Have driven by India 101 a million times. Decided to stop today for lunch. Surprised they still have a buffet. They are good about mask enforcement around the buffet. It was hot, fresh, with a nice selection. The clientele was diverse giving me a greater appreciation for the quality and authenticity before I made my selections. Although the selection was abundant, there was a lack of veggies. But that didnt deter me or my wife. Back in the day, I would have gone back several times, but now I do good if I can down my original plate. Dont forget to tip, even though it is a lunch buffet, someone is setting up, cleaning, cooking, seating, and cashing you out!BTW, nice terrace upstairs, dont know if it is open, but it would be nice to sit there in the evening when it is cool outside.

I’ve eaten here several times now and it’s one of my favorite Indian buffets. The have a huge selection and are always bringing out fresh food. They’ve also done a great job handling covid and taking precautions to keep everyone safe. I’d highly recommend India 101 to anyone.

I was so hopeful about this Indian Buffet but to be honest I am really disappointed. I went for special dinner buffet on weekend which was around $23 but literally not worth of this much. Appetizers was really cold, most of the items were veg, lassi was really liquidy, not thick at all. I could barely lile 5-6 items.

Great Indian food buffet. Everything was the perfect temperature and VERY well seasoned. If you are not a fan of spicy food then Im sorry for you but nothing here packed flavor. The best thing on the menu though..... the fruit salad. Im convinced its the best thing Ive ever eaten in my entire life. The Mango custard that surrounds the fresh fruit was smooth, creamy, rich, and every other synonym I can think of to describe the perfect dessert. I would pay the buffet price JUST to eat some more of that fruit salad.

Finally accumulated courage to try another Indian buffet. Highly disappointed with India 101. Most of the buffet was substandard and mostly south Indian. They should call it South India 101 instead of just India 101. Also not sure why they call it 101. Neither they had 101 dishes in buffet nor this is anyway 101 of cooking. Except couple of dishes, rest was awful. Another big name with false promises on social media.

Came with coworkers for a hangout after half a year of being locked out. The place takes appointment only. Plenty of space as not many people coming. Before you go inside to the buffet area, there is a table for you to get sanitizer, put on gloves, then pickup your recycled plates, small bows, napkins and utensils. All are one time use only. Even when getting the food, you still have to wear masks. The food options are as much as i remember,. Tastes are still good. Definitely feel safe when eating there even though its a buffet restaurant

May be the worst Indian buffet food I ever had. I am surely going to get lot of wraths from owner but your food was not good. Tandoori and kabab was cold and dry. Pakori was cold. And I can make way better butter chicken, chole and malai kofta. Gulab jamun was having thick layer outside. Medu vada was not soft. Sambhar was okay. I drove for 40 minutes to get there and was really disappointed. And it costed me 68$ for 3 people meal.

The food was decent, but it was so packed on a Sunday afternoon (2pm) and they use disposable styrofoam, plastic gloves and plastic forks for EACH trip to the buffet. SHAME ON INDIA 101 for acting like we are not in a climate crisis.. “in the name of Covid..” if they really cared about Covid they would limit capacity. It really makes me sick to imagine how much waste this restaurant has been creating for the past 15 months while charging $22 pp. surely there is an eco-friendly alternative that you can afford with all of the profits you make off of customers.

The food taste disgusting. May be because I had high expectation. I don’t visit this place frequently. Last time I was visited was during opening week and the food tasted much better but today it was really disappointing especially chicken Biryani. Unless the food was labeled incorrectly, the chicken Biryani should not look and taste that bad. I am sure the chef of that size restaurant definitely knows how to make biryani but today was just not his day. Not sure if COVID has anything to do with food taste but definitely not the place and food like before and like expected.

To owner - I wish could give zero stars. I visited this place 2 years ago and it was great but my recent last month visit (visiting from Utah) was extremely disappointing! 70 percent of the items on the menu were either stale or went bad, the staff were moody or no service at all. I have had buffets in states like Idaho and Wyoming but they served better food than you India 101, the state where Indian food presence is huge in USA. At this point, I feel like you charged us approximately 50 dollars (22 dollars per plate plus taxes) for a sub standard food. If the owner is reviewing this comment, you should get in touch with me to get to know my full experience in detail and have the courtesy to simply refund the charge. Thanks!

Likability of India 101 depends on who you are!If you are an Indian family who have access to Indian food at home but looking for some change, this place is average. So 3 stars. If you have to take your non Indian friends and colleagues for lunch or dinner, then this place is good. Food is not very hot here. For me, food isnt aaah-mazing here. Sweets are bad. I will go here only when I badly want to eat out and want a break from urban tadka, Desi district , biryani bistro etc.

The food was good. I like the traditional Indian Cuisine like Masala or Butter Chicken. However my last visit to India 101 was not a pretty much satisfied one. We went for the All-you-can-eat on Friday night, the food was good and service was good, but I find this slice of rope in my mouth when I was chewing. The manager explained that it was accidentally mixed in when folks are chopping the onions. It was 21.99 per person at Friday night, I feel it might be a bit over the value of the food.

DISGUSTING! What the owners are doing to their nice hard working staff is disgusting. Did you know that leaving gratuity when youre paying with a debit or credit card, it goes to the owners and nothing goes to the staff? Gratuity is the main income for many of the people that work in that industry. I cant believe the owners in this place is not doing the right thing. If youre planning to visit this restaurant and if youre planning to leave some gratuity, I would suggest to bring cash. Otherwise, youre making the owners richer since theyre putting that extra money in their pockets. As far as the food goes, my review, I would say food was OK. We were a party of 4, the bill was over $80. I wasnt impressed. The decor inside is nice, and very clean. If the owners are seeing this review, i hope theres still some dignity in your conscience. Dont keep the gratuity that belongs to someone else, thats stealing! . Give it back to them, to your staff

Went there yesterday. Good Buffet overall. Lots of variety in food. Could improve a bit in Pav bhaji.Sweet dishes were Ok! I do not know if the cook knows how to make a fruit salad (sweet dish) or maybe forgot to switch labels. A fruit salad is made in custard base and if you are naming a mango based one as fruit, you are wrong. Even it was in custard base, it was made very bad. The fruits were too largely cut. Not a lot of variety of fruits in them.Secondly, could improve on gulab jamuns. Tasted as if it were a bit too fried and resulting in a bit less dense filling.Overall, good food, good ambience, good staff.

Most disgusting buffet ever had in my life. Nothing in the buffet is actually fresh and tasty. At least 3 or 4 items are expected to be nice in every buffet. But this restaurant is not worth for the price we pay. The food quality is very low and even stale. The chat section is smelling bad because of spoiled curry. When I talked to manager it was shocking that he acknowledged that but still kept on buffet table until it was complained. These guys take customers easy and think what ever they serve, people eat. Please avoid for good.

I came here before the pandemic, and the food was the best I have ever eaten. However, now, the quality has decreased. Pathetic buffet on a Saturday night. I’m still in shock why they have so much wait time( around 45 mins) on Sundays lunch buffet. Food is just mediocre and even a basic Indian restaurant in and around of Irving will serve better than this. Not at all worth of $20+ . Tandoori chicken is fully colored, veg Manchuria balls looks like pakoda shapes, chilly chicken is dumped with sweet sauces, Gulab jamun is just ridiculous(for non Indians who are eating here and thinking this is gulab jamun desert, I’m sorry this is the worst gulab jamun and it’s like a pretend gulab jamun). If you are vegetarian you still get a lot of option too. Vegans can have some f the food too, as indian vegetarian food dont usually contain cheese.
