It was my first time going to get my oil changed without my mom. i was super nervous due to other locations being a little rude to us or not making us feel welcome. however, as soon as i came inside the lady welcomed me in and immediately asked what i needed. the entire time she maintained a kind and comforting tone of voice and didn’t seem upset when i didn’t know the answers to a few of her questions about my car. definitely coming here from now on.

In town for business and as we left the hotel, we ran over a street sign that was laying in the driveway. Punctured the tire and knew we needed to get to a shop quick. In walking the day before I remember walking by a tire shop a couple blocks from the hotel. Pulled in and Lisa took great care of us. Told us a few cars were ahead of us and it would be a couple hours -- nothing we could really do but wait. Less than an hour later, Lisa informed us our tire was done -- didnt even need a new tire! Great customer service and easy to work with.

They did another car for me about 6 or 7 years ago and the car was in pretty bad shape to the point the mechanic was shocked that I drove to them instead of having it towed to them. They did the repairs and it ran great after that. I decided to visit them again with another car and the work was done for a reasonable price (thanks for the discount to guys). My washer fluid hose still needs repairing, but thats okay Ill manage. Thanks for all your work...keep it up!

Worst experience by far! I went in having conference in Rick (the mechanic that worked on my vehicle) and my car is worst then when I took it in sadly. They refused to do anything about nor follow up. Out $753 with a car that now decides to idle and shuts off while my children are in the car. Neither of these issues were a problem beforehand. clearly he needed the money. ya live and you learn. Also corporate never gets back to you..they gather your information and that’s about it 🥴

Kennedy and Lisa were beyond accommodating Rick also did an exceptional job keeping me informed as to how my vehicle was running. Each employee I dealt with was really friendly and not pushy (which is something that gives me anxiety) Lisa offered my daughter some water and gave me a great recommendation to ride the street car around instead waiting in the lobby with my 7 year old which was actually something we had the best time doing. Kennedy was very polite when I called in to see if they could get my car in. Overall 5 stars all the way around!

I love the people who work here. My first quote was WAY more than I was expecting and the mechanic said, whats the price that will work best for you? And he then explained one of the services could wait and he would take care of the more important things to. Very personable front desk employees as well.

I arrived at around 11am and got a warm welcome from the lady at the reception. I gave a description of what was the problem with my car... Minutes later, the lead mechanic (Mr John! I think) came and explained to the additional problem according to their quick assessment. I agreed, no matter the cost, and signed the paperwork. He promised that my car would be ready by 5:00pm. Since I was to report to work at 6pm, I found no problem waiting so as to have my car fixed. I just hang around till the clock hit 5pm; no word from neither Mr John nor the receptionist about the progress... At 5:30, I went to ask the receptionist and it wasnt ready yet. By then It was clear that I wouldnt be able to make it to work! Only 10 minutes before they close (5:50), and almost everyone else had left, thats when John showed up to tell me that I had leave my car for them to complete work the following day! After waiting for about 7 hours... I had no choice, but this was a big blunder in terms of communication. It cost me my daily income for that particular day.The reason I gave a 3-star rating is because Mr John offered to drive me back home; this was very kind of him. They called me the following day after completing the work. They did a great job and my car is running so well. I have no doubt about their skills but they should try to evaluate the scope of the job at hand and give a realistic estimate of the time itll take to complete...They won back my heart, but their poor communication will keep chasing away their loyal customers like myself.

I was told my oil change will take about an hour and a half and it took more than 3 hours, the lady was very nice about it though cause they were busy and that’s understandable, what I didn’t like is when the mechanic called me mentioning the problems that my vehicle has and obviously wanted to fix them, however I am aware of the problems of my vehicle, and I denied for any extra work; the mechanic was being pushy though asking more questions like:1) well how come if you know about the car u don’t do oil change yourself? That’s just rude!! Is what he said. I didn’t respond or say anything, I just said just do your job I brought the car over the shop for an oil change and that’s about it. Maybe a heads up for the next time, if someone says no it’s a no don’t ask more questions to the customers, you do what you are assigned to do,

Overall OK experience. Recommend a quote in writing before proceeding. $142 to replace flat tire on a American sedan. Final invoice has arbitration clauses in disclaimers which seemed like lawsuits are a concern for them. Yet they quote verbally. In other words they make you sign their final invoice on paper but quote you verbally. Doesn’t seem balanced. Good to get checked in, little slow on work. When weighing how to proceed on a flat tire my intuition told me candor was wee bit cloudy... Maybe flat could have been plugged? Who knows? Average experience which conforms to most repair shops. I prefer exceptional positive experiences.

I took my suv in because it would no longer shift into eco mode where it runs on fewer cylinders burning less gas, and by the time I got to Calverts the check engine light was on. As it turned out I had an oxygen sensor and a second sensor that needed replaced. I left the suv and went on about my day. They called pretty fast, it was ready. This is my 4th vehicle theyve helped maintain and they are consistently polite, respectful, quick, and though I of course wish the prices were lower, reasonably-priced as compared to other repair places. I especially like the Main St location because I can walk home, but theyve been nice enough to give me a ride to work several times too.

Honestly this place is great, the lady at the front desk is always nice, it’s right in downtown and I can drop it off and pick it back up when needed. They are very in communication and tell me what should be fixed or not and are fast. I find them not expensive and for regular maintenance they are great. I suggest this place to all my co workers and ppl I know who live/work in downtown.

Had a pretty hard job for them that day. Replaced the top radiator hose on a jaguar 2005 x type. Was a 5 hr experience that was unexpected. The people were very down to earth, & they done an outstanding job. Was somewhat pricey, but for all that was done, I couldnt complain. The reason I only gave 4 🌟 was due to the waiting room area. The chairs were old worn, & torn. Overall the place didnt look very well kept, but hey I guess if you put out 5 🌟 work thats really all that matters, but if you have to wait on your car as I did. It would be more pleasant to have the view of a clean white wall

So I took my car to the dealership to see if I really needed all that they said I needed, and guess what, it was all a lie. So if I would’ve listened to this business I would’ve paid $560 for NOTHING...

Needed my car inspected for tags. First shop I went to was craaazy busy. Called here and they said theyd get me in right away. They did and called me with results in less than an hour (my car was old enough it needed full inspection). Gave me estimate for repairs (cheap!) and got them done within another two hours.In short... quick, easy, priced right!

Had an emergency flat tire and was being towed to the Firestone down the street. When I called Firestone they said they couldnt take me AT ALL - for a FLAT TIRE. Happened to be passing Calverts so asked the tow truck driver to stop - ran inside to check and they were more than happy to take care of me in record time. Was glad they were there. Friendly and no-nonsense service. If I lived nearby Id take all my business there.

They are great! I brought my car in for an oil change and they went above and beyond and mentioned stuff they noticed that needed attention! Amazing value, great customer service and great staff! Very kind and friendly and explained everything to me in terms i could understand and answered all my questions. Being a woman I hve gotten the run around from alot of places but not this crew! 20/10 for service :)

Very friendly. Very fast. Not even an appointment needed. And I got to watch Judge Judy while I waited for my car to be done. The front desk clerk was friendly and most of all patient with me, since I called at 445pm, made it in by 5pm, and they close at 6pm. No attitude from her or the mechanic. So refreshing and appreciated. And even though the $16.99 coupon didnt apply to my car, I still got $20 off a full synthetic oil change. Thanks guys!

I called before I went, and specifically asked what was a good time to come in , without having to wait? The girl on the phone very chipperly, told me to come on in now. So I went there, and was there for almost TWO HOURS WAITING FOR ..... a CAR INSPECTION, that’s right a five minute inspection turned into almost two hours! When I got there this man was there and he said he had already been there for three hours and the girl told him the same thing. It seems they want your money so bad they will lie just to get you in the door, knowing that you will be waiting there for the remainder of your day! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I pulled in there - was an employee doing burnouts at the garage bay and the guy in the red Mustang almost hit my car...Not to mention they put my air filter in wrong and forgot to close it correctly so I drove it for about an hour noticing a really loud noise coming from the engine. Normally I always double check things but I was in a trustworthy mood and I learned from thatI would stay away from this place low quality staff and bad parking

While the front desk staff was very professional, I had an unpleasant experience here. I had two pieces replaced, solenoid valve and something else cant remember what a few months ago. My check engine light came back on the day after, and when I called, they told me to just replace the fuel cap (later found out my car has an automatic locking system, so it doesnt even have a fuel cap). By the tone of the call it just seemed like they didnt like that I had questioned their work.About a month ago, I finally took my car into a different shop. It turns out that one of the new parts had been attached too tightly, and it misshaped my fuel tank which is going to cost me a pretty penny. Cant afford it yet but hoping to get it fixed soon. Not too happy, but I guess thats what I get for taking my car to the closest shop out of convenience.

I dont have much problem with the work though they told me my windshield wiper fluid was out.. I was like what no way.. we went out there and looked and yep it was full.. so definitely really do lazy or lying work for that $4 fee of topping off windshield wiper fluid.

Went for an oil change as soon as they opened 7:30 A.m, took an ahour and a half to finish. Leave close to 9, hop on the road for a spring break trip to Branson. An hour down the road i see smoke comin from the hood so I figured it was oil spilled on manifold so I thought nothin of it. I get to Branson, which is 180 away to see white smoke again. I opened the hood to find a red mechanic rag burning on the manifold melting wires from O2 sensor. Didnt even bother calling, I will just not recommend this service station due to unprofessional work. Wish I could give 0 stars

I came for an oil change. I was told it would be done in an hour and possibly a little longer. Told my car was next one to go in. 2 and a half hours later.... oil change done. I asked for them to check tire pressure when I arrived. Not done.I got in my Lincoln MKZ and my leather cream color door had grease from someones hand print all over it. No offer to clean it off.While waiting I kept hearing to other customers we are waiting on parts. When I inquired about my car I was told there is NO room since other cars are waiting on parts. I inquired if they have a designated oil change bay and told no they do not. I inquired if the vehicles that are waiting on parts are drivable they said yes. I inquired why dont they put drivable vehicles waiting on parts in lot and get oil change cars in. They said they dont do that.So they would rather have their employees sit around and wait for parts while other r people waiting in their waiting area. The answer is YES BTW... Kansas Cities positivity rate is 48% today. Lets all just sit around for as long as possible and do nothing.Last comment, while waiting a customer was discussing with the manager what they didnt do for her car. The manger apologized and said it was their fault they did not inform her of the issues, didnt use a decreased to see where the problem was. And finally i guess ill see you in court. Wow what a careless employee and so UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

I was looking for a reliable place to consistently take my car for about $5,000 worth of repairs needed. I have concluded Calvert’s downtown is not the place to go. They did not take responsibility for added problems that were not in existence until I took my car in for repair. So for the greed of $1,000+ and lots of fast “talk” about what the manager considered an “honest” price and honesty in general, Calverts Downtown missed out on what easily could have been About $5,000 more dollars worth of business. Any business that is honest doesn’t need to say it. It will show in their work. And it, honesty, didn’t show up at Calvert’s downtown.

I will never come here again!!!!!! Ive been here since 930 am for break pads. I was told there was no wait with parts arriving in an hour or so. It is now 2PM and the claim they have my front breaks done but are still waiting on my back breaks to arrive from wherever. Why wouldnt all my break pads arrive at the same time is odd to me. Never come here.

I waited here for two hours when all I needed was an oil change. When I came, they hardly had any other customers (maybe 2). I originally thought I would try this place out because I was send one of their ads with a coupon for $16.99 conventional oil change. They told me my car wasn’t approved for them to do it. I ended up paying $72. Not worth it. I could go anywhere else and get quicker service at a better price.

Ask for Brandon (tall guy, dreads) to work on your vehicle and you wont go wrong. Like any auto service shop, the quality of the work comes down to the skill of the technician. At shops with a handful or better of techs, you never know who might be assigned your job. Be sure to request the tech you know and whose skill you can count on. For me, its Brandon - hes a smart, skilled guy who will always take care of someone who shows courtesy.Calverts is hit and miss with a lot of people, and Ive not used them in a long while now, but follow my advice and I dont think youll go wrong. I dont know the names of any other techs that work there besides him, though hes definitely not the *only* one who is good, I just cant say who anyone else is. Sorry!

Horrible place I tried to get my car into 3 different locations for a alignment and they always say we cant get it in bring it back in 2 days then when you go back they say they cant get it in. I should have known not to take me vehicle here after they told me to get rid of a vehicle that has since been running for more than 8 months, so I blame myself for the following incident.I took my vehicle here for a regular oil change at this location and upon picking up the vehicle, everything seemed fine. I woke up the next morning, after the car had sat all night, and I traveled about three-quarters of a mile from my house and the oil pressure light suddenly blinks on. This seemed odd since I had just gotten an oil change, so I pulled off to a gas station to check the oil level and it was empty. Not low - 100% EMPTY!I grabbed three quarts and filled it back up and called the Downtown Kansas City location to request a refund since the job wasnt done correctly. They denied me a refund, and told me that since I had driven the vehicle and put oil in it that they were no longer liable to correct whatever mistake that they had made.Now nearly to my office, I took it to a nearby Firestone to have a look and he informed me that the technician at Calverts technician did not remove the gasket from the previous oil filter which caused the oil to leak out. If it wasnt for my diligence I would have had a blown engine.I understand that mistakes happen, but if this had destroyed my car, I would have had no recourse, and not for any fault of my own. At the least they could have granted me a refund and at best they would have offered to fix any issues for free.BEWARE OF THIS SHOP! Attention to detail is something that cannot be overlooked when it comes to auto repair, especially when they say that they cant help when its 100% their fault.

The they were super nice and friendly but we had to take our truck back twice in the same day for the same issue to get it fixed, then about 2hrs later it started making the same noise that we initially brought it in for twice, so we had no choice but to find another mechanic on a Sunday to fix the problem smh....nice people but they just didnt fix our vehicle and we were out of about $700 from parts that they fixed that werent even the problem then still had to pay someone else for parts and labor bc calverts was closed Sunday and we were out of town

Run! You better off going to Valvoline for your oil changes. I got a coupon in the mail for a $16.99 conventional oil change. When I got there, I was told that my car requires a synthetic oil (which I’ve never gotten a synthetic because for a 2013 Nissan Altima I can use either one according to the owners manual). She then showed me the coupon on the back for the synthetic oil change which was $59.99... my total came out to $71.01. I asked how much would it be without the coupon and she told me the same cost. I said okay (thinking this is the first and last time I will come here). A mechanic came out and told me that 3 things were wrong with my car, one being my battery having corrosion. I made it aware that I’ve only had this battery for a month and it was brand new but if you say that there is I will take it back to Costco where I got it. He then back tracked his statement saying “well, it was just a little bit. They probably just didn’t wipe it down all the way”. (Speaking of which that battery was squeaky clean when I purchased it.) I then said I would have my family mechanic address the other concerns, in which he responded “oh, I didn’t know you have a mechanic in your family”. This place will try to get over on you, especially if you’re a female it seems! To avoid a headache and cashing out unnecessary money, avoid this place at all costs!

The manager on duty was not able to tell me where they were going to order my parts from (rotors) I requested my old parts be returned to me. They came out and told me they couldnt find my old parts. Then eventually found them. They would not honor the coupon for the free oil change with break service. I was the second person there and spent over 3 hours there!

I called to report a complaint about a replaced tire to a manager, and was told hes too busy to speak with me on Monday. The tire lost air the same day it was replaced last Saturday. There was no closure to seal in the air. Dont understand how a mechanic can change a tire, air the tire, but fail to add on the tire closure. And the for the amount spent on the tire, thats just ridiculous!

Even though they were the barer of costly news, I was glad I went there. I wasnt pressured into getting the repair. The mechanic explained what I needed. The only bad things were that when I called to see if I could just come by, the lady made it sound like they werent busy at all. I would be in and out. I would have appreciated it if she would have stayed there was a little over an hour wait. When they were finished and brought the paperwork to the desk, I was standing there. The lady cashiering was sitting down, playing on her phone. When she finally decided to get up, she said I was going to have to give her a minute. Seriously? Ive been waiting quite long enough already!

Firestone double booked me for my vehicle Inspection and they sent me here because they have vehicle inspectors that are here after 4 pm. I’m so happy that they did. Service was great I didn’t have to call I just walked in and the sweet woman at the front desk was very thorough and kind to me. Got my car dropped off to be serviced immediately. Would recommend this location for any car services you need!

Tires are incredibly overpriced and have no sort of warranty. They did however get me in last minute and the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was really nice. Called on a Saturday evening after work before 4 and asked if I could still come to get my oil changed before they closed at 5. A staff member said to come on in and it was no problem. Once i get there, a different staff member rudely turned me away even after I had been given the go ahead about a half hour before closing. I came back on Monday when they were open again and was estimated 45min for an oil change but actually waited an hour and a half. They give out good coupons but the customer service makes you want to pay a little more somewhere else.

Im changing my rating about Calvert on 15th and main I took my truck to get a oil change I was driving 2 days after getting my oil changed my oil light came on saying low oil so I pulled over and checked it and I didnt have a drop of oil in my truck I called them and was told that it would be 2 hour wait I will never go to that one again in life I put the 5q of oil in my truck and now I aint had no more problem with it so check your oil before leaving there

Was disappointed that the advertised brake special was $60 and I ended up paying $429 for brakes with a free oil change but they did not use full synthetic oil I requested.

They literally were a lifesaver for me. I was there in the middle of an ice storm... My windshield wipers were ripped by the ice while I was trying to drive and it was terrifying just trying to get downtown. Thank goodness they actually had a place that I could get windshield wipers then have them put on during the storm. However, I almost feel like I was taken advantage of because I have never heard of having to pay $70 for a simple pair of windshield wipers and having them put on. If there were an auto parts store, I would have just quick gone there and bought a pair of windshield wipers and had them put them on for free. But I was desperate. And I praise God they were there. The girl at the desk was very friendly. The guys in the back did some cussing and arguing a little bit but when the gal in the front went to let them know they could be heard by the customers, it stopped quickly

I dont know what these other people are talking about. Ive been there twice and both times have been great! Its right on the streetcar line so its super convenient to drop off your car and explore downtown or go home if you live in the area. The woman at the front desk is super nice and helpful. The first time was and oil change and state inspection and the second time was to patch a tire and fix my AC. They completed the tasks really fast and at a reasonable price and if they found other issues the call and tell you the price and ask if you want it fixed. Ive found Official dealerships way more of a rip-off than here. If you live downtown, it cant be beat.

I bought a car had I recently purchased in about a month ago to make sure that I had new brakes and a fresh oil change. I also requested that the car receive steering wheel fluid and for them to fix a back right brake light. I had went to Calverts many years ago with another car and didnt have any issues however this time was a completely different experience. The receptionist Lisa was absolutely wonderful thats the only reason why I gave a star she was phenomenal very helpful, informational and kind. Upon inspection I was told that I needed an additional rod because it was worn down and leaking brake fluid. I allowed the additional work. I paid over $700 for all the services, only to find out that my car which is a Hyundai sonata does not take steering wheel fluid it has power electric steering... Why did the mechanics not know this? Why was I charged for something that they did not do? I was offered a free oil change instead of the refund which was about $12. Now Im finding out that my brake light has never been fixed upon being pulled over... I was charged for this service as well even though it never happened! Im very worried now that my brakes have not been done and that I was ripped off and told that an additional piece needed to be fixed... This is absolutely sad that someone comes and spends their hard-earned money with a company just to be ripped off and lied to by dishonest mechanics. Im not 100% sure that the business actually knows what is happening or maybe they do. Im reporting to the better business bureau, Im also going to have my car inspected to make sure that the rest of the services were done in my car if they were not Im strongly considering a lawsuit. False practices! This is absolutely not okay!

The Culvers on 15th and main is great staff great just that when they ordered the parts from the warehouse in North Kansas City took a little bit too long that needs to get a little bit better when customers are waiting for there car...
