Receptionists barely capable of scheduling appointments. No response to online requests. Barely functional office.

Brutal. Tried filing my return with one of the Tax Pros (Karen) virtually and it ended up that no one was working on it. When I reached out to Karen being the person assigned she said it was assigned to someone else. I had no way of contacting this other person and eventually the status of my return went from in-progress to start my taxes.

I only went to H&R Block because my situation was fairly simply, but there were a few issues and the fact that I needed two years returns prepared.What a horrible experience, the woman at the desk when I walked in was just fine, but unfortunately she was not to be my tax preparer. She called back to a cubicle and Loraine emerged--she could not have been ruder or more dismissive. It was VERY clear that she did not give a rip about earning my business, she did not even want to talk to me. She literally wanted me to leave my file folder on the desk and go away, not a single question about my situation. I cannot recall ever being treated this poorly by someone in professional services.Needless to say my confidence level dropped to zero. Why would I have ANY faith in someone that rude who did not care enough to ask a SINGLE QUESTION about my needs? I walked out and will find someone in Kirkland that actually WANTS my tax business!Whomever manages this location should be removed, unless as an organization this is how H&R Block wants its customers treated!

I went to this H&R Block because I needed three amendments done that might total in an extra few thousand dollars back to me, so its pretty important its done right. I told the receptionist as much when I called to make an appointment, and she set me up with someone who had never done an amendment.I had simple taxes this year, so I did them myself, and they seemed offended about that. When my preparer didnt know how to file an amendment, she asked Lorraine for help. Throughout our entire interaction, Lorraine was very patronizing, going so far as to explain how addition and subtraction worked. I have a degree in engineering and did my own taxes this year, Im neither stupid nor ignorant on math or tax law.When Lorraine left, my preparer (whos name Im leaving out because she was very nice, hence two stars instead of one) mock-amended my 2016 taxes. When things didnt add up correctly, she couldnt tell me why. She didnt have a conceptual understanding of the tax law, she only knew what the form said. She only knew how to put numbers into boxes and click ok. Lorraine continued to yell commentary across the hallway at me.Ive gone to H&R Block before and its been fine, but the individual preparer matters. Look through other reviews to find good preparers, and insist on appointments with them. Avoid Lorraine if you look younger than 35 and dont want to be treated like a child.

I just couldnt believe the cost. My tax return was so straight forward. No more 1040 EZ forms, unbelievable! I should have been able to file my taxes for free.

Scheduled an appointment, and arrived 5 minutes early. They said theyre running slightly behind. No problem, I can wait. 30 minutes later they notify me that the advisor is stuck on an issue and itll be another 20 minutes. Turns out, the customer whose issue they were stuck on was not even in the building. Huge lack of professionalism and etiquette.I ended up leaving because they were closing in 20 minutes and still not ready for me. I did not want to be rushed through in 15 minutes as I just purchased my first home and was looking for an experienced professional to explain the ropes. 0 star experience.

I had my taxes done twice by this H&R block by the same employee, Sundaram Ramachandran. I had forgotten one of my W-2s this year and he was kind enough to wait for me to go get it sinse I lived close by. He was very informative about this years taxes and next years as well and explained to me in detail to get more out of my taxes for the future. He was genuine and showed great customer service.10/10 would recommend this man to do your taxes.

- Worst customer experience.- Very bad behavior with the customer, no respect and trust for the customer.- Will not at all recommend to any friends or family.- Wouldnt even give 1 star.Situation:- Took the documents back after the first visit, since wanted to double check online (this doesnt mean filing taxes online).- Also, due to some missing documents, the meeting was scheduled for a second visit for filing. I specifically mentioned, I will be coming back.- Filed the previous year as well. So there was some good relationship and went to the same H&R block office because of past good experience.Problem:- Received a call shortly after taking the documents back from the Tax preparer, who started shouting and telling that my time is not free and The moment you took the document, I knew you wouldnt come back.- As a customer, I started apologizing as I felt bad for taking MY DOCUMENTS back (which I believe I have the right to do), however, he then said Your sorry doesnt matter, I have other valuable clients.- Even after this, I went to H&R to file my taxes for the last time to keep my words.- Also, he mentioned that all the Asian people check with them first (H&R block) and then file the taxes online, which I felt was very biased and racist comment.In addition, while taking the documents back, the receptionist was very rude and started asking why do you need the documents (MY DOCUMENTS) and all.
