We have been so impressed with the swim program at Genesis. My oldest has been doing swim conditioning for almost two years and competed in swim team this summer. My youngest has moved from private lessons to swim conditioning. The teachers and coaches truly love what they do and the kids. Julie, Jeff, Sue and the team are incredible! A great place to start your littlest with water exposure and safety and continue on with a fantastic sport with great kids and coaches.

We love Genesis Health Clubs Mighty Camp! They are an excellent resource for families needing summer programing. Our kiddo was excited to go each day because he knew the staff cared about him and greeted him by name each morning. The staff at Mighty Camp is professional and patient. They strive to make each day a memorable experience as they teach sports as well as develop character building and life skills. The daily swim time in the pool was a highlight and the fact that our kiddo came home each day exhausted from being active was a huge plus! Our kiddo can be quite a handful, but the staff at Mighty Camp partnered with us and we cant say enough good things about Mighty Camp!

Disappointed with pool management. I spoke with a manager last week about constantly getting kicked out of lanes due to reservations and asked why there isn’t a first come first served lane for people with unpredictable schedules. She shrugged her shoulders and offered for me to schedule in advance. It’s extremely difficult to try and get even a short swim in without being interrupted — and it’s been mornings, afternoons, and early evenings. Today, I had Lane 1 reserved and someone was swimming in it when I got poolside so I hopped into lane 2 (which was reserved by someone else), which had nobody in it. Halfway through my swim, the person in lane 3 was kicked out of their lane and came into lane 2 which forced me to kick the person in Lane 1 out of lane 1. Eventually I was lane splitting in Lane 1, the person in lane 2 was lane splitting, and lane 3 had a single swimmer . What a mess. Frustrating to say the least. Other than that, happy camper.I’ve never posted a negative review before but I spoke with a manager and she shrugged off my disappointment and suggestion to have one or two lanes be first come first served. I’d rather they just fix the issue than end my membership because I’m satisfied other than this.

Highly recommend Genesis for their youth camps & a great family-friendly place to work out, swim, etc. The youth director, Barb, is fantastic! She is passionate about making the camp a safe & fun experience for the kids. My son loved going there this summer. The pools are also a bit hit! All of the staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely the best in Lincoln! :)

My son is 6 years old and went to summer camp at Genesis East. He enjoyed every minute of it. The staff was professional and always happy to see him. The camp included daily swimming, outdoor play and field trips. Due to weather or extreme heat some of the field trip locations had to be altered. However, leadership always communicated with the parents via email and in advance. He was able to build relationships with the camp attendees and staff. Even though camp is over for the summer, when we go to work out everyone addresses him by name... This shows that they take an interest in the children and make it special for each child there. Cant wait for no school camp!

My son goes to the Mighty Kids Camp at this location. We absolutely love the staff. Miss Barb & her team are amazing. I would highly recommend this program. I love that my son is being active and having fun during the summer. The counselors and staff are always happy and engaging and genuinely care for all the campers. We also take advantage of the No School Programs that they offer during the year. Definitely check them out! Weve met lots of new friends thru this camp & look forward to coming back again!

I absolutely LOVE this gym!! I always worked out at home and didn’t think going to a gym was “for me” but I was wrong. Their group fitness classes are AMAZING! The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They are open and accepting of everyone and always make sure to include you regardless of your fitness level. I highly recommend Genesis East!

Wanted to drop a note about the Mighty Camp. The person incharge, Barb, and the other camp leaders are amazing! Besides my kid having an amazing summer, working off steam and working on skills, he can go on no school days! The communication with emails are very help in knowing what is going on and open availability for kids to attending!

Water aerobics classes rock! Instructors are able to mix all levels of ability in the same class. You are able to get both cardio and stretching to meet your needs. Enough classes offered to meet most scheduling needs.

The aquatics staff and programming at both Genesis East Lincoln and Lincoln Racquet Club locations are fantastic! Our kids have grown a ton in both skill and confidence in the water thanks to people like Julie and Sue, who have dedicated themselves to creating new generations of lifelong swimmers. All the instructors are patient and kind, and find ways to encourage learners to push themselves, always knowing that someone is right there if they run into trouble.This summer, they participated in the Lincoln summer swim league, and the experience helped our kids see swimming both as a sport and a social activity. I’m excited to see how they put this skill to use as they grow!I’m thankful that Genesis supports these programs, and recommend them without hesitation to everyone looking for a safe way to build competence in the water.

Good equipment and love the facility. Has steam room and dry sauna as well as nice showers. Personal trainers are very knowledgeable. I could spend most of my day there between the pool, gym, hot tubs and bar to get food and shakes.

I would like to commend the fitness classes at the East Lincoln Genesis Club.. The instructors are very knowledgeable, high energy and patient.. They always remember to offer alternatives for those who are modifying their workout. I feel fantastic for the rest of the day after taking a fitness class at Genesis. Thank you and please keep offering the classes. They are a bright spot in my day!

The gym and facilities are great here, but the classes are the real selling point! I was nervous to try group classes, but so glad that I did. The yoga classes are great, but the water aerobics class is my favorite (shout out instructor Vanessa!), even as a person in their 20s. The instructors cultivate great community and camaraderie in their class, making each person feel welcome and at home. I look forward to class each week.

I love the Mat Pilates and Barre/Pilates classes at Genesis East Lincoln and instructor Vanessa D is wonderful! Vanessa is welcoming to all, positive and motivating. In her classes we work hard but have fun too!

Barb and Lydia did a great job accommodating our last-minute request for our daughters birthday party. This is our second time having her birthday party at Genesis, and again they did a fantastic job. They did an excellent job hosting the inflatables party, and the kiddos had fun! Thank you!

The best part of my day is coming to this gym and being greeted by the friendly staff! All the members are friendly and always willing to help with whatever I need. If it wasn’t for the hot tub and sauna I don’t think I’d make it through the winters here. Thanks for everything you guys provide!

We ADORE Julie! She has been amazing with private lessons with our daughter for a little over a year now. The skills she’s learned is mind blowing!!! Julie has worked with our crazy schedules and been so comforting when we have questions! We are so grateful for giving Julie and her giving us a peace of mind when it comes to water safety and our child!

My daughter has been going to Mighty Camp since 2019. I love the flexibility in the schedule and options. You only have to give a 2 week notice for any changes and you get a full refund! Barb is a great leader and is so understanding as dealing with all the covid changes, regulations, and not to mention dealing with the craziness of the raquet club location remodeling. The east location is not ideal for my family but I am sticking with it as I know it will soon transition back and it is a great camp that my daughter enjoys every day, including swimming everyday and weekly field trips.

The staff members here are always so willing to help you when you need help. I think its cool that there is classes that are offer for free. Great place to be a member of!

My girls went to this Summer Camp this year for the first time. I definitely dont recommend this place. The director of the camp Barb is the worst director that Ive ever had in my entire life and we have been in summer camps every year everywhere in Lincoln. She is very unprofessional, doesnt communicate with parents, looks like doesnt even care about the kids and the worst..accusing parents of harassment. She changed the location a week prior the camp. So I had to adjust our schedule in the last minute when I paid in full all the way in February. Think twice before scheduling summer camp at Genesis.

We love this gym and most importantly, the people that work there! Great service and amenities, and we love the pool. The swimming lessons are top notch. Highly recommend this gym and their services!

Great machines, clean equipment. Great place for really everything.

I use the indoor pool 6 days a week from 3-4 in lane 1 to walk as fast as I can walk. As a result, I see the happenings in the indoor pool, on which I base my comments/star level.ISSUES:1. Lifeguards. With the exception of 1 or 2, there were numerous issues, none of them positive, i.e., underage kids in the pool and hot tub w/o parental/adult supervision, leading to members having to contact a lifeguard to remove the kids from the pool or hot tub. Usually, the same kids come back and do it all over again, either during the next break or before. I tell the lifeguard and they just say they will watch out for it. I ask them why this continues day after day and they say they will watch for it. Nothing ever happens. I and other members do not feel like we need to be having to handle these problems. We pay to use the facility and not supervise a childcare. I can go on and on, but, hopefully you understand what I am saying. I feel the problem lies with Management. If Management would ever like to discuss, I would certainly appreciate doing so.POSITIVES:Julie and Sue, do a great job, they are hard workers, self motivated, good with kids and I think they try hard to work with the parents on the rules that Genesis emailed a number of weeks ago. I see one or both of them nearly every day I am here. I am being honest when I say I think the problems lie with Management, as there needs to be consequences for the kids/PARENTS, when they choose time and time again to not follow the rules. Parents need to parent or suffer the consequences, in order to make Genesis an enjoyable experience for everyone.Also, the lane reservations for the indoor pool are very much appreciated by many of us who take advantage is using them. I have spoken to many members who very much appreciate this policy.The water temperature is normally very comfortable, which is also very much appreciated.I would rate my experiences a 3, however, would be much higher without the ISSUES, noted above. Hopefully those can be corrected and I can give a higher rating. Just being honest with you.Thank you.Greg Schnasse

I feel we offer alot of equipment for the members to use. This gym always feels homey. It is great to see the old time members work out plus socialize with each other.

Ive had a great experience with them so far. The staff is so friendly, and the facility is clean and appealing. I also love the classes Ive been to!

On Swimming at Genesis 70th St.: I was a member of Genesis for about 3 years but joined a community center near me during COVID and cancelled my Genesis membership. I have been using free passes to swim in the indoor pool at Genesis on 70th while visiting Lincoln recently. Thats been great but I have to say I would never rejoin if my goal was to swim at this club. In fact, Ive started paying $8.50 to use the Union College pool twice a week. The Genesis pool itself is fine--reasonably clean. But Genesis does not have any lap times or adult swim, so its a total gamble. Half the time, despite big, sparkling outdoor pool, all the lap lanes of the indoor pool have random children in them doing random children things. There are 4 lanes in the indoor pool and a semi-deep section, part of which could serve as a lane as well. There might be one child splashing aimlessly in Lane 1, two children jumping off the side onto each other in Lane 2, a child hanging on the side of Lane 3 blubbering, and a child throwing a ball to someone at the edge of the pool in Lane 4. Most of the children are apparently unaccompanied, their parents no doubt enjoying the child-free lifting area or asleep next to the pool outside. This seems both unsafe and poorly designed to attract people who actually want to use the swim lanes to exercise. So, while I genuinely appreciate the free visitors passes and have been pretty lucky myself about getting a lane, I am not in any way tempted to re-up my membership. And I feel terrible for my partner who has not been so lucky and has twice come home recently all distressed because kids were taking up all the lap lanes and he had to leave without swimming at all.

I’m reviewing as a Genesis member so I can’t attest to how the place was prior, but if you’re more of a lifter then you’d probably benefit from going to the other Lincoln locations. I do enjoy the track, pool, and hot tub and they’ve got a nice basketball court. The facility is definitely outdated but they work well with what they have.

Clean, safe place to work out. Plenty of variety in weight machines and aerobic machines. Indoor and outdoor pool. Lots of choices to take classes with an instructor. Racquetball courts and gym to play basketball. All is included free with your membership. Love it!

I LOVE coming to Genesis. We typically go to East and 56th and we love them both. Amazing facility and staff!!

Lots of equipment for whatever type of workout you want to do. Also they have different facilities you can use with your gym membership(pool, tennis court, sauna, basketball court, etc.). Only downside is that the inside needs a face lift but if that doesnt matter to you its a great place to workout.

One of the cleanest and well maintained Gyms in town. Give it a shot. You wont regret:)

There has been zero enforcement of the mask mandate. There are signs but staff never say anything to people who come into the club without masks. The woman who does the food service just wears a shield!Also, the pool is murky and dirty. I swim often and at different times during the day, I have never seen anyone clean or test the water. The bottom of the pool is full of grit. Today there was actual chunks of mud on the deck.

Our family are charter members of this faculty built in mid-80 s ... Building and facilities are in excellent condition.

What I like about this specific location is that they have ice lol something simple but not often readily available...the pools and basketball court are a definite fan favorite, and of course the staff is what keeps ya coming back

Had to change this to 1 star after being purchased by Genesis. Prairie life was awesome! Genesis is a corporation. With that, customer service is now treated corporately. If you have a complaint, you will be given the runaround. You need to call corporate membership for that. Then after calling them, the response is You need to discuss that with your local gym. After being a loyal customer to a local gym for 8 years, this is no longer what we signed up for. We canceled.

Stopped in for a workout, Im from KC and I cant complain. Its an old Athletic Club, so itll probably get updated. Theres some old equipment but its not bad. Ill stop by again when Im in town. Id recommend seeing the place if youre into fitness.

Seems like a lot of wasted spaces in the gym. Mainly referring to how it seems there’s a variety of different cycling, training, and yoga studios, racquet ball courts virtually empty all the time yet they choose to have classes of people on yoga matt’s doing crunches in one corner of the basketball court and kick everyone off the court for that? Not a very efficient use of space and takes away from other paying members abilities to use the court when I know for certain that there are a lot of empty spaces not being used for some reason.

Checked it out today. Very clean, nice amenities. Now to step out of my comfort zone

Facility and staff are great. The locker rooms are really nice as well. Really only went there to swim laps so I cant speak for the gym equipment. Had to cancel membership because it was too high for me to only be using the pool. Wish they had a way to offer a cheaper price for pool users.

Decent gym but over priced and unfair business practices. Prairie Life was taken over by the Athletic Club a few months ago. The new club has a basic and premium memberships. With this new company I was placed in the basic level, but being charged 8$ a month more than what a new member would pay for the same access. I was told I cant change until my contract is up. I will be switching gyms as soon as the contract expires.

Communication sucks, really good people at the gym and friendly, thou they cant be straight with you. I wouldnt of giving this gym such a low rating if they would of just told me what need to be said and wouldnt of given me the run around.

Im so happy to have found Prairie Life. Friendly, helpful, no pressure staff. Outdoor pools stay filled past public and neighborhood private pools. Open late. They treat me and my daughter well. Great group classes. Easy to enroll in swimming for my daughter. We can both use the hot tub. Ample showers, towels, parking. Self serve ice water station. Always 3 or more dedicated lap lanes outside. Relaxed atmosphere.

This is my favorite gym I have ever belonged to! Even when its busy its not. Child care included with membership, swim lessons and tanning.The cafe has great options for lunch or snack. Staff is kind and helpful!

I very much enjoy working out here. I was a member of the Y for 6 months last year, and the primary reason I changed was the lack of amenities at any given location. For instance, the steam room, sauna and Whirlpool all available at Prairie Life are spread over multiple locations of the Y.Ive been a member since May of this year, and went so far as to pay for a private coach to develop a workout plan for me. I have scoliosis and was rehabbing both shoulders (its silly how it happened, dont ask) so I didnt want to just go in and hope I was doing everything right.The coach took me through the use of all of the machines, but focused on the ones that she thought would be best for rehab and my goal, which was building strength and stamina, not bulk, and came up with 16 exercises covering the full body.I rarely have to wait for a machine when Im working out in the evenings (past 7:00 p.m.) Saturday afternoons are a little bit busier as one would expect. Still, everyone is polite and there are many people who are becoming my friends through our shared workout times.Although Prairie Life was recently bought out, the new Athletic Club ads in the place promise only more and better things for the members. I look forward to any improvements even as I continue to enjoy a solid place for my workout needs.

Love taking the family to Prairie Life. Keep the little one occupied at the indoor or outdoor pools w lifegaurds.Great trainers and workout equipment, indoor track. I really enjoy the hot tub, sauna, and/Or steam room after a workout depending on my mood. Dont need to being your own towel as they provide as many as needed!

Large facility with perks not found at many local gyms like: towel service, tanning, massage, hydrotherapy tub, sauna, steam room, outdoor pool (including two for children), snack bar and tennis courts. Plenty of cardio machines and a good range of equipment in the weight room including a lifting platform with rubber plates. Even at busy times of day I never have to wait long for one of the three squat racks. So far my favorite of the several local gyms Ive had memberships with.

If you ever plan to bring guests, get a different gym! Awful guest policy! It’s a decent gym outside of that.

I went to the gym for a 1 month and I told them I am going to stop going there but they paid for tow months and they were disrespectful and I dont think anybody should go there.

Great place for families. The staff in the childcare area are great with the kids. Swim lessons gymnastics dance and other classes all available for kids. The facility and bathrooms are always clean. Free WiFi though the speed can be a little spotty during busy hours.

Beautiful facility with many things to offer such as indoor/outdoor pool, spin classes, pilates & yoga, weight training equipment, and much more. Membership is a bit pricey but you get a lot for your money if you are interested in a variety of exercise options. Staff is very friendly and courteous.

This is an awesome full service gym. Great classes with great instructors. The trainers care about your success and the staff is super friendly. They are making some updates and they take your comments & suggestions seriously.

Its a very good training center. Chelsea is an amazing zumba class teacher. They have a bunch of workout exercises. The teachers are good professionals and it a good place to make new friends.

Was un satisfied with the facility, I thought they had refunded my $870. It turns out they did not and now they are pursuing a collection agency for more money. A Manager is never available to speak to and there customer service is very poor. They have no value for your time. They do not deserve 1 star.

How many times do I need to suggest that the staff simply offer a greeting to patrons coming in and leaving the facility? Its. not a special place in any way, so customer service becomes the opportunity to make the dues a worthwhile investment. But even the GM just gives you a stare when you come and go. Who the hell do you think you are?

I love Prairie Life. Due to our work schedules, my husband and I usually end up going between 10pm and midnight. Its so great to have the option of going to a gym this size with this many different amenities later in the evening. Plus, at this time of night, there are very few people there, and it feels like we have the whole gym to ourself! And that doesnt negatively effect the customer service in any way. Everyone weve come in contact with is great--they recognize and greet us every time we come in. Decently priced for everything included.Anyone who is searching for a gym, I would recommend stopping by and asking for the free 5 day pass to try it out. Im sure youll love PLF as much as we do!

I love everything Prairie Life has to offer. The fitness center itself has not only many machines to choose from, but lots of different free weight equipment to work with! Many kettlebells, Dumbbells, plyo boxes, and even a platform with bumper plates. There equipment isnt crammed in and there is plenty of space. The youth program offers many different activities and keeps kids active & educated in a safe, social environment. Also, the aquatic options stand out - 3 different pools, plus a little kids pool. No matter what you are looking for, Im sure Prairie Life has got it!

I joined PLF in February and started with the RESOLUTION class. What an amazing class and great way to get right into working out!I have been working with Justin Wittler for Personal Training and in the current 4 week group class. He is very good at his job. It is evident he takes the time to make that class very efficient for the time we are there. Every muscle is worked and challenged and he is very attentive to all in the class. Justin always has a great class ready for us at 530 am Mondays and Wednesdays!!Patty at the front desk is always greeting us with a smile at that early morning time!!Angie Root

I would give this gym zero stars if I could. I am here for a short time and inquired about a short-term membership. The person on the phone did not give me any pricing information until I got there to find out that they charge a ridiculous $99 for one month. This is not lifetime fitness folks.so instead of offering to let me work out there one day, the staff member sent me on my way. Will never ever go to this location again.

The facility is good but if you like basketball you are out of luck because there is one small court and it is rare i have a chance to use it without being kicked out for some dumb class they have going on in the gym
