I recently took a trip to Houston, Texas in May (27-30) with 31 of my closest family and friends to celebrate my birthday. We traveled all the way from South Carolina and it was lovely. From the first day I booked my private group tour which was back in January of 2021, Antonio from Houston City Tours was very helpful and professional. He answered all my calls and emails during the planning process in a timely manner. On the day of the private group tour the staff had an entire bus cleared for me and my group with a private tour. A photographer was also on board to capture all the the highlights. Minus the heat, the tour instructor gave us very informative information about Houston and showed us some very unique buildings, took us to a graffiti park, and much more. This was a big hit and my guest are still talking about this experience. I would recommend this company to everyone whos in the area looking for an attraction. Thanks Antonio and the crew we appreciate you all so much, and we will be visiting again soon.

If you have one day in Houston, this is a great option. We learned about the City and visited the space center.

If youre looking for an 80 minute Uber ride with no A/C, this is for you. If you hoping to learn anything historical or memorable about Downtown Houston, find something else to spend your money on. Recorded message playing over a karaoke speaker that doesnt align with what youre seeing (due to several road closures for construction) and a tour guide that is only capable of telling you how long it takes to get to the next destination. Very disappointing. Everyone was friendly, but this was a waste of money.

I payed for snacks and drinks to do the tour one Sunday, when I went to the place to do the tour, they told me that they don’t do snack and drink on Sunday, the lady at the front desk just said to me that they will get a refund on my credit card, never received it. I dispute the amount with my credit card and they told them that the amount that I payed was accurate. I am so frustrated with this company. I traveled from boston to Houston and this is how this company treated me

A Bit DisappointedWhen I signed up and purchased for this tour, I thought Id be seeing the beach. Thats the only reason people go to Galveston. But we drove past the beach in a van that was not air conditioned. (Which is ridiculous to experience in Houston summer!) We drove to the port side where there is nothing but concrete. There was not enough time to do anything. The separate trip to the NASA space museum took up all the time for those of us who are continuing onto Galveston. Our guide was not knowledgeable about Galveston. He was looking at his phone a lot. I felt pressured to give unnecessarily tips throughout the trip. (And I usually have no issue tipping.)

I would give 0 stars if I could. I booked a time in the afternoon & Immediately within the minute of booking the bus tour, I was called and said my time slot was no longer available. They refused to provide a refund because “they are subject to change,” and offered one other time to attend that day. I am unable to attend the time & could have 2 years to use it but realistically will not be returning to the city. If they cancel the time slot, they should refund my money. Especially since it was 30 seconds after booking. Will not be going on the tour and am out $70 now. Do not recommend.

I originally schedule the city trip/Galveston island tour the experience was nice, so my husband and I decided to take the NASA Space Center-City Tour, since the day before we had taken the city tour we asked the lady if it was possible for us to just take the NASA Space Center tour only, she said it was ok, but we need it to be there by 10:45 am (only 5 dollars off discount)When we got there and another couple also, she said they had desired to do the NASA tour earlier because the bus was full when we including the other couple said that she personally told us to come at that time, she got defensive and pretty rude, we got our money back, but, we wasted the whole day that we had planned to go there and didnt have more time to come because we were coming home the next day.

Tour guide Antonio was FABULOUS!! Very knowledgeable about the area, courteous, and took great care of our group.

My family booked the Galveston tour. The air conditioning on the coach did not work. Most of the windows were bolted closed. It was the hottest, most stuffy uncomfortable ride. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Dripping with sweat and sweltering in the bus.

Good interpretation of the city on the hop on bus tour. Real effort to accommodate our needs. Wish we could have asked questions but we were on the top of the bus. Kind of pricey for 80 minutes of a tour. $35! No free water bottle. I did learn why there are no people walking around the streets of Houston. Can you guess?

This was a terrible tour . They told you you very little about what you were seeking. Played music most of the time. The information they did give you wad was brief and not long at all. Less then minute on any thing they pulled in Front of. You could drive yourself around and see the same thing. Very low class tour . One of the worst I have been on , I would not recommend this tour to anyone.

Fantastic it was. Brad the tour guide cum driver was amazing and explain very well. 79$ is suffiecient considering to and fro to Nasa and city tour.

We typically do a hop on hop off your such as that at any major city we travel to.The tour itself was fine. My low rating is entirely due to the fact that even though these are typical double decker tour buses, this tour does not allow anyone to sit downstairs in the bus and all the seats are upstairs where there is no canopy, tarp, or other sun shade. This is houston by the way. Owners, have you forgotten how hot the Houston sun is, and you cannot bother yourself to have sun protection like most other double decker buses have. To see how uncomfortable all of your patrons were coming off the bus day in and day out (and it hasnt even hit the hottest yet, you should be ashamed.

I had a trip to Galveston last week, the traffic was terrrible we spend most of the time in the road, the worst part is that the vehicle did not have air conditioned and it was the trip to hell, it was very hot and humid I do not recommend this trip to anyone, you dont have time to have lunch or do anything in Galveston and to spend hours in a hot bus you dont need to pay 200 dollars

Please dont make the mistake and book here...Im really disappointed in this company. My wife and I (Tomball) booked a spontaneous city tour which featured nasa on June 12th. The tickets we bought were for a tour that began at 12pm and ended at 7pm. Upon checking in, we were greeted with a smile, however as soon as I mentioned we had a 12pm tour, the conversation quickly turned sideways. The representative quickly fired back with ugh, I tried to call you. Were not doing Nasa today and our time was wrong. It starts at 9:30 not at 12. The call I received was a number from Mexico and they left no voicemail. Strikes one and two right there. Not only was there poor communication on their website, theres poor communication from the staff. I asked what our options were and all he offered was a date to reschedule for. I calmly did so, and then asked for a refund through the booking agency. Im now being told, they arent going to do a refund. My wife and I drove an hour into Houston, paid for parking, and were told that they didnt even offer a tour that day. The only upside is that they are letting me redeem this at any point in the next 365 days. That being said, Im eating the cost and writing this review instead. Had I received a refund, Id consider booking with this company in the future, instead, I will remove this company as a recommendation for family and friends.

Horrible Experience!Purchase two holiday city lights tour tickets and the company called me to cancel the tour the morning of and did not have a reschedule date that I could actually make. The manager never called me and my phone number/email was blocked. Extremely unprofessional and basically scammed me! Then they refunded me for only 1 ticket as if I did not purchase two tickets. I can’t believe a company would behave this way especially during a pandemic and this was definitely a frustrating experience. DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY!!

Only 2 customers so our tour was cancelled. Then lied and said the bus was broken. Terrible attitude.

Would not recommend given the price. I had to wait for a later tour because the first one was not booked to capacity and I did not have an option for a refund. The guide was nice but more satire than information... He made jokes about the homeless people on Main Street and how they can survive in the heat. I was not too pleased also that the guide did not know Houston was the fourth most populated city in the U.S. For the price, you would think the product would be a bit better and more professional.

I SPENT OVER $6000 preparing for the Pride Parade!! I paid them $1500 for the bus.$550 for the banners to advertise my business. $4000 on items to throw in the parade. I WAS A SPONSOR IN THE PARADE. Tens of thousands LOST from not being in the parade. THS WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED!!!!!!Houston City Tours should not be in business!! I hate leaving bad reviews, but the bus broke down in the beginning of the Houston Pride Parade and almost blocked the ENTIRE parade. The driver admitted that they never should have rented the bus to us. I felt so sorry for the driver because he was worried about us and said that this happens all the time and he gets stuck having to try and fix it. You should see what they had to do to get it running - it was hilarious, yet extremely dangerous. Ive had this happen with this company a few years prior with them and should have known better, but I like to give people second chances. Greed does nothing but harm. It took them almost an hour to get the bus fixed, but at that point the parade was practically over. They ruined this experience for forty of my friends, my mom, and ruined an opportunity for me to enjoy the one night of the year that I live for.. I made a promise to myself that this company will NEVER make someone cry at a Pride Parade again. A parade that is intended to be a celebration and fun.Carmen and Antonio shame on you.Warn anyone you know that this company loves money more than they do honesty.

Not very happy. This company was featured on the news for holiday light tours. I book a Wednesday because I work weekends. The call me the day before we were booked to cancel the tour or offer Saturday.

Great meeting location with some food/drink/restroom options and souvenirs. Bus was comfortable enough (some are rooftop seating only FYI, bring sunscreen) and the guide was informative. Good tour.

An informative and enthusiastic tour. The tour guide (Linsey)made the ride interesting and applied quite a bit of humor to the historical facts. She was also helpful with recommending places to eat and visit while in Houston. In addition, the other employees were kind and accommodating. Overall, great experience. Highly recommended.

I have never been on a tour of a city. This was my first time coming to Houston visiting from Virginia and my first time going on a tour. I had such a great time! The staff at the store were very nice, and our tour guide Anthony was a lot of fun and knowledgeable of the city. Now when ever I go to a major city I must go on tours. I hope they are as good as this one. Thanks houston city tours!!!

We were booked in for the Houston city of lights evening tour. We had received an email confirmation and the money was taken from our credit card for the tour. We then drove three hours - one of which in a thunder storm - to make sure we were in Houston on time for the tour. We turned up outside the visitor center at 6.45pm for the 7.00pm tour. We then waited and waited - and no tour! What shocked us so much is that they had our telephone number and our email - and didn’t have the courtesy to contact us to tell us the tour was cancelled or postponed. Instead they put us out hugely and were happy to take our money though. We still haven’t heard from them or received a refund. This is by far the worst experience we have ever had with any tour company and if we could have given them 0 stars - we would.

Well after driving around the block several times. Found out they DO NOT do day and night tours. Decided to settle for a cup of iced coffee but that went to $&_+ quickly when the girl behind the counter put her finger in the grinding grinder..yeap peace out . No Fingers in Your Cup!

What’s wrong with you Houston? This Visitor center is not official, they just sell their tour and stuff and call themselves visitor center. Shame on you. Also, they have 2 trips a day, and when we arrived both were full. We paid for the parking for the whole day (as there is no other option) and spent like 10 minutes at the parking lot as we could not go on a city tour. Not much other options to see the city. We are on a road trip, visiting 15 States and many cities, but this city was the only disapointing place - luckily. Good luck with the tourists Houston!

I booked the Houston city lights tour for Saturday 10th November at 7pm. The ticket does state that the tour operator reserves the right to cancel the tour if there is not empty interest. BUT I didn’t expect to stand outside a closed shop front for 20 minutes in the hope that the bus might appear. Houston city tours could have had the decency to call or at the very least send an email to inform me about the cancellation. Not only did i waste my time and spent $10 on parking, but as a solo female traveller i did not enjoy waiting alone in a dark street.Only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is that their staff member (Nick) was super helpful and apologetic and booked me in the following day for a different city tour and even told me where to find free parking.

Too expensive. The ticket to the NASA is about $35, and they charge you over $80!!.. better yo get an uber to get to NASA. DO NOT TAKE TOUR with this guys, is not worth your money!

Amazing and informative tour. Im a Houston native and did not realize how little i knew about all the new and old things that make Houston so unique.

If you use the $79 NASA ticket you are basically paying $50 for a 25 mile bus ride. For multiple people it is better to take Uber or Lyft for you transportation and buy the tickets on line direct from NASA.

They promised an email and never bothered to follow up even after promised to get back to us. My customer was waiting since Friday for a quote that Antonio promised.Just to be honest Antonio you are the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with.1. I would have appreciated you denying the service from the beginning instead of you telling me you will send an email after I send you one and confirmed on the phone that you received it. We never lie to our customers. We also don’t make them loose there time and you guys made us look unprofessional. It doesn’t get more clear than this.2. I have never disrespected any of your reps, even when you made us loose our time. There was no reason for the insults and bad words you told us.3. As a business you should never contact a customer and disrespect them by calling them bad words. You are extremely unprofessional and I hope you realize it one day. I’m very sorry for any person that has to deal with you.4. I will share this 100% real experience with everyone I can to expose your unprofessional behavior and poor work ethics. I went on their city tour followed by their NASA stop off and it was such a great experience. The tour guide was very knowledable about downtown Houston and its heritage, the staff at the centre were very kind and were very good customer care. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone wanting to see this American city

Its a hit and miss with the staff here. First day the girl was clueless, kept telling us to catch Uber to walkable attractions. Second visit the woman was more helpful explaining the tours available.

For me, it was boring, nothing exciting to look at in the cold afternoon and they should have another city bus that keep us warm since its really cold and windy outside.Theres no window on that bus!! I have sweater and jacket on and Im still freezing !!

I found the in-town tour particularly educational because the guide was local and very knowledgeable about the downtown area of Houston.

The city tour was fine, but was very disappointed with the galveston tour. I have read other reviews also that the galveston tour gets canceled often because of lack of tourist count.I have to travel a long distance to downtown for the tour. It was really disappointing. The viator books the tour in advance online. Once the tour gets canceled I have to follow up with viator for the refund.The staff in the Houston city tour office are helpful.Recommended for guided tour.Please take care of the cancellation because it effects tourist like us who are very excited and plan for entire day.
