Best in town. Very honest, quick, and reliable. Went to two other mechanics before being referred to AAMCO. Will, the Manager/Owner helped me out and got me back on the road when no other place could. Repair was relatively inexpensive without sacrificing quality. Highly recommend.

We (a group of 6 women) were hundreds of miles from home on vacation. We began having transmission problems halfway to our destination. The co-owner did not hesitate to check out our vehicle and give his professional opinion. He gave advice as he would have his own family member; for this we were extremely grateful.

I have taken my truck to their business twice in the past two months trying to diagnose a problem that I thought was my transmission. They have evaluated my truck and even determined the trouble codes at no charge. Will Arnold has gone above and beyond and even recommended another business to fix the problem. We called the day before and were told to come up the next day. We got there at 8 after being told to come in after 7.30. There were 5 cars ahead of us and they said it would take hours for us to be seen. They also said if we left, we would lose our place in line. They refused to call us or put us in line or anyrhingnof the sort. Also, their facilities were broken at the time, so even if we wanted to wait ... thats not happening. He was calm and generally courteous (Will), but why exact cant we set appointments or be called when there is an availability?

Will and his team did a great job. I was quoted $8000+ by the local dealer, which said that the entire drivetrain of my SUV needed to be replaced (transmission, front and rear differentials). I took it to AAMCO for a second opinion. They tested it, drove it, examined it on the lift in the shop, and all the other tests they could and found no significant issues besides for low fluid in one of the differentials. They filled it, charged me a fair price for the diagnostic and the fluid, and I drove it home. Ill always take my cars to them.

The reviews of AAMCO is the reason why I brought my car here. The professionalism and timing was great. I dropped my car off on a Friday morning and the problem was diagnosed within a couple of hours.They installed all three mounts quickly and I had my car back Monday morning because the parts had to be ordered. The price was reasonable and I will do business with them again. Great customer service in a timely matter with well experienced mechanics that solved my problem.

Do not do business with ammco transmission at all they are crooks bought a remanufactured trans from them an they installed it with a warranty of 3 years unlimited miles guy says anything happens to this trans within 3 yrs just bring it in to any of the ammco location. Okay so a year-and-a-half later Im driving down the road transmission starts making a loud noise I pull over the bolts to the transfer case and to the overdrive housing on the transmission are sheared off the transfer case is almost laying in the Road well I take it to Aamco location just for them to tell me theyre not going to cover it after it sat there a month at one of their locations this Aamco Transmission is a fraud

They told me $3000 to fix my car but it was $3450 smh

AAMCO has repaired seven of my vehicles in the past 10 years. These have been high millage business trucks, suburbans, and one Infinity Q-45. All required complete transmission and other major engine work. Most of my vehicles have over 100,000 miles on them at the time of the needed repairs. These repairs were done on time on budget and without any problems or extra charges. The staff is very knowledgeable and they know how to treat their customers. I take my cars and trucks there for minor repairs as well as total transmission rebuilds. I like the fair prices and the fact the work in done right the first time. They will advise if future work may be needed so as to allow you time to schedule such work when it is convenient. My car is always returned without a trace of dirt or grease. I have used AAMCO of jackson for years now. Most recently to replace the Air Conditioner in my truck. The team at AAMCO is top notch, honest and affordable.

My Ford Explorer 5-speed manual transmission started having transmission problems at the end of May 2012. I took it to AAMCO because they specialize in transmissions. I ended up having to have my transmission rebuilt. The service was completed in a timely fashion; I dropped it off on Friday am and it was done by Tuesday afternoon. There were a few things that still needed adjusting afterward, but I took it back and they fixed all of them right away. Despite not being able to pick up my vehicle before they closed due to traveling for work, they were very accommodating and took my credit card payment over the phone and then locked my keys in the car so I could pick it up after hours.Fast forward to the end of October (6 months later) and my transmission starts to exhibit the exact same symptoms as last time. I took it back again and the same part failed. Despite not being under warranty anymore because I had driven too many miles, they were able to work with me and get it fixed. I was not charged for the part this time, only labor.I also had the pleasure of dealing with the owner Mack. He was great to work with and made sure that all of my issues and concerns were addressed and that everything was fixed to my satisfaction. I would definitely use their services again and would recommend them to others.

Great experience with the AAMCO location in Jackson. This was our first experience dealing with a transmission issue and Will/Dennis did a great job detailing everything throughout the entire process. Originally gave me 2 quotes depending on what they found once they removed the pan but actually wound up being cheaper than either of those quotes. Would highly recommend this shop to anyone.

The folks at AAMCO are fantastic! A local dealership wanted to replace my transmission. Dennis and Will at AAMCO did a thorough diagnostic check on my vehicle and found out it only had a bad spark plug. They saved me $4000! Next time, Im going to AAMCO first!!!

I needed a second opinion for a bad CVT Transmission so I decided to go by AAMCO. Long story short, I arrived later in the day and they were busy. They didn’t have to help me that same day and could’ve told me they would look at my car the next day but they didn’t. They were generous enough to diagnose my car the same day and and told me what my best options were. Customer Service is awesome and this place has integrity. You can’t say that about a lot of places now a days.

I was driving from Myrtle Beach SC to Las Vegas and my transmission started to act up near Jackson Mississippi. It was late afternoon on friday and the transmission shop had already closed. So we limped into a hotel a block away and got a room for the weekend. First thing monday morning we went to AAMCO and they got us right in and confirmed that my transmission was bad. I was panicking because we had to be on Las Vegas on Friday to meet the semi driver to load are car up to go to Matson in Long Beach. Are car was being shipped to Honolulu and we couldnt miss this time frame. They got are car in and had the transmission totally rebuilt by close of business tuesday evening. Excellent service and a very fair price to boot. Hats off to the people at this location for service above and beyond the call of duty. I must also say the people in Mississippi were some of the nicest folks we have ever been around. They were all very polite and treated us like family, 5 stars Mississippi!

Aamco is a very well known local and national transmission and repair shop. They generally have great service. Prices are commensurate with most corporate chains. (High to slightly high). Prices and service can easily be beat or matched by research of local at home mechanics.

Three generations of my family have done business here starting with a 1966 transmission rebuild on a 1964 Malibu that is still running 48 years later. Mack and his staff also provide diagnostic services for overall automotive maintenance and our family has found them to be extremely knowledgeable with timely service and fairly priced. We highly recommend them!

First Impressions: I walked in early in the morning and spoke with a gentleman about changing my fluids. He provided the usual spill about checking for issues before performing any work (this was not an issue).My issue is the unwelcoming manner it was done in. I was prepared to leave my vehicle for half a day and pay the cost. I only needed a ride 3 miles away and was told that it may take awhile and I shouldreturn when I have someone to pick me up. This was very discouraging. It appeared that my patronage was not wanted. I will find another business prepared to accept my money. Thanks though for saving me from spending any money with you all.

No one likes to have vehicle problems that are costly. But, having Mack at AAMCO available when I have had transmission problems sure makes it a lot easier. Had a little stormy water in the beginning but Mack got involved and even though vehicle was unable to be repaired at AMMCO they did alot of extra testing to try and do repair. Left there feeling satisfied with the attempts to do repair and will probably still do business with them in the future.

If you want reliable and HONEST transmission service there is only one place to go in Jackson, Ms and thats Aamco transmission on North State Street. I took my Cadillac Escalade in to see if I had a transmission leak and they gave an honest diagnosis which it just leaky anti freeze hose I got fixed for 50.00. Honesty is their policy!

My family has been doing business with Mack and Dennis for over 6 years. I was having transmission problems with a car that had been worked on by another shop and continued to have issues with the car. A friend recommended Aamco transmissions and specifically Mack Lowery. Mack fixed the problem and his price was fair. I have been so impressed with my initial visit that anytime there is a problem with any of our family cars (4) we go straight to Aamco. As the owner of an antique Miata, I have learned, as Blanche Dubois did, to always depend on the kindness of strangers. When my convertibles drain tube (for rainwater) became separated from the car during a routine cleaning, at the height of hurricane season in the Gulf, I spent three frantic days trying, unsuccessfully, to reattach it. A friend recommended taking it to the team at the Jackson, MS, Aamco. In less than fifteen minutes these folks had the drain tube reattached and I was on my way. Will, Charles and all the other guys there couldnt have been nicer - or more willing to help. I cant imagine ever going anywhere else. Great people, great help, great experience.

Dont go here. They will try and replace or rebuild your transmission when it doesnt need it. They told me that my transmission was in really bad shape and would cost me 1700 to 2300. I took it to a family owned shop and they found out it was just low on transmission fluid. Even though it was my ignorance, they shouldnt have tried to take advantage of me.

I have had great service for over ten years with the Lowery family.I send all of my family and others to them.
