Smart, funny, compassionate, well-read, beautiful, and a great listener. No, Im not talking about a date. Im talking about Katie Salvati. She is, by far, the best doctor Ive ever had. I spent 15 years looking for someone like her. Shes the type of advocate you want on your side when navigating illness. She has repeatedly gone above and beyond in both communication and treatment. During a pandemic, no less!Front office staff has always been kind and helpful. Video appointments were a breeze. Would give 10 stars if I could.

I absolutely love my psychiatrist at Cheney Psychiatric Associates. My psychiatrist Dr. Amy Barker has helped me so much!! Ive been seeing her over a year now. She is such a good listener, she takes you seriously & even though I see her once a month now because she has me on the right meds. Although I dont see her for 1 month she still remembers without looking through my file the things we talked about. She doesnt make me feel like just another patient. I dont feel rushed, like its in & out, where I dont get to talk to her about everything. She listens to every emotion I talk about, makes sure Im on the right medications, so that I can live a happier life that I deserved for so many many years!! So thankful for her & the front desk staff are always so kind & helpful as well. Hope this review helps you decide on where to go & to see. She also works with kids, just to give you extra options. Her office is very comforting, I dont feel like Im in a office, just more of a comfy room with a comfortable couch I can sit on with nice soft blankets because Ive had 10 back surgeries. So she always makes sure Im comfortable sitting before we start my session. Such a wonderful listener & gives great advice. I highly recommend this place!!! Also right outside the door there is a beautiful pond with geese & in the spring time you can sit outside in the beautiful weather & just reflect & meditate. As well as a walking path around the lake!

I have been a patient at Cheney Psychiatric Associates seeing Serena Macauley for medication management since 2018. I have received professional yet very personal compassionate care. Everyone I have met from the person who answers the phone to the person who greets me, to their exceptionally kind caring nurse they have all been knowledgeable, willing to answer questions and professional. I highly recomend Cheney Psych. Asso. to anyone looking for exceptional mental health services.

The front office has impersonal bedside manners. As a new patient, I was willing to cooperate with the lengthy paperwork process. However, the scheduling department hindered my chances of attending my 1st appointment. Now I have to wait 2 more months to receive desperately needed help. Show some compassion!

I hardly ever leave negative reviews but... I have found this place to be unorganized. Something is wrong with their scheduling process. Apparently, we received discharge letter several months ago due to a no-show. I never saw the letter, but dont doubt it. However, the front desk kept on scheduling my appointments anyway. I ended up wasting three weeks trying to schedule an appointment. Im sure its a fine place assuming you can through their front desk.

I Highly recommend trying this office!The providers care! They are compassionate even when politics get in the way they approach it with sincerity.The receptionists are amazing and will even give you directions while on the phone with you! I wish I could leave more stars.Ive moved on from this practice and go elsewhere now, but this is a great place!Keep up the healing, the world needs you!

I have been to many mental health practitioners over the years and will be sticking with Cheney Psychiatric!

I cannot say enough good things about Cheney Psychiatric. I went there from 2017-Feb 2020. I saw Marcia, Kylee, and Heather over the time I was there and felt so heard and taken care of. The front desk staff was always so nice and would work hard to fit me in where needed. If you need to find a therapist or psychiatrist, they have many of each on staff. I wish that I could still go there, but I have moved out of state. Its a really great collective of individuals and I really recommend them.

Dont go hear they will say u kissed an appointment even though you didnt... The psychiatrist I saw only care about puttying me on more and more meds instead of listening to my concerns...

Horrible place. Only care about money & not problems with my teenager. Do not recommend at all!

I waited over a month for my appointment. I was told to stay in my car and call when I get there and they will bring out paperwork for me to fill out.A day before my appointment I received a reminder text from them reminding me that my appointment was for the next day at 10AM.The day of my appointment they called me at 8AM, while I was still sleeping and didnt leave a message. I drove twenty minutes to get there and followed the instructions given to me only to find out that since I didnt answer my phone at 8AM, they had given my appointment to someone else and will now have to wait yet another month to get treated for my depression. All I needed was some help and instead I left feeling worse than I had before. It took me so long to finally reach out and get help, I have no hope for this anymore . You are better off helping yourself rather than coming here.

I waited a month for my new patient appointment. When I made my appointment I told them there was a chance I would be about 10 minutes late because I work in healthcare and sometimes I don’t get to lunch right on time and they said okay. I showed up about 8 minutes late and they told me they had no record that I told them I might be late and they needed to check with the provider if they could see me. I waited in the lobby for about a 10 minutes and then they came and told me I would not be seen and they couldn’t reschedule me because I missed this appointment. So confused. Obviously they don’t actually care about their patients. Where I work we always work with a patient even if they are 5,10, 20 or 30 minutes late. Ridiculous.

***update 10/01/2020***Ive met with providers at Cheney Psychiatric for the last three years off and on and they have always been super great to me. It was a bit bumpy initially when I started going there but I have updated my review to 5 stars and would definitely recommend them to anyone. Thank you!-- --***update 7/25/17***I’ve since had a few appointments here and haven’t had any issues with scheduling or the staff so I am changing my review to three stars. Other than the first impression I’ve had a good experience here so far.——My wife had set up an appointment for me to see someone here today. Show up for my first appointment and I was told by the receptionist that I wasn’t on the schedule. I was able to get an appointment for tomorrow. We’ll see if I’m on the schedule then. I’ll update my review if it gets any better but this was a terrible first impression and I haven’t even seen anyone yet!

By far the most unorganized front desk, and one provider that Im aware of. Every time you have to reschedule they say that you didnt contact them, even though in my experience I called both times, rescheduled when calling to cancel appointment. Also you can leave messages and never get called back. Just very unprofessional, and no customer service skills or communication between front desk and providers. And also provider I seen never seemed to care when explaining the treatments where not working. I would never recommend for anyone struggling w issues that need someone to actually care, and need to feel comfortable with!

I have great success with my provider. Shes been very considerate to my concerns regarding my treatment & has allowed me to play a big roll in my treatment plan. Huge difference with the care I have received here verse other places that dont listen and just shove pills at you.

I have been going to this place for about a year now and it seemed okay until I came for my appointment and they told me I was scheduled! Even though I called several days before and scheduled an appointment in advance. I’m so annoyed I drove 20 min for nothing in the morning!! They need to get their stuff together at the front office because clearly they aren’t doing something right.

I 100% scheduled my appointment for 9AM and was told to be there a half hour early. I had to leave work to do this. So I get to the office and Im waiting for forever and then they tell me my appointment is at 10. Definitely an error on their part. Ill post an updated review after I meet with my provider. So far the first impression is a nice clean office but disorganized when it comes to scheduling.Edit: the appointment went well so i updated the star count

This is the place that I will recommend to all my friends and anyone who needs the services for care, the place for respect, the professionalism is number one here.

Therapist and medication providers know what they are doing and are very helpful. Receptionist were very helpful, friendly and considerate.

Receptionist is very rude and unprofessional. The receptionists behavior and attitude makes you hesitate to deal with anyone else in the clinic. My four year old has better communication skills. Basic customer service training is needed.

Providers are very helpful and attentive. Front office staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

I requested an appointment with Dr. Amy Barker, but was told that even though she was accepting patients and I was in network, no patients would be accepted who have Cigna insurance. I find this incorrigible. How is this my fault? No work-around or solution was suggested. If their priority is not to help patients then what is the point?

The providers are fantastic! The office staff...while nice, have serious issues managging their work. When we first started they overbooked so often we were called before every single appointment to see if we would change days and/or tines until I finally put my foot downWe still have problems trying to get anything done though. Messages go unanswered. I can expect to call a minimum of three times to get refills sent to the pharmacy because our provider never seems to get the message. We are currently at 2 weeks waiting for someone to get back to us regarding my sons meds and he has been completely out for a week. At this point were looking for a new provider.

My experience was terrible!! The receptionist was rude and unprofessional. HUGE Problems with scheduling!! Definitely not worth the time to get to know someone for scheduling errors that will Not reschedule!!

Very unprofessional place!!!!! Waited 15 minutes after my scheduled time and I just walked out! Plus my theapist just walked past me and went to her office and shut the door 😡 NEVER will be back.

Overbooked, thats the only problem i see. Ive waited half an hour to forty-five minutes for an appointment. Is that their fault or a social issue?

Id rather be stuck in traffic.
