The staff is nice and the YMCA does good things in the community. The building is old and needs some updating

I enjoy my contacts with the staff and enjoy the cleanliness of the facility.

I have been apart of the YMCA family for most of my life. Great place for the Jackson Community. Also Im excited for the new building to go up.

Management tried to interfere with a journalist on the public sidewalk. They have no respect for the first amendment.

Over $550 per year for a membership PLUS extra for certain classes is absolutely ludicrous. I just moved back to Jackson and wanted to go to the Y because I used to love it when I went as a teen/young adult but I cant justify spending that much money.

Wish they had maybe some advanced, more mobile, resistance machines & wish there were showers with curtains for a little more privacy. I also wish they were open later sometimes lol. Just some thoughts. Most of the people have been awesome by the way too 😎🧘‍♂️💃💪

I give it two stars because it gives my kid a place to do things for the winter. The price is going up for the new year and I cant see why. It is going up to $65 or $66 for a family. The place is very much the same as it was 25 years ago. Many parts of the building have not been updated. Other parts have clearly been done by poor quality contractors. The gym equipment is in rough shape as well. Locker rooms are the same. They may do a lot for the community, and thats great. It would also be great to do something for the people keepingyour doors open. Oh, I also got a letter asking for donations today because they cant afford to pay all the minimum wage employees with the rate going up this year. Cute.

I signed up for a swimming class at my local YMCA. My first day of class our instructor told us to get in the shallow in and get wet. Our instructor then gave us life vest and was told to them jump off the diving board into the deep end and swim. I Went first and jumped into the water. MY LIFE VEST HAD HOLES IN IT I immediately sunk to the bottom screaming for my life, 6.9 seconds away from my death. The instructor dove under. Think he was going to save me. He held my head underwater forcing me to swim. He then started choking me under water and punching me. I took his vest off and floated to the top after I kicked him in the elbow. I swam as fast as I could on of the pool and ran for my life. I am currently suing the YMCA.

I attend several classes here. The people that work here are like family. Totally unjugemental. I try to be here at least three times a week....its been a great retirement gift, I give to myself...

Facility is really outdated and felt a little unsafe in the parking lot at night with my infant. Front desk isnt well organized. Waited awhile just to speak with someone about which way to go for a class. I know they are doing great things for the community though.

My daughter has been at the Y the summer of 2015. She loved it. It is a great way to adventure around parts of Michigan.

The YMCA is an excellent (and often underrated) part of the Jackson community. Numerous opportunities for fitness and recreation are offered for a very attractive price. There are various exercise classes, swim lessons, pick-up basketball, racquetball, rock climbing, an indoor track, a fairly well-equipped exercise machine room, and on-site child care. The staff are universally friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the programs and facilities. The building is open into the evening, so you can get your workout in after work.Additionally, the YMCA supports the community in various ways, including an annual Turkey Trot race on Thanksgiving Day. In my opinion, the Y is well worth supporting with your patronage, even though it does not have the most cutting-edge equipment or fanciest building. It is a great member of the community and provides amazing value to its members.

I have used the YMCA before but I like to get back in and help myself with more weight and exercise more and its hot tub

I appreciate that a smaller city like Jackson has a YMCA. You cant find something like this just anywhere. The people that work there are friendly. We use it all the time and I am glad we have it.

The facility is comprehensive including 2 pools, gyms, basketball, running track, classes, workout equipment, free weights, racquetball and squash courts, babysitting service, and large locker rooms with steamroom and sauna. What more could anyone ask for at a very reasonable price.

It is only surviving because because it is the only workout area in the city limits of jackson. The facilities are starting to show its age. The fees are the highest in the area. The support staff is paid minimum wage. The fact that it is located three blocks from two different police departments scares me a bit. Their parking lot is completely enclosed with no gates except for the North side. I could go through everything that is negative but it fits the neighborhood and city.

THIS CHARITY IS A DISGRACE to include the name of Christian in its name. They have zero regard for Judeo/Christian principles and will terminate the employment of any person who actually obeys Scripture. They are more worried about their appearance to the world and the moneys generated from their fellowship with it. They willfully exploit the name of Christ to raise exorbitant funds to cater to those of privilege. No Christian should support this secular business that nullifies the very teachings of Christ and hides behind a fallacy of being a charity.

Ive always liked going there. The equipment was clean and almost always working. The staff is very nice.

Used to come here as a kid on Tuesdays​ after school. Ive been told that it is still a good place with good kids programs.

The best all around place to work out, socialize and find happy people in Jackson.

It. Has a great gym area connected to the upstairs gym if your child has gymnastics you can work out while they do they thing but i hate the the track the basketball players are too loud other then that its awesome with a nice staff

Terrible experience never can use the pool because their having some class its rediculace to pay that much for a membership that you cant use because you have to work around their schedule
