Jim Hunter with armor contracting has been working on my house for many different projects. He is very reliable and fair. I would recommend him and I plan on using him for years to come.
Beware of Armor Contracting, LLC for roof repairs! This morning at around 7AM, roofers from Armor Contracting showed up to our house without invitation or announcement, climbed on our roof, and began to tear the shingles off. We quickly discovered that a neighbor on a similarly named street nearby was expecting these roofers, who showed up to the wrong address and began to remove our roof instead. Before we were able to stop these actions, over $1,500 of damage was caused (as later determined by an estimate given by another company we work with). The workers left for the correct location, but left their dumpster in our driveway, nails on our driveway, and a mess on our roof. They said they would return with shingles and repair the damage. They came back around 9AM and simply threw some tarps over the damaged areas, not even sufficiently nailing them down along one area. Our roofer told us wood was exposed to the elements, and two holes were left behind from missing vents. We contacted the owner of this company, named Jim. Jim admitted fault but refused to compensate us for the damages. He eventually offered to have his team replace the shingles, which I refused, because clearly we do not trust his company to do honest work. I sent him a written estimate by email at his request. He did not respond. He stopped taking my phone calls altogether, after I basically spent an entire day missing work to chase him down over this situation. There is a lot more to this story regarding how Jim spoke to my husband and I in disrespectful ways, but to sum it up I wanted to alert my neighbors to the dishonest, negligent manner that this man runs his business.
Had my roof shingled, a metal roof put on a shed, and the siding on a two story chimney painted. The crew worked fast and the results exceeded my expectations. I would recommend these guys to anybody.
We paid this company $400 to remove and replace screens at our house; however, they kept putting us off, then they never completed the work. I contacted them numerous times. Sure, I screwed up by trusting this company and paying them upfront. But lesson learned with them. They simply never came back out. Do not use this company.
I have had the pleasure of working with Jim Hunter at Amor Contracting on 3 occasions now – and all have had outstanding results. Our last project was the addition of a large covered patio attached to our 1950s ranch home. Jim was accurate in his initial assessment of the scale and cost of our project, as well as when we decided to deviate from our original plans. He was able to guide us with quality & cost efficient solutions, where needed. His team is professional, well experienced & friendly. The team kept the worksite tidy at the end of each day, so that our dog could still use the back yard when they had gone for the day, without us having to overly worry about her getting injured. Our job was done with great care and finished on time & on budget. Jim defiantly exceeded our expectations with the final results. Anyone would be hard pressed to tell the addition from the original house – and neighbors are impressed ;)
