Quited one price on phone another price when dropping off block and head buy time they got through the bill was 5 times more with shoddy work metal shavens left in block really over priced and poor quality.

One Star is to good for this place, totally trying to screw my 18yr old son, same ole story that the other reviews are telling, trying to scam more money because their motor failed, (twice) a complete rebuild, wish I would have seen these reviews before paying these idiots. First they wanted $400 to remove oil pan to inspect bearings, that took 2 weeks, now thats not going to be enough, they want to give us an estimate to pull the motor, not happening, theyll never work on anything of mine

I took my car to Precision Machine Service to have my engine rebuilt. Mike and Mark were both very professional and I felt well informed throughout the entire process. Although the rebuild took longer than expected.... sometimes you just cant rush perfection. I got my car back and have been simply thrilled with everything. These guys really know what their doing. I would recommend them to anyone looking for extensive engine repair or rebuild in Jacksonville.

Had a really great experience with these guys they re-built My Mitsubishi turbo eclipse and for an amazing price which was unbeatable. I called around the city before I took my car to them and got good endorsements because I seen a few of the bad reviews and I had the owner sit down with me and verify what was going on with every single one of these bad reviews and they really were honest about every situation and I could tell that they weren’t BS’in me. All these bad reviews are about is just people that simply can’t afford to fix the cars that they have or the amount of work that needs to be done it’s just not financially feasible or the parts don’t exist anymore or they brought somebody else’s jacked up work to them and they weren’t able to help them. If there was a second where I felt like I couldn’t trust these guys there would’ve been no way I would’ve left my car with them but everything they explained to me was very understandable and made a lot of sense and the prices elsewhere was really expensive. They will be fully honest with you about everything even if it makes you mad because you can’t afford it or if they can’t get the parts or if they don’t want to do it. They are definitely not in the business to crank people up for unnecessary stuff because the build they did on my Mitsubishi was an amazing price, I was shocked and they are my number one mechanic now. Thanks Mark and Mike you guys are great. 🙏😆🤝

Well I wish I had read the reviews before I took my business there, they talked a good game until you take your engine there, they promised one week, its been four weeks now and still waiting for my engine, once they get the deposit its a different story, if I ever get it back I will never go there again, I will update later on the outcome, still waiting..☹☹☹........Update on 5-10-2018.....Well I got my engine back on 5-7-2018 looks like they did a good job, having it installed back in my vehicle now, will see how it goes from there, I will give them three stars for now, I understand things go wrong with getting parts, but my biggest problem is not being informed about whats going on, I think if they kept the customer up to date people would not get so upset, at least I would not...so we will see how it runs in a few days and update again, hopefully I can upgrade my review to a 4 star 😐😐.......update on 5-26-2018.....Okay I have my engine installed and so far its doing a great job, seems like they did an awesome job on remanufacturing the engine, so as promised I will upgrade this review to a 4 star.So if you are not in a big rush they will do a great job, I just wish they would have kept me more informed about whats was going on instead of me having to call and wonder what was going on, but through it all I am a man of my words so i am up grading my review to a 4 star...good job Mark and Mike..🙂🙂

What can I say amazing service and price. Mark and the crew really took care of me they charged me half of what the dealership wanted and did twice the work. My Jeep runs like new , I would recomend to anyone who wants a honest mechanic and a fair price!!

These people talk a good game. Remove cylinder heads after 6000 miles valve job was leaking carbon build up in the chambers was unbelievable and to boot they only did a 2 way valve job my lawn mower has a better valve job than this ... These people have been in business for a long time I dont know how they get away with it. A very dissatisfied customer! Dont let them touch your hemi heads!!!

They did a rebuild of the motor in my wifes 91 pontiac sunbird convertible. Excellent workmanship and courteous service. Yes she still drives it nearly every day.

Edit - 1 Year after my first post. Please note that the authors of the positive reviews of this business have left 2 or fewer reviews. Their writing style is very similar. They appear fake. These people are seriously dishonest.Summary : They are dishonest, greedy, incompetent, arrogant and will leave you stranded without a car for months without any sign of an apology. Avoid them at all cost.I brought my car to Precision Machining as my car needed an engine. They quoted me $3000 and 5 to 10 days. I love my car so I gave them a $1500 deposit.2 Weeks later they called me and said they wanted another $2000 or I could have it back in pieces and that my deposit was already spent. Really ? The estimate was $2000 low and I was out $1500 if I didn’t like it ?!? Reluctantly I agreed. No apologies were forthcoming.3 weeks later they finally delivered my car. It lasted 2 or 3 weeks and just 300 miles before it fell apart and needed yet another rebuild. No apologies were forthcoming.5 more weeks later they deliver my car again. They want yet another $300 in spite if the fact that I was under warranty and I never approved any more expenses. They say If I don’t pay they’re keeping my car. It reeks of burning oil but they insist it’s just leftover oil from the rebuild and it’ll be fine. It wasn’t fine. They’d poorly installed some gaskets. She’s also leaking coolant. After a long weekend she goes back to the shop for a third round of repairs. No apologies were forthcoming.2 weeks later they want yet another $400 but I refuse. They can keep the car as far as I’m concerned but they give her back after I call their bluff. The car still leaks oil. $5500 and she consumes oil like she has 150,000 miles on her already. No apologies were forthcoming.Summary : They are dishonest, greedy, incompetent, arrogant and will leave you stranded without a car for months without any sign of an apology. Avoid them at all cost.

Was not impressed. Quoted 1 price to do valves, by the time they finished with me could have had the whole motor done elsewhere. Motor had 2 bad exhaust valves. All in all, the valve job they did ran about 10 hours on my boat before dropping a valve. And took about a month to do. Writing this review couple years later because have another project and am searching for a good machine shop. It will not be precision.

Rebuilt Cummins diesel in my landscaping work truck, got me back to work. Much more cost effective than buying a new truck, I can say Im more than satisfied.

Fantastic service, and very professional. Full engine replace/rebuild for Dodge Ram Hemi. Priced far less than a dealer, and full machine shop work done in house.

Great shop they now what there doing but be patient LoL. Got my 03 Cobra mustang engine rebuild by them and they did a terrific job!

If you get your engine rebuilt here, it will cost more than a crate engine, and more than the estimate. When they put it back together, they will charge you to put in new hoses (way more than youd pay a regular mechanic) instead of the old ones they take out. SHADY!!!

My rating! Precision doesnt even deserve a star. This machine shops service is far below the ratings of phone, cable or satellite service providers...and thats bad! I was told 7-10 business days for the machining of a block, head and crankshaft. mmm...not so much. The guy in the front office, not Mark, stumbled and bumbled his way through articulating my service requests. Should have been a warning sign right there.They required a 50% down payment. No problem, I paid them In Full, up front, to perform the work correctly and as stated. I called several times to get a status update. The guy that answered the phone really had no clue what was going on. Everytime he would say he had to go check and would return my call. He would never call back, I always had to call him back after an hour.One day, I called and he said oh yeah, they are boring your block out right now as we speak.4-days later I called back to see what the status was. As usual, I was told that I gotta go find out whats been done, Ill call you back. Of course, no call back. I called an hour later and the owner, Mark answered the phone . He said, Oh yeah (of course he remembered me I paid in-full up-front), we need to know how much you want the block bored over? I was floored!!!!BECAUSE....last week the front office bafoon told me my block WAS BEING BORED AS WE SPEAK, now MARK just told me they had no clue as to what size I wanted the block bored over. Which is all BS, because the bafoon did a work order right in front of me and my son with all the specifics and came up with the costs, and I paid him.Now if Precision knew whose block it was, why didnt they call to get a refresher on my service requests?? Because they are liars and have the most absolute worst level of customer service!!!! The left does not know what the right is doing and they constantly scramble to cover their A$$E$!!Going to pick-up my stuff and take it to a shop that has their $hit together and can get the job done without lies and BS!!!

Do not take anything here paid way to much for everything had block supposed to be cleaned got it back still with grease and dirt on block not even clean and also the head was not cleaned all the way halfass cleaned in order to do the work and block was honed and there was scratches straight up and down the cylinders this machine shop is not needed to be in business very displeased with services
