Great club. Good family environment. Specializes in offshore fishing meetings, seminars, events. Also has inshore fishing events as well. Great asset to the fishing community and people of all ages to be involved with our local fishing.

Fishing talk. Dinner at the meetings. Guest speakers. Whats not to like? This club walks the walk and has done so over 40 years. If you caught a fish off Jacksonville this club in some way helped it happen. Good group of people who will gladly let you join in.

Made great friends and have learned alot in the year Ive been there. The food is always good, And the raffles every meeting are amazing. Best $40 a year you could spend.

Went to the JOSFC meeting last night. Clam chowder night! Yum, yum.I havent been to my Alma Mata in months and months. But a cold, rainy night made for a perfect night to attend.There was a election in October, so the reigns had been passed on again. So, as a long time member. I pay attention to the details.The club house was packed. And the evenings emphasis was on a raffle to generate funds for a family in need. And indeed the membership stepped up.Last count was $3000 plus dollars in just a few hours. (thats more than all my bills for 2 months! Wonder if they could hold another raffle for really poor fishing guides named Dave?)So many faces have changed. But theres still a few members that were members 25 years ago, in attendance. Good ole Capt. George Strait (of Miss Mayport & Mayport Princess of local party boat fame) was there, to say a few words. A few words he did. Which was, unlike him. But he did start off with a good joke. I was a bit surprised that it was 10 years ago when he was club president. Wow, does time fly!One change I noticed and was very surprised about, was the clubs President asking everyone to stand, face our U.S. flag, a repeat the Pledge of Allegiance.I couldnt have been more impressed.
