I was driving to work along the frontage road outside of Alexander this morning. As I was driving, a CalArk truck pulled out onto the frontage road and nearly caused an accident.Now I am completely aware truck drivers need time to pull out and that people need to be patient, but this driver did not give other drivers enough time to stop as we were far too close to where he was pulling out from. I had to slam on my brakes to prevent myself from hitting the truck.I suppose CalArk drivers dont know how to properly drive because this is certainly not the first time something like this has happened.

I was recently in Little Rock near one of their terminals. I was looking for a turnaround place and saw their large driveway. I thought they would understand I needed to make a U turn as Im sure many of their own drivers have experienced. Absolutely not turnaround sign. Wouldnt even consider driving for a company like this.

Its a great company to work for. I never missed a home call and they are flexible with me,Karen is a great DM always on top of me. A con for me is gotta be some old trailers are a pain to work with but at least the mechanic do a good job keeping them in top shape. Trucks come with apu and a inverter been govern at 70 is a huge plus for me compare to other major companies that only let you go 65.

I love CalArk . I get treated with respect and I get my miles! The administration listens when you have an issue arise and get you answers. They get you home and when I had an emergency arise last week they got my load reassigned and got me a car to get home. They truly care about their drivers and appreciate us. I feel like we are a great big family and drivers help other drivers company or lease we are teammates!

Best company Ive every worked for , good pay , great benefits, and opportunities to move up as long as your willing to put forth the effort to earn those opportunities.

Wrecklace driver past me Im in another tractor trailer heading north on SR 17 north bound in Arcadia FL in a 45 zone Im going bout 47mph and about to pass my house...looking to see if my son was out at the road yet to catch the bus for highschool when a driver from cal-ark came speeding past me so fast I couldnt read the name on back of the truck as soon as he past so I caught up to him and seen what company it was that just flew past my house thats actually in a 35 zone....to make it short he was speeding in every 35...45 zone he could find...I turned in zolpho springs and he stayed on 17 still speeding threw the slow zones in zolpho...Im sure when he hit wauchula he was still speeding...it was 5:56am on Sept 10th 2020 when he past me in zolpho springs, do with that said Im sure yall can figure out who was driving that day cab

There drivers are not courteous ambassadors of the highway got stuck in slow traffic and the driver would not back off to let me over not to mention flying through a 55 mph zone looks like the need to train their drivers better before they get stuck with a hefty lawsuit

Exceptionally accommodating for outside carriers; professional, fast and friendly service. They have a very clean and organized terminal in Little Rock. Im not associated with them but qualities to be proud or, for sure.

There is good and bad about this company. If you are a driver seeking employment here make sure you know dot rules and regs. The company pays well and for the most part treats you right. If you go to work in the warehouse division as a straight truck driver, you may be putting your license in jeopardy. This company has an over the road mentality for this division. This mind set is not the best ideal for some drivers that are working in this division. I think they are hiring some drivers on, with them being unaware of the liabilities that a professional driver has to accept and deal with on a daily basis. This is not saying that the company is deliberately putting bad drivers on the road. Although you may find some that are not aware of the full scope of their responsibilities as a professional driver and how it relates to the safety of the motoring public. If you are an experienced driver and are willing to go the extra mile from time to time, you should do well at Calark. If you are not, beware and do a lot of research so you can be ready for what you will get into.

Its a great place to work, good insurance and I never sit waiting for a load. Office staff and dispatchers and kind and understanding. If your gonna drive a truck, this is a good place to do it.

What I saw this evening from truck 2214 in Austin Tx was absolutely unprofessional, he had no regard to Texas laws. The driver drove in the passing lane for a really long stretch of highway, and to make matters worse the signs clearly read No Trucks Left Lane. When I finally got a chance to pass him, he was on his phone(A 18 wheeler driver) I called to report him and the woman who responded did not seem to care that her driver was breaking laws. I will call corporate tomorrow because they are obviously taking shortcuts representation for the company sucked.

My son works here. They do on the job training. Great insurance and friendly employees. Health benefits are excelellent and my son is sent straight to doctors if any health issue come up. Also the supervisors interact well and professionally with the employees( my son has told me this). Not my experience personally. You can have that 5th star Cal Ark. I feel my son is in good hands and trained in an excellent career. Thank you

As a company driver, I stay busy never really sitting. There has been the occasional layover or low week. Thats normally due to holiday, or such. Dispatch is decent and normally quick turn around for Laredo loads. Cant really complain as a driver with quite a few years under my belt as owner operator and company driver with other companies, CalArk has done alright by me. Just make sure you use the Qualcomm rather than phone for communication with dispatch.

Would choose lower if possible. My item has been in their warehouse in Little Rock, AR since July 26. Today is August 3rd. No contact has been attempted on their end. I started calling Tuesday, and found out Latosha was the person I needed to talk to. I have left four messages on her voicemail, no return call. Finally today she answered after only 2 calls. Item wont be scheduled for delivery until Monday or Tuesday and she will call and let me know when the route has been scheduled. But will she?????? After a total of 8 phone calls and no attempt at customer service, I would never choose this service. Free shipping is awesome, but when I ordered the item on July 3, and it wont get to me until August 9, is that worth it? Wayfair should rethink their choice of shippers. I will definitely e asking who the shipper is before ordering anything else!

Come in off of Otter Creek rd. 0800 appt, arrived at 0600. (They open at 6). Was assigned a dock right away. Slide tandems, chalk wheels, remove airline. Loaded & rolling at 0750. Plenty of backing room

I just finished orientation this week. They take very good care of new hires during this time making sure all meals are covered, transportation to orientation and lodging. Everyone was very polite and professional. I would for sure give 5 stars for this.The downside: I signed up for Texas Regional to get by the house more often and to stay out of the harsh winter weather that blankets the north every year. The pay is for some reason $.10/mile more than OTR. This never makes sense to me. When I was at Concentra after having to redo my physical waiting for their shuttle I found out by talking to other drivers that TX Regional drivers are assigned the oldest International (currently 2014) trucks they have on the property. I do not care for this brand of truck period. I immediately called recruiting as this was not disclosed to me. Had I been told this up front I would NOT have signed on and likely this is the reason it was not disclosed to me. It has been told to me that this is the owners decision. When I got in the truck I was extremely disappointed. Not at all like the pic on the website nor what I have observed other drivers driving I have seen on the road! It was small tight space. No place for microwave, extremely little to no storage space and no Fridge! No can do. If you are claustrophobic this would not work. As a home daily truck or for someone who could afford to eat out every meal, this would work. Zero comparison to the nice 2019 Pete I had just gotten out of at the prior company. So due to the owners policy I was unhappily forced to go OTR with the lower pay just to get a bigger truck. The next truck did not look any newer/nicer than the 2014 but I was told it was a 2017, again another International..not a Pete or Kenworth. It is ever so slightly larger with a top bunk that when dropped comes down to my chest. It does have a space for a microwave and space for a tiny fridge. I am expected to purchase a cooler or fridge and now I have to buy another microwave because the inverter is only 1000 watts. I have no money for either of these items. Im not sure what Im going to do about that. Also, I was told that the newer trucks with fridges are not assigned to drivers with pets and the wait is approximately one year out. The 2019 Pete, I left it in perfect condition with zero damage from myself or my pet. I like to keep my equipment in top condition inside and out. I do not like feeling less important to a company and this experience definitely makes me feel like Im on the lower end of the importance factor to this company yet Im going to drive the miles that the drivers driving the nice new trucks are driving. Extreme disappointment here. Needless to say on two points..two other driver friends who were going to sign up...after they heard the details of my experience and that the trucks assigned to new hires are not what they have seen on the road as well, they have decided not to apply with CalArk and I do not at all see CalArk in my longterm future after this experience of disappointment.

This company need to train their DM or FM on the difference of a truck load and a LTL load a truck load is one pick up one delivery and a LTL load is multiple pickups and multiple deliveries this company wants profit but u make nothing I wouldn’t recommend no one to work here !!!

I was an employee of the company for a short period of time and they think that they own you. Cant get no help or teamwork from the other employees that work there as well as unsafe and hazardous situations dont work here.

Well I have worked for 6 trucking companies. The last company I drove for, was Calark trucking. I had to stop working for them because of personal reasons. Im 49, and my kids are grown and out of the house, in college, or married. Im a single man. Its just me and my dog. lol. Im getting ready to go back on the road. And guess whos the first company I called to get a job? Thats right. Calark. I am talking with Marcy right now, working out the details to get back on with them. Every trucking company has its issues. None are perfect. But my experience with calark was wonderful. I especially love their equipment, which is top notch. I always got plenty of miles, and made good money. Hope to see you guys in a couple of weeks. God bless you all.

Company is extremely unsafe. A driver rear ended my wife and put her in the hospital. The driver tried to convince the police that my wife stomped on brakes, but the police reminded him he supposed to be two football fields away from cars. He was careless and only worried about his license. Other bystanders checked to make sure my wife was ok and they said he sat in the truck until police got their. I talked to the company and they were very rude about the situation, but it will be handled in court! Watch out for these trucks and do not hesitate to report them to DOT.

I called on Friday prior to my Monday delivery and was given a delivery window of 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. After they had closed for the day, I received an email saying my delivery window was 12-4. I immediately called back, was told that my original time would be honored, and to call back around 7:30 Monday morning. No answer at 7:45, left a message. No return call, I called back around 8:30 and was told it would be delivered sometime after 2. The representative then proceeded to argue that I shouldnt believe what they tell me on the phone, the driver will call 30 minutes prior to delivery and thats really all I should care about because that is plenty of time to get back home. Very disappointed, and would prefer to avoid ever dealing with this company again.

After having one of your drivers nearly run me off the road today... I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone.

Im a Central Hauling driver which we haul Cal Ark freight. All in all the employees at Cal Ark are pleasant. My husband and I like driving here. Smaller company closer to home. A personable company. Being the slow period as a team driver really no team freight Im home until it picks back up. Other wise a good company to drive for.

A Cal Ark driver has repeatedly parked her rig where it creates a serious driving hazard for my customers. She has been ticketed several times and has promised not to park there anymore. She lies. The company has said the same and apparently has no control over what the drivers do. I will never use this company!

The experience so far at their Lavergne tn location is the worst Ive seen as far as respecting other companies needs as far as hindering the flow of traffic. They block our flow of traffic and have no concern for what we need to be doing only concentrating on their needs. Have talked many times to people in charge and it never gets better at all.

They forgot to put my order on the truck twice... no call, wont answer the phone, no trying to make things right. They didnt even try to deliver it the next day... they rescheduled it for 5 days later and still didnt show up. Its ridiculous. This is the worst company Ive ever dealt with. My experience is with the Nashville office. Completely unprofessional, and I still havent received the delivery. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU CAN HELP IT!

Drivers are very unsafe nearly run us over to change lanes. It is clear they need better training for their personnel as they are not safe nor do they obey the law.

If ZERO stars were an option - thats what they would get. The La Vergne, TN was who I dealt with. It took 5 different delivery dates to receive my items (all no shows/reschedules on their part) and the day they finally did deliver they showed up 5 hours early while I was at work. 4 of my items were damaged and unusable and 3 were completely missing.BE - freaking - WARE.

Took off work AGAIN today. Called to check on it & they forgot to put it on the truck AGAIN! Seriously!?! We shall see if it gets here tomorrow like the lady said it would. Would NEVER recommend this company!

One of the places you dont want to be. First of all if you want to be an owner op all the trucks are all automatics and they sucks and been abuse like an esort. Second all the miles are good but doesnt pay anything at all because of the time period u have to turn in on Tuesday morning . Third dispatch are really rude and Im not polite and if you have a problem with the loan chances are you will get question by another dispatcher telling you why and u cant do that and if u do that u have to find an other job . Dispatcher will harass you constantly and if u end on with a dispatch called pattie then ur not in a good position @ all . And if you reject a loan you will get another call from Mike from Central stating that you cant reject any load and if you do you going to have to find another job. This job sucks they r family own but doesnt care about u or any beside them self , I made a mistake in this company is pathetic @ all ps if you are planning to switch as a company driver chances are thats not going to happen because how you run your loan . Its not a really good company dont listen to any other drivers if you do there going to tricking you into it is but its not . Ive been here for 3 months and left the company because a bad business its not a really good company at all try to avoid this at all costs believe me Im doing you a favor to all driver . They like to leave pallets behind in a residential area. After calling about this issue they ignored my request to come pick up there trash. I have called 3 times about this and im still waiting on the truck driver to come back to pick up his equipment. He claimed he left it bc my grass was wet and didnt want my package to get wet. That is a joke bc I dont have a lawn since I live in a TownHome and there was no sight of water anywhere. I would trash this pallet my self except my lease policy on tradh is very clear as it states I can NOT throw pallets or furniture away. Come get your Pallet CalArk!!!
