Fantastic experience. Definitely worth the visit. This is my second time visiting this business, and each visit has left me more than impressed. Both of the barbers that performed on my hair were hospitable, respectful, and talented.I was actually late, a few minutes late, for my second visit; and the 2nd Barber, who is also the owner, didnt even make a big splash about it. He was very patient.If you are looking for a place that will give you an excellent cut without all of the extra Frills and politics, this is definitely the place. These men work really hard here and you wont be disappointed.

Came to this place 3 times to try and get my haircut first time they didn’t have anyone available! Second and third time there are no appointments why say you take walk ins when you don’t have anyone available to cut hair makes no sense to me at all! Definitely won’t be trying to come back here again an absolute disaster! So unprofessional too blows my mind how they run their business like this and it’s survived through the pandemic! Why are so many black owned businesses in LA such a bust another one to add to that list! Do better!

I love supporting black business but when communication can not be trusted is when I can not be placed in the same category of what you are accustomed to... Dont give me a timeframe and have me catch an uber to your business with my kids just to tell me I have to wait another 3 hours. Im not your typical clientele and we are not the same. I came to Fade U for the first time. My appointment was with Gigz. Hes upstairs I love his work space. Its very clean. I came for ear exfoliation with candles for the first time. Just left from there and this is my go to barbershop , but won’t be after today . Came in to get a cut from the guy closest to the stairway and he gave me a bald fade after complaining he couldn’t cover my hair up with fibers In the back . I let him do a bald fade , when I was done I gave him my normal 40 because I go to him ALL THE TIME & his haircuts were $35 .. today he told me $60 I still payed it & walked out . My friend is there getting a cut still after I leave and he starts talking about me not knowing my friend is in there and that we know each other & proceeded to Argue with my friends. Money hungry & not worth it and had the nerve to talk about QUALITY . You are the worst barber there & I’ve gotten better QUALITY haircuts from the Dominicans . Nvr again

My first time at Fade U was great. The setting was good and proper protocol was taken during these times. I was able to walk out the barbershop a different man. The cut was amazing, it’s my new place to get cuts now.

I’m a tour a charter driver from Phoenix, I’ve been out on the road working for a few weeks now. I was in the area. So I stepped in to get cleaned up. The owner of the shop greeted me with a warm , humorous greeting, that made me feel comfortable right out the gate. The wait wasn’t that long and the the feel in the shop was relaxing and full of laughter. I was directed to Coleen Souza, a beautiful artist, who took care of exactly what I came in the shop for. She had great conversation and made me feel comfortable, she explained every step of her process from beginning to end. It was a long drive from Phoenix to Los Angeles, but after sitting with Coleen, I was revived and ready to complete the rest of my day. Awesome Barber Shop! The owner and everyone in the shop were extremely warm and inviting. Ashley cut my hair. She was very personable and did an absolute amazing job. First things first, no matter what chair you sit in, you’ll leave looking 10x better than when yo came into this shop. Each barber makes you feel like you’re their client. Always so friendly, cordial, and professional. I live 30-40 minutes away and I still make that drive every weekend. They offer multiple beverages for you to refresh yourself with and it’s very spacious. My barber, GIGZ, is the best in the business. Keeps my and my beard looking like it’s my birthday er’day! Based on past experience at other places, I tend to look down on barbers who do things like get on their phone and have conversations about nothing that has to do with you as their client. My experience at Fade U was great. My barber Misslady cuts there now so I stopped in to get a shape-up with her. The barbers there were welcoming, the music/atmosphere was laid back and they even hooked me up with refreshments. After doing A LOT of research, we called Fade U. First, the owner told us not to worry, just to come in and he would make sure he took care of us and would fit us in. As soon as we got there, everyone made us feel like we were at our “home” barber shop. Ashley, our barber, got us in right away, asked what kind of cut we wanted, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! She did EXACTLY what I asked for. 🚫 NOT CLEAN / RASH ON MY FACE🚫 QUALITY OF WORK POOR🚫 THE MOST EXPENSIVE HAIRCUT EVER.- 33 years of getting haircuts Ive never experienced a rash on my face. The rash was a perfect line from where the barber was lining me up.- The quality of work was poor, my line up was slanted my hair wasnt evenly cut. The barber forgot to blend in the backside of my hair where everyone noticed.- Lets not forget how expensive this place is $50 for a fade. Nothing special! Skin fade and 1/2 on top. (No Hot towel shave / No design /) a simple haircut.The owner will probably write back a response. I just want everyone to know at the end of the day. $50.00 for a simple haircut and breakout rash and the Quality of the work doesnt cover it.-----------I would never recommend this place. Even if the owner gives me a free haircut I still wont go back due to the high gene of that barber shopOh! dont feel fooled. After getting a haircut they will insist you to write a review on Google.

She has an amazing vibe and energy to her as well. I finally found my LA barber, and finding someone GREAT is a hard thing. I highly recommend her. Such a great staff and environment. I got a haircut in less that an hour of walking in. Got offered a drink and had a fantastic chat with my barber. Going back here every couple weeks to get touched up. Highly suggested, everyone is extremely nice and the vibe is perfect!

What a difference between my first and second visit to the shop. I walk in on a Sunday morning, soon after 11. One stylist working with one client. Theyre in the middle of conversation so I say quiet a hello and take a seat to wait my turn. Ten minutes later another client walks in. Shes yet to finish with the gent in the chair. Twenty five minutes after arriving she finishes with the initial gent, cleans her space, then ushers the guy that arrived ten minutes after me up to her chair. Either I didnt realize I was still wearing my invisibility cloak or she chose to just deny me service for no cause, reason, or explanation.This is profoundly disappointing because I live in the neighborhood. Ive made it a point over the last few months to invest money into the neighborhood as much as possible. What better way to do that than to walk three blocks from my apartment to a stylist for a haircut? The biggest irony? Shes the stylist that cut my hair four weeks ago during my first visit. In fact, she left me an incredible hair cut that left me with no hesitation giving a $10 tip on a $40 cut. But, at the end of the day, customer service has more value than a bomb cut. After this morning she left me no reason to return.

Every time I am at FADE U, I have a truly enjoyable experience. My barber, Trell always shows exemplary service! If I’m ever down when going to get a haircut, he is sure to lift my spirits! Took me a little time to find a good Barber when I moved out here. But the wait came to an end when I came to Fade U. One year later and I still get my hair cut here by Trell. Hes the Goat. The other barbers are also pretty good. And the customer service is A1. Highly recommend getting a cut here.

It took me over a year to find her and have been her client for another couple year. Could not be happier and won’t switch barbers, unless she retires.

To the owner, your barbers are talented but the customer service is amazingly horrible. It would do your bank account well to teach them how a business runs and not just a chair. You will have great service anytime from any barber you decide to go to. But my friendship is with Trell and honestly I can say he’s one of the best barbers in LA.
