Sutter is about the best metal recycling center in the area. Their pricing is a good as any one else and they always do their best to maximize the amount the customer receives. I will definitely bring metal to them again.
Have had them haul 3 or 4 cars in the last few years. It is probably one of the last places whose cash offers arent insulting. Plus, they have always been super helpful, always friendly and a few of the drivers are even funny. I recommend them to others all the time.
I own a farm and have a lot of unusable farm equipment laying around after emailing I received a prompt reply and Sam came out to look at everything we wanted gone. He was very professional and timely. He removed one piece every other company has turned away and did it safely! He was training a new guy that day (maybe Eric?) and was very informative as the steps needed to get the trasher out safely from the building. We will be using them to clean up the scrap metal on our farm!
I highly recommend this guys. They were great. Had a hard time backing in and out with our trailer and they helped us get in and out easily.Great crew!!
Good place to bring your metal recycling and make a little money.Staff is friendly
Place is a joke. took all aluminum block in, paid for reg engine block. also had load of freezers and they said they wouldnt pay me for them. That would have been nice to know before I got on scale and dropped them. They will rip you off anyway they can.
Great scrap metal buyer. Pull onto the scale, wait for the signal, unload, return to the scale, when you get the signal, go to the office.
I came to the yard in Lacey several months ago to drop off aluminum cans an other items. There wasn’t a problem until I got paid. I was supposed to receive $15.75 for the items. When I got to the office the door it was blocked an a guy handed me $15.00 with a receipt out the door. I was told then that they didn’t give change. So in other words they keep the change because they pay to they lowest dollar. I was really surprised an upset that a business with several outlets would do this . When I complained they said there is a sign inside that states this because of a change shortage. The problem with that is you don’t get to go in the building because of COVID-19. If you’re going to take the customers change this should be disclosed or posted at the receiving point before the transaction has occurred, not after the transaction. I didn’t have much material on this trip and won’t ever go back. As I was leaving I seen a guy on a bike pull up with a bag that had cans an some copper. I felt bad for him and all the others that lost money with this company. Do yourself a favor don’t do business with people like this, go to CALBAGS in Tacoma They give the best prices around and have always been fair.
Easy efficient service. remember reuse..let the scraps be reused. not much money but get a good feeling rather than the dump waste to sit forever in landfill
I wanted to pass along my displeasure of Sutter Metals new so-called rounding techniques of payments on scrap metal. I recently drop off of aluminum cans and the amount sold was $4.80 per the attached ticket. However, that is not how much I received. I instead was handed $4.00, apparently it was rounded down to this amount. I was told this is how you do it now.Rounding means to the nearest whole number the precedes the column value where the half-way point is where it goes up or down. In this case, if rounding was truly being performed, I should have received $5.00 since $4.80 is closer to $5 than $4. But in reality I should have received exactly what the ticket stated for the weight of the aluminum, $4.80.Its not the money Im concerned about since were not talking about a lot here. I find this at the very least to be dishonest and borderline unethical. If Sutter Metals is going to do this as a standard business practice they shouldnt call it rounding. Instead, call it were keeping the change.Consider going to Midway Recycling instead. They will actually pay full-up and not short you...
Very professional and courteous for my first time there. In and out smooth
This is the best way to get rid of old appliances. You can donate them or they will pay you $ per pound. I found this is way better than paying the landfill $18.00 ea. Per appliance.
Its exactly what you expect from a scrap yard. $.50 a pound for aluminum right now.
Typical metals recycling center.
Horrible communication. Apparently the driver calls 30 min before pick up. We were told that they would pick up in the afternoon and then nothing after that. My husband emailed them in the morning and nothing. I call and they are going to be here “closer” to 5:30. Definitely not the afternoon, then the lady says well the driver could be there around 2:30...I would NOT recommend them.
Rude people. Its been a year since Ive been there because last time I was there some skinny little punk kid was mocking every word I said and was so rude that I had decided I would not return. Anyways its been a year so I thought they probably had a pretty high turnover rate and chances were that the same person wasnt there anymore, I decided to give Sutters a second chance. There was a new person there still rude, ignored me, then when I pulled out my aluminum cans he looked at them and told me they were steel. I said no there aluminum cat food cans and then because he didnt want to admit he didnt realize they were aluminum he told me I needed to separate the cat food aluminum can from the regular aluminum cans. Im standing there, he looks at me and says, where you going to separate them? and I said no Ill go somewhere else and I will not return here.I called and asked several other recycle centers if I needed to separate my aluminum cans before I dropped them off there and they all said no. Plus the the guy at Sutters didnt even question the guy that pulled up after I did, he had aluminum cans too. Just helped him dump them in the dumpster. Maybe the guy is intimidated by women, who knows. Thinking after these last two bad experiences with Sutterd that Ill just take my stuff to the dump from now on. Its not worth the humiliating experience with the few pennies I get recycling.
Sam Adams was amazing to work with. He was responsive, thoughtful, diligent and respectful of our property. He also had exceptional communications skills. He was a true professional from start to finish.I would highly recommend the services of Sutter Metals.
Were from Shelton. Between 4 different places, this places paid DOUBLE! No Joke! Highly recommend. Worth the drive. Entrance slightly confusing. Guys and office gal very nice!
We had everything ready to load onto the truck, and Sam was in and out in 25 minutes. Very quick and got rid of extra metal that was taking up a lot of space! Thanks, Sam.
Organized and prepared for new conditions. Would appreciate if they could post current metal return prices.
Fast friendly decent price on scrap metal.
Fast and easy
Awesome, they scrapped my metal the best!!
Yard is tight but they get it done quick. Always fair with pricing.
Clean and great rewards program
Tried to schedule pick ups of scrap cars 2 separate times, days in advance both times. Didnt hold appointment times and basically told us we are SOL and have to schedule again anyway. We had to take time off work to make the rescheduled appointment. First time the driver came out, had an attitude and wasnt able to pick up all the cars that we were told he could on the phone, then got his tow truck stuck and we had to bail them out. Second appointment we scheduled a day in advance and they called us and didnt have any notes about an appointment time being kept. Would not recommend if you are looking for a timely/professional/competent service.
Great experience....
If you want the best service in the Pacific Northwest, you need to bring your scrap metal to Sutter Metals! Nice people, good service, and wicked awesome prices! Boom!
Love this place
Super easy to drop off your aluminum cans. Awesome staff, in&out in 5 min.
Great service. Fast and efficient You can actually see your weights and know they arent trying to pull over a fast one on you.
Easy to work with, quick and efficient
Great place good people
Super easy process. Unfortunately I did not have the title for my vehicle anymore, but they had a process for that situation and it was still no hassle at all. I called them, they had it towed, and I got cash. Everyone I talked to was extremely friendly, and the tow truck driver that came to tow my car was hella chill.Im also happy to have that piece of crap car off the edge of my driveway -_-
I like Sutters because it is convenient for me, in regards to my location and its proximity to my home. The only thing I would even consider them improving upon would be to pay better prices.
They were very organized, helpful, and friendly. Our new go to place.
They will rip you off! I own an used appliance store and have been going here over 5 years. Recently i came in with a load of fridges, after i unloaded they proceed to say they dont take fridges. Also brought engine block that was aluminum and had no other metal on it. I ended up only getting 40 bucks because they wouldnt pay for fridges and gave me engine part price instead of aluminum price. This place is a joke. Terrible customer service. I will take my business else where and suggest you do the same.
People are friendly enough but man, they don’t pay out nearly as much as some of the other scrap yards, like Calbag. They underpay for copper by A LOT! I don’t suggest going to this place.
Love that place.
Ask for Ashley she was Professional and very courteous and polite and knowledgeable , I did have a bad experience with another person on the phone so if you can ask for Ashley shell help you junk your junker.
Absolutely fantastic to work withSold five vehicles here
They are always cluttered and disorganized. Do yourself a favor and go to Midway Recovery in Tumwater.
July 19th not impressed because the centralia location just opened today at 8am but they still have no money to pay for what people drop off. And they are UNDER PAYING for copper wire giving people 35 cents per pound when every where elseis paying over 85. Cent per lb. So as of now this recycling center is ripping off the public...
I had 7 cars and pickup trucks and 1 lumber truck, I sold to them. The tow truck driver told me I will get twice the price from the lumber truck, since it was twice the size than the other vehicles. When I received my payment, I noticed they did not pay me what I was told I would receive. They made an argument that the lumber truck lost most of its metal weight from rust. It was not worth my time to debate/argue it. The lesson learned, is to get it on writing first.
Customer service was great, clean, respectful and very professional thank you keep it up
Always friendly
Have dropped two loads of scrap steel here. Both experiences have been very positive.
Terrible customer service, if u can, I would go elsewhere. Both times I’ve dealt with them I got nothing but attitude
The only time I wont go there is when prices of materials drop to low otherwise they are my main recycler
Got more than I expected for my unused scrap metal
Closed 10 minutes earlier than.posted business hours
Wonderful
