Tony Knight is the man you want to evaluate your foundation. He is knowledgeable, experienced, and objective. He will not try to over-sell you. He is also a licensed professional engineer with the State of Texas and his name on a report means something. They came out and evaluated my home and did the recommended foundation repair. They did a terrific job and one that I have full confidence in. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.Hugh B.
We have used Knight Engineering Services for two foundation projects at our house, nine years apart. In both cases, we have been grateful to be in such capable and knowledgeable hands. When you deal with Knight Engineering, you deal with an engineer, not a salesman. This is a family business, and both Tony Knight and his father before him have a deep understanding of Texas soil and the concrete slabs that we build our homes on here. Knight Engineering warranties their work for life. Our second project overlapped in a small area the work done nine years previous. The company honored their warranty in the area of overlap. Their work crew was extremely courteous, experienced, and hard-working. Nobody loves having tunnels dug under their foundation or holes jackhammered through their floor. It’s an alarming process! But Knight Engineering’s crew did a great job, not only of finding and fixing our problems, but also of putting our house back together again like nothing had ever happened. Throughout the project, they were taking measurements to make sure that our problems were being thoroughly corrected. We are very satisfied with the result, and we would not hesitate to recommend Knight Engineering Services to anyone who is having foundation problems.Rebecca & Warren HansonHomeowners
I would recommend Tony and Knight Engineering without hesitation to anyone contemplating a purchase of a new home. Tony accepted my desperate call on a weekend and cleared his schedule to drive out to a house we were contemplating purchasing. We were in an option period and needed a foundation inspected sooner rather than later. His expert knowledge and precise measurements saved us from purchasing a house with foundation problems that we were not aware of. In language we understood, supported by drawing that more than suggested a problem with the foundation. Before purchasing another home, I will definitely contact Tong to do a foundation inspection for us!
I contacted Knight a year ago and they told me that the house had not shifted enough to merit an adjustment to the foundation.A year later it had shifted more. Tony came out to our home and mapped out our foundation in extreme detail. Was utterly impressed with the level of detail he was able to articulate. They noticeably leveled our home, gave me some feedback on the root systems (thankfully did not affect our foundation) were able to tell why the soil was giving way, fixed some of the cable ends, and gave us some specifics of our home that we never knew/noticed such as our front porch being built slightly askew. They gave us schematics before and after the job was done and they have a lifetime guarantee. The work took just shy of a week to finish. The guys were great and when they finished the job covered up all the holes they made including the driveway where they had to break the cement and reconnected all sprinkler lines they cut into. The price, personally, was not as much as I expected, and they were willing to work with us on a repayment plan.Highly recommend, especially if you want to know all the details of what they will be doing to your home.
Knight fixed our foundation 14 years ago and were very professional in both the evaluation and repair. We recently sold our home and had Knight come back out for an evaluation at the buyers request. Still no issue. The lifetime warranty now transfers to the new owners. Couldnt be happier with the work and follow up we received.
Called to get an estimate, the lady who answered the phone sounded like she was irked I called during her daily soap. She laughed when I asked if they provided free estimates, which everyone else is willing to provide. Scoffed at another point when I asked if they were available the same day. Will Never use this company after such unprofessional behavior.
Had my foundation repaired after buying my house. First Mr Knight did not do the actually inspection to figure out exact how to fix the foundation. He piggy back off of someone else’s inspection. Second, I was supposed to receive a warranty for the foundation that I have yet to see. My house is less leveled that it was. They actually made it worse. When I call to express my concerns Mr Knight was non responsive.
Greatest group of professionals Ive ever dealt with. I was always treated with honesty and integrity.
My house had foundation damage due to age. Naturally, I got 3 bids from various levels of foundation repair companies. Knight Engineering sent out a legitimate engineer. He spent an hour and half at my house taking measurements from all different angles, getting underneath the house to check the pier and beam addition, and measuring the exposed fou dation under the deck. Days later they provided me with a drawing of elevation differentials, that was measured to quarter inch differentials, with gradient lines, and to-scale measurements of the home. To say the least, it was impressive.Weldons crew was on time. They completed the job in one day,on budget. I was very impressed and would use their services again.
My home was listed for sale and our buyers used Knight Engineering for an inspection. The company had the potential buyers sign an agreement that they were NOT to share the result of the inspection with us. There are so many red flags with this company in my honest opinion. We obtained an inspection by a very reputable company and though our home has an issue, it is not major nor is it nonnegotiable. I feel this company interfered in my real estate transaction as our buyers backed out due to being informed the home needed extensive work.
A few months ago, we began noticing cracks in the drywall at the corner of several doors, along with some additional indicators that we may have a foundation problem. Weldon Knight came in, took readings throughout the house, and prepared a diagram showing the contours and exact areas in which the foundation had settled/heaved. Their crew came in, did all necessary excavation, installed piers where needed, and brought the slab back into level, all within a few days. When they left, everything had been cleaned up, the house was level, and even the cracks that had been so evident before had closed so completely that it was difficult to even see where they had been. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone who even thinks they might have a foundation issue.
Great to work with, great follow up. Great job. I hope I dont have to, but I would hire them again.
No integrity!!Hired knight engineering to evaluate our foundation and mr. Knight came to our house and didn’t listen to what we wanted. We were selling our home and wanted an engineer to inspect the foundation. All mr knight want to do is sell us a foundation repair. He was told 3 times not to throw his tool box onto our hardwood floors. He told us that if he had known that all we wanted was an inspection he would have charged us a lot more. He only charged us a small amount so he could get the repair job! That’s a big problem for me in my opinion, as to his true intentions on our foundation! After he was paid in full as agreed I asked him to give me a copy of our report without his recommendations just his findings, so that I could give to the new buyers. All I wanted was his findings, and he told me that I wanted him to lie. He got mad at me and refused to give me that report and hung up on me! If you hire this company expect them to find a problem no matter what!
After speaking to several engineers Tony Knight offered to help with Foundation Certificates. Thank you??
