Complete five star rating. I was blown away by the service, professionalism, courteousness, and concern, by the staff of the store.We had a major breakdown as we were traveling in passing through Jacksonville. Our front wheel fell off as we were crossing the Dane Port Bridge. This is a travelers worst nightmare, being in a strange city and your only source of transportation will not work at all. We were at the mercy of the people around us.I asked some of the local people where would be a good place to get my van fixed and they recommended the Dunn Street Pep Boys. I called and spoke to Lee and he said that have the tow truck bring it in and he would get right to it.By the time we were able to get a tow truck to tow us to the store, it was almost closing time and the store was very busy. In a very short amount of time he analyzed what was wrong with my van, gave me an estimate, and told me that it could be fixed by noon the next day.Lee was very sympathetic to our situation. He fix my van very promptly. And for a very fair price. He did everything he could to take care of us.The entire staff for the store was very good to us, but Lee deserves a shout out because he went truly over and above to try and take care of us.I would recommend the store to anybody local or passing through.

Lee looked at my tires and found the problem walked me through store to show me tires. Ordered the tires said he would call me and did very timely. Showed me that my tires had dry rot with one being split! He gave me a great price on set of four.I’ve been in sales for 32 years and if people would just do their job and care like Lee we would be so much better off. Take care of Lee and keep him there are not many like him!

I WAS a long time pep boys services and tires customer, BUT not anymore. I called 3 times to service an oil change and get a set of tires, only to be put on hold for 10+ minutes (by then I had driven there). Then the “customer service representative” gives attitude and hen told of the concerns, “well I’m here by myself, what do you want?” NEVER AGAIN WILL I PATRONIZE PEP BOYS.

Korey was excellent in customer service. The integrity of parts prices need some work.. There is only ones cash register and the space is very crowded and unkept. There are absolutely no sanitation practices in place. The bottle of sanitizer is being neglected. No PPE usage by any of the staff.They language between customers and clients needs work. I witnessed an OVERLY AGGRESSIVE client/employee interaction. Customer service training is imperative. They were nice to me because Im nice to people everywhere I go. However, they were not nice to everyone present.

The last time I had an oil change I went to a pep boys location off of Atlantic. I got great service, they squeezed me in between other customers, finished the job quickly and gave me great, helpful information. I spent $34 that day. So when it came time for another oil change I decided to go to pep boys againThis time to the Dunn Avenue location. When I came in, right on time for my appointment, I had to wait to be checked in because the man who works the service counter had walked across the street to buy cigarettes. When he did come back, he told me they were going to have to finish unloading their truck before they could work on my car. So after all is said and done, the oil change was quick, about an hour. I told the man in the very beginning that I had a twenty dollar coupon, when my car was finished somehow the cost was $62 and some change, AFTER the twenty dollar coupon. I dont understand how, for the exact same service and with $20 in savings I got charged almost double what I had previously paid. Im currently looking for my receipt from the previous visit at Atlantic, after I can locate it I will be calling corporate to try to find out how I got price gouged at this location. Quite frankly its bulls*** and I will NEVER be going to this location again.UPDATEAfter calling corporate I got a call the next day while I was at work. I missed the call and had to call back...three times. I waited on hold for ten minutes or more each time. Eventually I spoke with Glynn who explained over and over again that they put the right oil in my car and the other location put the wrong oil in my car. He said they are not allowed to use just any oil...well apparently the other guys did. I got refunded the difference of the two oil changes but seeing how I dont know who did right and who did wrong Im going to just take pep boys off my list all together. Ill happily go elsewhere with my business if they cant get their s*** straight.

Seriously thank you so much Rebecca S for having extremely outstanding customer service u made the bad experience I had coming there completely turn around. She has such a good spirit and helped me out so much and is the main reason I will be returning!!! As for Lee Rogers thank you as well thank you guys for working on my car and doing so well. Thank you for even helping out a bit extra so I don’t have to worry about more trouble down the road. Coming into the store the assistant manager is rude to me but Ms. Rebecca was really nice and very very helpful she should be the assistant manager and the assistant manager they have now needs to go back into training. The other workers that I came in contact with were nice as well. The assistant manager that is working today 9-15-2020@ 11:00 am. I’ve been trying to hear his name but I can’t he has on a blue Acura shirt and some black pants. I sat in the back lobby for 15 minutes he didn’t even look my way until Rebecca came and helped me.

I set an appointment for new tires a few days ago. I got a confirmation email saying I was set to go, assuming my four tires would be ready for me on my appointment day. Only two of the tires were available and it was suggested o wait a few hours for the other two to get shipped from another store! Whats the point of setting an appointment if I would still have to wait because parts are not at the store? Three days is more than enough time to have parts that the customer needs at the store. Highly upset and will be taking my business elsewhere!

This was the worst customer service I’ve experienced. When I came in Bill or William H assumed I was someone else rudely asked me “what did the dealership say?” Knowing he wasn’t talking to me I waited then then he yelled again telling me I came in earlier about a seatbelt I told him no not me. After that told him what I was coming in for and tried to provide him with codes ran on my engine given to me by a mechanic that suggested I come here. He then gets upset and asks what do I want him to do? And then starts asking me if I know where the issues are and what the exact problems are as if I was trying to act like I knew everything and to belittle me. I’ve read the reviews about rude service at this location and believe it’s the same person causing the issue

This is by far the worst service Ive ever received... would someone please explain to me how it is possible to take your vehicle to be serviced spend $722 and have it come out running worse than it did when it went in... only to have the shop manager to insult my intelligence by telling me that they needed to run a diagnostic test to find out what they did wrong to my vehicle that would cost me a $100.... and then pay them again for whatever problem they deemed to have found.... These people are total rip-off artist... do yourself a favor and find some other reputable repair shop to go to this place is certainly not it

I had a very bad experience! I am very unhappy with the service. Had to wait several days to get my car serviced. The front desk representative In the maintenance and repair shop is a compulsive liar. She told me they changed my oil when they didn’t. When I got my car back from them after paying $600 dollars I noticed something hanging from under my car there shouldn’t be anything hanging from under my car after I have payed $600 dollars and they didn’t change the oil after telling me they did. Very bad experience and unsatisfied customer.

Thanks Rebecca and Lee on making good on your promise to get me in and out right away. My appt was for 5pm on Friday but no tire. Someone forgot to order it. So back I drove 25 miles, each way, on Saturday afternoon after the truck delivered the tire. Thanks for making the inconvenience from being a total disaster. Will come back.

On the way home from a long road trip my drivers side tire ripped! We pulled in to the closest shop & Mike helped us out. He was VERY knowledgeable & helped figure out what tire we needed, different price points to choose from & friendly service the whole time. Thanks Mike and all the guys at Pep Boys! We had to get our front brake pads replaced after driving down from Ontario, and these guys were super friendly and fast. Didnt pressure us into doing the rotors when we said we didnt want to. Great experience overall!

Dummies told me my oil plug was stripped by the last people that did my oil change which was pep boys different location. They told me this after an hour goes by. Went to other location this am they said plug wasn’t stripped and showed me. They said the other location wasn’t using the right tool. And 2 technicians tried it yesterday. DUMMIES

I arrived two days before Christmas 20 minutes before closing to see about getting a tire repaired. As it turned out I had a nail in my tred, so I had to get a new tire. With that said, the staff here at the Dunn Ave. Pep Boys not only got right on it, but never once made me feel like an imposition. Mike and Alex were courteous, efficient and the level of customer service I received exceeded my expectations. They made my safety a priority and I look forward to coming back here for any and all service needs, as well as sending others I know here for their car needs too. A huge thank you to Mike and Alex for being so awesome and getting me back on the road, safe and sound. Great service! Billy was the service adviser, I came in for tires on my truck. Good price buy 3 get one free, Had the exact tire I wanted in stock, competitors did not, would have taken 3 days anywhere else. Inspection found a bad hub bearing, which they also had in stock and was able to repair while it was on the rack. Service adviser kept me informed during the whole process and took me back to the bay to show and explain the problem. Technician was knowledgeable and worked efficiently while I watched and waited from the customer waiting area where I could see the entire work bay. Billy was very patient with me while I carefully reviewed the work order and receipt which was a little confusing because it broke out every little detail. Thank you for addressing my concerns and answering ALL my questions. Only problem was a crying baby for a while in the waiting area, poor mother, but what place does not have one of those? Thanks Pep Boys, Ill be back.

So my car was running hot and I was super scared and nervous because my car is fairly new, so I didn’t know what could possibly be the issue?? I pull into the nearest auto shop I could find on google maps and it was pep boys on Dunn ave. I was greeted by smiling faces along with the Manager “Mike” everyone was so kind, professional, and understanding as I am kind of a stereotypical girl that knows nothing about cars! My car had close to no coolant and they fixed me right up very quickly, without judgement! I will always come back to this shop for my car care and needs.

I went here yesterday after my wife hit a pothole and my front end was shaking. It was Sunday and late in the afternoon and they were the only place open that I can get in. I show up ask them to check the balance on my front tires and the alignment on my front tires. They came back said that was fine but my back tires were bad and that was causing my shaking. So they change them I leave not even a mile away the shaking returns. I turn around and went back now they want to tell me my front tires are bad after you just told me that the back tires are the cause and my front tires are new from another tire place less than 6 months old. they also informed me that when my car was in there the first time they did not check the balance on my tires and they did not check the alignment on my tires. These were the two main reasons I came in and what I wanted done and they didnt even perform that but told me they did. After I heard this I told them to put my car down and Ill just call corporate. Then the self-proclaimed manager there said to me and I quote I can put your busted ass tires back on and give you a refund. At that point I became irate, told them yes do that and then I called corporate. I did file a complaint and am expecting a phone call from the district manager at some point today. I would not recommend these people to anybody if you care about your safety. They wanted to sell me anything and everything they could even though it did not fix the main issue that I came in for. You dont treat people like this you dont talk to people like this and you should never take advantage of people like this. No Im not a mechanic but I saw all you were trying to do was sell me anything and everything because you thought I was clueless. I might be Clueless to what is the main cause going on on my car but Im not clueless when it comes to these games and as soon as I saw it I put it into it. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves even though I know you wont and dont care.

I took my car in on Sunday morning,  7/24/2016. We were on our way up from Miami to North Georgia. We were about 5 hours into the trip when I stopped to put gas and heard my car making an awful grinding noise. It looked like my left brake pad was missing a bolt and it was resting on the rim! I made it to Jacksonville and took it to Pep Boys 1105 Dunn Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32218. I wish I lived in Jacksonville or the gentleman that helped me worked at a Pep Boys near me! So I can take my car to them when I need to. They were so helpful, going above and beyond in customer service. I have three kids,  one is special needs, so they didnt want to delay the trip more than it already was. Glenn (the manager) looked for the part I needed and did not give up so he could get me back on the road as soon as possible. The mechanic Victor Dell Hager took my car in immediately and confirmed the issue and assisted searching for the part,  once it was found he put it together and gave my car a quick inspection to make sure there was nothing else. Which good thing he did because the bolt of the other brake was loose, so he tightened it. One more thing came up but it was taken care of quickly as well. Im so grateful for all their help, patience and determination! I highly recommend stopping by this location if you live in the area or if youre on a trip, definitely make your way there for whatever car issue that needs to be taken car of!

Went for brakes and oil change. Doris at the front desk and the rest of the staff were Great! The guy doing the labor actually took me out to my car and explained what i needed and why. That was important to me being a woman. I felt like they were not trying to get over on me. I like that they want you to see what the problem is. The only thing is that I waited for two hours but I ended up getting rotors and brakes and an oil change so Im sure thats the reason why it took so long. Will go back!

DO NOT bring your car here if your repair is covered under WARRANTY. We should have known when the customer in front of us was demanding his car back after waiting so long for repairs to be done under warranty. Almost a week later, we ended up doing the same thing. Took it to another shop and our repairs were fully done under warranty in 2 days.

Just tried to charge me $775 just for radiator and fan install an hour job for $775 total rip off I got a better price from the manufacturer I will never bring a vehicle here again I was told the cooling system diagnostic would tell me why my car ran hot they need to charge me $1006 for parts and labor to see if thats the problem.. what a joke

This place was great, I waited for about an hour or so, but I came in on a whim on a Sunday so this was expected. I always feel like Im going to get conned whenever I get my car worked on, this place took my car in and did the job (oil/filter change). They didnt try to sell me anything (which I can understand if something really needs to be replaced so they can at least bring it to the attention of the owner) so I didnt feel pressured into buying anything. My car isnt leaking oil down the road like it was after I went for an oil change at W**mart. They even fixed a loose cover on the bottom of my car that was scraping against the road anytime my car dipped a few inches while driving. Thanks guys!

Made an online 6pm appt for 1 tire. Upon arrival, I was told online appt dont show up (Yet they have them? ) and it would be at least an 1 hour and 45 mins. Not knowing they close in 2 hours, I gave the guy my info and left. After no call that service was complete I have my wife take me to pick up the car only to find the store closed and my car with new tire installed in the parking lot. Not to mention I might have left my wallet in the car. Of course the next morning, no one knows their co workers names, likenesses, or why I wasnt notified about completion of service. This place couldnt give me FREE SERVICE. Shop at your own risk.

Brought my car in and found out that my radiator blew. I knew that I also needed two new tires so I told them to go ahead and take care of both issues. After everythings done Stan says he got the price down to $916 for me. I say cool (idk if its a deal or not just needed my car fixed). Drive it across the street to Publix and Im hearing a weird flapping sound so I turn it around and give the keys back to Stan. He passes the car off to be fixed then conveniently disappears. Someone fixes it (Something about the weight too long on the tire (??) I leave. I get a call on Monday saying I need to come back because some sort of clamps to block the transmission fluid or something were left on. I get there after work, no one is there that can help me. They say come back in the morning. I come back, Stan is at the desk again. I give him the key, he talks to the mechanic then once again conveniently disappears without telling me whats going to be done. The mechanic did apologize afterward, sort of, mostly just nervous laughed and made light of it. Im a nice person, I didnt cause a scene, I just felt that for potentially jeopardizing my safety, TWICE, Stan or whoever the manager was at the time could have made a better apology to my face instead of avoiding talking to me.

The 3 cashiers would walk off while speaking. The manager rolled her eyes and huffed as I questioned why they did that to me. The one cashier told me to go online and purchase tires so I could get the quote online. I did so he then said they didn’t have those tires and wouldn’t have them for 3 days. Then the price went up 80$. I left and came back, the fee then went up an additional 17.00 then what was quoted the second time. I got home and received a call that my car was ready. I picked my car up prior to that, no goodbye or anything, they just hung up in my face. I had to take my car to tire kingdom this am to get proper air in my tires as one was put in with 27lbs. This is the WORST customer service ever!!!

Horrible service! If I could put zero stars, I would! I received a brake recall letter in the mail and brought my car and the letter to this location to have new brakes put on. I called an hour after I dropped my car off to receive an update and ask when a good time would be to pick up my car. The guy on the phone then preceded to ask why my car was there in the 1st place (mind you, I explained all this at time of drop off) and to let me know that my car hasnt even been looked at. I assumed after that conversation that my car was going to be worked on or at least assessed. An hour and 45 minutes passed and I received a call from Pep boys. I thought that they were calling me to let me know my car was finished and that I can come pick it up. Instead, a man asked me for the 3rd time what service I needed done to my car (3 & 1/2 hrs after I dropped it off!). By then, I was heated that my car had been sitting in the parking lot for 3 & 1/2 hours without even being touched and at the fact that I had to explain my situation 3 times to 3 different people. I was told I had to reschedule an appointment and went to the store to retrieve my vehicle. Upon going inside the store and speaking with the store manager, I was told that it was my fault that my car was not worked on, despite the fact that I told the staff what my car needed on numerous occasions! The manager didnt take any responsibility for the fact that his team did not communicate effectively nor did he try to understand my frustrations. This is a horrible store with horrible customer service, and I do not recommend that anyone get their vehicle serviced here.

***Charged more than 100$ than quoted****This week I brought in my vehicle for an oil change (Penzoil synthetic and fuel system (step-2 cleaning)). The prices online for these two services online total to 84.98. I was never given a written statement, or an estimate to sign authorizing service when I handed my keys over to the service advisor, but he did verbally tell me the services would cost 95.67$I dropped my vehicle off at 12:00, the scheduled appointment time and waited in the store for the service to be completed. The vehicle was completed at 2:43pm. Nearly 3 hours for an oil change and fuel system flush seems a little long compared to other shops I have visited.I applaud the service advisor for apologizing for the delay in completing the work and he was polite.The total amount for work completed... 190.54$..NEARLY 100$ MORE THAN QUOTED!!!!! This is unsatisfactory, and as a new resident to Jax, will be looking for a different shop to take my 3 vehicles to.

Last night my family including my 2 children were stuck at the gate gas station on dunn ave due to a overheating issue. 20 min before pep boys was scheduled to close a employee by the name of jason answered the phone when i called. I didnt know what the name of the part i needed was all i could do was try to explain and describe. We turned up empty handed and Jason and i got off the phone knowing i would never make it there in time walking down dunn ave. 5 min later Jason pulled up next to me at the gate gas station. He felt terrible about my situation and came and picked me up took me to pep boys so i could purchase what i needed before they closed and then took me back. He went way beyond the call of duty for me and my family and i am eternally grateful to him for that. Thanks

Dunn ave location. Went in for a simple diagnostic test around 5:30 after i got off work yesterday but guy claimed their technician went home for the day when you dont close until 8:00. This place had rude employees not to mention bad service anytime i come. I would rather go to a dealership. #lastvisit #neveragain #cancelled

Blond hair associate that does general check in for quotes is incompetent and lacks people skills. Said to look at my car would be 79.99...really hun?...its 20 bucks ...thats Pep Boys 101. Try again Miss...please get additional training as its needed. I will never visit this location again and you shouldnt either!

Dropped my car off for an oil change, they closed early an left my car unlocked without calling to notify me. Causing me to get fired from missing work that night an not getting my car back until they opened the next day. Very disappointed 🤬

Ive been doing some research on tires and heard a lot of good things about Pep Boys. After running some errands on the north side of town and feeling my tires shake all day I came across one of your stores on Dunn Avenue. I decided to go in and see what they had to offer. I was greeted by the employees at the desk, Amanda came over and asked how she could help me. I told her I was interested in tires. She took me out to my vehicle and looked it over with me, she found I was in need of tires pretty badly. She went over some offers that Pep Boys had and sold me on four denifinty tires and a alignment. She told me she could have the work done in two hours, she immediately got my truck in the shop R.T. was the mechanic he showed me the alignment sheet and let me know that this was the problem of the shaking was due to the tire wear. After the work was completed I cashed out with Amanda she explained my warranty and the price was exactly what I anticipated. Thank you Pep Boys for great service you have earned a customer for life!
