Ive worked in the intermodal industry for over 15 yrs and from my experience in working for this organization is that they truly take care of their employees and owner operators like none other.

Micromanagement is the name of the game now. Regardless of year model of truck or working locally they force you to get ELD tablet and camera. Insurance is $175 a week minimum and if you have an accident no matter how minor you are terminated on the spot. Several guys I personally know have been terminated for minor reasons even though they were at canal for over 20 years. Better companies are out there. Drivers are expendable here.

This company has so many amazing people working for their customers. They respond right away if there is any issue, and work hard to provide value to their customers. They do so much for their owner-operators in terms of driver appreciation and perks. A great team to do business with.

Worst company to be associated with horrible office staff. There is plenty other company who can get the job done on a timely manner and efficiently with no worries at all. This company on the other hand has been nothing but problems who ever is running this is not up to standards. The dispatching office is an absolute joke. I recommend everyone to go anywhere else than with this company. I would put zero stars if it was available! Don’t waste your money let alone your time with them it would be the biggest mistake.

Canal is a company that is at the forefront of technology. The attention to the drivers is one of the best. The work of the group is the most coordinated that I have ever known, among so many companies Canal is ahead in organization, the errors are minute, it can be said that there are no problems that make you waste your time. It has acquired the PIN system for the entrance to the port, which other companies have not considered a concerted channel. The trucks are checked from time to time and a qualified inspector tells you if your truck has a problem that you have not noticed. Security is excellent. The company handles its loads mainly with its own chassis, which it maintains in good condition. It has security cameras throughout the parking lot. The only sign that can be made is the paving of the parking lot, but even so the good things outweigh that bad part. Nobody is perfect. The administration handles everything very well and that makes the staff feel good. Payments are done well, without error as everyone strives to do their job with quality.

Good work organization, but insurance is very expensive and some trips pay little.
