Have just had house clearance service (with suitable items going to auction, remainder to charity shops or disposal). I cannot recommend more highly. Grotty job, lets face it, but Terrys 3 chaps are a credit to both him and his company. They worked hard, and were polite, pleasant, obliging and very thorough throughout. Also recommend Daryl who came for initial assessment and then liaised with me. An excellent job at a fair price.

Very unhappy, frustrated and disappointed. We were planning to use Unique to sell several pieces of high quality furniture and decided (fortunately) to try their service with some lower value items first. What a disaster!Our “No Reserve” instructions were ignored, so although bids were received for all our lots, some were randomly rejected and no one told us. The resulting “unsold” items were left in limbo somewhere in their warehouse - again no one contacted us.We waited 5 weeks for any payment to come through, but nothing happened, so we phoned to chase. It took 2 days and 3 calls to establish what had happened and to prompt our payment. Considering the fees charged, we feel this level of service is practically daylight robbery!Needless to say, we have had a lucky escape and will be using another local Auction House next time.

I cant praise them highly enough. They were quick snd punctual and even hoovered and cleaned the floors etc afterwards, which we certainly didnt expect. Would certainly recommend them.

Absolutely love this auction house. I have been buying for many years from an assortment of various auction houses from the Midlands to North Yorkshire but this is by far my favourite.So many different items in every sale something for everyone . Staff have always been nothing but polite , friendly and helpful to me.Well worth a visit even if you are on a low budget as plenty of low price items as well as high price items.After reading some of the other reviews about it being cold i have to say most auction houses are warehouse type building and Ive been in a lot colder just put a cost on 😀

Excellent auction house, always full of interesting items. Porters very friendly and far more helpful than any other auction house Ive been to. The staff do try their best to help out. However, there are a few things to be wary -1) Heating is very poor. They have been in their new premises for over a year. You need to have your winter wear on INSIDE. I am surprised the Health and Safety Executive have not become involved.2) The online photographs are usually quite poor. However, if you ask for additional photographs they are usually very good. Why they cannot do it first time round Ive no idea.3) Descriptions can vary from being very helpful to useless.4) Take everything the owner says with a pinch of salt. Although enthusiastic, he is chaotic. Dates keep changing on a whim, collections he says are coming in are actually smaller or do not appear, and it is almost impossible to pin him down on anything.5) If you are buying or selling, it is probably best avoiding talking to the owner, as he does like the sound of his own voice.6) Whilst the cafe seems fine, there is no food hygiene rating.

I have been buying and selling at this well established auction house for over ten years now and I can honestly say that I have always received top notch assistance and advice.The auctioneers always endeavour to achieve the best price for the items I put up for sale, and the valuers, clerical staff and porters are invariably helpful and willing to go the extra mile when called upon.Based on my experience over the years, I would not hesitate to recommend using the services of Unique Auctions both for buying and selling.

We have used this Auction house for both buying and selling antiques and collectibles for over three years with very satisfactory,fair and consistent results. Worst experience I ever had with this auction.Usually a day before auction punters bid on lots, change their biddings and even cancel a bid.With this auction a day before bidding I tried to change or cancel some of the biddings, but the website didn’t allow me. I ended up paying £500 to lots which were worth less than £150 and I will be stuck with them for a long time.Trying to explain the Auctioneers, I only had threats and ultimatums from them.Very bad and sad experience ever had.

We have been dealing with Unique for a number of years now and can say this is the friendliest and most approachable Auction House we deal with. Always someone at hand when we call unlike some other Auction Houses. Excellent parking , easy to get to , and a good cafe on sale day.

As an antiques dealer I really enjoy buying at this auction house!The staff are always welcoming, helpful, hard working and very professional and the auctions are pure entertainment. There is an endless variety of auction lots and loads of choice for everyone.I recommend Unique Auctions to sellers and buyers alike.

Avoid.I have been dealing with this company for a few months.The staff are dishonest and say they will do things that just don’t get done, I had to chase up on many occasions. I have wasted months of my time, they have cost me the run up to Christmas to sell my items else where.It was stated by a member of staff they didn’t want to hold my items in case they broke them, that to me speaks volumes, what auction house worries about breaking items, they deal with rare unique items on a daily basis.I would be surprised if management do not respond to this feed back claiming I am a disgruntled customer.I can assure people this is not the case. I had to drive from London to complain and then had to deal with an abusive cafe worker.The police were called however their time had been wasted for this they should be fined.Take some honest advice and go elsewhere.There are a few poor reviews on here, we can’t all be wrong. However the owner will try to justify poor reviews to protect his company.

I can only speak as I find. 1) It is NOT cold in the auction room and I suggest that if you find that it is, put on a coat! 2) ALL of the staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them.The auction items are varied and interesting. I will certainly be using them again.

Buyers and sellers be warned; the later as you may well not be getting anywhere near what you should do if you sell via Unique Auctions.Have been buying from Unique Auctions for over 3 years. Emailed them a bid rather than asked for a phone bid or bid online as I was travelling. Got an email from them just before the auction demanding my card details. Hey, I have been buying from you for years and am already registered to bid online. 1) I was not near the card I use for auctions. 2) Why on earth would they want this now? Got an abrupt phone call from Tracy saying they had no record of me, that my registration to bid online (which you have to provide card details for) did not count, and that I had to send my card details for my bid to be registered. So, I managed to send them this well before the auction started and with our first ever emails together containing their first invoice to me in 2014, etc. proving I was a long standing customer.Clearly, the fact they were proven wrong pd them off as they did not register my bid. What pathetic juvenile behaviour; my bid was nearly double what they had already (the current bid is displayed on the online bidding screen).Or, even worse, Unique Auctions blocked my bid in order to award it to a preferred bidder, apparently a buddy of theirs.Be warned. Went from good to rude and awful. Maybe outright dishonest.Response to Uniques reply belowWhat a load of BS. It was me that informed you of the changes of addresses, but your really, very rude / gruff admin lady did not give a damn. As for calling me to apologize, what a joke. You called a few times to be nothing but rude and to lecture me, so I blocked your calls thereafter AS I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY FAMILY IN MY CAR and did not want Mrs. Angry to spout off at me yet again in front of them. I was not in front of my PC so I could and did not bid live; I see other reviews saying you are not to be believed. I have been contacting this place for 3 weeks now to try and put some of my items into the upcoming auctions.Every time I speak to someone I am told that the auction is now full so I ask about the next one, they say to call on this date and I will be able to list my items. I call and it’s too late and the auction is full. That’s 3 times now. Waste of time.

I go in there to get a chair and I wandered to the cafe. Took a bite out a muffin and I feel like my internals are falling out of my bottom and I will never be going back there again. I even saw a chair that was just a box with wooden planks for legs

Avoid purchasing anything from this Company !!!!Disgusting proprietor !Sent me an Item which got broken after the sale.Go to other auction houses,where they give you better service and dont deceive you !and point blank say we dont do partial refunds,refuse to arrange repair of fragile victorian item,Demand is to be sent back and only option is full refund,which was not what I had asked for.Ultimately he kept the full amount for selling me an item which was not as described.

I used to love popping down on the weekend but now they have moved the general auction to a Friday! Popped in today on lunch break and the new auctioneer is very slow. Why not have general auction on different weekend rather then friday? Or open 2 rooms each weekend with 2 auctioneers? I have been to many auctions and the most successful ones have 3/4 auctioneers at same time in seperate rooms. This auction has lovely staff and is well organised but just seems a bit crazy to keep splitting auctions between days rather then getting it all done in 1 day! Why not have alternate auctions every 2 weeks or every week? Plus I would of put this in email but cant find email address anywhere.

Telephoned for a condition report on two vases, and was assured that they were not damaged or restored.Based on this I undertook a 180 mile round trip, only to find that both had been (poorly) restored!NOT recommended!

Absolutely shocking customer service lost several of my partners items we gave them to sell sold other items for under the reserve and binned items without permission. Also after well over a month have still not been paid for sold items, and they are ignoring us. Now with a solicitor and reported to trading standards. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

Showed to be untrustworthy from start to finish. Beware if you wish to sell from this site.
