This family run buisness has no type of cycling background at all and I really don’t think this bike shop should even be open! Overpriced and cheap!

The owners of the business are present with their own son working as the cashier. I wouldnt have any problem with this small family owned bicycle shop if it werent for them trapping me within the store. Once attacked and held against my will being wrongfully accused of trying to leave without paying for service. The problem is that I paid a mesely $10 to fix a flat tire before leaving my bike with these crazy people to go use the restroom then return to this madness. The whole family is nuts for completely violating my rights as a human being. I have a video of this incident and will be posting on YouTube. I want to be compensated for this awfulness. Feel free to contact me if you want any information regarding this......
