Westside Transmission & Automotive Inc. (WTA) did a fantastic job repairing my car. On two occasions, my car had to come to WTA. The first time I had placed my car at another shop after picking it up from the shop and driving it for one hour, the car would not shift into park. The vehicle was towed to the WTA. Through their superb work, it was discovered the other shop had made a significant mistake and caused the engine to shift and push the transmission out of place. Steven took the time to communicate with the other shop, and they repaired the car.I noticed when driving the car, there was a hesitation when the transmission had to change gears. The warrant on my car sent me back to WTA for services. I went back to the shop without any reluctance because of the outstanding service I previously experience. Upon my arrival, I had the pleasure of dealing with Steven for the 2nd time. Through the excellent services, it was discovered that I needed a new transmission. The replacement of the transmission got approved and was fully paid for by the warrant. In the process of them working on my car, it was discovered that the same company that previously caused damage to my car had created another problem. Without that problem being repaired, the transmission could not be installed. Once again, Steven called the other auto mechanic shop, and they paid for the problem they created. The services you receive at WTA are exceptional, and the staff is friendly and will go out of their way to provide the best assistance possible. Steven took the time to talk to me, explain the process, and communicate with another shop that created problems with my car. These guys were so incredibly helpful - they were honest, quick, and helped to educate. I definitely recommend them if you purchased through Carvana like I did because they were really savvy with helping to get things done that were covered in the warranty, which I really appreciate. Lol, they may have great reviews but they will want to charge you $390 just to look at your car. I went somewhere else, simply because I thought the diagnosis fee was obscene!

The name is apt: this should be your go-to auto repair shop if you live on the Westside. I had my car towed from my house to the garage while I wasn’t home and I received updates when the car was received at the shop as well as upon completion of the repairs.They were able to diagnose the problem quickly and have me back on the road in a day. The staff is extremely helpful and was always available to take my call. I cannot recommend Westside enough, especially as a AAA member.

I had this company rebuild my transmission and torque converter in July 0f 2014 on my 1993 G-30 Chevrolet van. It cost me over $2,900 and was given a 24 month or 24K warranty (which ever came first) for the work. I live out of state and travel frequently out of state in the van and had only used it sparingly while storing it for several months of the year in a covered storage facility. I had only 10,400 miles on the van when the vans transmission failed again. I was asked by Westside Transmission to have the van towed to them to verify that the transmission was faulty. Unfortunately I was unable to have it towed 150 miles back to them from outside the Bakersfield, CA area since the cost of this would have been excessive. I had it towed to Tehachapi Transmission shop in Tehachapi, CA for an estimate where they discovered the work Westside Transmissions rebuild was poorly done and in fact two bolts within the transmission were not torqued down and came loose causing extensive internal damage due to blocking the flow of transmission fluid and overheating to the transmission. I offered Westside Transmission photos and to discuss the matter with the other Tehachapi Transmission mechanic who assessed the damage but they declined. Westside Transmission offered to rebuild my vans transmission again for $2,700 by discounting it $200 for me. I opted not to since it was their negligence that caused it to break down again with so little miles since they rebuilt it. I asked them to reconsider a larger discount since it had only 10,400 miles since they rebuilt it but they declined citing the warranty had expired. I would recommend anyone needing rebuilt transmission work to use another company or a nationwide service vendor since Westside Transmission will not honor their faulty work even though I told them originally I was moving the work van across the country to Florida and if I experienced a problem I would be able to get it repaired during the warranty in another state. They told me, yes they would honor their work outside the area by a certified transmission mechanic. Obviously they were not willing to do this by insisting to have it towed to them and not giving more than a $200 discount for their work that should have been done right the first time.

Went to 3 different mechanics that wouldnt service my Transmission, called it non serviceable but these guys took care of my Camaro the same day when i was ready to give up. They are awesome, nice and answer any questions you have upfront. Would recommend to anyone.

Jeff & Laura were so helpful, Jeff phoned me back several times keeping me updated and letting me know what repairs were needed. In such a big city it’s great to find somewhere that does a great job and has great staff. I definitely will be back should we need any additional repairs or work.

I took my BMW X5 because the dealer said their was a problem with the valve body. Westside could not detect the problem even though BMW said their was a problem. I was told they would not install any parts until their are sure that the problem exists. Honest company and lots of integrity. 11-4-20

My car needed new rotors and break pads! I had them replaced about 30,000 miles ago but they were already worn and the car would shake when braking downhill. Westside replaced everything and said if I experienced the same issue to brink it back. We went on a long trip after the work with no issues. The work they did is superior!Since this, Ive taken other cars there for timing belt replacement, and regular maintenance. I wont be going anywhere else!!

My car is a 2010 Expedition that is our life savor. To and from work, pick ups, drop offs, school, and our big baby. When we find out our car needed major work, I freaked out!!! I googled automotive repair place that would be close to work and Westside Transmission came up. Westside was so knowledgable and professional, the repairs were completed in a timely manner as promised, and they had an open communication with me throughout the repairs. Highly recommended, especially coming from someone whose family is totally depended on their car.

Westside Transmission is a great! Ive had my RX300 serviced there a couple of times and each time my experience has been excellent. The folks that work there are very professional, the prices are fair, and they do great work. I highly recommend.

I have a tough time trusting anyone when it comes to looking under the hood of my car. I don’t know much about cars and when they tell me something needs replaced I get nervous. I DO NOT FEEL THAT WAY ANYMORE!! Steven and his guys at this shop are so nice and they ain’t trying to pull the wool over my eyes. So relieved I can just take my car somewhere and get fixed what needs to get fixed. No lies!! Plus Laura up front is always easy to talk to and so nice to see in person. 6 outta 5 stars!!!

First time to this business to check and fix my brakes. I had such a positive experience! Steven and Laura were everything I want from a customer service experience: patient, kind, extremely service oriented, including arranging a Lyft for me, to and from my house. They are so friendly and even let my dog come in! As for the work, my car was ready to go on the same day. Brakes and sensors are great. The pricing for the work done was very competitive. Friendly and honest staff, thorough and fast service, what more could one ask for? My car broke down and I had it towed there with recommendation from AAA, left it over night and the next morning they called me with the full diagnostics. As soon as I gave the permission to start they ordered my parts, the labor took about 3 hours. I’m grateful to have found this place, and will be returning for routine services.

Great service. I got a good feeling about them when I called. The guy I spoke with was very knowledgeable. It was important for me to get my issue resolved quickly as I need my car to get back and forth to work. I brought my car in the morning and was out by the afternoon. The pricing was explained well and I found it to be fair. They only use factory or better parts which I really liked as I am not in the mood to go through this again. They give a 2 year warranty which I think is great.

The guys were very nice to work with. They took in my car for an appointment to deal with brake issues and worked on it while I was at work and helped me get transportation in-between so I wasnt stuck. Westside Transmission is a lifesaver. My car overheated and died on my way to work and after being towed there, they were able to diagnose my car within 20 minutes. I brought my 1996 Honda del Sol in (Westside had put in a new clutch and some other transmission work before) and told Steve it wasnt starting...thought it would be an expensive repair, but it turned out to be a simple fix and much cheaper than expected!

I’m so happy I found this shop. Needing car repair in general is unpleasant but I was pleasantly surprised by how patient and knowledgeable everyone here was. They took the time to thoroughly explain why and what I needed. They have replaced my timing belt in the past and helped me out when the dealer could not figure out my issue on 4 separate occasions. They just did my 90K miles service. I am so happy to have an auto repair shop that I can trust.

TOTAL SCAM - not trustworthy mechanics here. By the way he gives like $10 discounts for 5 star reviews so dont trust those. I took my car in because my service engine light came on and this was the closest place. They charged me $200 just for a diagnostic test then said a change of spark plug and coil was another $1000, when I opted out he made me pay for my rental car service which he said he would cover originally. When my car got to the next auto shop they discovered my caps were all left unscrewed. My regular mechanic did the whole job for $250. AVOID THIS PLACE! The dude is actually evil he inflicted more damage on my car once I told him over the phone I was not going to move forward with the repair. I am filing a complaint on the CA BAR. Hopefully people like this find what they deserve in hell

These people do great work at a great price and are real straight shooters. Even though I moved a little further away I make a point to use them for all my automotive needs.edit: As an aside, I want to add that they gave me a free facemask at one point and its become my most used facemask by far. Ive bought at least ten facemasks and theirs is the one that fits the best and is most comfortable.

Steven and his staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They communicated as needed and repaired my car much faster than anticipated. They were excellent in helping me with a rental car. 12/10 will use their services again.

The customer service here is wonderful!I sort of found them by accident when I pulled over to take a call from the Jeep dealer. The dealer gave me their estimate for repairs, it was very high, so I immediately started looking up mechanics in my area. There was one right next to me (surprise!) with good reviews, so I just walked in. I was distressed about my car and they were kind to me, and very easy to work with. Always answered calls, answered all my questions, and gave me a good deal that I trusted.They even had snacks for me and my dog!

I brought in a 55 Oldsmobile with the original Hydramatic transmission that would not shift into fourth gear. I had it rebuilt at another shop and it was never right but my work warranty ran out. Very hard to find transmission shops that will touch these old beasts but Westside came to my rescue. They tore it down and asked me to come in to inspect the previous work, I was stunned at how bad the trans looked inside. I asked Steve at Westside if his guys could resurrect my trans. I was happy to hear that his mechanics work on old school automatic transmissions all the time. Parts are usually hard to find for old transmissions but Steve put me back on the road. They explained everything and have finally find my go-toplace for my 2002 Jaguar XKR. IF they could fix this, they can fix anything. (not even the Dealer could diagnose the problems correctly). And Westside stands behind their work for two years or 24,000 miles!

Got a quote for the repair on my Mercedes and was surprised at how knowledgeable the guy that answered the phone was. I felt comfortable to bring my car in and they stuck to their intial quote and time frames. I am happy. I highly recommend.

Followed through with everything they said they would do, no more noises from the transmission after a full rebuild. They even threw in a couple extra parts that needed replacement that they didnt catch at first, for free. Pretty close to their estimated finish time on the job.

I was not in Los Angeles when my car broke down. I had my car towed to Westside Transmission & Automotive Inc. where previously I had never been. They arranged with me, over the phone, to fix and pay for my car. Everything and the way they did it was perfect.

I took my car to Westside Transmission because it didnt seem to be running correct. I was greeted by a guy who listened to my problem. He took the car for a road test. Then in terms that I could understand he explained what he needed to repair and approximately how much it would cost. He said it would take two days. The next day he called ans said it was finished. When I came back I found out that the original guy was Jack, he really came through. Priced and stated as he said and I couldnt be happier.
