Lady who owns it occasionally comes in to clean. Makes you feel like you did something wrong. Occasionally she mumbles things under her breath or complains about customers to her friends who are customers. A man came in to get quarters the other day and she made him leave because he wasnt using the quarters to do laundry. Although within her right as she owns the place, it was unprofessional. He wont be coming back again.. Another time during a parade she asked people not to sit on her property if they werent doing laundry. The street was closed so it wasnt like it was doing any harm. I only go here because it is usually quiet as a lot of people use fall creek laundromat. The front door also closes too quickly and snatches your heels. It is hard to get in when carrying large baskets. During the summer the owner doesnt keep the door open to let air in unless she is there cleaning. It gets unbearably hot. Clean, machines are kept working.
Extremely annoying. The door automatically locked at 9 PM instead of 10 PM while my stuff were still in there. This was the second time this happened
Close to my apartment. Change machines are very picky about dollars used for quarters.
I was just unsolicitedly berated by the owner and from the other reviews it seems like I’m not alone? Won’t be going back.
Did two loads of laundry. One came out DRIPPING wet and still covered in soap. The other was BONE DRY and still dirty. Called the number listed on the wall and its not even in service. Complete waste of my money and time. The owner is also rude af for no reason other than to feel like she has control over people.
I actually enjoy this laundromat as far as location and pretty decent priced machines. However it would be nice if the automatic doors opened on time-If a place opens at 6 it should be 6 and not 6:20- very inconvenient for those trying to get a load down before the work day begins
Prices are extremely fair especially when using the triple load washers and the newer dryers. The caretaker lady is very friendly and keeps the laundromat very clean. Parking is provided, there are snack machines, and some nice seating. A wonderful locally, family run, laundromat. Best I have used in a long time.
It cost way to much to wash clothes there
One of there dryers completely destroyed all of my work clothes. Left them with stains and holes. Ive called them several times, left voicemails, and even sent text messages with photos showing the damage. Now when I call, it says the line is busy. Extremely unprofessional to say the least.
Great place dryers warm up fast dry clothes quick
Make sure you do your laundry right after u get coins from their machines, if the owner doesnt see that shes gonna start bugging you for not doing laundry here and use their coin machine. Not sure why she thinks people wanna just com in and get quarters from their machine when they have 10 dollar bills. No offense but owner can be a b**** sometimes.
Seems clean, but they don’t feed hot water at all. I tried three different kinds of washers on different days, but none of them fed hotwater even when I selected Hot Water. It was icy cold. Some clothes need to be washed in warm or hot water to get thoughly cleaned. So disappointing.
The best laundry mat in Ithaca. Clean, close and easy. Never really busy, and great friendly owners.
Owner yelled at me as soon as I got out of my car and accused me of parking without paying. After I said that I was there to do laundry, she continued to call me a liar, even after I showed her my laundry bag. She stood behind me as I put my laundry in the machines to make sure that I would actually pay her. Incredibly hostile (and bizarre) experience. From the looks of the reviews, the owner has been this toxic for a long time.
Normally, Im happy enough with this laundromat. But the owner posted the hours as 6 am to 10 pm on Sundays. However, when I came to get my clothing out of the of the dryer today (Sunday) at 9:40 pm, the doors were locked and no one was around. Guess my clothes are trapped until tomorrow morning.
Felt very uncomfortable here, (Main reason I will never go there again.) The owner was watching me the whole time and not at all subtle like took pictures of me. Because I was new there? Who knows but it was a creepy thing to do and completely inappropriate.
Monday 6 AM to 10 PM Tuesday 6 AM to 10 PM Wednesday 6 AM to 10 PMThursday 6 AM to 10 PM Friday 6 AM to 10 PM Saturday 6 AM to 10PMSunday 6 AM to 10 PM.This is the Owner of Northside Laundry. The hours for my place have change 2 years ago. We are now open at this time. MY granddaughter is letting Google know of this. THANK YOU.Please note this NEW times.
Local who wants to provide some context for the brown water situation. All of these happened during the couple days that the entire citys water was that color - why would the laundromat be any different? As for my experience, its always been fine. There are a few triple load washers that are a really good deal and I hope they get more of those, and the dryers work really fast. I can do basically 3 loads of laundry in an hour. I wish it was open a bit later, but I understand why the owner (who is the only employee Ive ever seen there) wouldnt want to get up at 5am to open and stay up til after midnight to close 7 days a week. Beware the vending machine candy bars if its really hot outside, theyll be all melty.-Mik
Neighborhood laundromat. All machines working and clean. No air conditioning so it can get pretty warm in summer.
All of the white clothes turned brown dont go here. Owners are also completely negligent and refused to shut down store because the city said it was safe
It is ok. You have top and front loaders and extra capacity washing machines as well.
Is very clean. I like going early mornings when there is no one there.
On August 17th 2016- I also had a bad experience at Northside Laundomat. My washer was broken and stuff was really piling up. I had six loads and all were ruined by iron stains from the water. The man working there- had an old creepy horror movie playing on T.V. It seemed to have mental health issues and it was clear he was not going to offer any kind of assistance. Then he took off- leaving all of the frustrated customers and future customers to fend for themselves. I called the number posted on the wall- but the woman who answered said the old man was supposed to close it. Total fiasco. Stains faded by soaking in vinegar but they will not come out.
Use if you are rich and like to throw away your money. Otherwise, this place is very overpriced.
The woman who owns/runs this laundrymat is blatantly racist and harasses people with disabilities. Never in my life have I witnessed such horrible behavior. Dont go here! Support someone else!
Hours are rough, but big washers and dryers and its usually $3.25 to wash and dry.
Ruined my clothes and the clothes of everyone who was there. I called and would not get any help. I told him that there were a lot of unhappy customers here and they hung up on me.
Clean, convenient service.
