My wife and I found Alwin’s a while back through their incredibly-run Facebook Page, and their great Google and Yelp reviews. Over the years, we have taken our Ford Escape, our F-150, and Jeep Grand Cherokee to Alwin’s several times. Between new brakes, new tires, oil changes, and overall inspections, they are always honest, friendly, helpful, and do a fantastic job.

Very good, quick and honest service. I wouldnt hesitate to send my wife or mother here. I have had minor and major repairs done here and you cant beat the turnaround time and the fair price. They also support our military and first responders. If we bring our vehicles here, its the place to go.

Ive been to Alwins several times for repairs and I believe that each time I got fair treatment and honest assments of what needed to repaired. One time I had a work vehicle I needed to get back on the quick and they were very accommodating.I recommend Alwins, I think they are fair and honest.Why not 5 stars? Because they do the same thing everybody else. The markup on parts is near criminal. Everybody does it so....

Nice people and fair prices. Very cool how they text an inspection report even if you’re in for just a basic tire job. The inspection report included pictures and informative details about the overall condition of our vehicle.

I’ve had our vehicles serviced at Alwins for years, always excellent service! They always go above and beyond expectations! Highly recommended.

Had a flat tire and needed a tow early one morning a few months ago. Asked them to check the tires. Didnt receive a call, so called them at noon for an update. I was informed they had put 4 brand new tires on without my consent. I had to talk to them about 5 times to even get the information needed to make a decision. I was so disappointed by the entire situation that I paid for a new tire and the tow and took my car somewhere else for 4 new tires. I was really looking forward to supporting a local small business, but wouldnt give them another dime. Hoping this was an unfortunate situation that doesnt happen often.

Very fast service

I’ve given this shop 3 opportunities to do some work for me, and every time has been very frustrating. First of all, the communication with customers is absolutely horrible. Don’t expect phone calls with updates. The first time, I had them weld a custom exhaust and not only were they very expensive, but the welds are spotty. It also took several days to pick the truck up because they close earlier than advertised, and earlier than told on the phone. The second time, I had them do an alignment on a car after I installed all new front end components (tie rods, axles, struts, sway bar links, ball joints, etc.) and had to bring it back in to have them redo it because it was even worse than before. The most recent time, I brought a project to them to finish up some wiring that I didn’t have time to do, and they had my truck for 6 weeks. I was expecting it to take 1-2. I called several times a week after the first two weeks, and just kept getting told “sorry we’ve just been really busy), even though I was also a paying customer.. I finally told them I was just going to come pick it up, after they told me they wouldn’t be able to get everything done. I went to start it to leave and the vehicle started smoking and almost started on fire. I had to leave it there again, and figured they would take care of it right away, but there it sat for another week. All this after they had wired one thing in 6 weeks. I usually always do my own work on my vehicles except for alignments, but I will absolutely never recommend this shop to anybody I ever meet within the community of Hudson. I wish I didn’t have to have this opinion as I like to support local businesses, but they have proven several times to be incompetent.

Ive been taking my vehicles to Alwins for years. I find them to be very honest and transparent. Ive been towed/stuck numerous times and its always been a matter of minutes for them to arrive. I enjoy the friendly waves I get as I pass by each morning . Easy to rate Alwins 5 Stars!

Love these guys. Super professional, courteous, and a wealth of knowledge. They are by far the best in Hudson. I wouldnt trust my vehicles with anyone else!

These guys went FAR above & beyond to help me out. The cost of my repairs was significantly less than I had expected which was a very pleasant surprise beyond their exceptional service. I cant thank them enough. Ill definitely be back & would highly recommend them. Its rare to find people like this anymore.

Reasonable prices kind workers

I ended up in a ditch during that first snow of the year this November. Dave from Alwins was incredibly helpful, working around the sign I took down and all the brush around my car. He got there fast, was kind, calm, and very knowledgeable, pulling my car out without any issues despite the odd angle I had managed to end up at! I highly recommend, though I wouldnt hope this situation on anybody :)

Dave, the owner, is simply great! He is customer service oriented and is the type of individual that will go out of his way to help a customer. He runs his business with integrity and honesty. I look up to Dave and respect what he does at Alwins Auto Repair. A+

We all know its difficult to find a car repair place you can trust! They are far and few between. This is definitely the one for hudson! They do good work at a fair price, and never pull the add-on stuff that most shops will do. Expect quality work here and a fair price.

Love this place. Im fussy about my car servicing over the years, and Dave and the team are very clear, fair and great mechanics. Plus sitting by the wood stove in the winter in comfy chairs and a TV to watch is a plus!

I have been a customer and taken my vehicles to Alwins since they purchased and owned the business back in the 1990s. I have taken every vehicle there plus family vehicles and have received impeccable service, quality workmanship, and honesty. Once in a while you run across an owner mechanic that can trouble shoot your problems and work with you to manage the costs. Alwin is one such owner. I have tried other companies and after one instance of taking a vehicle to two separate service companies I ended back at Alwins. He finally fixed it and it cost half of what the other two companies charged. DUH!

Was willing to do a small repair for me while I waited, will go back if I need anything more substantial done.

Ive been to many places over the years but I trust this place and always feel comfortable I am going to be taken care of.

Although they were kind, they took over an hour with a scheduled appointment and cost more than a instant 15 minute oil change. Also, left my driving wheel greasy and my door handles. With my busy lifestyle, time is valuable to me and this isnt for me. Thank you for the experience though.

They are great, good work and service oriented

If I could give Alwins a -5, I would. I have family members who sadly trusted Alwins with their cars over the course of a number of years. They have been ripped off, enormously inconvenienced, and treated with a lack of respect. They didnt deserve the 3rd, 4th, and 5th chances my family gave. Its a sad day when common decency is no longer the norm in business practices. Im glad they no longer call Alwins their mechanic, and will be sure my friends and acquaintances know to look elsewhere for honest and professional services.

Absolutely Horrible Experience! My 2008 Honda Accord went in for a scheduled brake job, and after they had my car for 2 days, I called to ask what was taking so long. They told me the car was done, and that I could come pick it up. After not getting a simple phone call to tell me the repairs were finished, I get there to find that the quote they gave me, wasnt even close to what the final bill came too. Dave (the owner) told me to get over it, and to just pay the bill. I was SHOCKED!!! After paying $380 MORE than what I was quoted, I noticed the bumper sticker had been peeled off my car. When I called to ask why they removed it, Dave (the owner) said he hates the president and if ANY VEHICLE comes in the shop with our presidents name on it, it gets removed. I was told by Mike who I think is Daves head mechanic, that an automatic fee of $100 is added for having the name of Barack Obama on the vehicle. I cant believe this kind of stuff goes on in a small town business, and they are so blunt about it. STAY VERY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! I have now heard that they have been doing this for many years now. It is also been brought to my attention, (after talking to my neighbors) that Dave Alwain has been dealing Meth and Cocaine through the company as well.PLEASE be very careful when and if you ever deal with this company.
