I came here with my brother to get his hair shaved. Its a welcoming and calming environment. For manly guys, the straight razor shaving is the facial. Its a wonderful feeling. Theres nothing like a hot towel on your skin or the manly scent of shaving cream to instantly relieve tension. We were overjoyed when we returned home. He said he liked his new haircut. It comes highly recommended!

I greatly appreciate the effort and skill they put into their lively hood.Ive been to many barbershops in LA and its easy for me to say that Victor is one of the best. He takes his time to make sure you get the results you request. One of my favorite things about James Barber Shop is how diverse the clientele is. You see Asians, Latinos, African-american, etc all coming here to get a high quality hair cut. This place is an LA landmark and has stood the test of time and will continue to do so.I do like to try out other barbers on occasion based on recommendations from friends but I always return here where Quality and Consistency is King.

Book a reservation for Victor online. This is the cleanest fade I have gotten since Ive been in LA and Victor knows exactly how to make your hair right for your head. Precise and thoughtful. I will definitely come back before interviews/big events to get a clean fade.

I’ve been to a ton of different barbers, with wide ranges in quality, but the haircut I got from Victor here was surprisingly good for the price.Victor really took his time and it was clear that there was a lot of attention to detail going on. A long process but without a doubt a thorough one.It felt like I got a little more hair cut off than what I wanted, I wanted around a half inch off but it seemed closer to a full inch off but honestly, Im still cool with it because it looks great. And that could just be me!Overall though, the actual location is nice, Victor was attentive and diligent, and the haircut was great.If I ever find myself back in LA again, I’ll definitely hit this place up.

Horrible shop. Incredibly rude, plays favorites with appointments if you can even set one up. Takes up to an hour or more for a simple haircut. Waste of money. Huge mistake setting foot in this place.

Called this morning (Wed @ 9.10am), asked how much are haircuts, and I was told $30 cash only. I advised the person who answered the phone, Id be on my way. I was told is by appt only and theyre booked today. Really? Is probably better to put a sign out there, We are NOT taking new business.

Would shave my face cause Im black is what it think what type of barber shop cant razor shave or clipper shave he say he was booked but was half sleep in a chair when I walked in an denied my monies 3 times everytime different excuse. This place is awful.
