Jim and his crew screened in our back porch earlier this year. The price was very reasonable and right within our budget. We were very impressed with the quality of the finished product and very pleased the crew was able to get it completed in just one day. Would definitely recommend this company if you are looking for great quality for an affordable price.

My wife and I researched several local companies and choose North Florida Leisure for our lanai screening. Value, Service and Product are all first class. The attention to detail and overall product are perfect. We are thrilled with the result and the value of the service. You may have to wait a week or so to get on their calendar, however, it is well worth the wait for such an important home improvement.

This review was a 1 star due to the following: Nice patio, but since August 6th 2021we have had problems getting 2 leaks fixed, Jim has told us were on the schedule for a particular day but no one shows up. we try calling, but his phone system is full and cant leave a voice message, have sent text message and the response is if my guys can get here I ask for him to contact us when his guys will show up and the response is I will try. that was on 9/9/2021. As of 9/14/2021 I have revised to a 4 star: the above incident has been resolved. Jim has responded and sent his guys out to fix the leaks, will have to wait for a good rain storm in order to see if the leaks have been addressed. Jerrold & his son were very courteous and informed me of their process. but stated they did not have the proper industrial roof tape so they went to Lowes to get tape. It is unfortunate that myself & Jim had this incident, but it is water under the bridge now. Jim and his company do stand behind their workmanship warranty. it did take me to contact him after a week of not hearing from him, but got on schedule for Wednesday 10/13

This company has wonderful people & the owner is very knowledgeable in many fields. My screen enclosure has new screens & they fixed my leaking roof, thanks to Jims expertise! Its like new!!!! It was a pleasure dealing with people that have not forgot about customer service and quality work. 5 stars is all they would let me give, but this is a company I will use again & deserve 10 stars!!! 2 years ago I got my back porch done. Loved it!They contacted my HOA for me to get permission to do an add on to my house, easy process.I just got my front porch done and the process was no different and neither was the quality.Excellent.I had a slight issue with the door but within a few days Jim came by himself to fix it, I appreciate that.Ezra was the guy who put in both my front and back porch, both jobs only took 2 days to complete.Great guyThe payment arrangement was reasonable.I highly recommend their work!

I just had a screen enclosure for my back patio for my home. Working with Jim was a great experience throughout. The estimate was very easy and convenient and Jim had great communication which is huge for me. He offered friendly service with his expertise without the pressure selling I experienced with other companies. The guys who installed were friendly, precise, and took their time while installing like that cared about how it would looked or as if was for their personal home. He was also affordable. Mr. Jim Couturier and his staff repaired my Florida Room patio style roof paneling alignment and a few leaks in two roof panel seams. I had an issue with squirrels getting trapped in the vertical beams of an enclosure that was built by the previous owners of the home I just bought. Receipts were left by the previous owner and I contacted Jim because it was his company who built the beautiful enclosure and explained the situation I was having.He sent a team who inspected the beams and made caps to cover all of the vertical beams surrounding the enclosure, which was built years before and by the previous owner. He did not charge me for any of the work and now I have a squirrel proof pool enclosure. Cant thank Jim enough and his employees for standing by his work and ensuring that I too was satisfied as much as the previous owner with his pool enclosure.

BUYER BEWARE....failed to apply/provide county permit. Was promised and was annotated on contract that permit will be provided. Work was started without it and concrete footers were not inspected before concrete pour. We kept asking about permit and was told everything is fine. 2 months later verified with county that permit was not pulled, I cancelled the contract.

North Florida Leisure completed some repairs to my sunroom, and I am very satisfied with the results. When I purchased my home last year, the sunroom had some minor issues. Jim and his team:* Sealed the gaps between the windows and the aluminum frame.* Installed new door hardware so that the door would stay closed/latched without having to be locked.*Touched up the paint on the door (it now looks like a new door).* Added some trim/flashing to cover some sloppy work by the installer (the original installation was not done by North Florida Leisure).* Installed a sleeve on the door frame to repair and hide a crack in the original frame.I hope to work with Jim again in the future to complete some additional projects on my list. I would never hire this company. They never finished my project they started last May and now its January he ignored my phone calls and never showed up for work and when they did they were unprofessional and didnt complete anything. But they kept asking for the next check to get paid so finally they stopped coming all together he did tell me he was going broke and didnt have money to finish the project he was using my money to pay his people to work on other projects. So he did tell me that if I bought all the materials he would finish the outdoor kitchen free no labor cost well he never did and its still not done but he did get 20,000 $ of my money and there alot of things not done or need to be fixed .dont hire them they are horrible.

Jim was awesome! He had us set up with a great crew in Eric, Luis, Ezra and Donte. Our porch is on the small side and took only 2 days as they estimated. We were surprised when we called for a quote that we could get a composite roof that allows us to walk on it and we saw 3 of the 4 guys of the crew on top of it at the same time. Everyone involved showed the highest level of professionalism and enthusiasm on sight and were also courteous when speaking with us. Writing this Overdue review in the midst of a crazy month in a half since our patio cover was completed but I wanted to say that working with Jim and his fantastic crew was truly a pleasure. They did wonderful work, were kind and diligent and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better company to have this done. Needed repair work to an existing sunroom that was leaking, he came out found the issue and showed us it was an easy fix we could do ourselves, and sure enough it was. Appreciate his honesty and that he didn’t want take advantage and charge for something so simple. Highly recommend!

Jim and north florida leisure is a poor choice for building a screen room. In july i entered into a contract for them to update my screen room enclosure to a florida room with glass windows. As part of this agreement they collected several thousand dollars upfront and will replace the windows, doors, and framing. 4 months later they installed the sliding glass door and did no additional work. Additionally they destroyed my trim for my sliding door. Trying to contact jim the owner about this job is next to impossible as he refuses to answer calls or reply to text.

North Florida Leisure, Inc glassed in our porch, sealed it and repaired/replaced the seal on a really large stationary window over two years ago. The seals have endured heavy storms and relentless heat. Wed been battling this using simple maintenence people. Nothing worked until we called them. It has saved so much worry and has extended the life of a very expensive window. Weve since bought another townhome with same issue. North Florida is who we call. They are courteous, professional, and get the job done right.

If I could give negative stars I would. This project has been going on since January 15 2020. Jim repeatedly promises to get work done and never shows up, very evasive when it comes to getting the materials for the project. I still have no windows, no kneewall, no door, the roof is not finished being shingled, we have had interior damage due to poor workmanship. We have had to pay other companies to fix the issues. After paying $23,636 all we have is a concrete slab, metal framing, a roof that is attached to our house. Stay away from this company.

I had North Florida Leisure add a sun room to the back of my house a month ago. I absolutely love it. I am enjoying it much more than i thought I would. Im sitting out in it as I write this review. Called and left a voicemail with my name and number stated twice, very clearly. (Not to mention caller id) on Saturday. They were closed. I tried calling again Monday but the call did not go through. Three business days later and still no response.UPDATE: Jim Coutier called me twice, back to back, after i left this review. He then texted me asking me to remove this review with screenshots of him calling me today to prove he tried (i guess). I am completely understanding of the fact that we are all human and there is a deadly virus going around currently. But when it comes down to it, when I am at work I am expected to treat the customers like they keep my business afloat (because they do 🤯). So, when I am the customer I expect nothing less. Maybe others are okay dishing out thousands to companies that respond this way but I stand by my review. For whatever this is worth 🤷🏼‍♀️ now that i refuse to take down my review regarding my personal experience with Jim and his company he is threatening legal action. My screenshots of this encounter can be found by searching this companys name on Facebook or looking at his Yelp reviews. I am hoping to save someone else the trouble of having this kind of uncalled for experience.

Jim and his team came to our new home and screened in our outside deck. They did the installation in a timely manner and they were very professional and knowledgeable. We hired North Florida Leisure to install a screen on our back patio and it looks fantastic! Jim was a pleasure to deal with, giving us a detailed estimate for the cost and an accurate time frame on when the job would be finished. He also handled all the paperwork for permits and permission from our homeowners association. Ezra did excellent work on the installation. He wouldve finished in one day if not for the ever-present lightning storms we have almost daily in Jacksonville. He came back and finished the next day. North Florida Leisure installed my screen room 4 years ago. To this day Jim holds up his end of the warranty and has replaced my screens when they tore at the base. There was some delay due to the weather and the pandemic has not been kind to construction. Thank you again, Jim.

Eric and Ezra did a great job screening in our back porch. They are very friendly and professional. When we called back for a minor adjustment they came out right away to correct the problem. I had to hire an attorney to get the job finished.I signed a contract with North Florida Leisure on 11/8/2018 for a sunroom addition. Soon after, Jim Couturier seldom returned phone calls, voice mails, or text messages, sometimes for weeks at a time. Communication was so bad and so little work was done that in June, 2019, I had to hire an attorney to try to get him to complete work.Once I hired an attorney, work resumed.Soon after, the foreman (Eric) told me in person that the company ran into financial trouble and they didn’t have the money to purchase materials even though I had already made my second and third payments on 1/22/2019 and 3/14/2019. I agreed to make an additional payment on June 24, 2019 to get the job going again. Now, the roof leaks. They were out 4 times to fix these leaks and each time they came, nothing whatsoever was fixed. The roof still leaks inside and out.I contacted the manufacture of the roofing and skylight panels and explained the issue I was having, and sent some pictures and videos. His response was, “Some conversations I read mentioned replacing with a 4” roof panels??? In the video I can see they are 4” thick… If yes, then that’s a problem because those skylights are designed to mate with a 3” thick panels”. The roof panels are indeed 4 panels.Indeed, when I was refining my contract with Jim, I mentioned that other bids had 4” roof panels and he volunteered that he could (and did) install 4” panels.After months of having a leaky roof that they were unable to fix, I requested that he remove the skylights. Initially he refused then later he agreed. On 10/17/2019, Jim said the new roof panels were in and that he had inspected them and they were ok, and that he’d give me a few days notice on when he could install them. That day never came.On 11/6/2019 he confirmed that he would be here on 11/9/2019. On the morning or 11/9/2019 I contacted Jim and at 8:19 am he replied and confirmed he was heading my way shortly. Once again, he was a no show.On 11/12/2019, Jim sent me an email in which he asked for more attempts to fix the leaks. He wrote, “I have reviewed the engineering and determined that panels are installed properly…”, and that, “if I am unable to remedy the problem after three additional attempts I will replace the skylights at my expense”.I replied with, “How can you have properly engineered skylights, manufactured by the same company that provided the regular roofing panels, and you ‘…determined that panels are installed properly’, and there still be leaks? This makes no sense. If the product is not defective, and the install was done correctly, there would be no leaks”.Since this project had gone on for **over 1 year** and I was eager to have it completed, I wrote that I would agree to his request if, 1) all three of his attempts are within the span of 3 weeks, 2) a thorough hose test that simulates the conditions under which the roof leaks, be done, 3) I am present while he attempts repairs, 4) If he doesn’t show up then that counts as one of his three tries, 5) if the leaks still persist after 3 attempts that the roof panels must be repaired the following week, 6) I will not be liable for any expenses incurred for roof panel replacement.I replied to his email with a thorough response and included my attorney on this correspondence. I confirmed my attorney received my reply (and Jim’s original letter) but I never heard back from Jim.In January, 2020, I filed paperwork with the city to become my own contractor so the job’s final inspection could occur, since the work had actually been completed. I had to pay additional fees since the permits North Florida Leisure got already expired.Roof still leaks. I got the wrong doors installed. Need to paint the house wall as concrete was splattered and not cleaned up. There were other issues but none as bad as a roof that leaks.

I picked this company to screen in our back porch because they had great reviews. Let me say they have exceeded their reputation! They were very professional and on time when they promised to be here. And they stayed and finished the job. I’ve had companies do work for me that started the job and then left for a week or two so I’m pretty sure they were starting many jobs at once just to ensure they had the work. But not North Florida Leisure. They came and they stayed. The men that did the work were very kind and patient to my four year old autistic grandson. He was fascinated with them and their tools and they were very gentle with him. They put up with our German shepherd pup driving them nuts. Best of all, that same pup tore the screen out of the door and they came back and fixed it at NO CHARGE! As far as I’m concerned, I will never use another company for anything they are qualified to do. We are very satisfied and would give them ten stars if we could. Great job, Jim and the guys!

Jim and his staff did an excellent job building my screen room. I like the way he does his pricing with three selections and I immediately committed to him building my screen room. The price was great and the service was good. It took a little bit longer than usual for completion due to the rain and external circumstances but we are pleased with the final product. Now we have a sun room and a separate scree room and we will certainly call him next summer when we start building our outdoor patio.

Had Jims crew replace a old and storm damaged pool enclosure screen. Price was in in line with other quotes we had (little better as we were ready to go when offer made) and work was great. He entertained a couple of bad ideas we had, didnt criticize just gave us some honest opinion on what it would be like and gave us the quote we asked for, not blowing past those options. Steered us right and very happy with end job.

Even when there was a miscommunication on door placement it was made right. To re-screen my patio was no different and I was pleased when Jim called me back quickly and said he could probably do the job on Mon or Tue - I called on a Fri. Monday came around and no call. I checked (via text) with him around noon on Monday - no response. Checked again at the end of Monday - no response. I am going with another company.

My patio was damaged during Hurricane Irma and my insurance company wouldnt pay until they could get some specific building code information. I had no idea how to go about getting this. I made a call to North Florida Leisure and explained my situation. The owner immediately understood what they were needing, and we set an appointment to meet. When we met I was very impressed with his product, pricing, knowledge, and friendliness. He explained everything cleary and answered all of my questions. He put me at ease. He worked directly with my insurance company and satisfied all their requests. He stayed in close contact, and as soon as I got the insurance claim settlement he quickly scheduled in my patio work. Every one of his builders were careful, courteous, and did an excellent job building back my patio. It was finished very quickly, and is even way better than my old one. Great experience and value. Jim and his assistant came out to give an estimate and less than three weeks later everything was installed. I had to get approval from my HOA for the job and once that hurdle was jumped I was scheduled for a few days later. The crew that came out was extremely professional and courteous. They made sure to explain the warranty and go over any questions before they left. I would absolutely go with them again!

We were in the Market for a screenroom. Did a Home Advisor search and found North Florida Leisure. After searching the web for possible designs, I came up with a unique design. The other companies that quotes the job tried to change my vision. Not Jim, his response was, I can do that. Now I have a wonderful addition with all of the extras. People tell me it looks like this was always here. Oh I cant forget to mention Keith. Keith kept my project going and informed us at each step. In love with my room. Not only did they show up on the same day that we called them for an estimate but when we told them what we had in mind for our back porch remodel, Jim (the owner), gave us some friendly suggestions on what he thought we should do. We were blown away with the outcome and most importantly the price. They did such an amazing job that my neighbor also hired them for a new screen room build.

Jim, the owner is great to work with. Even though the hurricane interrupted the work schedules, he was always in contact to let us know about delays. His crew that installed our screened porch, Keith and Mike, was a pleasure to be around and did a quality job. It was the little details that made the difference. Ernest and crew that laid the pad did a great job. Thanks again Jim.

Jim built a wonderful room for us at Fernandina Beach in 2002. Since that time we have moved and he has installed new windows and a new roof on our present lanai. Jim and his crew do fantastic work at a great price. I recommend North Florida Leisure over all of his competition.

Jim came out recently and fixed a problem for me with my roof that turned out not to be related at all to the sun room that he did for us. He still fixed it at no charge. Did I mention that he did our sunroom 5 or 6 years ago? Yeah! Who does that? Call him! You wont regret it! Larry M

I contacted Jim about a small job I needed done but the problem was I needed it done right away. I had wasted too much time waiting on return phone calls from other companies. I text him a couple pictures and got the price and the job was done the next day. If thats not great customer service tell me what is. I will use again in the near future and highly recommended this company. Thanks again!

We were impressed with Jim at North Florida Leisure when he came to give us our estimate. He listened to what we wanted, gave great suggestions that we hadn’t thought of, and included everything we asked for in his written estimate – there were no hidden fees. He managed the entire project – permits, electrical, HOA approval, everything. That was a huge bonus because some of the other companies we checked with were not willing to take on those responsibilities. The project was started and finished on schedule, the yard was cleaned up at the end of each day, and his employees were courteous and respectful. Recently our dog tried to smash through one of the screen panels in her haste to chase after a hawk. The screening ripped out a bit on one side. I called Jim and he came out the very next day to fix it. We have had an excellent experience with North Florida Leisure and would highly recommend them.

Jim and his crew did a great job on the initial screening of my back porch, and did another quick and well done job when needing a repair. They are sometimes difficult to get ahold of, but are affordable and do good work.

North Florida Leisure gave our old sun room a true facelift. It looks beautiful and the price was very reasonable.

We had a patio and roof installed and everything was done in the end and it looks nice from afar. However would i use this company again? unfortunately no. The company lacks in terms of customer communication and finish work. I was supplemented with a discount in the end for my troubles which I appreciate. Our project was put off for weeks after being half started. Some of the problems no one could control which i understand, however most of the time it seemed like my project was put last or forgotten which made it drag out. I had to constantly be on top of all the guys doing the labor and details as well as Jim the contractor, and most of the time what I talked to Jim about wouldnt get passed onto the guys working and vice versa. The guys left cigarette butts all over the yard and metal scraps which i had to pick up myself. I had high hopes reading all the other reviews about this company but unfortunately my experience was different.

At first there was an extenuating circumstance that delayed the quote. Jim personally came out to the property to give the quote. It was fair and reasonable. Honest and professional.

Started job in Jan. still need doors x 2 and a window for a porch, this is July 29th , what do you think! A little off schedule Id would understandable. The Crew is extremely nice. Jim does not talk to me, if I call to try to get job completed he only text. He has said he was coming numerous time, the only time IVE seen him to collect the original fee Roof on the porch still leaks. The crew will say they are coming and dont show up ! Wish I had seen Sean Coan review when I was looking to have this project done. Unfortunately it had not been written. Hope this saves someone else the headaches Ive been through.

Jim did a great job with my new screen room despite many complications with my old house, spending extra hours to make sure things were done right. He was very professional, but also very hard working, and did a quality job. I liked the fact that he was the one on site, and not a crew of young strangers. Jim even did extra things for us which were not in the quote, yet he felt would enhance the appearance of the room. I knew that we had made a great choice, and would wholeheartedly recommend North Florida Leisure to anyone. What really sealed the deal, was even after I paid the final check, and the room was complete, Jim followed through on a last extra finishing piece at no cost to me, because he said he would do it. In my opinion North Florida Leisure is top notch.

North Florida Leisure rescreened and re vinyled my screened patio. The price Jim quoted me was outstanding for the work that i needed done. The outside kick plate was also repainted. I have already referred Jim to a friend and I will not hesitate to refer him to anyone looking for a brand new patio or a fresher look for an existing screen room. The crew (Keith and Eric) was professional, and was easy to work with.

Jim and his folks are AMAZING! (I tried to post a gorgeously written review yesterday but it didnt work from the iPad so forgive the generalities in the re-try.) Within 24 hours of calling him, hed done all the work Id needed completed-and THEN SOME! All I had to do was text him photos of the problems and measure the existing door. The screen door he put in is fabulous and there were other little complaints that I had about pre-existing doors in our outdoor area that he was able to fix-I had given up hope. He also replaced the hardware on another existing door. They were super fast, professional, courteous, and we will be recommending them to all of our friends and neighbors.

Im sorry to say but I would never hire Jim again or refer to anyone I know as I have had a terrible experience with communication. I had a patio cover installed a few months back and while the patio cover is nice and meets my needs, it took forever to be finished. Everytime I contacted Jim to get an update all I received were excuses regarding material and workers. While I understand things are unknown you shouldnt start a job without having the materials ordered or on hand. Dealt with multiple leaks and took forever to get someone out to fix and finally after about 3 texts and people coming out Ive given up. Luckily I still have my gutters so that take care of the problem. Unfortunately now Im dealing with the fact the permit wasnt submitted correctly and needs additional paperwork. Ive been trying to get this resolved for about 60 days with nothing other than excuses about hiring a new girl and now there is more paperwork that has to be completed. I would highly recommend you look into this as it is public data on coj website to ensure this has been done for your home. The only reason I found out was because my new contractor for windows and siding pointed it out to me. I am so fed up with Jim and the process. Ive hesitated to write this review since I want these issues resolved but feel like I need to warn individuals of the poor professionalism and customer service.
