Henry and Julie here are the greatest people to work with, so generous with instrument tuning. I have purchased a violin from them and have another rental. They answer their phone promptly and handle inquiries quickly. They have a smooth scheduling ap on their web site and its a pleasure working with them.

Went to Henry Bischofberger Violins to purchase/trial violin for my son. We made an appointment online, which was easy and convenient, and we even got a reminder before the appointment. Very good service as well. We were given several violins and bows to try out in a quiet room that were based on our price range. The violins are well made and high quality, and then we decided for my daughter to try some violins as well. The appointment was only 30 minutes but we didnt feel rushed and we actually spent 2 hours trying out violins. We ended up taking 4 violins for a free 7 day trial and were given cases to store the violins in. After the trial, we purchased 2 violins (which are the Merlino brand) and bows. Payment was easy, accept credit cards, check, or Zelle. I definitely recommend this place, has several other string instrument to purchase or rent as well.

We have been a customer for almost 10 years and they have always been friendly and genuine with their service. He has provided excellent and professional service and recommended the best instrument for the students. All three of my sons have used their string instruments and we cannot express how grateful we are for his service and care.

Mr. Bischofberger gave me friendly and professional advice about my beloved violin. I visited his shop with plenty of money to spend on repair, but he very kindly advised me not to dump money into what is essentially a lost cause. Mr. Henry Bischofberger is not only a man of great skill and experience, he is a man of integrity. He cleaned and tuned my violin, adjusted the strings, gave me good advice, and refused to charge me a dime. I’ll tell you this: my next violin will be made by Mr. Bischofberger!

Henry and his staff have impressed me again and again! We have been renting instruments from them for about 4 years and was ready to purchase a full-size instrument last year. Bischofberger gifted the instrument to us due to our long history as customers. Scheduling and rescheduling is very easy on their website. We received a nice email reminder for our appointment. Henry came right out to help us exchange our violin rental for the next size up when he saw our car (for COVID). He and Debbie are such wonderful people to help students rent quality instruments. They helped us replace a broken string and tuned it.My granddaughter has been taking lessons for a year and loves to play!

We have been customers of Henry Bischofberger Violins for a few years now, first with renting a range of instruments, and now in care of our first owned instrument. We have visited all of the strings and luthier shops in the Seattle area, but I have come to trust this shop over others because of the high quality of their instruments and service. We found better sound from this shops rentals, and I have appreciated being able to easily communicate directly with the luthier, Henry, when we have questions.

After renting for 2 years, l bought a violin for my daughter from Henry B. about 3 or 4 years ago, and the quality and service has always been excellent. Recently, our cat had knocked the violin off a table and so the fingerboard had become unglued among many other problems. We brought it in to repair the fingerboard with a short notice. Due to the COVID-19 concerns, there was not much communication, violin was picked up from our car. And after we picked up the next day, we were so grateful to find out that they had fixed not only the fingerboard, but also other problems like the bridge, and replaced all the old strings with new ones, and it was completely free of charge! Their professionalism and customer service is truly above and beyond our expectations! They were very considerate of the ongoing pandemic too. Easy online scheduling made sure only one customer at a scheduled time slot. We only had to drop off and pick up the violin without having any contact whatsoever. Highly recommend HB for any string instruments players!

I was extremely impressed by Henry Bischofberger Violins. Im a beginning cellist and was visiting Seattle without my cello. Henry simply lent me one for the time I was there. I was amazed by so many aspects of this experience, first simply that they extend this courtesy to visiting musicians. When I visited the shop Henry offered me a couple of cellos to try. Both were qualitatively better than the cello I rent, which is certainly not a bad instrument. I had a ball with the instrument I borrowed. Im nearing the time when I will buy my own cello, and I wish I lived closer to Henrys shop; Id buy from him in a heartbeat. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and courteous, and they seem to have a large inventory of instruments.

I needed to send my mothers old German cello to my cousin across the country, whose daughter is studying cello. It hadnt been played in decades, had only a soft case, and I needed a packing box. I called around, and Bichofberger was the only place that had a used shipping box. Bit of a drive for me, but I headed over.Henry took a look at the cello and called out some things that needed to be done to make it playable; however he also told me that the new Chinese cellos were really good and not that much more expensive than fixing up my old one. No hard sell either way, totally left it up to me.I decided to send to cello as is to my cousin and let him make the call. Henry brought out the packing case - really sturdy thick cardboard - and started to show me how to suspend the cello in it; then he said wait a minute, went out and came back with quite a nice hard cello case that he had in his storeroom. I asked him how much, and he said it was free, because it was old and beat up. (Looked great to me!) I tried to convince him to take some money but he refused. So we packed the cello into the case, packed the case into the box - and then he threw in a free tailpiece, as he said my old one needed to be replaced! Had to get out of there quick before he gave me a new cello, and maybe threw in a violin too!Great guy, seemed very knowledgeable, and his shop and employees were all very friendly and helpful. Cant recommend him highly enough!

We have been renting and buying our instruments with Henry for more than 8 years. Clearly the finest instruments you can buy/rent. My daughters interest in playing grew stronger once we switched to Henrys due to better quality and sound.

I had brought in an old family violin to the shop for Mr. Bischofberger to look at. I knew it wasnt worth much (if anything at all) but I wanted to know if it could be made playable. He took the time to look at it and gave it a new fine tuner and E string very quickly (even though he was very busy and knew I decided against fixing it due to cost). His staff was also very friendly and fun to chat with.

Broke one of my strings on the first day of practice and they were able to quickly replace the string and tune my instrument. Great experience.
