DO NOT SIGN UP! I have been at Genesis for 3 years. Most of the “trainers” here are not even certified trainers, and are extremely unprofessional. I have had too many bad experiences here! Also, I never saw this place be cleaned until COVID! And it’s still not clean. To top it off, good luck canceling your membership! I have continued to be charged after my contract was up even after calling, giving a verbal and written/ signed 30 day notice and several emails. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and just out for your money!

Mikael Harrop is awesome! Hell push you to your max in 1on1 training but, keeps it fun. The whole staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are second to none. 10/10 recommend.

While the gym and staff generally have alot to offer Id say overall Ive had a great experience up until recently. Ive been a member for almost two years now and upon experiencing some financial challenges and covid resurgences I would cancel my membership after the contract period. It has been 3-4 months since I cancelled and Im still being charged. Ive been fed nothing but lies from the billing department in terms of my charges and Ive been steady on reaching out.

These guys are awesome. Super laid back staff, and its never packed no matter when I do. Lots of equipment to use whether youre an avid gym goer or just starting to get in to it. Would definitely recommend !

The facilities are well maintained and the staff are awesome! Plenty of equipment to not slow up your workout and also enough space to feel comfortable. Well worth the money if you want a quality facility and experience.

I have always had the best experience at Genesis! The trainers are amazing and truly care about you reaching your goals. Chris checks in with me all the time, and has pushed me to heights I didn’t think I could reach. It is evident that he loves what he does, and his enthusiasm and work ethic motivate me to reach my goals. The gym itself is well-maintained, and there are a lot of options for workout machines and equipment. There are tons of classes to try out, and the endless options make working out exciting.

As a former college athlete, I’m a more experienced lifter and was looking for a place that had a variety of equipment to fit that. This gym is definitely it. The facility is kept clean and they have tons of space and equipment. The staff is polite as well. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the hours. I feel they would benefit if they extended their weekday hours even just one hour to 11 pm. My schedule doesn’t allow me to come when they open and I’ve come right after work to a zoo. I try to come later to beat the rush but even around 8:30-9 it’s a hassle sometimes. Other than that, great gym! I think it’s worth the monthly price.

Ive been working out here for a couple years. Their trainer, Chris Casper is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about his clients. I have been his client for 4 months and when I had to pause personal training for a month, he was still checking in on me; making sure I was on track; and holding me accountable. Highly recommend Chris!

Great place to workout. One problem; the hours. I moved here from NYC and EVERY gym is open 24/7 in NY. I miss being able to go when I get off work (11pm). Other than the hours, it’s great!

Out of all 3 locations I feel this particular one is the most personal for the simple fact you can stand in the middle of the gym and see everyone and everything going on, from classes to friends, to the staff to the daycare...plus if your pants accidentally rip (like mine did) you can just go across the way to gateway mall and replace them :)

I like the layout and the laid back professionalism of this locations team. They are more than willing to help you out when you have a question. They are friendly and helpful in all ways imagined! It sounds from over other comments on other review sites that they had a change in management which I think is what sets them apart from the other locations now! The reviews received in the past are no longer an issue that I have experienced with this location. Definitely recommend using this location if you dont yet!

I had an awesome cycle class at Genesis tonight! Even though there was 14.5 inches of snow, one of their cycle Instructors (Alvin) walked a cool 3 miles to teach his 5:30pm group class!!! You need instructors that show up for YOU because they want to, not because they have to. Thank you for the great cycle workout Alvin!

I started working out at Genesis mid-August. The staff there is great. Theyre friendly and helpful. The place is kept clean, their equipment is well kept and other members are usually very friendly. Dylan in sales is very straightforward about pricing and deals, and so far my personal training sessions with Jack are going great. Best gym Ive been to and definitely the best Ive ever had a membership at.

I love my gym! Chris Casper is the fitness manager and my personal trainer. I worked with him in 2019 before I got married and then after I had my baby in 2020. I’ve crushed my goals with him both times! He really takes the time to get to know you and your goals. He’s strategic in planning workouts customized for you! He’s always encouraging and is a lot of fun! Communication with your trainer is key and Chris is phenomenal when it comes to answering questions and replying back in a timely manner. The other staff members are great and friendly as well! They offer tons of classes too!

I called the O Street location to ask about membership pricing because it is listed NOWHERE on their website. They wouldnt tell me over the phone and told me that in order to get that information I had to physically come into the club. *That is a high-pressure sales tactic.*I then called the 70th & A Street location, which used to be Prairie Life Fitness, unaware that they are now a Genesis club, and guess what?! They told me the prices over the phone!If it werent for the high-pressure sales tactic I would have seriously thought about becoming a member, as the O Street location is the closest location to where I live. Now I wont ever consider a Genesis club membership at ANY Genesis-affiliated club because of this phone call experience. Freakin update your sales procedures already.

Customer service is very poor. Very hard to cancel your membership and will take calling them 10+ times and multiple emails. Fees to cancel are not disclosed and they are very reluctant to refund you for months they forgot to cancel your membership.

I have been a part of this gym for a while now and I love the community feeling you get. Everyone is very personable, and friendly. My favorite part about this gym is that it offers a variety of classes for all types of people to help accomplish different goals. I am not the best at self motivating when it comes to working out, so it is really nice when instructors such as Kelsey, Katie, and Sara are there to push you to become your better self. My go-to classes that I have seen the most results in are All-American Training, cycling classes, and strength and tone! They are definitely worth a try!

This is by far the best gym I have ever been apart of. I’m one of those people that need motivation and need to be told what to do when I step into the gym or I honestly wouldn’t push myself. So immediately I turn to the classes they have scheduled there. Every class is different and you get to choose what level you want to or need to be at. I fell in love with the classes not only because all I had to do was show up and follow what the instructor was doing but also because of the instructors!! You start to form a relationship with them and they become your gym family and help you achieve the goals you are trying to reach. One of the thing that makes this location special is Katie who has been there for me since the beginning of my fitness journey. When you show up to one of her classes you will be surprise on how much you can push yourself. Her motivational pick me ups come at the perfect timing that you actually believe she’s only talking to you. You will never be disappointed going to a class but you’ll always leave satisfied. Glad that you came. If you’re thinking about joining a gym I would consider this gym to be your home away from home.

Genesis Health Clubs are the best gyms in Lincoln. They offer a wide variety of group fitness classes and have the best instructors- shout out to Katie and Kelsey for kicking our butts every Sunday at All American Training! This class is an awesome way to get in, get your workout done, and get out! They are even offering towel services now, which makes it even better! If you havent tried out Genesis, you definitely should.

Beautiful and spacious. The equipment looks brand new and there is ample machines and benches for everyone. The sanitizer bottles are located below the towel dispensers, which is convenient although scarce throughout the gym, but good enough.

Cleanest gym Ive ever seen! Staff are all very friendly and helpful.The more I visit this gym the more impressed I am. Starting an exercise program via Silver Sneakers, I never expected to be given access to the full range of machines and personal training that Ive received.Kudos to Kelsey for her gifted, upbeat approach to helping me work around several medical challenges and still have a great workout!

I had signed a 3 yr contract with Genesis, great facility great assortment of weights and machines. Then I moved out of town. Bad deal for me! Just learned today that they have been charging my card for the last year because I didn’t give a 30 day notice. My contracted term expired last year. 30 day notice for what?!?! Terrible people and terrible business practices!!Edit - I sent an email at around 11:00 AM and no return email or phone call. Not sure but it seems like Genesis isn’t in a big hurry to resolve this issue!!

I love working out here. The classes are fun and challenging, theres plenty of space, and the people and instructors are wonderful to work with. Katie and Sara make you feel extremely welcome in their classes. Both of these fantastic women are energetic, highly encouraging, and a lot of fun to follow in class. They know when to push you, but also when to tell you to take it easy, in order to get the best workout you can for your body. Love my FitFam at Genesis!

Do not share your phone number with them, was called 8 times in a row today. First time I said I was busy and couldnt talk. Fourth time I said you know just put me on the do not call list. And the last time they called the guy who should lose his job was blowing air into the phone.

Genesis gives you a variety of choices for classes with variety of instructors to fit your style. Katie works on bringing in new and different ideas to keep people interested and engaged. She has a great team of instructors who help you connect. There is equipment if youre not into the classes. AAT Express and yoga have been many needed things for me. I appreciate Katie, Kelsey, Jolene, Sara, Alvin and all the other instructors and trainers who get to know you and are always there for you.

Always very clean and sanitized. Impressed with the precautionary measures taken during this unprecedented times, while still keeping enough equipment for everybody! Sometimes hard to get a ahold of staff though.

Cant say enough good things about Genesis. I love the variety of classes and all the instructors are amazing! Genesis Health club is an amazing establishment providing several classes and child care at non extra cost. The all-American Training class has been a life changer for me. With instructors like Kelsey and Katie Bossung I am confident this is just the beginning of a healthy lifestyle.

Awesome gym, came in for a quick workout while out of town. This place has everything, cardio, strength machines (HAMMER!!), CrossFit (with a legit Oly platform), awesome locker oops, showers and sauna, yoga, personal training, you name it! Couldnt ask for more

Untrustworthy and unprofessional. Make sure to watch your bank statement every month. They’ll add additional charges to your account without notifying you. And only until/if you notice, it will take another 3+ months, conversations with 6+ staff/corporate employees, and an unimaginable amount of time and stress to get it rectified.You couldn’t pay me to return.NOT WORTH IT.

I have never been a person to work out, but Katie and Sara hooked me with my first couple of classes. My favorites are Power with Katie, and Fight with Sara. I also enjoy yoga, its a relaxing change of pace. So many options to choose from, for a person like me that would not know what to do without them, and needing motivation to push harder. A must to check out!

Great for what I want. Good equipment with lots of variety, and the group classes are top notch. The fitness instructors are awesome (Go Katie and Kelsey!) and the schedule is convenient. Plenty of machines so never a wait. I didnt think the contract or sales pitch was any different than any other gym. I could probably save $10/month by switching things up, but the gym quality and experience is worth it to me.

Its nice to find a gym that has the all around athlete in mind. Not just cardio and not just weights but the body as a whole. Genesis is clean, spacious and ready to move you. It might cost a little more than the other gyms but the cost is well worth it from the amount of equipment to the instructor lead classes to the well maintained locker rooms. Its a great gym!

I really wanted to love this gym. After calling around to a couple places, talking about what we wanted out of a gym, and getting price quotes, I had my heart set on this place. I stopped by to take a tour and sign up, thinking it would only take a couple minutes. I honestly just wanted them to tell me how much it would cost. Brad quoted me $65 a month on the phone. After stopping in, I was quoted $85 if I signed up for auto pay and a year contract. Not cool. I still started to go through with it. My zero down was actually $35. And they had no idea how much the yearly fee was, nor when they were going to charge me for it. The real kicker was the only $150 cancellation fee if you stuck out half the life of your contract. I still probably would have signed up here if they had been honest and upfront about the costs. I had to ask specifically about every single extra fee and I still couldnt get a straight answer. I just wanted a piece of paper stating what I would be charged and when, no way Im signing a contract without that. As long as management is the same, I would highly recommend avoiding this place.

I was this place because on that website announces a free pass for seven days to know the place, the place has the necessary equipment and implements to train very well, unfortunately the front desk seems to not care who enters or has questions about the place ( really bad customer service), on the other hand the membership vendor seemed more concerned about having an insured, very harassing charge, he only cared about talking about prices, his sales strategies are focused on making collections no matter what the customer needs to know or think, DEFINITELY DO NOT ENTER THIS PLACE, CLEARLY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY WITH PAYMENTS AND PLANS NOT VERY CLEAR, THE MANAGEMENT SHOULD BE MORE AWARE OF THE NEEDS OF THE CLIENTS BEFORE WANTING TO ATTRACT YOU WITH A MONTHLY CHARGE TO YOUR CARD.SEEK OTHER ALTERNATIVES where you are valued as a customer and not as an ATM.

I have noticed a real change in the gym as far as classes and personal training go. While I dont take advantage of either as I have my own workout regimen, it has been a pleasure to see the new personal training staff and how personal they are with their clients. I have been to gyms where personal trainers are on their phones while their client is performing an exercise and I have not seen anything like that at Genesis. All of the personal trainers are involved and hands on with their clients which has been awesome to see. I also love the variety of classes offered and integrating the community and non-profits into the classes. Bottom line is that Genesis has really made a turn around and Im proud to be a part of the gym.

I see that Im not the first one to complain about the guy promising a lower price than what they actually charge you and then they cant come up with the paperwork to prove it. All they do is show you your initials that its okay to authorize to debit out of your account and somehow the actual paperwork you signed with the price he writes on it they say they sent to corporate, and never promised you that low price. B.S. Avoid this place at all costs and do not listen to this guy. Im glad to see someone else has commented about this because its true. Stay away! Scammer! I also see the other people have been quoted that their cancellation fee is either free or lower price and then told 200. This guy needs to be fired and not only that seeing that there are more than one of us on here being quoted a cheaper price and getting charged way more and lied about cancellation fee we should get a class action suit together.

Claim to have a 7 day free trial, but thats only after you sign up. The person I met with in the sales room made me more uncomfortable than when I was buying my car. They really try to push you into signing I expressed that I did not have much money at the time of our meeting and they asked me how much money do you have word for word. I feel like maybe I would have signed up if I had a different sales person. But the person who helped me asked me some things that were none of their business which really just turned me off from wanting sign any contract. I feel like this could be a good gym for people who are well established in an area with a gym location but for someone who may be moving around a lot only getting a deal on a 30 month contract with a high cancelation fee, this would not be the gym for you. The lowest contract offered seems to be 12 months.They do seem to have good amenities and classes (just from what I saw on the fast tour) and they will help you with plans to reach your goals. But I could not willingly give money to a place that just focuses so much on selling memberships. I would rather pay a little more for a gym where I felt like a person to them, not just a monthly check.

I love the group classes, All American Training, Power, and HIIT are my favorites! Katie, one of the instructors is passionate about teaching and my personal progress. Edit: canceled my membership because they started charging $40 extra a month for my favorite class.

Very clean, equipment always works well, or is fixed promptly. Really great locker rooms with private showers; dry sauna is especially clean and relaxing after a workout. Staff at this location are very friendly and happy to help out. As a former retail building, it lacks windows -- I prefer the Pine Lake location for its abundant natural light, but both are good gyms!

Decent gym for the price I pay. I don’t ask for much and they don’t give much. It’s open when I want. They have what I want. The locker room is usually smelly. I’ve asked about it to no avail so whatever there. Staff turns over a lot but I don’t rely on them for anything so whatever there. It would be nice to be a bit more appreciated upon check in and once inside from staff but whatever. The front desk has gotten better with the addition of some new faces. They seem to get it. It is not always the cleanest but I see them trying to take care of that. It’s not a dump but it could be better. Again.. I like it for the price. If I was paying more than I would require more. I do fee the trainers are kind of a cash grab. I see them doing the exact same things for all different types of people. That doesn’t really sell their product when you are on the outside looking in. Looks staged like a wedding DJ playing the same songs regardless of the event style.

Classes are the bomb! Sara teaches intense and awesome strength and tone class. Kelsey is always so full of energy, I love taking All American Training with her. If you need some motivation take any class with Katie. I also love that if I cant make a class I have access to tons of treadmills and weights. Its perfect!

I wish I never signed up with them!! I signed up with a short Asian guy works there and asked him more than three times to give me the exact membership price but still lied to us and told us a cheaper price than the actual monthly charge! I really wish he get fired from that place!!

Felix was the person that gave us the tour and helped us sign up for our membership. He was very helpful and personable. He really made us feel like we were making the right choice in gyms to help us reach our fitness goals! We have taken a few different classes in the last month and each one has been challenging and fun. The staff is friendly and helpful as well!
