I had an erroneous collection agency notice, that Better Business Bureau helped me resolve with very little effort. I did not want to provide the collection agency with any more of my information, because their claim was in error in the first place. Using BBB as an intermediary helped me communicate with the collection agency without disclosing my information to them. They realized they were seeking to collect from someone other than me and updated their records. Im very happy with the service BBB provided!

BBB Helped Me Resolve an Issue with Arlington Toyota Finance Dept.I purchased a new car from Arlington Toyota and wanted to pay cash. However the men in the Finance Dept there make commissions off of generating new loans for Southeast Toyota. So they forced me into taking out a loan if I wanted to take the car home within the next 4 days. I was from out of town and agreed only if there were no early prepayment penalties. I was assured that there would not be any prepayment penalties and of course when I got my first paperwork from Southeast Toyota, there was a $75 charge for early prepayment and another $88 in interest for the first month. I was also told I would not have to make a payment for 90 days. They left out the part about how the interest was accruing for that 90 days, from the minute you drive off the lot.BBB helped me to recoup the $163 that I was charged after they lied to me about the cost associated with early repayment of the loan. Thank you BBB for helping to fight back against these high pressure salesmen and their tricks.

I filed a complaint against ERC (collection agency) for continually calling my cellphone from various numbers without leaving a message. There was no debt to be collected but they had my number associated with a case either by mistake or given to them by someone. As soon as my complaint was filed through the BBB the calls stopped and shortly after a response was obtained that stated they would no longer call my number. Thanks to the BBB for being a consumer advocate (even if I wasnt a consumer of ERC) and thanks for such a speedy and efficient way to solve an issue with a company.

We were having difficulty getting a fair hearing of our complaint against Le Creuset over their “lifetime” warranty of our cookware until BBB got involved. Le Creuset initially said our cookware was covered and then revoked this acknowledgment of warranty coverage and discarded our cookware into the “garbage”. After BBB contacted the business on our behalf, Le Creuset responded immediately, replaced the cookware and the complaint was resolved quickly to our complete satisfaction.

I was having difficulty with my moving company. I reached out with a complaint to the BBB and within a week I had received a call from the company wishing to resolve my issue. The process of filing a complaint was very easy with the BBB and they responded immediately that the complaint was heard. I received a second email from them with a follow-up after the company had been contacted. They did an excellent job of helping me satisfactorily resolve my complaint.

I really appreciate the work the BBB of Northeast Florida did on my complaint! I had trouble because I ordered a gift card from nbastore.com on August 18, and by Sept. 4, it still hadnt arrived. Customer service was giving me the run-around after a number of calls, neither reissuing a gift card nor refunding my money. There was also no package tracking number nor any evidence of the cards being sent.Almost as soon as I contacted the BBB, a complaint was sent to the company and my credit card was given a refund. The BBB was fast and communicated with me well. I truly appreciate the work the BBB of Northeast Florida did on this, and that I could easily get redress from this agency.I was finally able to get a gift card to my best friends son for his graduation, quite a bit late, but this time from amazon.com.

I can’t thank enough Ms. Diane and the BBB of Northeast Florida (Jacksonville, FL) for their help in mediating a situation that I had with a business. They followed up on the complaint and with me. They also, were concerned. Consumers definitely need this type of organization to help with disputes. While there are good companies in the world, there are also wicked greed-based companies like, what I was dealing with. People are so money hungry, provide poor customer service and care less about how they treat people as the company was that I had a serious problem with. If it weren’t for good BBB’s a lot of people would be in serious distress over bad business practices. My last step was to contact the attorney general regarding this company’s actions. Not only are they able to cut to the chase, narrow down the issues, and home in on the culpable business entities who have caused you pain (in this day and age, during an era of multiple shell companies, corporate behemoths hiding rogue employees, multi-national gargantuan tech companies using sub-par staff, this is no easy task).BBB Northeast Florida headed by such stars as Destiny Asaro deftly and nimbly grasps and takes charge of enormous complex and complicated fact patterns, digs in like a pit-bull, and never lets go until and unless their clients and customers get the satisfaction and resolution that they deserve.Furthermore in this day and age of mass government corruption, disinterest, cronyism, and collusion by and between various States Attorneys General, useless Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation, taxpayer-sucking lame entities like the Federal Trade Commission, or other stupid federal and states Office of Inspectors General, shining stars like the Better Business Bureau, headed up by luminaries such as Destiny Asaro, keep this country and its customers safe and protected.

I am simply a Florida Citizen and as such I look for the least confrontational avenue to resolve an issue when one arises, as in this case. Although the business, I engaged through the BBB of NE FL, didnt see my filing as what it was after I pointed out how as a service connected veteran they seemed to be a bit more understanding.Im not going to mention the business that I engaged through the local BBB, the BBB is subject of this review, but suffice it to say I made a substantial purchase in Jacksonville. Drove a distance across the state to retrieve what I bought. Then discovered matters covered by warranty after I made it home they have since been fixed and resolved as far as it goes with that local business.But this local BBB has kept me abreast of matters, promptly notifying me of any and all responses right up until the end. Sure I would expect no less from the local chapter of such a prestigious organization and they did so delivered. But we cannot stress it enough the BBB is merely a venue whereby the parties maybe able to find a fair and/or equitable avenue toward an amicable resolution which at the end of the day benefits all because if I drove that far to begin with that in and of itself should speak volumes as I could not help with nor did I cause the issues that became apparent when unloading the cargo upon my arrival back home maybe that merchant felt my pain cause at the end of the day I wouldnt have a problem recommended either the BBB of NE FL or that merchant to someone I cared about.Be well and thanks to all that make BBB the place to resolve what once looked like a mess.

When you feel like you caught between a ROCK and a HARD PLACE, dont fret, you have BBB of Northeast Florida. I made the report on a one day, my case was settled the next. I cannot say that this will be in all cases, but I can say that this was my case. I cannot thank BBB enough. You have made a gigantic difference in my life, THANK YOU. Making out the report was easy. I followed the instructions online and it was very simple. Once I hit send, I knew that a response was coming but I didnt know it would be so soon. I received my email right away and I felt confident that things would be done. Leaving things in your (BBB) hands I knew it would be settled. The BBB got a resolve that I have worked 3 months to get. The company I had an issue with, I have called and complained to the company location their corporate location and it continued to get me nowhere. The company I was having an issue with refused to either take a return or refund my money for their miscommunication. I emailed the BBB and within 2 weeks I ended up getting a refund. I truely appreciate the work that the BBB did to get me a resolve. I highly recommend if you are getting nowhere with a company reach out to the BBB to get a resolve! Im impressed with the timely response I received from the vender after contacting BBB. Prior to contacting BBB, I contacted the vender at least 7 times and was given appointments 3 times, but none were kept by the vender. After contacting BBB I called the vender and was given an appointment that very same day which was kept and hopefully the problem has been resolved. Thank You!!

I highly recommend BBB! If you have a company that is not willing to help you call BBB and they will take care of you.I almost lost 14k with a company that wasnt willing to help me relocate my house form one community to another community even though it was the same builder. When I spoke to managers of the company allI received was NO were unable to transfer you. I was told If I canceled I will lose 14k or if I relocate the community I will still lose 14k. I was crying for a week. I called back and spoke to different sales people and I was told that theyve seen it happen but yet couldnt do it for me. I was so upset and asked to speak to an upper management and they refused to give me phone numbers. I wrote an email to BBB because I dint know what else to do. In a few days that company called and had me come to the office they transferred me to the other community with no problem. I did not lose a penny and it was because of BBB. I recommend BBB to everyone!!!! I just wanted to say thank you soooooooo much for your help. your company placed a big smile and Joy on my face!!!!!!

Dear Destiny Asaro: ( 8/27/19 )Even though I accepted the response from St Augustine Appliance and Refrigerator Service, they have yet to actually follow through on issuing a refund. On 8/21/19, the company claimed that they would issue an immediate refund and they have yet to do so. The BBB of Northeast Florida has given me the confidence, however, to know that I am not alone in pursuing companies that do not treat individuals fairly. Thank you for everything and I will file a new complaint, if St Augustine Appliance and Refrigerator never complies.

I am not sure how the government continues to allow this scam disguised as the better business bureau to operate. They have chapters all over the country and have somehow manager to put for this facade that they are the place to go to let your voice me heard. You have to PAY them for accreditation to get an A+ rating otherwise you can only get an A. Wow.... this is an illegal practice of pay for play. Shut these chapters down. The people now have a real voice with social platforms like Google reviews and Yelp. Stop the BBB scam!

It is wonderful to have an organization like BBB available to the consumer. An individual having a problem with a company does not have many resources for problem resolution.The electrical company tried to charge me for 1-1/2 hour travel time when travel time was never mentioned in the phone estimate given me. When I protested, they immediately threatened with law suit and collection bureaus, claimed I refused to pay the bill when I only refused to pay for an extra, unexpected and unreasonable $150.00.Only when BBB became involved was the company willing to even talk to me. Without the public records kept by BBB about a companys mistreatment of a customer, I probably would have had to go to court, time-consuming and expensive.My complaint was settled but only because of BBBs assistance.

I am grateful that the Florida BBB helped me recover over $800 in overcharges from a car rental. My review is on Safe Touch Security Systems. We had a system installed in 2003 decided to upgrade this year. When Safe Touch came to install the new system the Technician was indifferent to our home (broke a figurine) when he removed their old panel it created a large 10 inch b7 12 inch hole in our wall which Safe Touch Security Systems refuses to repair. I would never recommend this company.

For anyone depending on a review from the Northeast Florida Chapter of the BBB, dont bother. This is a company who acclaims to start with trust which is a complete joke. The staff at BBB are so corrupt, they cyber bully, they lie and they do what they want without any justification. Anyone looking for reviews can easily go onto Yelp, Google even your local chamber of commerce. You will get an honest response. BBB of Northeast Florida conducts itself with fake facts to manipulate and cyber bully a business. Especially if you are a member and then resign. Their Chapter President who allows his employees to conduct themselves unethically and refuses to be accountable for their actions. Barbara Anderson (Operations), she lies and she makes up fake facts to manipulate a position. Any business that has great reviews anywhere and everywhere and then has a low grade with BBB, this is a perfect example of their cyber extortion, makes sense, right.

Within just days of contacting BBB regarding Icard gift card, the Icard company finally (after multiple attempts from me) issued me the gift card I had paid for several months ago. I have no doubt that I never would have seen this if the BBB had not intervened. Communication from BBB was very interactive through email. I am so pleased and thankful for the BBB. We just purchased a maintenance contract through Ideal Conditions. Jim Brinkman was the technician that serviced our AC/Heating unit. Jim was very thorough and explained what he was doing and checking as he did his work. He explained what I should do monthly to help keep the unit in good working order. I have had my unit serviced by another company in the past, but they did not do as thorough job as Jim Brinkman did. I highly recommend Ideal Conditions for service or maintenance work.

RE: Dick Gores RV World, Jacksonville, FL: On 4/5/2018, I offered a $500.00 deposit on a used RV while out of State; which I clearly stated was contingent upon my visual inspection and approval of the unit. Dick Gore immediately confiscated and deposited my $500.00 which was six days prior to my returning to Florida. Upon inspecting the unit, I learned the price had been grossly inflated by more than $3,600.00 above the average retail price. I offered a lower price which I felt was consistent with the true market value and never heard from Dick Gore nor his salesperson - Andrea Chandler. Perhaps this manner of an underhanded operation explains the F rating by the BBB on Dick Gores RV World. Buyer Beware !!

100% SCAM - Cyber Extortion. Small businesses, dont waste $600+ annually on this scam, your return on investment would be zero (take it from someone who has done it). I agree with the reviews that have said BBB of NE FL is a total scam. I created a review of my negative experience with a company, which unbeknownst to me was sent directly to said company for review. Of course they immediately denied my experience ever happened and amazingly they were somehow allowed to decline the posting of my review (I received an email saying so, with their commentary). I called BBB to ask what exactly was going on, and was asked to provide proof of my interaction with the company, which I did, but I was thereafter completely ignored. I have reached out no fewer than half a dozen times in as many months to see what’s happening with my complaint and have received zero response. It’s very clear to me now that BBB of NE FL is a “pay for play” scam and is not to be trusted in the least. What a sham(e).

I paid $3500 for Garages2Envy to do my garage floor with their garage floor commercial application...heres the result...and the sad thing is its covered under warranty but they will not stand behind their work. I had to file a complaint down for the third time and they keep disregarding my complaint and closing it out when I have not had restitution yet from a business called Aspen dental that stole money from me Im very disgusted by both these businesses and their practices, unhelpful, untrustworthy, shady business.

I have used BBB twice. The first time I received my money back from a dentist that overcharged and did not want to refund my money due . They bent over backward for me. The second time was an insurance company and I was told it could take 30 days for them to respond. The insurance company lied as far as I was concerned, but the BBB explained the law that protects them. People that file complaints are NOT all deadbeats just as not all companies doing business with the BBB crooks. Thank you.

I would give zero stars if it were an option. The BBB is a biased service that caters to business that pay for the BBBs favor. They reporting and files are completely unreliable. There are much better places to evaluate a business you are considering. The BBB is obsolete and will soon be extinct.

The bbb continues two review my business dishonesty. Specifically April Harrison I have sent here over five emails in that last two months she has not responded once kind of a hypocrite if you ask me I also let messages for her superior Jim and ya you guessed it no response. They continue two try and make connections Between me and other contractors with poor reputations. When I’m fact no complaints against me or me or my business made by actual customer claim my work is done by any other company thank my own. Of course all this started when we stoped paying them. Our opinion is this the bbb is a business only in it for the money. they are one sided and dishonest at best. Here are some of the bbb customers complaints and reviewsWe also had an A rating till we stopped paying. 410 Blanding Blvd suite 6B Orange Park 32073Dr Banks is the absolute worst Dentist .Stay clear . Has the personality of a Rock . Treats his staff like Dirt in front in front of customers, my issues were poor Dental work. , had 5 crowns put in to prep for bridges, drinking only soup 2 came off, 1broke as they were to thin due to not cutting teeth down enough, when the asst told him they needed cut down more , he replied make it work so temp crowns had holes in top cause so thin . As Dentist Banks about pain meds as sat in his chair 7 hrs , he told me don’t need any after trying to pull a tooth for 30 mins as well as all the needles and other work, embarrass me as made it seem like I’m a druggie , i told him i wanted just in case , he replied you don’t need them , i said how do you know what i need ? I said you know what , Forget it, he said ok and went home at 4 , never checked asst Work as he is supposed to . This guy is very intervert and does not know how to deal with people , i paid 6087.00 dollars in advance for a crown and bridges , none have had a impression done yet . I just got the 2- crowns put back on and the girl aske him to trim the tooth so temp would fit , his response, I’m not doing it make it work , i talk to him he then told me we are not a good fit will call Office to refund some money and i can move on, sooo that will try to make me pay for these bad temp crowns. .NOT ! I’ve called the Board of Dentistry, my attorney and disputed all charges . Everything they did i had to get fixed . The Office girls are great , Dentist Banks is in the wrong buisness. They can Refund me or i will infact take to court and recover more for time , pain and suffering. Stay away from them. You will regret.
