We have been bringing our cars to Hummel for many years. They are accommodating, honest and professional. Stu is all about the service and his advice is straightforward and dependable. My 1998 Mazda Protege was recently in for a maintenance and safety check after a long period of neglect. There was a good bit of work to be done, as it turned out, which was not unexpected; Stu clearly explained each element that needed addressing and we decided together what work to pursue. We like to keep our cars as long as possible and I feel confident driving it again. Stu had me bring it back to double check the work that was done a few weeks later and the crew cleaned it thoroughly inside and out at that time, which was a delightful surprise and well beyond my expectations. :)

Hummels B&B is fantastic! A friend recommended the shop to me a few months ago when I had some car trouble. It turned out to be my transmission. My car was in the shop for a couple of weeks which was very stressful, but Stew texted updates and called me so I was aware of everything going on which was amazing. Stew was also straight forward about cost and what exactly the problem was. He clearly laid out all of my possible options before moving forward with the repairs. After my second time visiting Hummels I wouldnt take my car anywhere else. As a young female I tend to be apprehensive about bringing my car in for a problem, however Stu makes the experience extremely comfortable and is transparent and honest. I purchased a car I got way under Kelly Blue Book value because it was in a front end collision and had major damage... they did amazing work literally rebuilt the front of the vehicle and replaced the breaks (rebuilt the calipers new rotors) amazing quality work with unbeatable labor cost and they truly treat their customers phenomenally!

My experience here started off on a bad note when I dropped off my car for an oil change. The worker at the front desk was very snouty and didn’t provide the customer service I was expecting. The owner, Stu, overheard part of the conversation and chimed in a bit. A couple hours later Stu gave me a call to apologize and explain in detail what I was discussing with the front desk. I really appreciated that. He also called me to let me know my car was ready earlier than the pick up time. When picking up my car he gave me a detailed summary of my car inspection and also chatted about other things. I enjoyed the service & knowledge Stu provided and would come back again. Only leaving 4 stars because the front desk clerk’s attitude could have been improved.

Love love love this place! I feel like I have found a diamond in a coal mine with these guys. Their oil changes are a good price and they always give me such a good and thorough diagnosis with their safety inspection. I have been through other safety inspections and other car diagnosis and it is no where near what these guys do and a fraction of the cost. I always am telling people to come here. Despite me living in Boulder and being 45 minutes away, I will still drive down to Hummels to get my car checked out! Thank you guys so much!And this is not a paid ad if it sounds like it! Booked an oil change with Groupon. My own mistake for not reading the fine print but I’ve only ever been to Jiffy Lube or Valvoline in the past for oil changes who are Always super accommodating, friendly, and never require that you book by appointment only for oil changes.I didn’t ask the guys name who I had the pleasure of speaking with at the front desk that was super unhelpful and flat but long story short they could not provide an oil change until four weeks from now. If you’re looking for friendly, fast, and efficient business I wouldn’t recommend this place per my very short, uncomfortable experience with them and would not return for any services.

I met with Stu (I think that he is the owner). He thoroughly explained that there are many problems with my car and it might not be in my best interest to spend that much money on it because there were so many repairs needed, It is 15 years old with a lot of miles. Not many garages will be that straight and honest with a woman customer. I appreciate the honesty and will be back with my new car!

Being new to the area, I was worried when I started having issues with my car because I had no idea where to bring it. I found Hummel’s through a quick search and saw some really great reviews. I figured I’d call a few places, starting with this one. After my initial conversation with Stew, I felt confident in bringing my vehicle to him. I got an oil change, tire rotation and inspection at Hummels this week-the first time Ive gotten work done. I had a great experience, they were timely, very competent, and gave me honest information about what my car did and didnt need. I left feeling like I had a solid handle on what my next couple of repairs should be, and what I dont need to focus on right away, or at all. Lots of the time places are trying to upsell you or get you to do repairs you dont really need, but not here. Highly recommend!

The owner, Stu, of this shop is an intellectual type thats also been a mechanic for many years. He also has an intellectual approach to working on cars, in that he has his guys first go in to see whats wrong, and then only work on what is found to be wrong, and nothing more. To hear him speak this philosophy is great, because it shows that there is reasoning behind what he does, and not just profit. Stu cares about customer service also, which is refreshing in the industry.

Stu + his team are my guys! They are who I call when I need absolutely anything (even if its just a question about something car related) and I can always count on full disclosure of any work recommended, the reason why, and if the project is too large ($$) to capture in one visit, Stu will help me prioritize what needs to be done. The first time I came to Hummels, a gentleman wanted to have a full maintenance service done on his Wifes vehicle (couple hundred dollar work). Instead of charging the man for something that wasnt needed, Stu honestly told the gentleman that maintenance wasnt due for another 20,000 miles and instead offered to complete a vehicle inspection (pretty certain it was complimentary) to confirm everything was safe and no work necessary at this time. Then Hummels provided the gentlemen a ride home so he didnt have to wait for the bus in the rain (and he was picked up later too!). I think this characterizes the service here perfectly! Stu continues to go out of his way for me, always starting with diagnostics and never recommending anything he isnt convinced is needed. Hummels has picked up my car at work in the morning and picked me up at the end of the day to get it, offered to call the Dealership for me to confirm if repairs are covered under warranty, and always ensures I approve of ALL work before proceeding with completing it. Hummels is friendly, courteous, through, and the cost is always competitive. Even after I moved to the mountains, I still take my car to Hummels for work + car advice because I know its trustworthy. This repair shop is the best I have gone to in Denver. There is always a smiling face when I walk through the door.Hummel’s B&B helped me when I was in a pinch. I had a screw in my tire and came in frantically and without notice, just hoping they could help me. Stu suggested we put the spare on until the shop had some time to look at, and hopefully fix/patch my tire. The shop not only fixed it by the next day, they wanted to make sure it was fixed before the blizzard hit. THAT is customer service, and I am so appreciative.I feel that small shops get a bad rep for being dishonest, however, at Hummels B&B Automotive that is NOT the case. Stu is the most honest person in this industry !!We own a BMW that had a problem and Stu told us that its covered under warranty and when we towed it to BMW they told us that its not covered and the damage is more than 2,800. I almost didnt want to leave this review because they were at 69 reviews and thats hilarious; but Stu is so great I felt it was my responsibility to share with google. He was recommended to me by one of my employees who said he was an honest guy and would give me the truth about my old beat up baby, which he did. Having worked with tow truck drivers/mechanics for a year I know how many of them will recommend work you dont need for an inflated price; but my employee was right on the money and Stu gave me the honest truth. He did the inspection free and told me it wasnt worth having the work done on it. He also just seems like a friendly stand up guy and if I ever did need actual work done on a functioning car, Id definitely come here.

On my way home to Colorado on my road trip, the head gasket on my Honda blew. I was stuck in Saint George. I was going to have it repaired at the dealership but I decided to look at some other shop reviews before I took my car in to be repaired. I saw that Hummels Automotive had really great reviews so I called them, not only were they cheaper than the dealership, they also gave me an estimate that they would be able to fix it faster. Also when I spoke to Callie, she seemed to really care rather than just trying to sell me on fixing my car, it’s an older car with higher mileage. I decided to fix it rather than sell it. Working with them was a great experience, they also fixed my brakes which turned out to be a cheaper than they originally expected. Also when I spoke to Jim the mechanic, I could tell he was passionate about his job and cared about cars especially after he showed me his new diagnostic machine that he bought as a present to himself for his birthday. He even worked at night to help get me back on the road sooner. I felt that for what they did the prices were really fair as well. Although I am not happy that I blew a head gasket, I am very happy with the service I received from Hummel’s.

I ran out of gas across the street from this shop, I had my baby with me and just went in there to ask if they had a gas can I could borrow to go to the station and they were so amazing! The gentleman who was at the front desk actually asked one of the other mechanics to go to the gas station and bring me some gas so I didnt have to push my baby stroller and carry a gas can to and from the nearest station! I dont know where to begin but I will start off by saying this is hands down the best shop in all of Colorado! I had my engine seized back in November 2018 on my 2013 Ram 1500 and was fighting with my warrantys company over the costs to replace the engine. Went through 3 different shops and 4 tow trucks before I was recommended to Hummels B&B Automotive. Stu worked his magic and I only paid for sales tax! Stu & his team were outstanding during the whole process & kept me updated throughout. Havent had any issues whatsoever & feels good to be on the road again. Will definitely be returning for future truck needs! :)

I am from out of state and when I noticed that something was going on with my car, I immediately headed over to the auto shop and was greeted by a very understanding and helpful mechanic, Stu. I was told by the first shop that I went to that there were a number of things wrong with my vehicle after going in for an oil change. I wanted to get a second opinion so I went to Hummel’s. It turns out that I did need all of the things that the first shop said, but Stu was more thorough and helped to prioritize what needed to be done now. His work is fairly priced , but I was most impressed with his professionalism and taking the time to explain things to me . I would recommend this place and I will be going back for future services .

Hummels is great! They wont try to sell you on services you dont need and will always give their honest opinion. They dont go looking for problems on your car unless you ask them to. My car has had various issues over the past year, and Hummels has been the only one to figure out the problem - and then actual fix it! After each repair they had me come back for a checkup (free of charge) to make sure everything is running properly - and would fix it (also free of charge) if something was not working as expected. After one stint of expensive repairs (expensive because of the work needed, not unfair prices) they even detailed my whole car for free. They also provide free Uber rides to/from their shop while theyre working on your car. Stu, the owner, is also willing to take the time to explain the issues with your car to make sure you understand what is going on, instead of being left in the dark like a lot of mechanic shops. Its the little details that make the difference - definitely trust these guys to take care of your car!

Love, love, love this shop! My whole family brings our trucks here for oil changes, repairs & everything in between. Staff is incredibly friendly & always caring towards customers.My truck broke down on me & I took it in to the shop in Lakewood. I attend school in Fort Collins & had to return to school before my truck was finished & Stew arranged for me to have a ride to school AND deliver my truck to me as soon as it was finished.Stew is always very friendly to me when I come in & does well at keeping contact with me & updating me on my vehicle. Stu and his team did a great job on my 2016 Explorer radiator fault diagnosis and replacement. They worked with my warranty provider for me, and provided me with all documentation and old parts I required. They communicated promptly and are a very competent team.

This top of the line automotive repair facility deserves 10 stars. For last two years I have had my Honda Odyssey at 5 different repair facilities and 8 mechanics attempting to figure out the problem with my van ( it would stall out and also while driving the D4 light would shut off and vehicle would not accelerate). The first shop stated it was my transmission failing, I had them replace it with a new Honda transmission. Problem still there .Then they said it was my Battery and Alternator. They replaced both. Problem still happening. Second shop said it was an transmission problem.Took my vehicle out of there. Third shop said it was the catalytic converter. They replaced it ,problem still there. Fourth shop stated it was the electrical portion of the ignition switch. They kept the van for 3 months and they stated they test drove it and to pick up vehicle it was good to go. Nope problem still happened on the way home. Finally decided to go to Hummels B&B Automotive I described to Stu and his top of the line automotive technicians the problems I was experiencing with my van. With in 2 days he diagnosed and replaced the fuel pump relay and the problem was gone. I have driven to California and back and all over Colorado, no problems occurred . Thank you all I now have a safe and reliable vehicle thanks to Stu and his amazing top of the line technicians!!!!!

Excellent service and care. Provides consistent and exceptional service on my vehicle and my wifes. My mother-in-law recently brought her truck here. Not only did they go to her house and tow the vehicle in but they repaired it fully. A completely different mechanical issue occurred in the subsequent days and this outfit picked up the truck again, repaired the new problem as if it were included in the prior service work. We will always take our cars here!

They told me everything I needed to know about my brakes and mentioned it could be held off for a little while, then gave me an estimate that was very fair and then didn’t even charge me for taking a look at my truck. I am very pleased with the visit and I will be back the next time I have a problem.

Great experience at this shop. They take the time to work with you and look after your car well. Ran by a family guy with good morals and he always gets the job done while being communicable which is very important.I saw the Groupon comment about it taking 2 weeks to schedule an oil change and I think you should never schedule things last second. They have hundreds if not thousands of people getting this service done and it goes beyond an oil change. They are losing time and money but do a great job still- so its important to be considerate and understand that.No corners are being cut here and its a shop with great offers, great staff, a nice atmosphere, and most importantly, affordable prices!!-3rd time customer who will be coming here for all my automotive needs

Brakes roters and alignment for half of what my mechanic wanted. The owner Stu explained everything that was wrong with my car, he showed me what needed to be fixed immediately and what could wait. I called around to get prices with his bill in front of me and he literally charged half of what some of the other places were asking. Finally a mechanic I as a woman feel comfortable going to.

The guys are honest lets me know what to save money for in the future. I have referred numerous friends and coworkers all have been very pleased!

I have been going to Hummels since I moved here 4 yrs ago and couldnt be more thankful to find a more honest shop. Stu, has really helped me out with my car issues for a very good price (quoted by my step dad in NY). My car recently started acting it up, brought it right in and told Stu what was going on. He listened to me and didnt make any assumptions of what it could be. My car wasnt showing any signs of any problem at first but Stu trust me and kept my car for 3 weeks to make sure that he found out exactly where the problem was coming from. I am so glad he did, the problem was bigger than I expected and my car was pretty much safety hazard. Stu and his team did a great job! I am now a happy driver :)

Not a fair business. I was really hoping it was they will up sell you hundreds of dollars guys dont waste your time.

Pros:1) The facility is centrally located and easily accessible from Denver downtown.2) They are pretty responsive on social platforms and3) They accept Groupons.Cons:1) Booking system: They dont have an automated/ a proper booking system. You will not get any confirmation on your bookings via invite, email or text. Please dont expect to get any reminders (email or text). You will have to remember your appointment which might be a month later. Better you note it down somewhere and hope you dont forget it :) .2) Long wait time: They have long wait time, specially when you are using a groupon. Sometimes you might have to wait for a month or more. You should not opt for this place if your car needs urgent attention/service.3) Groupon: They dont schedule Groupon appointments on weekends. Weekends are normally for VIPs. This is NOT mentioned anywhere on Groupon description. You might get a weekday appointment which might be highly inconvenient for office goers. (Note: I was told that while booking appointment.)4) Wait area: They need to improve on their wait area facility. They dont have a Wi-Fi. Kindly note that if you are planning to do some office work while your car is being serviced. (Note: The lady at front desk told me that I cant use their Wi Fi for checking emails while car is being serviced. I understand, they might deny that :))5) Customer service : I felt unwelcomed from the moment I entered their reception. I found the front desk person rude and apathetic towards customer needs and situation. Putting onus and blame on customers dont help businesses often. They lacked customer service attitude and understanding customers stand point. I hope they can put themselves in customers shoes and improve their service. (Note: I have been servicing my car for years but never seen anyone been turned away for being 15 min late, specially when he is driving 30 miles just for service. I think situation should have been dealt more professionally and politely). BTW I was NEVER told what time should I drop my car off.6) Area looked unsafe for a late pick up.I might give them benefit of doubt and one more chance before taking my business somewhere else.I dont like giving bad reviews to any business, specially when they are local.

When I went to Hummels I talked to the owner and he asked what the symptoms of my car were. I told him, and he immediately stated that it was likely for my make and model of my car, that the repairs for the symptoms it was having would not be worth the car. He didnt try to charge me for a diagnostic first, or try to sell me on anything. I told him I wanted to get it checked out anyways and have that diagnostic run. I get a call the next morning and he tells me that my car had a safety issue: that the bottom of the car was so thoroughly rusted that, the previous issue aside, the repairs for that problem were again not worth the car. When I picked it up, he didnt charge me for the diagnostic, because he didnt have to do much to find that out about the car.Its rare to find an honest mechanic. Will be bringing my future cars there. Also, he offers complimentary shuttle service for customers. If there is a negative review on here, its more likely because of customers personal problems, and little to do with the place.

My sister recommended this place after they fixed a problem she had for years with her Toyota Avalon. The folks there went above and beyond my expectations, the issue was fully explained and I was informed through the entire process. I will absolutely trust this shop in the future!

I came by this shop driving Lyft. They offer customers complimentary rides and they said good things. I had a reoccurring problem with my air conditioning and he fixed it. A week later, it stoped working again. He was kind enough to swap out the blower motor and parts free of charge. This is a great shop, very trustworthy people. Thanks Stu!

Excellent customer service. Owner is honest and upfront. This shop will not try to get you to purchase anything that is not necessary. Fair pricing on parts and labor.

Hummel’s inspected a used vehicle we were considering purchasing. They saved us a long trip, a lot of time, and ultimately a lot of money I’m sure. You will not find a more honest and friendly auto repair shop anywhere, and I mean anywhere. If you want someone you can trust working on your vehicle this is the place.

DONT GO HERE!!! This guy is a pos came here to have oil changed and told them not to do inspection they did anyways and broke my wheel lock that was last week. The set of locks he replaced them with were some off brand garbage that no other shop has the part to remove. And now is refusing service on my vehicle. Worst mechanic ever dont go here he will rob you tell u your getting good work and parts for garbage DO NOT GO HERE.

The polar opposite of your typical man behind the curtain auto repair shop - Stu (owner) is keen to educate his customers on every decision that he makes whilst repairing your car, but more importantly WHY. Best experience that Ive ever had with an auto repair business - staff is not only extremely knowledgeable but notably friendly and fun.

Today is a day to say thank you Stu. Thank you so much for helping us navigate BMW and pushing for the work that needed to be done to be covered under warrantee. My fiancee and I went to BMW and they said our car needed $9500 worth of work that would not be covered under warrantee. Stu called them and called them and pushed for us. He finally finally got them to either stop lying or realize the real issue with the car and they fixed the car under warrantee.Stu is a gem and the most honest mechanic in Denver. Thank you for saving us so much money. From here on out, I will never take my cars anywhere else. Highly, highly recommend.

I didnt know there were businesses like this any more. Put customer over $$. Took my 2002 Honda CRV in for a clutch problem. Turned out it was not worth fixing as this car had 250,000 mi. and had been totaled in the hail storm. Stu didnt charge me anything for disassembling and then reassembling my car to assess the problem. AND, they paid for my roundtrip on Uber so I could leave my car.. This was my first visit but now, I am a customer for life!
