HVAF has been a Godsend for me in a time of need. The assistance theyve provided in many areas (housing, utilities, cleaning supplies, toiletries, holiday needs, and the pantry) has helped me get on my feet in this trying time in my life.

HVAF of Indiana has been a great partner to the Gene B. Glick Company. Special thanks to Brian, Emmy and Bryan for helping Glick establish a program to begin housing homeless veterans through the HUD-VASH program at Glick Family Housing Foundation properties. Another big thanks to Aaron for helping Glick organize a company volunteer event at HVAF. HVAF is a great organization to work with and provides our veterans with amazing services.

This is the spot for Veterans to turn to if they have been trying to get ahold of who or , whatever they once were or were trying to be . HVAF is the acronym for Homeless, Veterans, And, Families . This Non- For Profit offers food , clothing , housing assistance , counseling , job seeking assistance and other highly effective services . I would personally like to extend my thanks to everyone at HVAF for their tireless efforts to help me and countless others overcome trying situations . Thanks Alberta Platt , Richard , Katie , and Rodney . From the volunteers who help distribute the food items, to the volunteers who help distribute the clothing items , you are all very much appreciated . And please forgive me if I didnt mention all the names who have helped me along my way . God bless you all and what you do .

The social worker here is a complete ass. He picks on people, verbally reprimands and threatens people who stay here and makes the over all atmosphere here negative. People specifically walk on egg shells while he is at work because he makes everyone so uncomfortable. He is even making the once nice other social worker into a negative person. He kicks veterans out of the program for no reason after they have come to the program for sanctuary from an addiction and or homelessness. When a veteran asked why the councilor, in an appropriate manner, how the veteran could improve their relationship with the councilor the councilor stood up and got in the veterans face and told the veteran he was getting kicked out of the program. The veteran asked him to calm down and just talk about the situation the councilor made contact with the veterans chest in an attempt to fight the veteran. The veteran backed down and started to cry and ask why he was doing this the councilor called the police to escort the veteran off the property back to the streets. The veteran who suffers from anxiety and depression and the week before had said he wanted to take his own life and had been hospitalized for his suicidal thoughts as well as the day before had been diagnosed with having a broken leg in 3 spots was still kicked out of the program with out even a bus pass. The veteran had no prior conflicts with any other veterans or staff members. The living area where the veterans sleep is one big room with about 20 beds. This is not a good place because of the one councilor and he is the sole reason why I gave the facility a one star rating. With out his presence I would give the facility a 3 star. So if you go here watch out for the older of the two councilor who wears glasses and is darker skinned.

Im so glad HVAF of Indiana is here! The staff, and the many kind volunteers, work tirelessly to support and strength the veterans return to a happy, productive, recovery! While I dont wrestle with the demons that bind many of my fellow veterans...I to stood at the door, broke, hungry and HOMELESS! I prayed for deliverance...any I needed it fast! The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, social worker was instrumental in starting me on my return from homelessness. I thank God for HVAF! ~Tyrone Chapman, Proud USA Veteran

I want to say thank you to Calisha, Shawnita, Jasmine, Sheena, Fred, (the Warman woods staff) ,and the ladies who work the desk at HVAF headquarters. I had a set back and asked Hvaf for help. I now have a vehicle, a new studio apartment, and I am starting a new part time job tomorrow, thanks to HVAF, helping me get back from homelessness, to permanent housing of my own. My love to you all at Hvaf and for everything you do to help veterans, Oh and how could I leave out Rex, Hvaf shuttle driver, as without him I would have missed appointments and probably been a lot hungrier if not for him taking me to the pantry. I am grateful. God bless, Timothy Adkins,

Had a bad experience with a case manager who did not care about her clents she was supposed to be helping. Drugs and prostitutes were rampant in a couple of the veteran houses. HVAF and certain staff showed no real concern about this. Took several visits by local police finally forced them to take action.
