I’m from Chicago so I was looking for a salon in LA to have my hair done I found this salon on Google made an appointment and decided to give them a try. I went today the salon is very professional, clean, up to date on COVID standards and has an amazing atmosphere. My stylist was Kene and the owner was there as well doing her thing both stylist and the assistant are great ladies. My stylist was on time for my appointment and had me in and out. I love my hair and I got exactly was I was looking for I’ll definitely be back…. ✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾 I use to shy away from the salon because I can’t stand going to salons that are cluttered, ghetto and my stylist is not on time, on the phone etc and this salon is the exact opposite. I’m definitely a fan and when I go back and forth from the Chi to LA this is where I’m getting my hair done

UPDATE: Ive changed my review from 5 stars to 2. After taking some time and thinking, I updated it. I asked for a full perimeter out and a deep middle part so I can wear a ponytail because I will be wearing ponytails often, however, instead of leaving out the full perimeter they left out 2in above both my ears. I didnt notice it until the following day when I tried a ponytail. I called the next day they were open and was able to get a time to go in for them to fix it. She took down a couple rows of tracks and re-sewed them saying it would be fully covered, but there is still the same 2in of braids instead of a full perimeter. Before they sewed the tracks the first time, they asked if the perimeter was good and I checked the thickness of it to make sure it could cover tracks, I did not think I had to check to make sure they had the full perimeter out since its what I asked for. Even with her edits, I can pull it into a ponytail but it does not look natural. This sewin w/ kinky curly hair has never had a problem with perimeter, so I dont know why this even happened. I was told to just use the other leave out to cover the tracks, but unfortunately there is not enough to completely cover. She seemed more concerned about not disturbing the tracks when it all needed to be taken down and redone so the full perimeter out as I asked. I told them what I wanted and just sat back and relaxed, without overseeing. I def did not ask for a full perimeter out (except 2 above my ears), perhaps it was an off day cause they both are great individuals.Dont get me wrong, these are great people, the owner is very sweet and the lady who does braiding is as well. They are very knowledgable however, make sure you check every step they are doing.I recommend them but make sure you are watching and reiterate exactly what you want so you are happy with the outcome.

I went here 7/14/21 on my birthday after me feeling like my ponytail was to tight once I took it out I had a bald spot in the middle of my head and I been having pain and soreness in my head like it’s been burnt out never felt this way but it don’t feel good

The atmosphere is amazing. The beauticians and customers alike are all pleasant. Mel always has my hair on point and she thoroughly explains what she’s doing and what she recommends and asks questions so she can enlighten you about maintenance after you leave her chair. She truly cares about the health of her clients hair! Overall great experience! Highly recommended!

I went here one time . The style had an attitude and burnt my hair. I will never go back . I went to your salon November 18,2018 . I don’t remember the ladies name , but you did my press. She was dark skin with short hair. Just because you have no record doesn’t mean I didn’t come. I was highly upset and walked out when she was finished

Got the luxury digital perm and I love it! They asked a lot of questions regarding my day-to-day routine and tailored the cut and perm to how Im able to style it at home. The curls are just what I wanted, and my hair doesnt feel dry. They are also really friendly and nice. 10/10 would recommend!

What I love the most about this salon (besides Melanie) is that it is a comfortable and welcoming environment. This is key for me since I suffer from alopecia and all the psychological stress that comes with that. Melanie makes sure all of her clients feel welcomed. Plus, she is genius at making sure I have different options for my weaves. I always leave feeling fabulous. Weather it is working with me in a private room or just her fun and engaging conversation, I always feel safe at Hair Beat, and that is very important to me. She has created a wonderful vibe and she is a master with every type of hair and styles. I know, because I have witnessed it first hand. Natural, Cuts, Color, Weaves, Custom Wigs - you cannot go wrong here. Do yourself a favor, and go get your Hair Beat!

The price was reasonable the hair products is good as well. I have to give three stars for simple fact that they book clients around the same time of another client. If you have appointment at certain time and you are there on time you shouldn’t have to wait. The person that’s should be doing your hair should be working only on your hair until she is done. Trying to do multiple hairs at the same time is not cool.
