Good storage unit, but there were a lot of bugs

The new manager is really nice. Provides great customer service. Had a great experience at Northgate storage. Would recommend them to anyone.

We found a lot of our things have been destroyed by mice!!! No where Ive ever rented for storage has ever had such a problem!!

Affordable and professional! We had a climate controlled unit with my moms house hold goods for almost 3 years. The price only went up 5 dollars once the whole time. Convenient and nice staff.

Great people polite and courteous service excellent place

The only thing that was easy was setting up my storage unit. Literally everything else was wrong. I rented a U-Haul truck, confirmed multiple times that it would be available, then the day that I went to pick it up it took over an hour to get because Tony didnt know her log in to the U-Haul site. Once I finally got the truck, I returned it the next day but when I received by bill they had charged me for 3 days instead of two. John made the process of the refund easy. I was out of the storage unit before the end of the month and left the door up a quarter of the way as instructed yet was charged for another month. Tony has no idea what she is doing. Ask for John or someone else. Also the security gate doesnt work well. There were multiple times where I went to my unit only to find the door, where you have to have a special code to get in, was wide open and anyone could drive into to take stuff from any of the units. This was during the weekends and late afternoon when there was no staff there so there was no reason for it to be open. Tony made this a 2 star review. Everyone else seems to know what they are doing.

Their offices are good. Sometimes Ive had to clean up before I can use the building but other than that, its a good price. If you have a business and dont want to work from home, this is a great tax write off.

I have been gone 6 months and was told the gate breaks often but theyre having someone fix it. Still broken. And the climate control door is still without a door handle and lock after being told they had someone to fix it soon. So the only thing protecting peoples stuff is just the locks they buy.

It was an excellent experience the people behind the counter were extremely courteous and made me feel at home really nice for a change they were very helpful and got me in and out quickly if Im ever in the area I will go by there again and rent thank you for having people like that behind the counter for me. Whats a rip it off

I have rented from this facility four times over the last few years and every time has been a great experience the team at Northgate is on it! I will forever use them. If Ive had a question it gets answered , A concern they are quick to deal with it. Thank you once again for everything..Shawn

I have rented many storage units over the years at Northgate Storage. I have never had any complains or concerns with this facility. Their rates are very reasonable and the grounds are clean. They take pride in their business. Thanks for always providing great service and UHAUL!

I have dealt with John and Troy a few times for U-Haul. I have had a very pleasant experience each and every time!. Whether they have the truck I need or not, they have gone out of their way to make sure that what I need is taking care of. The trucks are clean and ready for me on time I never have to wait. We needed a Uhaul and Unit for an emergency move. Called and talked to John and Troy and they stayed to wait for us for 45 minutes until we could get there. We have used them before and will not go anywhere else! The service is #1, the facility is clean and secure and most of all, they were willing to go out of their way to assist!!!

Great guys in there we talked like we knew eachother for years

I am currently storing a vehicle with NG storage they have been a pleasure to work with. Its a breath of fresh air to have a company actually care about what they do, and make sure my car is safe.

The storage itself may be okay, however, a business is a business! No one cares if youre on vacation or if youre just not going into the office for the day. If people are paying, and especially a storage that doesnt prorate, at least somebody should be in the office taking the rent! Not everyone has access to the internet at all times! Without a doubt, the worst storage facility I have ever dealt with in any state!

John was very helpful an knowledgeable about this bsn the place was clean trucks nice an was greeted rt off the bat something you dont get often. John was a huge help an i would say hes a keeper an a very very good asset to this company. If i had just one of john in my company he would be my vp great job john sutton see you next time i need a truck or storage for my customers.

From J.L.M. Management, in response to Ms. McTizics comments. Our company took over management of Northgate Self-Storage in October 2012. We were hired to get this facility operating properly. When we began to examine delinquent accounts we discovered the previous management was not accessing the proper late fees as set forth by the Tennessee Storage Guidelines. When we began to access the proper fees, certain people were not too happy about it. No one was ever charged any fees other than fees they should be for being late with their contracted rent. The payment due date and late fees are clearly specified in the contracts when they moved in. If you dont intend to pay your bills on time for something you rent then dont rent it. This facility is running better than it has, due in no small part to those people who write these kind of sour grape reviews moving out. As a matter of fact if a renter is in default, their gate code is removed and access to the facility is denied until the rent is brought current. (also part of the Tennessee laws) This facility has never been broken into and for the record each customer supplies their own lock and management does not have keys to open them. The only time we open a unit is when we are forced to remove a lock to photograph the contents for auctioning off the unit. (we do not enter the unit and it is secured with a Red lock) Your movers were given a utility code to move out your belongings. That code is changed monthly. Northgate Self-Storage is a Self Storage facility and as such it is not necessary to have someone on site at all times. (we do forward the office phone to our cell phone when we are not there) The new trend for a lot of facilities is to not have any management on site at all, calls go to a call center, and we are on call 24-7 and are available to meet our clients at any reasonable time. It is not our desire to make anyone look bad but simply to offer the other side of this issue. We deeply regret having to respond to this in this way simply because some people are not adult enough to tell the entire story or pay their bills on time.

The owners are fabulous people and the rates are great! We’ve used them for close to a year now.

My unit had a large leak in the roof. The items I stored were saturated by rain and almost entirely destroyed.Edit: I was in contact with your office both yesterday and today. if I am not in the system, it is because I moved out a few days ago.

After looking for local places to store belongings we found northgate storage which was reasonaly priced. Rented for almost a year and it was one of the worst experinces ive ever had with a business. Being charged extra fees on a few occasions, not only did the keycode not work, it was easy for outside people to get in. How do i know? After having people to move my things for me (since I moved out of state) they were able to get in/out without using my keycode (because mine didnt work)! Not only that but a mirror that was stored was broken while in storage. How does that happen if no one has access? Business hours were tenative on a regular basis. In my opinion they should be paying the public to use this place rather the public having to pay for service like this. I will NOT be using Northgate Storage again. Do yourself a favor and pay a little extra for good service.
